Title: Selling Bitcoins at a high exchange rate
Post by: Luke-Jr on November 15, 2011, 03:20:14 AM
I'll sell Bitcoins at 25 USD per BTC, or 40 TBC per USD. I don't care that "everyone else" is selling Bitcoins dirt cheap. This is my offer. Take it or leave it. I'm in no rush to sell.

Edit: Also, I encourage everyone else to join me in selling no lower than this approximate price. Eventually, all the people selling dirt cheap will run out and then all selling will revert back to its proper place at $25/BTC :)

You chose this as your 750th post? LOL

I'll buy Bitcoins at 25 BTC per USD, or 31 octadecimal-Bitcoin per USD. I don't care that "everyone else" thinks these Bitcoins are worth so much. This is my offer. Take it or leave it. I'm in no rush to buy.

What methods do you accept for getting the USD?

Are these freshly-mined-without-a-history coins from your mining generation transactions, which could theoretically bring a premium (not that I'm expecting it to be that much of a premium) due to only you knowing who bought them? (And perhaps if you accepted cash-in-the-mail with a bitcoin address in the envelope with no other identifying information, it would even be anonymous to you.)

How long is this offer good for? Can we still take advantage of it once/if the market price gets up there again?

Possibly, though it wasn't what I originally had in mind.

At least until the MtGox last hits 20 USD per BTC, or I reply to this thread (whichever is sooner). Maybe longer.

Obviously this is a two-way price and you'll buy at $25/BTC as well.

If I need something, I'll of course gladly buy it at a price below its real value. Same goes for bitcoins. As it is, I have plenty for the moment.

If you make a Colombo reference, I don't think you are 13.  He's got his glass eye on you.

I like your idea.I like it because when all the cheap BTC dries up,the exchanges will finally be forced to sell them at a better price (more like they were in the summer this year, before the crash).I hope your idea works though.I sold off a few BTC at current rates but am holding onto the rest so they'll grow in value.

Just saw this thread.
I immediately noticed this:

40 BTC / USD

Yes please!  I'll buy 1000 BTC, and since you're saying 40 Bitcoins per USD, I'll pay you $25 via Paypal, Dwolla, mtgoxcode or whatever payment method you want.

You changed his quote.  He never said what you quoted.  He said 40 TBC / USD.  It wasn't a typo.

It was 40 TBC/USD but never the less. They are his to sell. $25/BTC or however much he wants.

I do disagree with the proposition that if everyone sold for $25 they would be worth $25 cause apparently no one wants to buy them for that price. Quasi-FreeMarket sucks sometimes.

1 TBC = 0.00065536 BTC
40 TBC = 0.04194304 BTC (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Units)
