Electrum does support API features and here is the documentation for how to use them : https://electrumx.readthedocs.io/en/latest/protocol-methods.html. I don't really prefer people using Web wallets or hot wallets for a longer period. But they are the one's that support API integration with wallets and also help us in receiving transactions and setting up passwords for the wallet with a multi currency support. There are individual wallets like Blockchain.com which supports their native currency such as Bitcoin. For multi-currency wallets which has the API control, you could go with

Thanks for any hints! Multicurrency (with 5-10 "top" currencies) and MUST have API? Then you're probably looking at having to leverage the functionality and custodial wallets of exchanges... I don't think that there are any desktop wallets (or "web" wallets for that matter) that will provide the functionality you're wanting. What exactly are you wanting to do? create a trading platform or something? ??? I hope you will be able to find the best one from there.if you are new with crypto then you can continue with Coinbase. Their wallet and API both service is quite good and reliable. You can easily use their API for sending and receiving funds from other wallets. They support most common altcoins on their platform.
