Title: Quantum resistant Alts
Post by: jamesashmore1964 on October 24, 2019, 03:49:57 AM
My research indicates Cardano will be Quantum resistant.
Please add to the list:
Projects that are not quantum resistant will not have good futures: opinion

Opinion:
"Quantum resistant" will become the new "ASIC resistant"
a hype term to make those that dont know better spend their money :P

What does "Quantum resistant" even MEAN, really? NEW algos will have to be developed for the most part

quantum resistant...lol Mother BTC has ALWAYS been "Quantum resistant" :D

COMB is an example of quantum resistant token. It does not use ECDSA which was shown to be susceptible to quantum attacks.

temtum - is another quantum resistant token. Then there is Quantum Resistant Ledger Coin (QRL).

I cannot comment on these tokens because I haven't studied them thoroughly.

COMB tokens are secured by a cryptologic haircomb - a novel construct that uses SHA256 to construct a provably single use signature system. The same approach is also used for doublespend detection and uses hash commitments for anonymity.

At least it's much better for you to show the result of your research about what makes cardano will be a quantum-resistant coin.
AFAIK, all about quantum computer is only speculation only and some big companies like google are still developing it right now.
I don't even think a computer that worth millions of dollars must be used to mine crypto to get a little penny.
I'm waiting for you to publish what aspects that make you feel you can call cardano will be quantum-resistant.  :D Something like AES that some people argued if that can give protection from quantum computer.

I heard that Komodo also integrates quantum resistant digital signature in its ecosystem.
But I believe that the threat of quantum computers is exaggerated at the present time.

I'd like to argue that ALL coins right now are quantum resistant. Most of all because there simply no such thing as quantum computers at this day and age. I've read about google's claims of creating the first quantum computer but like Vitalik Buterin says, that thing is quite far from being useful.

So I wouldn't really worry about quantum resistance right now. It only seems like a marketing stunt to say that a coins is "quantum resistant." lol.

All crypto currencies need to have as good security to not be broken by quantum computers. That is a must. If cryoto currency is not secure anymore then it is not a real currency anymore. You cant have a currency that someone can simply forge or steal from you.  Currently all cryptocurrencies are quantum resistant. In future cryptocurrencies will just need to adjust their algorithms. Yes the abandoned cryptocurrencies with no development will fail at that. There are plenty of clones that after they been cloned they stay intact.
