Title: [PVP] DuelBits – A Game Of Blind War For The Wealthy! [NO HOUSE EDGE]
Post by: imabauss on March 17, 2014, 12:27:19 AM
http://duelbits.com

THE GAME:

Duelbits is a game of blind war!

You play by sending money to your randomly generated deposit address (determined by your unique btc withdrawal address on first entry)

Once the transaction is confirmed you are matched with another player who also deposited money!

Every 0.001BTC is considered a troop! aka if you deposit 0.12BTC then you have sent 120 troops to war!

Whichever player has more troops wins the war!

WINNERS receive they troops back + their OPPONENTS troops!

Thats all there is to it!

Example:

Player A send 0.005BTC = 5 troops
Player B send 0.003BTC = 3 troops

Player A wins and receives 8 troops aka 0.008BTC ^.^

The more troops you send the higher chance you have of winning!
______________________________________________

Go ahead and ask any questions you have here!
That way I can make a FAQ from the questions :]

EDIT: Adding more info to the main thread!
Eventually I make this a FAQ and add it to the main site!

So ask me lots of questions and maybe your question will get on the main site! <3

Hey guys! I know I'm a newbie but the site is legit!

I'll explain a little more about me and it here:

I'm a self taught WebDev that got extremely into bitcoin!
I build everything off of the MEAN Stack aka:
MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node!

The whole site was built because I thought it would be fun!
You can learn more about me @ gagebachik.com

Or you can talk to me via Skype: imabauss. <- with the period!
I'm a pretty friendly guy!

Now onto more about the website:

The concept of DuelBits is to be a game where you play AGAINST OTHER PLAYERS!
That way their is NO need for a house edge... because you aren't playing against the site!

The website is in its first stage of release,
All calls are server side and there are no 'accounts' for security!
This means its virtually impossible to give yourself an advantage!

More about the site:

As of now the website is free to play! (aside from the miners fee)
In the future if the website gets big I will simply charge a percentage of the winnings to pay for maintenance!

If you would like to know anything else please ask here so I can make a FAQ! :]

It's an OK concept but there's no way to know that the house isn't cheating you. I wouldn't trust this coming from a newbie.

Slight problem. You can cheat by viewing the blockchain: https://blockchain.info/address/18j3TfeSf4MLQsukw7kHiFKj3xhTqfrAD9

Click on the most address sending to that address and you can see how much the person before you sent.

This will resolve itself if people are depositing as frequently as say 1 deposit per 10 seconds. If that doesn't happen then I suggest using a different method.

Hey! I'm actually really glad you posted this! ^.^

I noticed that within 5 minutes of release!

I have since remedied the issue by doing this:

1. retired the original address so its no longer being used ;P
2. set my transactions to be sent through a shared wallet so they are way harder to trace
3. created about 50 something new random addresses

from now all btc will go to one of these random address then be sent back via a shared send!

so its going to practically impossible to try and cheat by finding my addresses now!

plus it will only get harder the more people are playing at one time!

-Have a nice day :]

cool game, but would be better if a trusted 3rd party/escrow service was used to store the deposits..

Honestly I wouldn't mind doing that at all since it wouldn't hurt me!

If you guys know any with great APIs post them here or send them my way via pm and I'll work on integrating one into the next release <3

Sorry for the downtime guys!
Was running block chains API so nothing I could do

this weekend I'll have finished setting up my own bitcoind and doing my own custom rpc calls so this won't be a future problem!

thanks for the support and I hope you continue to at least try us out!

Normally, I'm a good read for a scammer or someone trying to swindle people. So take this as a compliment OP.

You're new. Your site isn't that unique or different BUT you obviously have put a lot of effort into it. Based on your responses, I would assume your a kid or teenager, or young adult. My guess teenager. Apologize if I'm wrong. I like the effort you have for the coding and such world. I don't know any of it but I am a business guy and I always try to put 100% effort into my hobbies just as you did with this site. It impresses me that you know so much and created this site, nothing I could do at your age (again assuming your a teenager).

I people will try out your site and possibly make some donations to your creativity and "spunk" so to say with your site. Look for user "nahnam" or however you spell it (too tired right now to look, here its 2:30am). He is a young fellow who is creating a lot of sites and becoming popular with fellow users cause of his young aspirations. Maybe you guys could help each or talk or whatever.

Anyways enough of that, keep up the good work OP. I really hope you don't turn out to be a scammer or become one. We need highly inspired people around here. Good luck with the site.

Also, in the OP you need to correct your statement. "Troops cost 0.001, so if you have .12 you would be sending 12 troops". According to your rules .12 BTC would equal 120 troops not 12.

First off I just want to say thanks for not jumping to pin me as a scammer or some ponzu like the first few posts!
I'm definitely a newbie to the site but am quite trusted on different forums! You almost it right on the mark with the age since I just turned 20! I always loved the idea of programming but only really learned how this year and have only been doing web development for about a month now so its definitely not perfect! However I did put lots of time and effort into building the website! I know its not anything crazy in fact is pretty simple! I just wanted a simple game that let me play against real people, so thats what I built! (even though I can't use it seeing as I'm the owner :P) But It was a great learning experience as I'm definitely passionate about bitcoin! I hope other members will at least give it a shot! Who knows they might even enjoy it!

I'll look up the person you mentioned right now, and thanks for spotting my error! I tend type fast and make errors from time to time! I have since fixed it!

-Have a nice day!

Awesome glad to see you're trying us out!
It takes at least 1 confirmation before your duel is considered active!

Ps are you sure you sent to the right address I don't see any recent incoming transactions

Oh! Then thats the problem... Grr I wish blockchain would fix their stuff already!

Because they have no nodes up they aren't sending out callbacks aka the DB entries aren't being made!
I would wait for blockchain to get their stuff together before singing any money

When blockchain.info, if they still don't send the callbacks just pm me with the tx/dep address and I'll manually add you to the DB

SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE!

Simple, but i can see the idea being able to be built on.

The potential is certainly there, and no reason yet for anyone to label you a scammer.

Best of luck buddy, ill be sure to try it out soon

Maybe make it such that a higher amount means a higher chance of winning , but not a 100% chance win.
All I need is 1 BTC and I can play infinite times , just getting more and more money , watching all people who have never played before failing.
Since most people will be testing with small amounts like 0.01 - 0.001 , even you can just play with 1 BTC and take all the BTCs.
Maybe , player A has 5 troops and player B has 3 troops means that A has 62.5% chance and B has 37.5% chance of winning.
That would be fair for both players.
Putting more BTC means that you have higher chance of winning , but lower wins.
Putting less BTC means that you have low chances of winning , with a chance of a super high win.

Anyways , good luck
Jambola2

Yeh thats the plan! start simple and evolve the project with each release! :]

Maybe make it such that a higher amount means a higher chance of winning , but not a 100% chance win.

Wow thats actually a great idea! I do realize that people with more money have a definitive advantage in the game!
This could definitely keep the advantage but be a lot more fair when it comes to problems like that!

I'll definitely consider implementing this into the next release!

Also I just want to shout out to all those that played during blockchain.info's outage!

Their apis finally went back online yesterday and any money you sent is catching up slowly!
So if you weren't in the history DB before you most likely are now or will be within the next 24 hours!

-thanks for the patience

You should look at Kdice (similar to risk).  They have a great game model and could easily be turned into a betting game.

Unless this was just a test, I don't know how 1 vs. 90000001 is a tie. ;)

Sorry thought I replied to this already!

This has to do with block chain.info not me

Your money was already sent to the forwarding address:
https://blockchain.info/address/18azRMyH2MVADAfHb9GobzcHtW3s7yLJF9

This is not turning into a scam and never will ^.^
If block chain doesn't send you the money within 24 hours please pm me and I'll pay you out of pocket

However from now on please do not use the site.
I don't want anyone using the website until version 2 of the release so until then let this thread die

Version two will include:

A percentage system so sending more bit coin doesn't guarantee you total dominance just better odds
Blockchain.info APIS removed and a bitcoind rpc used

Thanks for trying version one of my creation I really appreciate it! :]

Payments are sent using shared coin to keep people from seeing the original bitcoin addresses I send from

If people saw my original addresses then they could just watch the and bet over whatever they see coming in

The address above is the sharedcoin address thats supposed to forward to yours...

Like I said above, if block chains apis fail to forward you the money I will pay you your winnings out of my own pocket!
But please understand my account already sent the winnings(from block chains api) meaning they are no longer in my account

you can pm to see this for yourself ^.^

Payments are sent using shared coin to keep people from seeing the original bitcoin addresses I send from

If people saw my original addresses then they could just watch the and bet over whatever they see coming in

The address above is the sharedcoin address thats supposed to forward to yours...
Ooooooooooh. I read, "The money will be send to this address".
My bad dude, I am truly sorry.

EDIT: Removed my post. Sorry, once again.
