Title: If you have to sell bitcoin to an alt, so...
Post by: btcanonymous666 on October 26, 2019, 05:44:03 PM
Describing a shitcoin varies from person to person. An alt that made you good money doesn't mean that it's a promising one. So please be honest, and if you ever have to sell your btc, what would you buy with them?

My first vote to Monero, for privacy reasons. Fuk ZEC and its "optional privacy" which is NOT a privacy actually. DASH? Lol, no privacy. Another bitcoin clone methinks.
Second one is Ethereum, there is no serious competitor in smart contract area.

I cannot find third one. Maybe NANO.

From a technical perspective LINK looks good, but XMR has been decent in comparison with the other shitcoins. However if something would happen to Bitcoin probably the whole cryptocurrency market would go down with it. So, if I'd have to sell Bitcoin I would reinvest them into the traditional markets where my money is backed by holdings and an actual business.

Binance would be a serious competitor for Ethereum. As we know, using Binance chain token, making project have a chance to be listed on their DEX exchange.

About options if I am selling bitcoin for ALT, I will choose BNB, ETH and Kleros  (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/kleros/)(start up for disputes resolution and blockchain based escrow service ).

Not investment advice. DYOR/DWYOR

Monero is the king of privacy coins. But I have to credit also ZEC and DASH for what they are. They are pursuing the road of privacy in the crypto world. And they have made good contributions in their own respect. They should not be classified with other shitcoins.

Ethereum is the top among all altcoins. I would rank it higher than Monero. The third one could be Litecoin. The younger brother of Bitcoin.

Honestly I won't sell my bitcoin. But I will answer your question even if I am one of many bitcoiner. If I will sell my bitcoin the only coin that  I buy is ETH because all we know that bitcoin and eth is the most progressive and fast moving coin here in crypto world so there will be a good opportunity to earn rather than loss.

It depends on the person who has bitcoin if he/she going to sell it just to buy altcoins. If you going to sell your bitcoin just to buy altcoins, maybe you should buy the altcoin has belonged on the top rank cryptocurrency just like eth , xrp and binance coin. But for me, I prefer to buy binance coin and ethereum which has more chance that price goes up in the future. Lastly, I know some of us will hold their bitcoin than to sell it because they know it will become more valuable in the next few years.

Selling Btc to buy Altcoin?
There are lots of new Altcoins but I am not at all interested, it is better to look for altcoins that have good performance, TRX and BNB will be my choice to hold altcoin in the long run, but I still bitcoin will not sell all of them, Bitcoin is a true coin profitable.

Obviously it should be Ethereum? It's the top altcoins right now, so it you want your funds to be safe for now, Ethereum will be the best choice.

If you are looking for a privacy coin, Monero is the best one. There are others good coin for pump-and-dump, BCH, XRP. LTC could be a viable candidate as well.

Nah, it has lost it's touch already.

I don't want to make mistakes like this because in my opinion having a bitcoin is something that is very good, whereas if I sell bitcoin at cheap prices like now it will make me lose, altcoin that you mentioned all of them cannot provide a guaranteed profit.

There's nothing such as guaranteed profit. It's about how you trade and on what situation you are in.

It is just depending on the trust you give to the altcoin, Every altcoin has a posibily to give you a profit, Even sh*t coins can rarely give you profit.

The third one will probably be bitcoin2. It is also considered to be an altcoins being shipped by the PoS system. If we invest 10% of our money in bitcoin2 and hold it for many years, I think we will have a chance to become rich very soon.
because I realize that the bitcoin hash rate is getting lower and the processing of blocks is getting longer and the fees are still very high. If this situation persists, the shark will have to move to a new stop and that will certainly be bitcoin2.

Honestly, it will be impossible for me to sell my bitcoins. But i guess if i have to sell my bitcoin to an alt i rather choose Ethereum because i see ETH like bitcoin that it could reach it's price much higher, i will also choose Monero because i like holding monero for a long term and lastly, XRP because the price of XRP is stable than other altcoins.

If you ever have to sell your btc for an alt then the reason for should be making more profits over holding it right? For that choosing better coins is not needed the trending coin will be enough. If I am in that situation I will pick BNB because the only reason is it is not going to be dumped even in this bearish market.

My take will be on etheruem because it blockchain is mostly used by other projects. So, it has the opportunity to increase in popularity.

An alt that made you good money doesn't mean that it's a promising one.

Yes you are right. If you are lucky to dump a shit coin before it dives south, you would have a positive story than hodlers who never saw it coming.

Even ethereum itself didn't recover much from its bottom price when other coins soared up 300% growth so investing on ethereum needs long wait to get reap.

I would sell mine if i saw a coins with a potential and hype.
Sometimes a shitcoin but with a power of media making news about the coins and people make it hype. The price could be pump in a short time, and take a quick profits before it down again.

BNB and EThereum for me as they are already quite stable and has applications or demand. Other alts remains to prove themselves, bt there are many promising too. As of now, seems to be risky to buy alts since btc  has gained a substantial leap last day, and many alts suffers.Just  always observed market movements and grab opportunity whenever arises.

I think Binance would be a good Alt if I plan to sell or Exchange my Bitcoins. Binance is well managed crypto currency compared to others who are just good at the first few months of going live in an exchange site. Not sure if Ethereum is still a good choice among other Alts out there, ICO days are over, not much noise from the developers of Ethereum lately. Price has been down and keeps going down from quite some time now. Highest recorded this is $336 last June 26. Last time Ethereum is in 4 digits was last February 2018.

Anything in the top 10 or so market cap on cryptomarketcap would be fine to trade my Bitcoin into. More than likely, all of those would increase in price right along side Bitcoin anyways. So, there's really not too much of a difference of holding one of those or Bitcoin. Ethereum is always a good second coin to hold with plenty of room to grow.

Well, Bitcoin right now itself seems to be quite profitable, so I won't probably consider it exchanging to some other alt. However, if I still have to sell it in the exchange of any different alt then I would consider BNB and ETH. Both of the coins seem promising and are equally potentially good with a higher chance of growth and development. However, we haven't heard much from the ETH this year but still, I believe it will boom in the future...

DASH? Lol, no privacy. Another bitcoin clone methinks.

Neither one of those are shit coins in my opinion.  Even tho dash may not be completely anonymous, it does have advantages over bitcoin as a currency.  It can be sent for next to nothing and confirmation times are generally much quicker, plus it's a coin that has held its value just about as well as bitcoin has if you take volatility into consideration.  Most coins are at least a little bit of a bitcoin clone.

Same thing with Eth.  It won't overtake bitcoin as the #1 crypto (ever) but it does have uses for it that are unique to it, and it will hold its value over the long term.

I've always considered shit coins to be the ones nobody really wants, and they always trade for very low prices that reflect the lack of demand.  There are so many of them on the market that it's sometimes hard to tell which are the really bad ones, but you know them when you see them.  Nano?  I've heard of it but not much about it.  That'll probably be a shit coin soon.

Anything in the top 10 or so market cap on cryptomarketcap would be fine to trade my Bitcoin into.
I agree with that and would even extend it out to the top 25 or even 50.

Pretty much disagree with you on the basis of describing shitcoins, if an alt made you money in the past, and now it's dead, it's a shitcoin now.
Selling BTC now for alts doesn't seem like s good decision, but If I ever have to sell my BTC for some alts, it has to be ETH and BNB then consider any other alts in the top 5 list.

I don't think so, Selling Bitcoin for another Altcoin is not a wise decision following my experience, I haven't seen any profitable Altcoin more than Bitcoin what gives us, so I am comfortable with Bitcoin, But if you want any suggestion then I will say about Ethereum, I can't figure out the profit except for these two coins, I haven't got any good result by selling Bitcoin and Etherum because When I sold those for Buying another Altcoin then this decision cut a sorry figure for me. from then, I didn't support to sell Bitcoin for buying Altcoin in order to make any profit. For me, Bitcoin is the best source of making money.

Good choices of alts which I would definitely choose the same.Monero for privacy and then ETH for smart contracts. These platforms is relevant and usable
unlike on most shit coins nowadays do just simply make use of these platforms specially on erc20.

Good alts is to those who had actual usage not just copying ones.

Why sell bitcoin which has dominated the market for altcoin? I better hold bitcoin and buy altcoin with other funds without having to sell bitcoin. Bitcoin is like an asset that keeps creeping up in value. I see the potential of altcoin like BNB, XRP and tether, which I will buy later.

because the price of bitcoin is already quite high.
I already sold some of my BTC then bought XRP and Litecoin, the reason is because the transaction is fast for xrp, litecoin hmmm isn't bad either. actually all of this is capital for betting gambling, and can be also suitable as an asset that can be invested long-term and short-term.

While we've our differences in opinion, I don't think selling (trading is the term) for BTC is an unwise move. In my experience, altcoins have more growth that btc in the last 2-3 years. ETH, BNB, NEO, TRX to name a few. It's also true that bitcoin is quite profitable itself, it has gone over 300%+ in 2019 alone. That's why it's number one. My point is, we shouldn't overlook or write off altcoins just because we're yet to see an alt season in the last 2 years. If we have a similar bull and alt season run like the one we had in 2017, i bet your opinion would be a lot different.

You got some good choices already in your mind.
Just need to find the right one for you to invest with.
Although, it is good to fill many baskets you will still need to find the best one.
Yes, I might sell my bitcoin for another coin, if I will be to pick then I will go with Ethereum.
Imagine how many Ethereum you will get with just 1 bitcoin.
It will be an easy profit selling them with a couple of dollars change in the market.

You can buy just about anything you want as long as you don't forget to dump it when time comes the bear is about to rake over the market. There are just a number of tokens that is rises more than the others. Some traders may choose the ones which are privacy coins and investors prefer the ones with smartcontracts but some also prefer the ones with some features like the ones which resolves scalability and Quantum resistant.

Do you really think LINK, XMR and such stuff can be as beneficial as bitcoin is. I think you are forgetting that bitcoin is the whole reason why altcoin survived at first place. It was due to bitcoin that ethereum got support. In my honest opinion, it is wastage of time to go for altcoins.

I would rather keep my Bitcoins than to sell it for altcoins. We all know the edge of Bitcoin over any other altcoins but if I got no choice but to sell it, I would prefer to choose Ethereum. Eth has proven us a lot and it has been consistent in showing us its potential. Both Btc and Eth are both good for long term and short term investment depending on how we deal with the market.

I think it is not a good idea to sell your bitcoin to an altcoins and it will just depend if the price of bitcoin is in down trend then you can buy an altcoin. Also the market today is in bloody zone and only bitcoin is dominating it and looking forward that the price could reach more than $15k before the end kf this month.

That is why better to accumulate more bitcoin and sell some altcoins that you think can more satoshi since altcoins price are going down.

Only two altcoins that I like to invest as what you have mentioned. Tron and Ethereum, these are having potential altcoins, just look at Eth most of all altcoin launched was base on ERC20 and that was Ethereum. Tron is now well known in some gambling sites they partnered Tron and I think their ecosystem will have a better progress. But to tell you frankly, I personally hold bitcoin as much as I can and not to exchange in altcoins.

If ever that happened so, I'll choose XRP and ETH. However I'm still open to other altcoins such as Doge, Dash, and ltc. I'm always fascinated to such coins that has low fees since I'm a person who make transactions several times per day thus transaction fee is a big deal thing for me.

I personally don't really dare to save altcoins for long term purpose especially the altcoin with lack of market support and it's risky for me and my reason if i have to sell bitcoin and buy altcoins is those altcoins should be have good potention to provide me short term profit so i think i will thinking to switch my method if there is altcoin can able to do that because if i do it for long term then i will more likely choose bitcoin instead of altcoin

I will go with Ethereum too as a second choice.
In fact, I already made that decision a long time ago.
Good thing I still made profits from the last ATH and somehow I bought more ETH using those profits after the fall.

3rd one? That should be something else. I will go PundiX. They are getting larger now adding more coins in their wallet service which is the XPOS or Xwallet.

If I have to sell bitcoin for altcoins, I will choose Binance coin (BNB) because it has very good potential to hold. As we know BNB
was created by binance exchanges which are the best exchanges at the moment. That is why I am very much sure in the future it
will rise rapidly the price of BNB coins, because BNB is a profitable coin. And also BNB has good fundamentals, my conclusion there
is no need to hesitate to buy BNB and hold for long-term.

I just thinking that most crypto user now will choose promising coin/token comparing to choose the function of the coin itself. Privacy will be choose for those who have a lot of money and they intend or have invested on cryptocurrency. The reason is simple they want to make every transaction be made secretly.

But for an investor such as me, I won't choose for its purpose. I just pice some coins who make me think there will be many people who interesting to the especially in profit side. Such as choosing an investment in IEO, yeah as you may know IEO project has made many investor think that this way is a good way to earn a lot of profit in short term investment.

Actually I don't like selling bitcoin for altcoin, but if I choose I will make BNB as the first option. BNB, which is a coin created by binance, receives a lot of support and is considered the best exchanger. Secondly maybe Ethereum just like you ETH in the development of platform technology is the best.
BNB, since the platform have an established business already,  the chance of gaining higher value is always possible. With the investment side of this industry, you need to look for good reason before supporting projects that were  being offered around the market. It would be a hard decision to make exchanging your BTC to another potential Alts, but doing a good research will be able to assist you from choosing  those available solid project if it's really needed.

I'll sell it on Ethereum too, Especially now its price has dropped. The second is Kucoin I see their strong exchange which may be similar to Binance Coin.

And the third is PundiX, Due to its good development now that will definitely give it a lot of investors, Especially their blockchain phone to be released in the market!
3rd one? That should be something else. I will go PundiX. They are getting larger now adding more coins in their wallet service which is the XPOS or Xwallet.

Maybe NANO.
Ethereum would be my very first choice if you want me to convert from BTC to any other altcoins. But my second option could be Litecoin itself. I know that there is no development in LTC since a few years but frankly speaking it fulfills almost every flaw left over by BTC. Be it transaction speed or maybe high transaction costs LTC takes care of that. Moreover it is equally secure as BTC and as of now is not facing any kind of scalability issues at all. If crypto market will prosper it's obvious that you would need a currency for day to day settlement and Bitcoin's flaws will not allow it to be number one so most of the people would turn to LTC only.

both of them is good ,

well, that depends on what criteria you are looking for?
i just have suggestion , why not following a trend, u know , nowdays, utility tokens seems popular, just choose one of them , such as BNB or HT or KCS.

Browsed the answers of some of the known users here and it looks like Ethereum really won this time.

Wise choice will be the same, Ethereum.
It is already established, secured and low transaction fees.
What else could you ask for? It is almost as the same as bitcoin but the smart contracts really made a lot of difference.
Although there are negative sides of it, the good thing is it gave some company a chance to grow with the use ERC20 tokens.

My BTC will only be limited to BTC/USD pair.

For altcoins, sh*t or not, I do have separate funds for that only limited to altcoin trading. This is to ensure that my strategy will not be affected by some of the given circumstances on either BTC or alts.

In terms of choosing altcoins, no doubt the technology behind it isn't really the main reason why people preferred this or that to trade. Volume-wise and popularity are the main criteria*. I do have my own list on my portfolio but decided not to share with it as lurkers might be confused about what to choose especially, newbies. They will think that just because those coins give profit to others, they will expect to have the same result.

I will not sell all the valuable bitcoin assets like bitcoin only to be used to buy altcoin because I think bitcoin has very good potential and bitcoin can also make a lot of profit because I believe from year to year the price of bitcoin always goes up and becomes expensive.

I will buy more ethereum or low price coins like grin, atom, trx, or ada. But that will need to observe and analyze more in the market because I need to find out more about which altcoin will be potential to increase later. I think every altcoin can be potential, but it will need time to find out the right coins, and I feel the market still unpredicted. But I don't want to sell my bitcoin to buy altcoin because I already buy many altcoins in a few weeks or months ago, so I still hold some altcoin which I think it will be potential to increase.

if I sell my bitcoin for altcoin, the choices that appear in my head are ethereum, BNB, BCH SV, TRX, and WAVES. I might choose one of them, and if I have a lot of bitcoin, I will do full or more stock on ethereum. but, right now I think selling bitcoin is wrong. however, people are currently selling altcoin for bitcoin.

With the price spike of the bitcoin market, it is really affecting the holders of altcoins because they are getting hyped up of the price movement of bitcoin and like what you said, they are now selling their altcoins for bitcoin in terms of profit probability. If I were you, I will do the opposite which is convert bitcoin to altcoin since we know that they are on the low because of the bearish market and just hold them until the next altcoin season to fully maximize the potential of the altcoin market.
in this case I am different. maybe I prioritize bitcoin more than altcoin because there are so many decreases that occur in altcoin. Somehow I have a strong feeling about bitcoin, I'm pretty sure the price will exceed $ 15000 in 2020, so imagine when you had a lot of bitcoin at the time.

It might be good to have several altcoins right now, but because there are so many altcoins that are popular, and each altcoin has different potential, I am confused about which altcoin to hold on. however ethereum remains the first choice, but what about the other choices? I don't want to miss the train, so I feel that when the market recovery occurs, the price of bitcoin and ethereum will definitely have a high price.

First, I don’t think that I would ever like to want to sell my bitcoin for anything, and if I pick interest in any altcoin, I would rather just prefer to use fiat to buy it afresh because bitcoin is full of so many surprises, it could be that the time I sell the bitcoin for altcoin is when bitcoin will start growing in value which I think I would not want to take chances for that.

Talking of choice of altcoin though, i think that Ethereum is still one of my favorite and potential coin, which I believe greatly in the future of Ethereum, after bitcoin, the best choice of altcoin would be Ethereum and like you said here, if I eventually decide to sell little of my bitcoin for altcoin, I think that I would rather prefer to also sell it for Litecoin, I have never believed in any project as much as I also believe in Litecoin too.

I would say to sell bitcoin (in term of trading not for long term investment) for an alts is conditionally , I mean when bitcoin market seems so stagnant and you found it interesting to compare the price between the bitcoin and an alt where certain alt isn't move in the bullish period... I see this as opportunity as when any others alts has moved up but that one altcoin is not yet ... that time I decided to sell my bitcoin up to half of it and start buying those altcoin I targeted before.

That's how my bankroll management works, that's how I build my portfolio. You shouldn't leak the whole portfolio you have , just share some tricks how you do buying those alts.

if we sell bitcoin used to bought altcoin for short trade i will do it.possibility to earn money bigger than risk if i have knowledge in trading.sometimes , good altcoin price down meanwhile it has good future.if we dont take this opportunity , our goal to earning profit in market will not achieved.it just about coins conversion in market with profits as this goal.

I'd go for Monero first, and probably for Litecoin in second, then XRP in third or Ethereum. Monero, Litecoin, and Ethereum are the big threes that proved already their existence is worht it for someone to invest their money on it, if bitcoin is the king, then these 3 are bitcoin's General.

First of all, I will not sell all of my bitcoin to an altcoin because it is not the way that I diversify my portfolio

OP didn't mentioned that he will sell all of his bitcoin to buy altcoins.

I prefer eth than the rest of all altcoins out there I have big trust that this coin has long way to go more interesting features will be added very soon and I hope more and more users will adopt its blockchain, BNB is my next altcoin after eth mainly because its the utility coin of the no.1 exchange so the potential to reach again its ath is very possible in the next bull run.

I can sell a small portion of my Bitcoin for altcoin, and if I'm going to sell it my pick will be Ethereum and Eos I'm very bullish on these two coins, Ethereum obviously is a stable altcoin, Eos is a developing altcoin dedicated to gambling and many Dapps are created within it, but I will never sell all my Bitcoin for altcoins, Bitcoin should always be a top choice for obvious reason.

The main difference between bitcoin and altcoins is that it is self-sufficient.
Bitcoin does not depend on what is happening with the developer, the development of the project is ongoing or not, there are announcements or not, the project is on its own roadmap or behind it.

All this is not. But for alternative coins, everything very much depends on the human factor, unfortunately.
Therefore, choosing a project in favor of which I would sell my bitcoins, I would choose a project with a working team that has never let anyone down,
has been on the market for a long time, and also has ambitious, and most importantly, implemented plans for the future.

Thank God such projects are enough on the market.

Associating sentimental value is the biggest mistake you can do as a trader. You should treat every coin equally. Be opportunist, not follower. You aren't buying clothes or car that you have to use for a time being. Rather you are buying coin having zero utility to you other than being investment item. So instead of differentiating coins on the basis of features, better study the market performance if your sole motive is to earn profits.

if for such a token utility model there are still other options such as okb and huobi. indeed Kcs is superior in the shares method, and their prices are still affordable at $ 1.49, but Bnb is still better at fluctuating speeds, you won't miss BNB momentum for too long, because it's still fast running at $ 12 - $ 20. I even happy to see BNB go down when BTC happens the same thing, because there is no long-term loss to buy it.

This probably won't be a popular choice, but for me, first would be Tron. Justin Sun's made a lot of BS antics in the past that dragged this coin down but it was decent at least especially if you're not afraid to make a gamble. That Warren Buffet lunch was a disaster but it also gave me a pretty good entry point. Next would be BTT. I still believe it's one of the coins that has real use but is undervalued, for now at least. Third would be between ether and ripple.

Hellz yeah +1 for Monero.

I love how Monero has consistently been for privacy all the way. Monero even first caught my attention when they blocked centralised ASIC mining by changing their mining algorithms. They still do change those algorithms regularly years later and are still always promoting the spirit of cryptocurrencies as private, decentralised, and freedom-giving.

Wouldn't be surprised if Monero survives and outlives most altcoins.

These three altcoins are highly influenced by the pumps and dumps of bitcoin so investing into them is a good decision for being on the safe side. Of course, this would be highly stupid of someone buying altcoins by selling bitcoin. It is as if you are selling diamond for buying silver which will definitely put you in loss. No matter how much silver increases in value, it will be still less than diamond.

yes you are right we can consider bitcoin as a diamond and nobody will be willing to sell diamond and buy some other less valuable things, selling bitcoin is completely wrong because the price of bitcoin is always increases unexpectedly and those people will regret who sell bitcoin and buy altcoins, it is always a dream of people that they must have bitcoin in their wallets so selling it is stupidity.
Apart from this altcoins investment also proves beneficial but invest some other source of income in it.

None coin is promising to be fair because they don't offer something very valuable which would be considered as promising except one to my mind and that's Monero because of it's privacy, that's why bitcoin is so popular too and monero rocks in this task, it's even better than bitcoin. Also I'm glad that I amn't alone and the only one who thinks so and takes second place for ethereum.

Not a good idea since selling bitcoin to an altcoin is not profitable and most likely you will lose the value of coin or token that you will be buying and it would be much better to trade bitcoin since the value is  going up and down.

And selling an altcoin to bitcoin is much better but it will depends on how much you have bought in. So it will be much profitable and gain more satoshi.

Yes it's always a bad idea to trade bitcoin for altcoin as altcoin's value depends on bitcoin and not the vice versa. Again it depends from a person to person even I did trade bitcoin for litecoin in the past and that trade was fruitful to me on a short term. We could rather directly purchase altcoin instead of selling bitcoin in order to buy altcoin, as the value of bitcoin will increase for sure if altcoin has to rise and moreover if we used fiat to buy tokens/altcoin (only potential) then it will be more profitable.

I think you need to clearly divide your capital in this market and have a clear plan for your investment. In my opinion, you should spend 80% for Bitcoin and 20% for Altcoin and always think carefully in investing because just a small mistake will cause you many problems so it is best to calm down and make the right decision. In fact, altcoins are just a tool to help you make money and not bring too much value in life, so you can ignore if that altcoin is not good.

The best advice for this period is to choose only altcoins in the top 200  and should not hold too long if that altcoin is in a decline phase because the risk will cause you to spend more time and have can make you lose money quickly.

I have still not seen that coin that will make me change my bitcoin to it, and not even the almighty Ethereum, I trust my investment in bitcoin so much that I believe that any satoshi that I lost or change to another coin is a missing opportunity, but that is when I have already diversified my portfolio, but if I am a beginner of altcoin, i will only use bitcoin at that point that I am making investment, which means I would have considered the coins that I will buy with bitcoin, and also consider the amount of bitcoin that I intend buying already.

It is also good to diversify to altcoins, but I don’t think changing bitcoin to altcoin at a developed stage is really wise, because it could be the time that we are changing that btc to alt that we will see a bull run, which would not have affected altcoins in terms of profit as much as it would affect bitcoin.

Maybe NANO.

I've been doing this in 2017 because there are a lot of good coins to buy in their ICO stage in that year, I trade my Bitcoin for these coins that's become a shitcoin, so I don't think I'm going to do it now in a new coin, but I have to sell my Bitcoin for altcoins, it should be on a more stable coins in the market, like EOS, Tron, and Ethereum, these are stable coins and will always stay on top in the market, because of their contribution in the industry.

I was thinking about BNB or when ETH becomes staking maybe ETH. I really don't want to put all my money into one thing but I know bitcoin will always have the biggest share in my portfolio, that is for sure and will never change. I have some other alts but I don't like them, I am not entirely sure if I really want to invest into altcoins anymore, some tokens that can be utilized look a lot better if you ask me.

So right now, I like eos a bit, it is not that bad and china loves it, there is over one billion people there so it is a good sign, I like eth because they are improving and maybe I may go for tron because it makes headlines all the time but thats about it, I doubt I would go for tron neither but even if I do this is the all coins I could ever consider for now.

You already have Monero and ETH, they are both very different when it comes to its properties.  But they are good investment if you have the the funds to hold a lot of them. Monero will keep you steps ahead when the IRS creeps around to crypto holders buying it on DEX right now will be best to do than on centralized exchange.

32 ETH is a good number to hold for now til you learn what's waiting for ETH in the coming fork. Experts says 32ETH will allow you to participate in staking. For the 3rd coin NANO I guess would be one. You done your research. Keep more of the BTC in your portfolio though.

Maybe BNB could be the right choice if you sell your Bitcoin to Alt. Binance is a project that until now there are still many customers trading there, and of course their own coin, BNB, will continue to exist in a high volume market. I personally have bought some BNB for my long term investment.

Maybe? But there are good altcoins out there just like Ethereum or choose a stable coin just like the XRP token. Binance coins may be subjected to a manipulated coins with its own exchange but it doesn't matter anyway if a trader or investor wants to choose their favorite coins to invest.

Only if i buy altcoins with my BTC, first must be Ethereum, and then maybe i save a little, very little amount to buy doge. I think Dogecoin have potential to get pumped. Although without development update, usually Dogecoin is good to speculate because it is already pumped and dumped in so many times. And Dogecoin not changed to be dead coin until now.

For me personally, if I have a large amount of Bitcoin, I will share 50% of my Bitcoin to buy Ethereum and Litecoin.
because besides Bitcoin Ethereum and Litecoin is my paforite Altcoin which in my opinion is always profitable for me, so I have three of the best and profitable coins in the coming months.

I prefer having almost everything in ETH because I am completely fine with holding that for 5 years if I had. Pretty much everything rises and falls together anyway. I do have around 40% in a ton of different altcoins just to get some diversification and maybe one of them really explodes in price but all of them have solid Devs behind them so I am fine with HODLing for years in the worst case. One thing I should mention is that only because a coin is trash doesn't mean that it can't explode in price in the short term or stay along for way too long. Crypto is a crazy place. Either way I wouldn't be happy to keep that for the long term.

If ever I have to sell my Bitcoin for altcoins, it probably not for shitcoins or new coins created. Of course, I'll go for ETH or among the top 10 altcoins in the market. But most likely, I will never sell my bitcoins for this. I only sell by Bitcoin not for a trade but keeping it while the market is not working good and taking back again once prices move back. It is eventually not a long-term variation, but it is all about the trade from BTC-fiat-BTC.

I don't want to sell my bitcoin for buying altcoin because bitcoin is still worth it for me and needs time for me to earn more bitcoin. Although altcoin can increase, I still hold my bitcoin. Besides that, I already have many altcoins right now. And all of my altcoins is waiting for the best time to increase. But if there is a downtime for ETH and if the ETH price can go down deeper than the price now, maybe I will spend some bitcoin to buy more ETH because I believe that ETH can increase so high in the future.

Agree with you. we better not sell Bitcoin because investing in bitcoin is the main thing in my investment concept in cryptocurrency. Adding a portfolio to Altcoin is only done if I have money. and even then it needs to be careful not to get caught up in altcoin which turns out to be a scam. we don't want to get any loss from that investment

Maybe I would go with ETH and LTC I also like Monero,
I would avoid investing in some new alt-coin unless I have seen something promising to them,
And if I think that they could survive in the market not another of those who would end up being useless and priceless shitcoin.

Me too! I would invest it at eth, we knew that eth is the second to bitcoin and the most popular and having a lot of investor I think, it would not be extinct and have a good volume. For now I am finding another coin that is stable I think I will buy more XRP too, when I used that , transactions are very fast.

You are just expressing what many members of the forum think, despite the thousands of coins that we have in the market if you take a serious look at many of them you understand that they are not worth anything and there is not a reason for you to sell your bitcoin to acquire those coins, this is probably the strongest reason why long term holders are only holding bitcoin and nothing else.

If they decide to invest in other coins most likely they are doing this not because they believe in that coin but just to speculate with it and then get more bitcoin in return, my conclusion is that if you are happy holding your bitcoin do not waste your time with altcoins.

Would go to Ethereum at first because we already know what and how good Ethereum is in past 2 weeks after China's commments :D
The second one would be Monero because of this article (https://usethebitcoin.com/monero-news-dubais-btse-exchange-launches-xmr-futures-contracts/) so Monero's price would be at a good spot in the future.

Obviously Ethereum and Monero is good spot in the future so long term analysis is positive in these two altcoins. This year BNB performance was attract the total market so everyone concentrate the BNB investment but sudden dump make noise on all the altcoins. I think USDT is the other choice for Bitcoin so once market fluctuations will occur automatically most are move to USDT.

Even if ethereum and monero are that cool, still they will be nothing in front of bitcoin. I mean selling out the king of crypto currencies for a slow mover like ethereum and not so profit producing monero sounds more like a joke. Bitcoin is the whole reason why altcoins were able to survive and make some progress. You must look at the difference of benefits produced by bitcoin and ethereum in 2017.

Instead of changing your coin now and then, would not it be best to stay with the one true potential asset. That is a way too much work to keep an eye on charts of many altcoins, figuring out the next promising one and switching to it. Also, none of altcoins are very good at producing profits. I will suggest you to invest in bitcoin and you will not have to go through the above tough routine. Profits earned will b more than satisfying.

Altcoins have not really performed that well for some time but there are moments in which they do and you need to be ready to take advantage of those moments, the only coin that is worth holding over the long term is bitcoin but that does not mean you cannot sell your bitcoin from time to time when altcoins are the ones that are clearly dominating the market.

Bu as we know right now is not the moment to try anything like that, bitcoin has a dominance above 66% and it could possibly go up even more during the next months but if you see that number dropping to 60% then it is possible we could be in the presence of an altcoin season.

One of these coins that I am targeting is Monero, this coin has been a very effective coin for a long term now and has really been serving its community very well when it comes to privacy coins, so this could be added to the list of the coins that you listed, at least one privacy coin would be okay.

I hardly invest in altcoins but assuming I want to sell my bitcoins and invest the Money in altcoins, the first choice I am going with is Binance Coin. Well, why don't I? This is a coin that is owned by one of the biggest crypto exchange in the world, and judging from their success you don't have to be told that this is a really good choice. Their BNB token has been mostly green this year, you will already know this if you have been following up with prices on Coinmarketcap.

The next coin I might like to invest in is Ethereum; why not? Ethereum keeps topping the chart for a smart contract. Although there are lots of other projects with the same idea, they have been unable to take the position from ETH, and it still stays at the top position when it comes to altcoins.

I also like to hold ethereum because it has no competitor in the market, But their platform has been ruined by scammers, so now ethereum prices have fallen compared to 2017 when eth prices rose and bitcoin was rising. But I think the right time for ethereum will come and ETH will also avoid scammers by using their platform to steal investors' money because of the fake coins made by cyber criminals.

Vitalik was harmed when smart contracts did not reject all projects that entered the network, but were eventually used by many scammers. But in terms of usage, eth is still ranked highest after bitcoin. I like eth because as a pair trading. I believe Vitalik has something fantastic next year because this year he tends to be very calm.

Ethereum is of the very outstanding coin in crypto currency community though it will never break the record of bitcoin but still one of the best choice of many here in crypto currency community. In fact, nowadays is the best time to buy since the value is profitable in the future. Hopefully one day crypto currency will pump tremendously as wish by many crypto currency enthusiasts.

For me I prefer etherium. Actually I only have bitcoin and etherium so far. Its really hard to trust other coins. I'm still searching for my second and third alt as well. I'm thinking of BCH and XRP. I think these are also reliable. I'm still reading reviews and comments about other altcoins. I really have some trust issues especially in this matter of choosing. Better to be safe than sorry.
