Over the years, Litecoin has been reliable for surging when BTC price pops.  Last winter I bought 15 LTC at $30 each, along with many other alt coins.  However, I foolishly didn't sell it at $140 a few months later and the price has retreated.

So I'll be ready for the next price cycle.  Buy low sell high!  When I feel the price has bottomed, I will buy hundreds of LTC.

I didn't sell my LTC for $140 in June because I thought BTC was beginning its next huge price swing, and it didn't last.  Like me in my wife, it shot its load too soon.   :o

Can't fault you for thinking ltc would go higher, because it seemed like a sure thing for a while there that most altcoins would, but the crypto market has a way of giving a reality check to all of us at some time or another.  I'm not so sure ltc is the best coin to be buying right now, but I don't think it's the worst by any means.  It'll be one of the ones that survives while the lesser quality ones will be headed towards zero.

At least you get that fundamental principle of investing instead of what most people are doing now, which is staying out of the market.  Litecoin may not have bottomed just yet, but it's probably close.  I wouldn't wait too long before backing up the truck.

ya litecoin is kinda like doge in that sense, usually has a good pump once a year or so

LTC could have been as big as BTC price wise if it had a slightly different inception, its a great coin

Whenever litecoin has a dip, the all market has a dip not only litecoin but I understand your point of view as Litecoin one day I think it will secure back that number 2 spot on coinmarketcap. If you're expecting only the bottom to buy , you may miss it if you somehow don't have low placed buy orders to secure the coins when a dump occur.

Litecoin is already cheap right now. I treat $50ish price of Litecoin as cheap already. It is always easy for Litecoin to hit $100. That is an unarguable fact. No worries for having not sold yours at $140. It will not take a couple of months for Litecoin to hit another $140 and even higher. My Litecoin's are not for selling even at $140. I will wait for the $300 level before a portion of it will hit the exchange for selling.

The price of LTC rose around the time of its halving. It has always done so. The next halving of litecoin would occur in 1384 days. That's more than 3 years and 9 months. That's a long time to wait. But there's another popular coin about to go through another halving soon. Within the next year. Could anyone guess the coin?

I was able to sell my LTC those days since I regretted not selling or cashing out some of my alts and BTC in 2017 ATH. I already learned my lesson on setting realistic amount only. But LTC is no doubt a good investment that can wait anytime since it's price never falls too low, I'll try to buy LTC one of this days again.

If you chose a good coin on their low time, you'll always make a profit if you have patience to hold it. So, it would be a good idea to keep at least 5 different popular and trusted coins and buy them on their lower price while sell on higher. Halving generally increases the price of a mineable coin as it would mean decrease in amount of coin issued in the same interval of time.

I guess you may not see LTC price will go down at $30 again this time unless there is a big dump on bitcoin, so that will affect all of the altcoins too. Maybe the price will go down below $50, but to get down lower than $40, I am not sure. It is okay if you miss the chance to sell your LTC at $140 because I am sure you will see it in the next bull run. Maybe you need to adjust your buy price, so you don't have to hope to see the LTC price will be at $30 again.

Litecoin (LTC) will always be my favorite investment. Talking about the lowest price of LTC so we can buy later and
hold until it reaches the target sell that we want. I think right now almost all coins including LTC have entered a low price
to buy. I also bought LTC recently, and hope that later this year there will be an increase in LTC prices. But as we know LTC
the ascending process is rather slow, but one day it will rise to the top too. All it takes is a high level of confidence and patience.

That is greedy for you, no matter what coin you are holding on right now if you keep that mindset the result will stay the same.
there is no low and high if you do not put the numbers, that is fine if you are holding it again but make sure to set your high to prevent this from happening again.
Litecoin is a legit investment like Ethereum, it will survive this bear market and when the bull starts always remember to not being greedy again and always secure at least half of the profit. And use the rest for holding or waiting for a higher profit.

in fact, things like this happen very often, especially for those who have coins who are pumping. yes, we are sometimes fooled by the news that sometimes says "bitcoin will touch the new ATH this year" "altcoin price recovery" and others, so we skip the train just like that.

I think LTC is quite influenced by the price of bitcoin. if you pass the price of $ 140, you need to wait again for now. we are all waiting for the new ATH that can be achieved from the coins we hold. if the price of bitcoin starts to recover at the end of the year, I think it will affect LTC again and you get your chance again.

Litecoin may have been the most underdog altcoins throughout the years despite being one of the best performers when it comes to crypto winters. Sure there may had been lots of dumps that happened over the course of 2 years, stemming mainly from community division and whatnot, but one cannot deny the fact that LTC has been pretty solid and consistent even with the likes of ETH and DASH taking over the scene.

I do not understand why people are still shilling Litecoin. For me it is a testnet for Bitcoin, nothing else. Why would you use Litecoin, when you have Lightning Network? Litecoin palns to add privay feature, but Bitcoin can also add this feature.  :)

Litcoin mining rewards are getting smaller so that the rarity of litcoin will occur but remember that if it is not yet the altcoin season, litcoin will be difficult to ascend. so I thought litcoin would still be able to fall back and I would buy some litcoin when it fell.

it is a terrible idea and generatlly speaking when it comes to altcoins you should never do something like this, meaning to buy them in their dip. because altcoin drops are different from regular dips in some real legit asset like stocks,... altcoin drops are drops which is 99% of the times their bubble burst and their over all long term dump. which means it is not a dip (aka a drop that is going to reverse) it is a regular drop (drop that is not going to reverse, instead will go down more).

the correct strategy when buying altcoins is to buy them when they are starting to pump instead. which means when you saw the price is starting to rise fast and a big volume is being injected in the market pumping the price up. that is when you should buy.

It's a decent idea and has solid reasoning, but you where talking about different times. Previously, ICOs where the hottest thing and when BTC and other altcoins got dumped, they rose back up and the altcoins followed.

Nowadays, altcoins don't care about anything and they don't follow the price movements of Bitcoin now. Look at Ethereum as an example, that thing has been all red in the past months and you need to take all the knowledge you have from trading and throw it out of the window. It's a different time now altcoins might never actually recover.

if you still hold litecoin with a very large amount like that then there is a very smart choice because the price of liteoin has a very good potential to be able to get a lot of profit when the price of bitcoin rises, the price of litecoin will also follow, litecoin is also a coin legend that still can stand firm until now.

If I were you, I would sell it for $ 140 and wait again when the price goes down to buy. But basically you do not lose if you sell it right now. So it's better to keep it again until it really matches the desired price. Lol its always a really good opportunity when big altcoins dip in price, its a good sign for buying, i still hope bitcoin can drop back to 5k all i will gladly put in lots of money, but its advisable to always sell when you see profits and wait again for another price drop

This strategy is perfect for short-term investments, right? For long-term investment, maybe the right time to buy altcoin is when prices start to fall. Buy and hold for long-term investments and set profit targets. Investment is an activity carried out in the hope of getting a profit. I think the profit target in one type of crypto investment must be determined in advance, because prices are very volatile and high volatility.

After the last bull run many investors regret not selling because they thought the price would not go down anytime but we're wrong. Not selling when the price is on peak price is a common mistake of an investor so sometimes its better to sell once you see the price is increasing.

LTC is a good coin and worth to hold for long period, I already sell my ltc before after seeing an opportunity to take profit. Now im planning to buy again when the price is much cheaper.

This is something very important that bitcoin enthusiast must come in notice. Too much an expectation will turn out against itself. As we barely see the path a head you may feel as though there would be a huge ride up in the market.  But I'm glad you did continue doing your stuff here. Majority would've quit as bull run didn't happen so a while now. On the other hand, regret is a huge factor swallowing up whole those who quit. Thanks for sharing this by the way!

Personally, I watched this interesting Litecoin coin for a very long time and every time I wish to buy it. And all the time I put off the purchase of this coin. At first I began to thoroughly analyze the market and then decided to buy some of these coins. And he did it in such a way that this investment would bring me very good profit in the future. I am sure that in the near future this coin will become very stable in this market.

It is really risky decision to buy LTC when it dips more because the market is still bearish. The bearish market consists of lower lows and higher lows and the selling pressure is really high so the chances of its price to go down is very high.

the only chance that litecoin had was its halving to get a big pump but since the pump failed at that time and many of those who bought it in the hopes of that pump ended up either losing their money or best case scenario didn't make any profit, they all gave up on LTC.
this means that next time a pump is building up, people may not trust it and may not buy it as enthusiastic as they should be buying it and that means yet another failed pump attempt.

LTC is one of the most undervalued coins on the market, in my opinion it has a lot of advantages in front of BTC, especially the transaction speed and transaction costs and the fact that one of the oldest altcoins costs around 70 bucks is very surprising.

yes I understand what you mean, I personally also added a number of LTC to my wallet, but honestly I used to use LTC only as a necessity, I mean like for transactions. but over time I started using this for long term investment too. I am sure this altcoin has great potential in the future.

15 LTC at $30 each?? You're lucky to buy that 15 Litecoin at that cheap price even if you did not sell that at its all-time high you are still in profit, and you should not sel it at this point of time Bitcoin halving is coming and when Bitcoin move up all the coins are going to move up also and that includes Litecoin, I will be happy if I can sell it at three times profit, but it still a good time to accumulate more. 

I often experience things like this in trading, the most peak when prices continue to rise in 2017, almost as long as cryptocurrency to the moon. All I do is sell when it hasn't fully peaked yet, but I realize I'm sorry there's no point and I don't know it will go up that high either. What you will do to buy LTC is a good choice, but you also need to understand the market situation. In my opinion the market could have done the reverse with last year's price history.

When I did buting at dips before, I experienced loss when I buy at dips because I thought that the price is now cheap and there is a dip that happens again. I cut my position because I know that it will go down more. LTC is a good coin but I do not have plan to buy dips at it.

That is actually a good plan, ltc several times has been a better choice than btc, the rising is pretty good, and there are some rumors mention that something big is waiting to happen, I already stock some ltc for long time investment and if a lot of people think like this then maybe ltc could bring a lot of profit in the future

The track record of Litecoin is clear enough that it is not a disappointing coin nor a disappointing project. When I buy at a dip thinking that it is already hitting the lowest point and it turned out that I was wrong, I would rather HODL it rather than sell it with a loss with the goal of cutting my loss. That is not practical for me.  At the end of the day, there will always be a rebound for Litecoin.

don't give up because there is still another chance. Litecoin is still worth investing, so your decision to buy more is not wrong. but the advice is always to use the target every time you trade, because the target is very important. don't be a greedy person, you feel it more. so try not to experience the same thing in the future.

yes you're right, rather than selling it better to wait a little longer. because ltc is one good altcoin. so sooner or later in the end the coin will surely rise. and one more buy is also good, it will increase profits when the price rises later. I also sometimes do this. rather than selling, buying more is more profitable. what more for large coins like litecoin.

I couldn't care less what Litecoin is ever used for.  If it is ever used for anything.  All I care about is Buy Low + Sell High = PROFITS!!!!!

Last winter I watched the LTC price steadily dribbling downwards.  I could have bought it at $23, but I was waiting for it to get under $20.  Then it started going up, so I had to do an OSHITHURRYUPANDBUYNOW!!!!! thing.  And I got in at $30.

I'm hoping for similar price moves this winter.  If I'm lucky I will time the bottom a little better.

Litecoin has probably been the biggest coin decline in the last 3 months and this is considered a very good opportunity to buy cheap because I believe that in the next few months LTC will have many new growth. The current price of $54 is a very cheap price and if you choose to invest in the long term, this will be an investment worth waiting for in the near future. I personally believe that LTC will soon have many big changes and this coin will increase in the spring of 2020.

Of course, everyone wants to make a profit in this market but choosing the right time to invest is very difficult because the big fluctuations can greatly affect your investment.

Instead of selling at a loss to prevent more losses, one could instead buy more so that by the time the price changes direction, you will have more profit. And one more thing, a loss in terms of USD price value is not really a loss. It is just the price moving. But if you decide to sell, then that is what loss means. That cannot be recovering its price anymore because you are already selling it at a cheaper one.

Are you sure you want to do that? think more rationally, because maybe the price round doesn't happen. Act according to market conditions, I'm sure many experience the same thing as you. When prices are low it's a good place to buy but it would be better not to wait for high profits and try to sell at definite profits.

I have bought litecoin as well and have been holding it for months but I only have a certain goal and I'm not aiming for a very high profit because that could only result in losses in the future. We should know how to set limits and control our emotions even during the hype. Litecoin has a huge potential and I have no doubt that if we'll only wait for the right time to sell, we'll surely gain a good profit through it.

LTC is a great investment. Every Bitcoin price pumps help the Litecoin and other major altcoins too. Though I haven't seen a normal big growth in Litecoin without the Bitcoin price increases. When LTC hit 145$, Bitcoin wast hitting almost 14K USD, so that was normal! Right now the crypto market condition is not that good, so, it is the right time to buy some Litecoin, Bitcoin, and others, and you made a good choice! I hope very soon Litecoin price will grow with the Bitcoin price!

Litecoin is really one of the promising cryptos in the market. It would be a great investment despite of the negative market behavior we are having at this moment. You may also consider other cryptos such as XRP, BTC and the likes but I would still remind you of the risk if you would invest huge amount of money on these coins. The market still is showing complexity and no assurance yet on when will recovery take place. So be mindful of the amount that you would invest, only invest an amount you can afford to lose.

If you bought it from $30, you made the wrong choice by expecting a price above $140. I am sorry, but it is greed. The expected halving of LTC and Charlie's tweet would not remain an effective news until the end and you should act consdering that. In the next days I do not think there will be any news expected from LTC, probably it will go up when the market rises. You should learn from this mistake and be more careful in the future.

I am not sure the price of LTC is currently affordable for buying a lot, the situation can change to even worse if the market participants don't want to wait for the pullback on the crypto charts. The difference between the previous and recent years can speak for itself and considering the changes in the altcoin market buying the worthful coins looks a better investment to me.

It was quite a good time when LTC hit $140 in the previous years but now its down due to dump situation in the market but yes its good time to buy litecoin as its cheap now and when btc will surge its also going to hit $140 or even higher again so i am going to hodl it until that time to gain much higher profits.

Buying worthy alts give investors a chance to earned a lot once the market start to pull up and bounce  to the last ATH, every investors have it's own mindsets to where to position their investment entry and what will be the set for the sell targets.

Bullish pressure on Litecoin (LTC) seems to have run out of steam. My analysis that cryptocurrency tends to repeat its historical cycle and LTC prices also seem to be repeating the cycle that brought it to an all-time low around the $ 20 price level. I personally am very hesitant to invest in LTC at this time.
