Simple poll here. I'm not sure if this is allowed but don't see why it wouldn't be. Mods, if I'm dropping this on the wrong board I apologize and please move it appropriately.

My curiousity was piqued after reading several posts bashing certain races in politics/society. Generally there was consensus in these threads and nobody reacted harshly or with offense which made me wonder... is the forum primarily composed of white/European users? Indian users? Are there less black folks here than one would imagine?

I realize my poll options are not the standard 3 or 4 races that one would normally define but I wanted to get a little more granular by region without overdoing the options.

Drop your vote! Would love to see a lot of people participate so we can get some tangible numbers. Thanks!

I'm interested in your conclusions, mainly because it's already showing what it's going to be showing in the end. We'll have most white people and then Asians are going to be the second largest group, but what does it mean to you? Does it change anything? Is anybody surprised? Even without checking the poll results I'd say that this is how it was going to come out.
Go to a random tech conference and you'll see the same thing. If the conference is in a generally "white country" you'll have mainly white people + a lot of asians, If the conference is in an asian country you'll have mostly asians with a lot of with a lot of white people. This is just how things are, are you trying to get to the roots of why it is so?

Am Asian (Southeast, not East though, it's a rather broad category). Noticed that it's mostly whites and Asians in the poll.

Would be nice to see more input into this poll. Do you guys think it would reflect the actual userbase of crypto? I mean, it's somewhat established that US/Europe and Asia have a large number of users with the amount of developments originating from there.

Userbase as a whole, probably not. This was more of a curiosity thing. As I mentioned above I see some pretty harsh threads bashing certain races. I'm all for free speech either way but there wasn't much kickback or arguing going on in those threads.

Most of them targeted Africans. This had me wondering "are there barely any Africans on this forum"

I totally agree with you regarding the "meat vessel" not mattering. We are all netizens while we're here. The nice thing is that the polls are anonymous so nobody should be afraid to send a response.

I was laughing when I heard the term Mongoloid but its actually the one term they use scientifically when identifying race. Anyway, I'm Asian. This is a forum so expect they are from everywhere and when they write local slang you don't get like the idioms you don't normally hear from an Asian mouth, that means they from English speaking countries.

Any reason in particular you hate the sites? I understand not using them to post yourself, but I do think the're good resource to keep track of different projects, companies, people, etc.

 Because they are all part of the "Total Information Awareness" project and are designed to hoover up every personal detail about everyone to feed into AI so they can learn how to control and manipulate us more effectively.

Asia is big and populous among the continents. I think it is in asia that cryptocurrency will utilized for its full potentia  because of its population. More user means more adoption,more applications, transactions etc.

If you ask Google the term mongoloid is considered "dated - offensive" but obviously you're not offended by it.

I can't think of any of those idioms off the top of my head but I know I've seen some funny ones over the years. Particularly from Indians. I've had an indian guy tell me he would stick his finger in my eye out of anger.

I saw there only one guy besides me, which is accurate because our local board (Spanish) doesn't have too much activity.

I believe there are fewer than 20 active users from the Spanish board doing important contributions to the forum.

i personally don't think that the spread and the interest towards bitcoin depends on the race or the color of the skin but on the interest towards the crypto of the various populations and perhaps from the technological development of the countries

i think "native american/aboriginal" is not really a single race,
btw those people also where immigrants to northamerica/australia.

and the dutch and spanish also where immigrants to north american before the english and the germans...

true asian are only the east asians (china, japan, koreas) to a lesser extgent south east asians), indians look almost like middle easterners or latin americans.

indians don't fall into the category europeans/westerners distinguish indians and chinese quite strictly nowadays.

This is what I was getting at, yes. While India is a part of Asia there are obvious and distinct differences in physical appearance, culture, etc between someone in India and someone in Japan.

I'm going to add women to the list out of curiosity. I don't think there are many here however.

I think it's inappropriate to add it in a list of races but I admitted that it was funny somehow. Watch out dude, somebody out there might find this offensive and get triggered hahaha ;D.

And I thought there's no poll like this here on Bitcointalk, honestly, I'm not aware of the actual number or do we have exact data that can tell us how many Asians or Americans or Europeans are here but this poll will give us an indication, our only indicator is the local boards, but there are people who are not active in their respective local boards, I'm from Asian which in this poll is the second most number of poll but I expect this to grow as there are still many Asians not yet voting here.

Thanks for the responses so far everyone. Hoping this gets a little more attention. I was aiming for something like 500 to 1000 responses but it doesn't look like it'll get there. Maybe with some time the numbers will keep piling up.

I am white and English, but a bit ashamed about it. Our nation has a history of treating other people from other countries quite appallingly, particularly if their skin happens to be a different colour. Nowadays England's power in the world is waning, at the same time as our arrogance and self-importance is increasing.

Fortunately the internet gives us some freedom from our skin colour and our nationality - and more emphasis is on our personality. Although the anonymity gives people the freedom to be rude and obnoxious without fear of any comeback - particularly on Twitter.

The day when a majority of population becomes ashamed of themselves for no reason marks the end of this population as is. Such a nation has no future, this is why any conqueror is trying to impose such agenda on his subjective nation.

Modern conqueror is an aggressive minority of illegal migrants which is backed by private organizations and their pocket media. They do nothing useful for the countries they move to, only whining about their problems at home and preaching the values of multiculturaliism to locals. This is actually a nice poll and it catches my attention. So far the whites are in the lead by 49% and followed asian with 34%. I am an asian and I came from the Philippines. I hope the poll will be per country so that we can finally see where is the country that has the largest community in this forum. But this poll is also good and I will check it out after a month to see if we the Asians have overtake and be the number 1 in the poll.

I’m black and African, but you’ll probably think differently when you read my posts on social media. Your race and background becomes important in a setting where discussions are made affecting your background/race. It paints a better picture when people take social media actions to influence decisions that affect their hometown.

No one makes you inject your race into these discussions. If you willingly do so, then that is your fault and no one else's.

There is no hidden agenda here. This is as far from scientific as possible. Just looking for the distribution of people that use this forum. When you're an inquisitive human this is the shit you do.

The bigger question is, Are you running your race backward?
