Title: Ether Thieves - Ethereum based multiplayer game
Post by: mike_spr on October 19, 2019, 01:04:55 AM
Hi all! I'm developing Ether Thieves, a game powered by Ethereum, and would love to have your feedback about it:

https://etherthieves.com

At this point it's in the Ropsten test network so you can play with test(fake) Ether.

Have fun!

Tried this out
bought a ship, went into battle, a {BOT} started shooting at me, but when i shoot back and hit it it takes zero damage  :( lol
it kills me while its still at 100 hp
is the bot too strong for me to damage? or...?
nice start of a game you have here! :)

Why don't you try to present this in a more detailed and attractive manner? I can see that somebody here has already tried your game and had fun I assume. Well, since this is still in its infancy stage, so I guess you still have more interesting in store for us. I am thinking of an ANN-like presentation of your project, complete with features in a nice graphic presentation.

I have played it, and the killboard does not seem alright because I had killed 4 Bots but my name did not appear.
and when my HP was 50%, I looked for a medic and after I acquired it nothing happened, the Bot did not appear as strong as Cjmapope described.

Indeed, actually I haven't try it and i'm looking forward to see more information about it that can help me not only me but also for everyone who's interested. It should provide more information so that people can easily understand how it works or how they can play it, in that way people won't be confuse right? I know that i'm not the only one who's pretty interested about this, i'm going to check these out since it has good feedback and I think its the best way to spend my leisure time.

Ether Thieves doesn't load on an old Brave Browser. The main page shows some content (pics/text) without CSS loading and so on and then goes white blank.

The game is properly loading on Chrome but I don't have a Metamask there.

You may want to test it more extensively :)

In general, the game looks good, but there are much more successful crypto games (for example, Gods Unchained). I mean games that are still in beta testing, but look much more promising than this game. I hope your game gets better over time.

Thank you very much for all your feedback, very much appreciated! Me and my team are working to have a new version soon, with better information and bugs fixed.

Javi_Anibarro thanks for pointing it out, that's one of the issues we fixed for next version.

NathanJB what you mean by a ANN-like presentation?

crazy-pilot you mean the website or the game itself? We are indie developers, don't have same resources as Gods Unchained but we're going to launch a new crypto that will be the currency of this game (and maybe others) that hopefully will help us have more resources to make it great has we envisioned it.

Another feedback from me.
When I played it and killed the bot, the system said I get a reward and when I looked at my balance on Metamask, the balance increased.
But I did not get any notification on the screen telling me about this, if you want to release a new version, I think you should pay attention to this. History is important for some people because we can track rewards and transactions.

True, that makes sense. There's a popup when saying to check metamask later but there should be another notification when the funds arrive. Thanks again!

Pretty cool. Needs some players though. Why don't you have a faucet that allows 1 free ship every hour or so?

Tried this out

No something is wrong. Why didn't you just try again? You can play this game forever and not die and just keep killing bots. It says you must look at your metamask to see your prize after a bit kill but I don't know I saw nothing. Maybe because it is Ropsten and not the main network? I'm not sure. The game definitely works though.

Gods Unchained is a card game this totally different. That game is way over priced 1 eth for a booster???

Thanks for the feedback Mike Mayor, did you check it after how much time? Usually it takes a minute or so until the transaction is confirmed, but might take more.

Where do I check it? If I look at metamask it is not there. It should be under custom tokens, right? Do I have to add them? I don't know how to check an address through the Ropsten network.
Are those real players up on the leader board or just made up? As far as I can tell there is no way to actually score in this game.

Those are real players Mike, if you sink a ship you should be listed on the leaderboard. Did you get any error message in Metamask? You're connected to Ropsten network there right?
