People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form.

The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting.
This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.

Time will tell. Now is the time to position.

No wonder why, people are already adopting and accepting digital currency like bitcoin. Some people finally understand how a digital currency works, maybe they realize its value and the advantage on using it. Just like them i'll also choose digital, because it can be used for a lot of other things and its less hassle in making transactions and payments.

Ehh. Sample size(7461) is too small to be honest, and the poll took place on Twitter, where a lot of bitcoin and crypto people likes to spend some of their time. So the result is nothing surprising to be honest. The "digital currency" vote could probably be around 30% if more non tech-savvy boomers voted on that specific poll.

Excluding the people who doesn't use twitter or any other kind of social media platform. There are still a lot of people who has no idea about this technology outside the internet world. Of course, those who are already in crypto space will probably choose "digital currency". We cannot make a conclusion out of a poll from Twitter.

Yes, the survey was carried out on twitter and we know that on twitter there are many crypto users so we should not be surprised here. But if the survey was conducted in actual conversation and asked a random person I'm sure little or no would vote for Digital Currencies.

The fact shows how cryptocurrency is now in dominance in the market. Since most of the people chose to have crypto instead of fiats, we can infer that most of the transactions nowadays are transitioning from banks to wacryptowallet address. In this regard, more market adoption awaits when we continue to spend using cryptocurrency.

We are now entering the digital era where money is not anymore circulated physically but done electronically. And of course, cryptocurrency is coming at the time when people's interest with digitalization is peaking. Digital payments means convenience as you are not anymore obliged to be bringing lots of fiat money wherever you are going and the money can be transferred to anyone, anytime and anywhere in the world. We are living in a very exciting era and I am so happy and proud to have become a part of this digital age. And I guess this is just the tip of the iceberg, more developments, more infrastructure and more services will be coming our way soon. There is no way that digitalization can be stopped.

We all know that some social media sites especially Twitter is crowded with cryptocurrency lovers so it isn't impossible for most of them to choose digital currency in that survey. The result will still depend on the people who are answering that survey. I'm sure that people who aren't aware of crypto will choose cash over digital currency but if I were to be asked, it should still depends on the amount of gift.

If you ask in this forum for those of us who are in the crypto world, surely we want the gift in the form of digital currency, because here is the crypto community, and we love trading and investing in cryptos that we have benefited from. Transactions with cryptocurrencies are very fast and there are no intermediaries and the prices are very volatile, that's it makes us happy

Yup, but if he asked for people out there, I think people will choose to accept the gift as cash because they can use that money to buy something that they need. But in the future, if cryptocurrency has spread in all countries and all people know the benefits of cryptocurrency, the people will choose crypto than cash. They can use crypto for many things, and it's not just online but for offline life too.

This shows the increase in the awareness of bitcoin among the common people. Earlier none could've known about it and preferred cash or gift cards. Now the scenario has changed and I find the growth happening with digital currencies to be the best compared to the other forms of gifting. A gift is something kept safe for years. More the days we keep it safe more will be the value.

Digital money has used it a lot, in the polls in Twiter showing that cryptocurrency can be civilized with the people around it, because receiving clear prizes people will choose digital, and I think we need time to prove that digital is widely known in the community.

Bitcoin definitely for me. I don't need any cash, and in case I am gifted cash for whatever reason, depending on how much it is, I'll convert it to Bitcoin directly. If the amount is low I'll just fancy myself a steak or some sushi.

I have been giving some of my family members a paper wallet loaded with 0.01BTC for their birthday, and from what I know they still haven't cashed anything out, which is an indication that they expect it to go up or at least hope it does.

The example of New Zealand which legalized salary payments in cryptocurrencies clearly shows there's a high interest in receiving cryptos as salary.

In my opinion, getting cryptocurrencies as a gift is not very different to that.

Time will tell indeed, but I reckon we will find out sooner then we think.

Small sample size, anyways, I think this questions has been asked before if I'm not mistaken, so obviously majority wanted crypto as a gift. I even read one time in reddit wherein he gave some bitcoin as a wedding git.

So definitely, it's the way people are heading now, towards digital and I'm sure inexperience or nocoiners will be surprised by definitely it's worth a try to received something in forms of bitcoin and then see how it goes.

mjglqw, sample size is much better than in most surveys where we have 1000 to maybe 2000 people, but I agree that a percentage of those who have opted for digital currency is so high because the people who voted came from Twitter, which actually represents one segment of the digital society.

Surveys can be directed towards the desired result by selecting the target group of respondents, so if they asked people over 50+ this question, the result would probably be completely different. But what should not be doubted is the fact that the demographic picture of the world is changing, old habits are dying with old people, and young generations are leading the digital revolution.

I try to find that tweet on BOE official Twitter to see final results, but it seems that it is not posted recently (in the last 3 months).

If this little survey can determine this much, talk more of those who did not participate.
The popular saying, 'the world is going digital' and 'cashless economy is evolving' is truly coming to pass.
Nobody wants to be left out anymore.
It's a good thing digital currency is becoming a popular thing soon enough it will be uncontrollable. Hopefully, the governments might reconsider their stand.

money has been turning into digital form for way longer than bitcoin has existed and also the term "digital currency" has nothing to do with "crypto-currency" or "bitcoin" for that matter. bitcoin is a type of digital currency. and when people say "digital" they usually mean other means of receiving payment that is not in hard cash like a gift card, paypal,...
so don't get too excited when seeing that poll ;)

I get what you're saying. The sample size isn't really a small number, but there's so much variety of people like different cultures, financial situations, occupations, and such that could affect their choices, that we're going to need a bigger size to get a more accurate conclusion.

I completely agree that the people are actually moving to a more digital world in general though. The boomers are getting older, and I think we're in an age that the money is already being inherited from the boomers to the millenials. It's just an upward trend from here. Hence why I think bitcoin, stocks, and other digital assets has a lot more room to grow in the next decades.

Yes, it depends on the person who will be receiving the gift, some may prefer digital currency since it is easy and faster. Some may also prefer cash because they might not have a wallet or they are not familiar with bitcoin. As for me, I prefer digital currency for me not to spend it lavishly and it is easy for me to invest it in bitcoin wherein in cash I got tempted easily to spend it.

i would say cash for now because most of the people i know that i have something to do with are not into crypto, only few are in crypto so any gift i receive interms of money from the non crypto peeps will most definitely be on cash, but if am the one sending to my friends who i know are into crypto and understand it, i would rather send using digital currency because it will save me the trouble of converting to fiat before sending.

I think a lot of people now are starting to understand that digital currencies, bitcoin for example does more good than bad unlike those televise on media, they are starting to appreciate and fully understand that digital currency cannot only provide convenient and secure transaction but can also provide better lifestyle. Anyways, I would love to receive a gift through digital currency to also help in the awareness of bitcoin.

That's a very interesting statistic actually - I didn't know crypto-currencies where that popular and I thought that bank transfers/paypal payments would easily be on top. Looks like I was wrong...

I think this is largely due to crypto-currencies/digital currencies not being regarded as everyday funds, but more an investment option. People just seem to enjoy receiving BTC or other cryptos as a present and then keeping it for the future, otherwise, they would have preferred a more traditional payment method, would they have?

Great to see adoption going up nowadays!

If I were to receive a gift, I would prefer receiving it as digital cash. I spend most of my fiat for my daily expenses and I put all my savings in crypto to avoid myself from spending it. I think it would also be more convenient giving or receivong digital cash as a gift, and you can also use to pay goods online if you want to buy something from it.

Digital cash becomes popular nowadays. Receiving digital cash is much convenient than receiving cash. It can also be store anywhere to secure that it will not be spent and will not lose any time.
We tend to receive digital cash not only to avoid spending it immediately after receiving it but also because we all feel safe to use digital cash.

I think most of the people who have choosen digital currency as a gift knows its importance and how do they actually works or say the importance of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. Moreover its good to see the increasing adoption and craze among people of these digital coins as it is not only mode of payment but can be used for varoius other things at ease so they prefer them more like an investment oppurtunity compared to fiat and gold which have less return over long time.

It's a good sign for crypto. But we can't really tell if it's real since there's only around 7,000 voters. It can't be a basis for the popularity of digital currency. And what if among those who voted, most of them are crypto users.
But honestly speaking, if I were to receive a money as a gift, I'd chose cash. Why? Because it's just a small amount of cash. No one would give me big amount of money as a gift. I will chose digital if it's a big amount of course. It's more vulnerable to bring big amount of money everywhere.

Obviously the choice would be to receive the money in digital form because there lots of advantages of money in digital form than in cash.
The most important is the convenience and ease of making transactions online. In addition to that, I believe it's much safer to store money in digital form than to keep hard cash.

Indeed and I prefer either way.  Cash or digital money, I don't care which one they send me.  It is a gift so I appreciate it no matter what its form as long as it came from the good heart of person sending it.

I doubt that they will hodl it.  I bet they will convert it to fiat the moment they receive it, well at least the people I known will do that.

Thru digital we are able to buy gifts that we wanted , in a much faster and easy way, no need to line in bank or see the sender personally. There are no reason not to give or delay the gift when its supposed to be in digital since no excuse like no time to send or no available banks to transfer. The chances that you can receive the gift is higher than when you meet personally, though it's still better to meet personally for bonding and to receive something thru forms of real present where they choose to give by themselves.

Depending on who this question was shown to, if for the forum community all of them would agree to prefer digital currency.
But if asked by ordinary people who might not understand digital currency, the answer would be to prefer cash. This is a job
it's hard for all of us to spread more positive information around the world about the importance of cryptocurrency for progress
technology that makes humans able to live even more advanced. And introduce to the outside world the advantages of cryptocurrency
so that more people are interested in investing in cryptocurreny.

This survey has been performed with most crypto users, it is expected to see that receiving digital cash is much favorable than receiving cash.
But this is still positive feedback, seeing a lot of crypto users to undergo a survey like this. This has been shown that as time pass by, we can see increasing numbers in users of cryptocurrency.

I would choose to receive money as a gift in digital. Why? There’s more benefit I can have in digital form and in case I can save and hold it for long term. A lot of opportunities for digital money so we could use it to purchase or investment in crypto. Everyone has their own ways to received the gift and at what options they are convenient to use.

Initially whiles working online i need to wait for a like a 3 days or a week in order to receive my payments in fiat from my employers but ever since cryptocurrencies got in the space i get my payments instantly. This is has been off great help as i am able to use my income instantly for any purpose.

I personally prefer hand made items or bitcoin.  ;D

We need to set one thing straight, there is a slight difference between digital currency and cryptocurrency.  In general, digital currency is the currency that circulation on the internet and has no physical form.  Cryptocurrency is included in the digital currency, but not all digital currencies are cryptocurrency.  Because Paypal, Webmoney, also includes digital currency.  get it?
Effectively, of course, digital currency is more dominant than other options in voting.

What do you mean digital if it's Cryptocurrency, give it to me anytime and provided it is one of the top coins in the market, people love to receive Cryptocurrency because everybody here knows the potential of the top coin, so if you ask people I'm 100% sure that people will love to receive Crypto as a gift.
You are very sure, but I give a note, those who want to accept cryptocurrency as a gift are just those who understand about it, if not for sure choose another digital currency that is more familiar.

It really depend son my needs at the time. I think both because I need to also make a holding of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin in particular and we also need cash for survival and other practical purposes. My Wife I am sure would rather Digital and Bitcoin gifts as she is the one most passionate about this kind of thing, even more than myself actually. I believe that for myself I would like cash, but she would prefer Bitcoin she said. I am quite surprised to see that in the survey created the majority of people wanted digital money. More young people are involved in this so this is most probably why. It is encouraging to see though.

As technology advances, of course I prefer digital currency as a gift. the reason is simple, easy to use, only need a smartphone and internet or use offline wallet as a gift. IMO, if this vote is held in all social media, maybe the digital currency will dominate all of the votes.

I don't find that survey surprising, we are currently at the stage where boomers are being replaced by millennials, for them the use of technology is mandatory, for this reason, banks have had to migrate their platforms from the physical world to the digital.

It all depends on the knowledge of the person who will be given the prize, if the person does not understand digital currency, it is likely to choose fiat currency on the grounds they do not understand how to use it.
if I personally would definitely choose a digital currency prize, especially bitcoin because it would be beneficial to increase my investment in bitcoin.
but if those who are given a gift do not understand digital currency and do not understand how to use it, you must explain the positive benefits of digital currency in detail because there is an opportunity for you to promote it.

People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form.
The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting.
This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.
The main reason why everyone prefers digital gift cards is simply because they are very well use that to purchase goods with ease and crypto will be the medium of virtual transaction, the way in which we exchange funds in the global market is not having a major change, even if you want to purchase the digital good you need to have fiat currency, so where does the change comes from :P.

I don't find that survey surprising, we are currently at the stage where boomers are being replaced by millennials, for them the use of technology is mandatory, for this reason, banks have had to migrate their platforms from the physical world to the digital.

I also am not surprised because the survey was done on twitter. If they were calling people or asking them on the street the results would be much different.
The older generation who would never choose crypto in general doesn't use social media and even when they do they don't participate in surveys. They just share their opinions and photos.

If I were asked I would choose the digital currency, because I could use it to add to my investments or I could buy coins that I think have the potential to rise in price. So that I can save on Christmas too, because we definitely spend more money on Christmas preparations and in the new year.

Any form would be good for me and I would highly appreciate it.
Cash would be great since we could meet the one who would give us the gift and personally thanks them.
But crypto would be way more better since we know that it could rise up and we could get more if we hold it.

As long as it is a gift should we have any preference ? I would go with both but if I get the chance to choose , I would love to receive the gift in digital cash as in this way I could earn way more by just keeping them into a wallet waiting for the opportunity to sell them at bigger prices. To be honest I'm thinking to switch my payments into a digital one , no matter what coin as soon as its still active and the team is working on it. There are plenty of coins who are offering gateway payments solutions for your businesses so why not giving a chance now when there are still in the early phase of adoption ?

I voted and prefer cash since i'd have more options on how or what I wanted to do with the money but that doesn't mean I hate digital currencies. I like both but i'd rather spend the money I get during Christmas and treat myself with it instead of saving it up on my wallet for that additional potential profit. Unless the amount i'll be receiving is way too much for me and I couldn't spend it all then the rest would exchanged to cryptocurrencies or hold them if it's vice versa.

That will depend on what I want to use the money for as at then and secondly on the person sending the money.
 So it goes both ways

An indication that digital currency is much known by many now. Indeed a good sign, but personally either I will receive cash or as digital currency will be useful for me as I am a hodler for a long time and it can be advantageous for me if digital currencies as a gift will be sent to my wallet. Or cash so i can spend it.

But let us think of the person who will gonna send the gift, if that person is also a crypto user then it is not difficult to send a gift like what I am doing when I wanna send some bucks to my brother.

I'm flexible and I would appreciate any means of receiving money. I won't be choosy since it's already a gift given to me so I'm willing to accept it in any ways depending on the person who'll give me money. Since Christmas is approaching, I keep on thinking about the scenario where people will give you money as a present using digital. It would be a great experience to change the traditional way since here in my country, it's common to receive money as a gift during Christmas.

Me too, if I receive money as a gift, half of it, will give to my siblings so they can buy what they want, half of it, I will buy Bitcoin as a gift for myself in the future, I love holding Bitcoin even just little  amount as I know someday it will be worth it to invest, so I am not wasting my time accumulating as much as I could. I am considering it as my long term investment.

I prefer having it as a digital currency because I prefer saving money than spending it for temporary happiness. And having it digital, cryptocurrency or fiat, would make it harder for me to spend it, especially in my country where digital mode of payment is not widely adopted. BTC is fine and digital fiat, and some top altcoin, but it'll cover up some exchange fees to convert it to my local currency though.

Digital all the way!! What do you need cash for anyway? Gift cards are even more silly essepcially if you get no bonus for using them. I guess people somehow think it is more "thoughtful" than cash.

hey , btw it's an old news, that survey is created on 2018 .
but well, i guess its doesn't matter anymore , since poll is closing with 72% for digital currency from 9100 votes.
and probably now , if bank of england create a same survey, i guess probably will 80% ++ for digital currency  ;D

It is good to see people already from 2018 who want digital currency. Its all the rage don't you know. 9100 is also a decent variety of votes and they are all from a banks tweets. I agree 80%+

I'm flexible and I would appreciate any means of receiving money. I think mostly prefer cash. However, if the situation does not need cash right away, I must say digital money. Its really quite hard to earn digital money. I mean earning it that much. To receive it as a gift is a very unique way. Besides, I can add it to my digital funds to have more for digital investments.

I am a very big supporter of Crypto currencies, but I have to be honest... if given the choice, I would prefer getting cash as a gift. The reason for this is simple, because most cash gifts gives you more flexibility. You can use that cash on something, where they do not accept Bitcoin as a payment option and it is virtually "tax free" <No paper trail>

You can still convert the cash to Bitcoin, if you want to .... but most gift cards can just be spend at the merchant where it was bought.  ::)  So, yes Cash is still King with me.  ;)

I doubt all the people who voted digital cash was thinking about cryptocurrency. it would still be nice to receive money via cryptocurrency but I'd rather pick cash
out convenience(like what Kakmakr mentioned). although you can exchange cryptocurrency into cash there but the number of people I know who are into
cryptocurrency are few and I probably wouldn't get any gift from them and the ones who most likely to gift me money are doubtful and hesitant about bitcoin even though
I have explained Bitcoin to them a lot of times to them they are still too hung up about the scammers in bitcoin so whether I like it or not cash is the best option I got.

Cash won't gain 30% in a day. It's more boring. When you get Bitcoin there's this excitement. What is it, how does it work? And when you know there's another excitement like you now have an investment not just a dollar bill but something you can hide and something that could be worth twice more next year.

Cryptocurrency is a much better gift. It teaches us so many things. Patience, inner workings of markets, economics, trading, security.

Nice, coming from Bank of England's twitter account. I think those people that participated in that survey are wiser the time around and want to try out something new to receive their gift.

Instead of having cash as a gift, they would prefer to have it through digital currency so that it won't be too hassle for them to get in. I hope that they will conduct another survey.

People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form.

The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting.
This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.

Time will tell. Now is the time to position.

They are doing their survey on the digital media platform. The result may vary if they survey physically either on the street or door to door. I think then more people will prefer cash instead of any other.

personally I am a supporter of digital currency but when someone gifting me I prefer cash.

If it was up to me to choose then I would choose crypto.
It is not a hard decision knowing that here you can easilly convert crypto to cash (there are many local buyers) but converting cash to crypto is not that easy. My country is banned by most exchanges that accept cash. Hence, I wouldn't miss any opportunity to get more cryptocurrencies.

Its surprising to know that many people now prefer digital currency rather than cash. But it would be better if the poll were conducted not in any social media platform/online to see if ordinary people are aware of this technology, we can get much reliable result through that.

As a crypto enthusiast of course I will prefer digital currency, easy to make transactions and convenient in my part. Nevertheless any form of gift would be priceless so I will be thankful if someone remembered me.

But if i wkll receive casb then i will convert it to a crypto since i much prefer buying paperless and doesn't want tocarry paper money because it is hassle and some store can be pay thru wechat pay, alipay, gcash from PH and paymaya.

although digital goods have not yet reached everyone, especially in rural areas that still use cash. but the introduction of digital currency has begun. many people turn to digital currency because it's easier in all
- does not require a large place. for example you bring 100000$, with digital you only need to bring a debit card or smartphone.
- with a digital currency of $ 100,000 will not burden someone because of the amount and weight.
- with digital currency, someone can trade long distances. without meeting, even with crypto currencies, one can send large amounts of money.
so this is the reason people turn to digital currencies.

In order for me to maximize and at the same time, put my savings on the best and secured platform, I chose to change my assets into digital. These days, we are bound to daily transactions, most of the time, we need to pay someone for the services and goods that we need, and for me, the best and the most efficient is using a digital, so whenever someone gives a gift for me, they know my money is in digital form, that is why they do the same thing. The good thing about it is I can help them know what crypto is so they can adopt.

Yes, if given the chance, I would love to receive Bitcoin as a gift too, and will hold it for five years as preparation for my daughter's college fee, because I know by that time, the price of Bitcoin will be times 10 or more of its current price now, depends on the demand and how fast the adoption is.

I personally prefer receiving cash as a gift despite being digital currency dominating the market currently.

The usage for fiat is far wider and has a variety of options to choose from. If I ever feel of needing digital cash, I can always have the option to convert it and purchase bitcoins. The only downside is, I am more inclined to spending than saving my money.

For digitalized currency, bitcoin has been popular as a  means of investment due to its high volatility. Others prefer receiving this as a gift (since its really valuable!) but it solely depends on the individual depending on his/her current needs.

Of course, people are like to receive their money by the digital system because of having some extra benefit from this segment, If you have cash money then you can spend anywhere, anytime but when you have to the other who are staying far away from you then you have to send digitally, if you have cash in your bank account then you have to withdraw from any branch or ATM booth, so you have to go there for when you need it, but if you have money in your digital format then you can make a payment at home, you can send money staying at your office even you feel safe when you have your money in the internet platform. that's why he blockchain and cryptocurrency platform is getting popular around the world.

One thing to remember here is that "digital currency" can mean digital version of fiat currency (such as PayPal and Visa) as well as cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Bitcoin and Litecoin. Now it is difficult to find out how many of this 69% were actually thinking about cryptocurrency. That said, this poll had less than 10,000 responses, and I would not consider it to be representative of the general population.

But for me, all this is trivial. Nowadays, it is very easy to convert cash from one format to another. If I have cryptocurrency in my wallet, then I can easily convert it to other forms (physical cash, bank transfer, gift voucher.etc) in just a few clicks. The same is true, if I have cash in my bank account. So many exchanges and P2P platforms are there for this purpose. Even here in Bitcointalk, there is a "Currency exchange" section under the "Marketplace" sub-forum, which is having tens of thousands of active users.

in my opinion most people now are aware of the benefits and advantages of cryptocurrency. so they prefer crytpocurrency over fiat money.
holding cryptocurrency is more profitable than fiat money. because in the future bitcoin has the possibility that prices will rise. whereas if saving fiat money will not get a profit it would be a loss because fiat money is always affected by inflation which makes the value of money decrease.

the first thing that automatically comes to mind when receiving cash is related needs, and use it faster without thinking about anything else.
Likewise with digital cash, there are currently many online shopping choices that are constantly evolving, but because this is not a physical currency, they tend to save it first. If there is a gift voucher option, I will choose it because the physical code can only be used for certain payment situations, this is more in line with its purpose as a gift.

Yeah, I'd love getting a gift of crypto but this poll specifies 'digital' cash, which could be something other than crypto, right?  It could mean adding a balance to someone's Amazon debit card or a prepaid paypal card or something similar.  It does *not* say 'cryptocurrency' and I have a feeling that the people responding to this small poll did not mean it that way.

Me, I'd love to have physical cash even tho I love cryptocurrency.  But that's just based on my present need for things that can be purchased with it.  A $20 bill in a birthday card is still a great thing.  I don't know anyone who's gotten bitcoin as a birthday or christmas gift.

No wonder why, people are already adopting and accepting digital currency like bitcoin. Some people finally understand how a digital currency works, maybe they realize its value and the advantage on using it. Just like them i'll also choose digital, because it can be used for a lot of other things and its less hassle in making transactions and payments.
Even I would prefer receiving my gift through a digital currency for I don't want other people to have a say and access to it. I would much prefer receiving it in the form of bitcoin for it would be more convenient and decentralized so no taxations and such will interfere with my enjoyment. More people realized that it was the digital currency that could give us the most advantageous place.

By this poll where  it's clearly stated that it's a gift, holding might increase the chance that it will increase

In the past I preferred cash cause it was easy and convenient to use, but carrying huge amounts of cash was always a problem for me. Now with the option to receive money digitally I’ll choose it over cash, as I can pay with a tap and not worry about my cash dropping here and there.

I also prefer digital money by the fee of cash into money. It is good to save a gift from digital money than cash because it is free but by coming exchange money into digital, it is difficult because I need money and in case of emergency you can use it immediately.

the development of digital money is indeed very rapid in my country now many emerging digital wallet that is used to store digital money. and I think now urban people are getting used to using digital money. and I also prefer to get cryptocurrency rather than cash. because if I get crypto like bitcoin I will be able to use it for investment. but for people who live in Pedesan I think would prefer to be given cash. because no store will accept digital money.

Hold up mate, if what you mean on "digital" is just a digital representation of fiat then I might be slightly not interested (it's a money after all so I'm not a fool not to grab it) compared if you gave me a crypto that I preferred like xrp, eth or btc. Actually, it's not mainly about the money why, I want a crypto simply because it would make me happy if my friend also a crypto enthusiast like me. It only manifests that our community is growing bigger and bigger :).

Some countries have central bank controlled or private large corporation controlled (authorized by the central bank) email money transfers that work like paypal, sort of like an easy form of electronic funds transfer. You give you email address which functions as an identifier and the money goes into your bank account, which you can choose at that point, or have it automatically go to a particular one.

I will have to ask if when it says digital it's means cryptocurrency or a digital equivalent FIAT money like PayPal or Cashapp.if it was the latter then I am going to just say I am for cash because in the end, i am going to have to liquidate it into physical cash and with the fees involved i am going to have less cash if I had gone for cash in the first place.

If someone direct give me either cash or digital money I prefer for cash if I needed. but in my mind I still prefer to accept bitcoin or eth if you say digital it maybe shitcoins :') hope it won't but if that friend of mine wants to give digital money as a gift, open to my will to accept it if this digital money has a value and tradable to top 10 exchanges. :D

Digital money is a common thing that people know and everyone accepts it in my country and now its widely spread all over the world. so it is best for everyone to get some knowledge on crypto or digital money because there are certainly many opportunities that await us in the spread of crypto abroad.

Seriously speaking i would also like to get gifts in form of digital currencies due to the benefits associated with it instead of receiving cash or physical gifts. The price of digital currency rise and you can gain profits on the capital.Which means you can earn more than what you get which is not the case with fiat. Moreover the world is adopting these digital coins so the percentage of people will increase day by day as they are more interested in the working of these coina and want to invest in them.

For me, I pick both sides depending on the sender or to the person that will give me because it's a good gift I don't mind if its cash or digital. But at this moment I much prefer cash because I need the money these days so it will be useful to me because I will not exchange my crypto into fiat. But again, it still depends on the situation of the person that will receive the gift. :)

People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form. The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting. This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.
Time will tell. Now is the time to position.

I think receiving digital cash as a gift is the best way to do it at this time. The bitcoin and other digital cash are now really popular in many countries but it is kindly limit the interaction of the one who gives them money and probably not gets an appreciation. Still, you will be happy because you receive the money after all and this is kindly interesting I guess it is like a future kind of giving a gift to a friend. But probably you will gonna like it if your not interested in digital money or do not have enough knowledge about it.

Though the survey is conducted by a banking service provider people have voted the one that is in their mind. Slowly people are getting to know much about cryptocurrencies, when it comes to western nation people have known about it. They haven't used to it, and giving a try will make them stick to it. This way more common people would have got into cryptocurrency usage. This is how more people opted for a Christmas Gift in the form of cryptocurrency from a centralized bank  :D :D

I prefer to receive digital currency since it will be efficient and easy to manage. There are many ways to keep digital currency nowadays and it can be used directly as capital for digital investment/asset. So, for me, it must be more interesting if I have digital currency than cash/paper money.

Getting gift with digital crypto better than you receive gift with cash or digital money, when your gift using cash money maybe value still the same and lower in the next days, but when you receive gift with bitcoin or altcoin value will increase at the next days and you can save bitcoin and altcoin as your investment assets, now many country want to receive gift by digital currency like bitcoin or altcoin.

for me alone when I want to give money from a short distance as used for relatives or people who need me prefer to give with cash so it will not make it difficult to use the money, whereas if the distance is very far then I will use digital money to facilitate transactions over long distances.

Well it depends on the digital currency, if Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies would the gift then I would rather have it over cash. I prefer crypto because I can put in investment to produce a profit. However, cash is not bad as well since I can use it to procure crypto.

If prefer it too, i dont care of it is in bitcoin/eth/bch/xrp or anything as long as it is a digital, because with digital money I can use it anywhere and anytime as long as I have an internet. I just need to convert it in usd and send it to my wallet such as paypal or skrill. Wish I could have that on my birthday if ever I will be able to choose between.

I really prefer digital money because I can manage my money way better online. Having a load of cash in your purse will just make you spend more than you really needed no matter how tight your budget is this is super legit. At least having money in digital wallets you can control your wants to spend and all you be buying is just your needs(this is how I do it so yeah)

I will only believe on that survey if they surveyed more than 1/2 of the total population in a certain country and do it worldwide. Yes it is hard but it is the only way I see.

A small number of people is just a small number and they put the poll on Twitter where the Bitcoin analysts and enthusiasts are active most of the time. I would choose digital too over cash but unfortunately, I don't receive any gifts from my friends :(

Yes, if given the chance, I would love to receive Bitcoin as a gift too, and will hold it for five years as preparation for my daughter's college fee, because I know by that time, the price of Bitcoin will be times 10 or more of its current price now, depends on the demand and how fast the adoption is.
There is certainly no doubt about that and even in that five years the worth of the gift may have even grown to pay for your child school fees all through and still have some change depending on the worth of the gift that is being received.

If I receive a gift of 1 btc now, I am so sure that by that 5 years, it will be enough to see my 2 children through their university because by that time, I am so optimistic that bitcoin value would have really appreciated to $100k and that is such a big amount of money in the part of the world where I come from when we change the dollar to my countries currency, but even if I don’t receive as git, I am glad that I already have an investment that is at least over 1 btc which I am really willing to even leave for more than 5 years.

For now, I am more interested I building my future and building a future that will be bright for me, if I receive a cash as gift, I would like to receive it in form of cryptocurrency is that I can leave it as investments there and allow it to grow, at least that is still better than using my own personal cash because of the risk involved, but the risk is still quite worth it anyway.

If I am also to receive it as cryptocurrency, I will only receive it in form of bitcoin, because that is the only coin that I can still rely on for now, it is the most used coin and it is the coin that will continuously be used. If I don’t have the choice of cash, then that is when I can consider using cash, but will never leave it in bank, will use the cash to go and buy gold as an asset.

It is better to receive digital money than money we have physically because our generation talks about technology and we should go with the flow. We should think of the best. And the best gift is to receive digital money because you have it virtually on your hands you can manipulate and trade it online. You can secure it. But having physical money it can be taken away from you easily. Much better to have digital than old right?

If I have options to choose the way I want to receive money as a gift, I would definitely choose the Digital currency! Because it is easy, convenient and has a great potential to increase the value! Recently I made a video review for a project, they asked me to choose the way I want to make the payment! Payoneer or Paypal. I asked them to send it through Bitcoin, they agreed! Like you attached the picture, most of the people want to get in Digital Currency!

Yeah. Digital currency is more convinient and can be use anywhere. There are several resto that accepts bitcoin now , the process is like what they are doing with whatspay and paymaya, I rather have that in my online wallet because there is a possibility that the amount that has been given to me increases too.

While my family still prefers cash nowadays, I prefer go digital. It's much more convenient to me in this era. Two years ago, I gave my cousin and friends some digital tokens that can be exchange into fiat later on. I tried to tell my family that I want to give them some Bitcoin or Ethereum, but they much preferred cash or physical gift.

I understand that though because they're not yet adopting Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other cryptocurrencies despite supporting me in my journey. Maybe this Christmas, I would try again to give them some Bitcoin by letting them create their own wallets for me to send them. At least, this would be something new to them. Who knows? Maybe this time they would accept. :D

Based on this picture we know many people have interested with bitcoin and altcoin as currency, survey have get respond where many people want to receive gift with cryptocurrency than we have got cash money or gift voucher, with get gift by bitcoin and altcoin they can hold and make as investment assets at the future with higher price, but if cash money will be inflation in the next year and not the same value.
