Community still believes in Ethereum 2.0 despite scaling challenges

Oh yes, I think ETH 2.0 will really bring some positive vibes in the ecosystem. Lots of enthusiasts are waiting for this specially solving the scaling issue which Ethereum has been facing specially in the last two years or so. I believed that they really very serious in tackling it, that's why they are busy promoting this ETH 2.0.

What are your thoughts about this one? Do you think that we will see some bull run when ETH 2.0 are released early next year?

Ethereum will stay with us like litecoin. Even the purposes of litecoin like ASIC resistant kind of things had been nullified some long time back itself, it is one of the highly reputed crypto due to its fame like why it was created even it was criticized as a clone of bitcoins. Similarly, IEO and other crowd funding developments may bring no room for ethereum to grow more, it may stay attractive among investors just like another crypto to diversify their risks.

Ethereum 2.0 may not bring ICO to be active like in 2017. But, definitely may provide some positive vibes into crypto community. When some new revolutionary technology would be innovated like how ethereum was celebrated on its arrival, who knows ethereum may test again $1000 too.

My thought is the ETH developer said some controversy before the launch of ETH 2.0 to create a drama and getting attention from the community. Afterward, they introduce the update to the community that solves the scalability and boosts the utility. As we can see, the biggest project ETH face right now is scalability and back then scalability was on their paper but then it got deleted. I assume they knew ETH will face the problem with its scalability and they have prepared it for today.

I do not know if the bull run will happen because of this but I am pretty sure ETH will get momentum because of this.

This is the last chance for ETH to make things better, because science 2017 there were absolutely nothing from Vitalik and his team. The last hardfork, was a garbage, that brought only disappointment and ETH 2.0 should help to fix this image.

My apologies to the ETH fans out there, but I couldn't resist the temptation.
A lot of people say that sharding is unsolvable. It's interesting to see how ETH 2.0 will solve the problem.

It's pretty biased to say the community supports ETH of course because the participants of that said ETH devcon are obviously fans of Ethereum. Despite this, i do still personally believe in ETH 2.0 and proof-of-stake and am quite confident it will be glorious once it is released.

ETH is definitely a huge BULL run in the making.

We have a lot of chain will solve the sharding like Elrond, For me ETH 2.0 will not affect the entire market and people pay attention because ETH 2.0 is so very fast than other blockchain. And I think its only for hype.

ETH is in decline and it's keeping value by the inertion from the endless ICO's.

A few months ago I started courses on how to create DAPPs. While it's much more easiest to make a DAPP for Ethereum, the user base /the targeted base/ is moved to Tron and EOS.
IMO ETH 2.0, if ever starts, will not bring the necessary energy to stop this decline.

The community was very excited about Ethereum's Constantinople hard fork, and we thought after the fork, Ethereum and other's altcoin price will be in the bull run, but nothing mentionable happened that time. So, I don't think Ethereum's 2.0 can boost the whole altcoins market into a bull run, Ethereum has no power to move the crypto market, only Bitcoin has. After the 2.0 upgrade, the Ethereum price can go for a little jump and we can hope for good.

Basically Eth 2.0 is coming to solve scaling issues, i believe that if these upgrades result in faster and cheaper transactions on eth network in a smooth manner irrespective of amount of transactions then it will be a huge success and we will see Eth value flying as well, technically eth is already placed nicely for a big bull run but i think it just needs that super fundamental push and im sure the wait for eth supporters and holders is not long now before we hear the slogans of to the moon yet again.

The more interesting thing is can you do 99% of Ethereum's REAL use-cases (so no kitties crap or World of Warcraft or real-time poker on top of the blockchain) without scalability issues and security nightmare which Ethereum contracts are. This problem is definitely a billion dollar problem (maybe more considering ETH marketcap). I think we in Ergo are about solving the problem, the basic contracts in Ergo are defined in the special WP https://ergoplatform.org/docs/ErgoScript.pdf, which has some follow-ups:  https://ergoplatform.org/docs/AdvancedErgoScriptTutorial.pdf and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3FlM_WOwBU (paper: https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-31500-9_16 )

Ok let's say give Ethereum the benefit of the doubt here. It looks like they're really working very hard on this project of them (ETH 2.0) to bring back the confidence of investors and hope that the price could go on another boost after the released next year. And let's see if it will really solved their scaling issue, I mean ETH is still quite fast today, but they want to improved it because of so many competitions out there. But for those who thinks that it will bring back the 2017 glory days of altcoin, I doubt it, this is just a small steps to just shows the the people behind this project is still doing and keep it active because they really know that other crypto are hot on their tail and future ICO/IEO would choose other platforms to run their projects on mainnet not name Ethereum.

Yep, it could really bring some positive signs for Ethereum supporters in the long run. And who really knows, we might see it crosses $1k again, Lol. Last time we got there, it was a good and happy moment for everyone, early January-February 2018 when bitcoin was already on a downward spiral, Ethereum was making its run to a new all-time-high.

Ethereum 2.0 may not bring ICO to be active like in 2017. But, definitely may provide some positive vibes into crypto community. When some new revolutionary technology would be innovated like how ethereum was celebrated on its arrival, who knows ethereum may test again $1000 too.

I agree that there's competition and Ethereum is not that dominant anymore and up to today you will notice projects making exodus, to Tron and EOS and even BNB mainnet. But I believed that Ethereum can rise to the occasions and meet their competition with this new released next year.

What do you expect from crypto community? They are definitely going to be positive in light on the new development in ethereum. The only thing that I really bothered is that why it took too long for them to developed and released the new version.

Maybe they are just waiting for the bear market to be over, unfortunately it's not the case. So they better be ready to go on live January next year otherwise the community might grow tired of waiting again.

Whether or not ETH 2.0 actually gets the job done in terms of scalability, people are still going to be using the ETH platform (whether for good or for bad, that is), given how many tokens are currently hosted on their ERC20 protocol already.

However, if scalability can be tackled, then ETH should be able to break its long term bear market against BTC. It could at least see a fraction of its ATH of 0.1+ BTC per ETH, imo.

But at the end of the day, this is one of the downfalls of investing in the altcoin with the most market cap currently - there isn't really a lot of upside even with this supposedly groundbreaking development. The main argument for ETH bagholders is the "flippening", because of the smart contracts etc. that ETH has over BTC, but they fail to consider that there will be coins with better technology out there in the future.

I'm sure there will be a price increase because of the launch of Ethereum 2.0. but that won't make the community forget that the real problem hasn't been solved. scalability, still an interesting discussion so far, because until now there is still no solution to solve it.

those who are passionate about 2.0 are the people who are waiting for the consensus POS. they hope that with the launch of 2.0, ethereum will have 2 consensus (POW & POS) and there will be many who hold ETH again in the future.

Obviously they still believe in Ethereum you can easily tell on how they perform in the market, any development will be welcome by the community, of course, if you are investing in Ethereum you want more updates that will solve existing issues, and this is the best time to fix that issues when market will soon move up.

I guess they just want to equate time with halving bitcoin. with so many updates happening next year, it will definitely lead to a big pump. this is what devs ethereum planned. if they release it now the impact that has been generated for ethereum and the crypto market will not be large, because the market is still trendown.

I am sure that Ethereum 2.0 will not bring anything good for this coin and its price will not rise. The price of Ethereum depends primarily on the number of new projects appearing on its blockchain, and their number is constantly decreasing. This is the reason why Ethereum 2.0 will not help the growth of its price.

Ethereum really took the Bitcoin model and revamped it well, keeping it true to it's original design (i.e being open source & decentralized). I think Ethereum is the closet thing to being a Bitcoin 2.0. I can see why people have faith and believe in the project so much, despite scaling issues, old consensus algorithms or any other shortcomings, because it is an excellent project, has a good team, and a very strong community.

They announced the Ethreum 2.0 before and even did the FORK, but we are not experiencing the full model of this 2.0
I still believe that Ethereum will make it again and they will have a big run before the year ends and especially more next year.
This 32 Ethereum POS will be a big impact on its price and demand. i am ready for it and just waiting to start!

It was proposed 32 ETH, but I heard that it should be changed to 10 ETH

Can anyone please confirm is this true or not?

you are confusing "hoping for a pump" with "believing in the project".
ethereum is one of the altcoins with the most number of naive bag holders. these bag holders are always hoping to see their massive losses be covered and maybe eventually even see some profit after a couple of years of brutal losses.
that is why they are currently so hopeful to see the pumps eventually start with the 2.0 nonsense. but if you actually check the project, the upgrade,... you can see that nothing is going to really change about ethereum. it is still the same centralized broken project with unlimited supply and no usage ever since ICO hype died.

Its too early to start condemning what have not been launched already, whether ETH 2.0 is going to be better or not its only a matter of time, what i know is if ETH is going to be in bad shape after the upgrade then all tokens are doom and there will be more losses to investors

I dont know why people keep saying that eth's is now not good in fact the 2.0 upgrade is really an amazing progress they advance through. Price of the market is always like that, s why based the development to it. It's quite disappointing that many of people hsre think of eth as garbage now. Well better dump youre coins and some will be happy to filled it. You dont know how precious gem is eth amongst other altcoins.

We need Ethereum 2.0. The Ethereum network can process from 15 to 21 transactions per second and the average transfer commission in recent years is from 50 to 20 cents. The competitors of TRON and EOS process hundreds and thousands of transactions and make it many times cheaper. So I just hope Buterin will launch Ethereum 2.0. as soon as possible, 'cause people can switch to its competitors without any doubt. Actually it's already happening.

Seems like when Bakkt announced, too many FUDs and thoughts that maybe affects the failed or not so impact release of Bakkt. This ETH 2.0 might be a way to solve all the limiting beliefs we have put in ETH. This already address the scaling problem that maybe solved somehow or even a bit when 2.0 released. There is always room for improvement the 2.0 can be result for another 3.0 and etc to give a better and more satisfying platform everything is a step by step process all we need is a improvement and a solution for every problems.

I have some Eth so I am hoping that a big bull run can happen to this coin by 2020. Good to see that maybe developers working for Ethereum are now really so serious in making sure that scalability problems are solved once and for all. This problem has been hounding the network for the past many months and it is time they tackled it with the focus on effectively answering the said malady. I know that there are people who are criticizing and do not believe on Ethereum and its leader Vitalik Buterin but I still see a big potential of this cryptocurrency and what it can offer in the future. As the next in line to Bitcoin, it must shape up, innovate a lot and always be on its feet for new challenges ahead.

People are quick to believe in anything that can imply that their investment will go up, it's called wishful thinking. Few crypto investors want to do an unbiased analysis of the coins that they hold, and few posses the necessary knowledge to do so. So, generally people just follow opinions of other people - in the last bubble everyone was euphoric about ICO's, thinking it's the future of investing and that they will change the world, now everyone became more careful. So, these sentiment measurements don't reflect the reality well.

Ethereum has also admitted about their scaling challenge and I think that is the reason they are coming with the Ethereum 2.0. I mean one of the reasons, so they are trying also to get things better with their system which I believe that they will surely get it right when the Ethereum 2.0 is being released.

Ethereum has been an old project that has satisfied people to this level where they are having challenge, and rather than focusing on their challenge, all we could just do is to also assist them in looking at things that can be done to solve all the challenges they are having which I believe that we have so many developers that are gurus and could suggest the solution for them if we really have any. Ethereum will still grow and I believe in their 2.0 project.
