Title: MEXC token - scam?
Post by: CRYPTORALF on October 30, 2019, 05:59:53 PM

Hi there,

found MEXC among highest market cap coins on coinmarketcap and was surprised to never have heard of it. Anyone know something about it?

The website looks neat, but the bluepaper is shallow and I don't understand why they'd need a blockchain...

Thanks.

There must have been some news that made some people to fomo and pump the price. If you look at the data on coinmarketcap now, you can see that it's being dumped already with most volume coming from Bilaxy. This is most likely a case of another pump and dump but I don't think that it's enough reason to call it a scam.

Thanks. I'm rather new to crypto, so it's the first time I witness such a "pump and dump". let's see where it goes from here...

a few days ago i saw a group pump&dump on telegram and i saw that they already did the pump with the coins price increase up to 500%
after that, they dump the coins up to -200% from the original price that before they pump it

I never heard of the token, they have an inactive ANN thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2892923.0), but an active telegram channel (https://t.me/mexclife). Their telegram channel is neat, banning all scammers and have an active admin who give updates about the project. I didn't see any scam reports too (if someone see anything, you can share here).

This is just a speculation of mine, maybe:
1. some traders pumped the price before the tokens bought on IEO become unlocked. It was scheduled to be unlocked on November 8, holders can move their tokens to exchanges by then.
2. or they buy and hold now because it was said that the token will be listed on Binance soon, and they are negotiating with other exchanges too.

It's the same as unused LEO which was already got the big volume from the fully manipulated exchange site like dragon exchange
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/unus-sed-leo/#markets

You must not take any crap coin with its pump and dump seriously. MEXC token is a scam token. Any trusted coin will have gotten big volume on the real exchange site that is not manipulated and by the way i have experienced a few crap coins were getting a big pump but that has been dumping instantly. A big gap between buy and sell order seems become the easy part to help traders manipulate the shitcoin.

So many times this trick has already used to lure the traders to buy such coin.
Any shitcoin that gets pump and dump will back to the ground again.

This is a strategy that they do. their media social account is very active and keeps updating the latest news.
The current volume looks very large and there are only 3 exchanges, but the exchange is also not very popular. This could be volume manipulation on the exchange, so it can make this coin look more active in trading. Moreover, added to the speculation that will be entered in the exchange binance. We'll see how it goes, if the project is indeed listed on binance, I think they are really serious.

ya im almost positive this is just a scam i wouldn't worry about it much lol
the team looks shady, and theres too many of them, which is a sure sign of shadyness in these projects. This was a popular scammer theme "medical+blockchain" for a while.
A legit medical industry blockchain project would be huge and backed by enough big names you would KNOW it was legit, tho the idea of this one is pretty dumb, ambulance on blockchain haha
this is trash :P

This is the first time I'm hearing this coin. When viewed from the trading volume in Whitebit, Exrates, and Bilaxy by coinmarketcap, it is likely that this coin will eventually go to the grave. The volume history never touched $4000. This means that this coin is only some people who are interested. As ever, no health-related projects really developed well. This could be lead to a scam.

What can we expect from a newly listed project, it’s either natural demand or pumped by hype. Its not a surprise really, most projects do this to accumulate more funds for future development then slowly drop their holdings to a decent level. We can’t really identify them as scam maybe its just sort of market anomaly.

This coin is ranked 204th in Coinmarketcap but the volume does not show good in several exchanges, I do not know whether MEXC is often manipulated by the team or not, I see this token is not so much attracted by buying and selling orders only very few even though the position is at top alert.

i think the trading volume is fairly good for a new coin because right now the total trading volume 24h for this coin around 31btc
but if we look at trading chart that this coins got dump pretty hard from 7k satoshi down to 2k satoshi

Becareful buying that token if you are planning to. Here is my opinion its not normal to lose -25% in just one day trade, there is  something wrong with this coin because according to CMC the price right now is 600% roi which too dangerous for traders to enter  if you want to have profit .remember that the price is  already at thier peak . This one of the project that make an IEO before with unpopular exchange dubi exchange .

Here is the announcement thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5162841.0
Base on the ann you will see that there are no community supporters of that project so its hard for them to maintain that price and there is no update given after IEO.

They never did a campaign here and people are unaware of this project, people should look closely if they have a good platform and what's the reason behind that pump, 600% roi is huge you can make a profit here but if you do not know when to exit, you are going to lose huge here, I prefer a long term profitability, not a short one with risk of losing everything.

600% ROI on something that was not traded at that price for more than pennies and is no traded on the shadiest exchange , exrates.

Yeah, the typical all over the world project but oy with linkedin profiles.
And the only one that actually has a fb profile has an inactive but one message from 2011

10 or more are empty pages or references and the rest is written with double spaces so it looks bigger but it can be cramped in two a4 pages.

Typical garbage coin.
