Title: [Account Recovery] Someone Hacked My Account
Post by: carlos123123 on October 04, 2019, 03:33:43 PM
Hey Folks Howdy, Well I was clearly enjoying my life and checking on this forum every week but this week I found out my account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=555318) is hacked by someone. I hope Theymos can help me recover the account. Strangely I do not see any malicious activity but before someone tries to sell me account or something that bad. I hope I can get back my account. I still have access to my recent bitcoin addresses and my oldest address(can sign message from both addresses) which I can use to validate the ownership. Let me know what should I do. also I tried resetting passwords and other stuff.

First thing you need to do is lock your account, from the link send to your registered email.Which will expire in 14 days so lock account ASAP which can restrict anyone from accessing your account then you can process your recovery of account from the link mentioned on above post.

Did you receive any PM before this happened or maybe you clicked any login link and entered your log in details?
If yes, we would love that you post more information, so we can expose them.

Good Luck with recovery

Seems password has changed 11/09/2019 almost 25 days. So why you are posting too late. I don't know when email address has changed but you should receive a mail from forum which is contain with account lock link. So you should check it on your mail and go ahead process with account recovery.

However, sign a message with your bitcoin address (old is better) and should be unedited. If you are really owner of this account I will tag it, so hacker will not able to sell it or join any signature.

Can you sign a message from recent and unedited post from "your" account till you get you account back?

Right now I am in vacation so I do not have access to my old private key backup upto 15 Oct. but right now I have access to the latest address which I used last in the signature camp so I will use that address to sign the PGP key and send it to recoveries...@bitcointalk.org. and also I think the email is changed I am not getting any lock link. anyway I will do as much as possible or will request to block the account if I can't recover it.

-snip- anyway I will do as much as possible or will request to block the account if I can't recover it.
Or you can ask the help of DT members to tag the account has been hacked before the account is locked.
