You use Bitcointalk pretty much like how you use any other forum out there. You simply have conversations with people.

Just follow the rules then chances are you'll be completely fine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Alisorena1993, for start you should read sticky threads in Beginners & Help (first 4 on the top), and for any extra info you should visit Meta board. Some time ago I wrote some of the most important things that can help any beginner to adapt and become a useful member of this forum.

Have a good and long-lasting stay on the forum ;)

Just a few tips for every newbie! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5183112.msg52405146#msg52405146)

Learn from others what you don't know, and discuss with everyone what you have knowledge about.
Avoid trying to be extraordinary and just be on point, there is no reward in representing something that has already been demonstrated earlier.
Read the rules (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0) and follow them.
Ignore HYIPs and scams by keeping in mind that there is nothing like quick money but everyone has to earn it.
Don't plagiarize. If you have nothing to say about something, just don't post.

That's all I got.
Enjoy your stay.  :)

There is a free online blockchain education provided by Cointelligence, which is a reliable site and it's good to get started as they have many other resources on the website. I'd recommend registering for their blockchain academy. You can even win a free Trezor hardware wallet if you register.
Here is the link:

Best of luck,

This is really ridicoulous, every day we have some so called newbies asking about advice or  how to get merit while they have everything they need to know right here in the subforum, in sticky posts. If they spent 1 minute checking stuff before instantly creating this redundant thread, they would find all they need to know for the start.
People should stop spoon fed those that are too lazy to check forum rules and guidelines.

This Is his first post and he's posting such. As a newbie, you're expected to be mute for a while, whereby checking other thread, reading their post, know what the forum is all about and also have knowledge the forum before posting. I believed someone introduced him to this forum cos he can't post shit without guidelines

Hmm, have you already read this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0) above yours? It can help you a lot to learn some of the primary things you should know about. Another tip, I advice you to stay first inside your local board while you are not yet get used to this forum. Join with the discussions there about crypto and practice your way of posting. It will serve as your training ground to familiarize all of the things here. You should practice there because member in the international boards are so meticulous and sensitive to other's post especially to newbies like you. Good luck, and welcome to our beloved forum :).

That's pretty much what you get if you advertise Bitcointalk to someone as a "site where you can make money", "a site where you can earn free bitcoin/crypto" or something like that. I've been through multiple forum communities in the past(both big and small), and these sort of "any advice on how to use this forum" posts are a lot more rare compared to here.

Actually, I really want to ask the same thing because it's so annoying particularly those kind of newbies that asks for a detailed/specific answer for their broad question (they sound too demanding) but in the end I remain quiet and continue giving advice for them. I choose to understand them because I once become a clueless newbie before (though I didn't depend on spoonfeed at all) and I remembered that I'm in Beginners & Help so what do I expect? Lol. Of course it's normal to find such kind of threads here ;D *facepalm.

Generic advice for newbies is to lurk, read a lot, get a feel for the forum. Even if you've done that before, before you actively post, maybe read a couple hours more. This applies to just about any other website or forum.

1. First few months you have to read a lot about how crypto works.

2. Don't fall for scam & don't trust anyone. Don't fall for this type of ad. Invest $100 to return $1000 in 24hr.

3. Don't be greedy.

4. Treat bitcoin as money. If earning money from real life is hard then the same goes for bitcoin. It won't make you rich overnight.

5. Contribute the forum with your knowledge.

6. Be Respectful to everyone. You will get the same.

7. Read the forum rules before posting anything.

thank you to understand the feeling of being a newbie...
I'm not looking for money or else I just wanna know about crypto and my goal of making this topic was not to mention me reading ordinary rules of froum. It was making a topic that someone like you that are kinda expert in this particular subject, such as expert tips and "life hacks" kinda.
so to the upper quote(finzyoj): don't be priggish on us, kindness doesn't hurt...
