Title: Share Your Experiences
Post by: Qunner on November 01, 2019, 06:05:30 AM
Was reading about how Bitcoin first came into existence and people's first experiences with Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc on Reddit. I want to know how your guy's first experiences was with Bitcoin, and if you ever had any regrets or wins throughout the years. Also, would be cool to know how people first actually got Bitcoin back nearly a decade ago when it wasn't as easy as buying some from a local Bitcoin ATM near you.

This is the 11th year anniversary of the publication of the WhitePaper for Bitcoin and many members of this forum are remembering this hallmark event, in a way celebrating this day. I am not sure if there is already a Bitcoin Day but if there is not then we can consider this one to be. I was introduced into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency for that matter way back in 2016 all because I was enticed to join a revshare program which eventually became just another scam. At that time, I remember that the price of Bitcoin was just a little more than $500. After that I lost most of my Bitcoin but I decided to accumulate more via the usual bounties route converting the tokens or coins I got into BTC as soon as possible. Then 2018 came and I decided to let go all of my BTC around March for personal reason, the price was hovering over $3000. That was a sad day for me because two months after, the price jumped into $6000. Nevertheless, I continued scouting for opportunities to earn BTC and that brings me to the present. I now have a little hoard of BTC and I am strongly hodling them for the possible bull run in 2020. I know this is not the most ideal way of thinking but we have to be honest that we all want money here, though I am not limiting my knowledge on Bitcoin as I am aware of its game-changing benefits and advantages.

Topic: My sweet and bitter experience about bitcoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4839182.0

The first topic is currently at 85 pages, and the second is at 30 pages. That should keep you reading for a while.

And just to answer your question: Personally, I found out about bitcoin from bitcoin mining as I was looking for ways to earn money on the internet in the past. As with regrets, gambling too much into altcoins.

I first knew Bitcoin through social media, then I find out more about bitcoin, Initially I got Bitcoin through a faucet, then cloud mining, until finally getting to know this forum, what makes me regret is that when I get bitcoin I always sell, because it used to be very cheap, if patiently holding bitcoin will certainly get a lot of profit.

let's see.......

-lost coins when cryptsy exit scammed in 2016
-lost coins when bitfinex got "hacked" in 2016
-lost coins when btc-e got taken down by the feds in 2017

notice a pattern? ;)

i definitely regret those mistakes---especially the last one because it happened right on the cusp of the 2017 bubble. after getting bit 3 times, i don't risk keeping much money on exchanges anymore!

It was actually great and I have never regret anything despite of facing different problems and issues before. Despite of that I have learned to accept things particularly when it comes to my decision making because I've had make some mistakes before because of scams which leads into negative situations but it makes me realized a lot of things like I have to learn from it and now my life becomes better because of bitcoin. Bitcoin opened me for new opportunities and adventures which helps me to be a better version of myself. It helps me to become financially stable and help me to know myself even better. It was actually introduced by my friend and I don't have any idea about it before unlike them, they are investing and earning profit because of it. I thought it was a scam at first because of those sweet information about it like it was too good to be true but it was absolutely amazing when I have experience it.

The first time I was introduced to Bitcoin was at a friends party at his house, but I did not take the guy serious when he was talking about this, because he looked like a real "crazy" guy.  ::)  Now that I think about it, I might have replaced that guy and when I start talking about Bitcoin, people might think I am crazy.  ;)

In any way, I did not struggle to buy any bitcoins back then, because "crazy guy" was a early adopter and he was keen to sell bitcoins to me at the higher price.  ;D

I have a lot of learnings and experience, but the most highlight in my life is that:

Year 2016: My life is a bit changing , pay debt any was able to pay our bills on time
Year 2017: I begun to save and slowly renovating our house
Year 2018: Fully paid of our house
Year 2019: Full payment of car and begun investing in real estate

Hope everyone will have long journey towards crypto. Long live everyone!

I have one of those 'could have been a millionaire but lost the hard drive stories'. Basically was pretty into mining during 2013 I think, but after upgrading the PC I wiped the old hard drive with 20 BTC+ of coins (at the time it was worth around 10 dollars each).

I remember being so pissed at losing 200 bucks at the I ended up getting a cheaper ram kit (lower speeds I think), and then came back after a couple years and got even more pissed...

I've heard about BTC around 2015/16-ish? I forgot the exact year it was.

January - Feb 2017 I got my first decimal portion of BTC from a campaign that I my friend saw from the Services sub. I got around USD 100 worth of BTC by doing that task. I was able to celebrate my son's birthday because of it.

At around Q3 2017 I've started doing a lotta campaigns and earned a good amount of coins then converted to fiat.

Q4 2017 - Q1 2018 was the best days of my crypto experience.

I used to see bitcoin on the piratebay website far back as 2012 but never had any reason to inquire what it was about, maybe my only regret. The time I got to know about it, I felt so angry with my negligence. I must have missed those free donation of bitcoin in the early days, and purchase at lower price. Its 4 years on the road, privileged with ICO rally and altcoins market. Still in my first cycle in the space and though I am still inexperienced.

I first heard about Bitcoin last 2015 from a friend but I didn't take it seriously. I even thought of it as scam which I really regret until now. Maybe, Bitcoin wasn't for me during that time but if I only believed my friend, I might gain a good profit last 2017. There's a right season for everything. As I look back in the history of Bitcoin, I have noticed that it has been through a lot so we can't say that Bitcoin isn't growing for years.

I was introduced to bitcoin in 2016 in an underground group that discussed ransomware and redeemed using bitcoin, then I was interested in bitcoin and learned it early in mid-2017 it was my victory day because I played airdrop, bounty, faucet to get bitcoin and I got around 0.02 btc at that time, but for this year airdrop, bounty and faucet are too many scams, because they are more concerned with the developer than the members

There were many lessons I learned when I was new to bitcoin. It's just frustrating, because it was so easy to earn bitcoin back then. If I just remembered that old memory, I would probably be rich today. But it's a memory and it will be a story that will never be repeated.

In my experience, I first started seeing this bitcoin thing in the news but I definitely don't have any idea about cryptocurrency and i do some research about it. In that time my only goal is to gain profit in this thins because some of my friends tell me that they are earning money in bitcoin but I was not aware of this forum. I started in this forum just like what they tell me and i guess it works out really good in my first try and tells me to join a signature campaign also at that time I already starting to earn money and invest it in bitcoin. The profit and not that good that it was overwhelming especially when you realized that you are already earning money. Bitcoin that years increases its price very high and that's when everybody gets hype in bitcoin.

I don't know what happens beyond in the year 2014 and what processing when buying bitcoin. I am a late adopter of bitcoin and that was in the year 2014. All I know is getting on airdrop and joining bounty programs back then. Through that scenario one of my friend told me about this forum and join the conversation for possible getting free Bitcoin. But the saddest part is I don't have savings until now in Bitcoin even though I got them free. Probably, at that time there's no ATM machine for Bitcoin and not so well know and no payment process adopted.

Was doing a lot of buying and selling on small hobby P2P forum. Recall is was about mid 2013, had a listing for sale asking $1200 and person pm's me asking if I would take BTC. Never heard of it before, did some searching on the internet and after about 30-45min laughed at the idea and declined the offer. Wasn't till about early 2017 and popped up again with the talking heads on TV, started to slowly pay more attention and study the blockchain space on a regular and more consistent basis. Hindsight is always 20/20 but always best to keep looking forward.

I'm sure it is in early 2017 or some part of 2017, Bitcoin showed up on news consecutively on news, tv media's and other social media around 2017. It also showed up on our countries tv media channels. The price consecutive ascending price is the main reason that triggers every media to give awareness about bitcoin. It triggers people in the world to know about bitcoin and how can they make money from it. It is the thing that happened to you.

I started to know bitcoin in 2013 and it has too much less value if you compare it to today's price and bitcoin ain't famous at that time. I don't earn too much profit from bitcoin before because of its value but It's an advantage to know bitcoin on an early stage. Then I've stopped using it for a long time because of personal problems and triggered myself to resume until now.

I actually I join here year 2017 was the year of the great bull run which the price of bitcoin hit the 20,000$. My experience in bitcoin was totally good and when I start here I can earn some extra money that can be used in my study. One of my regrets is I didn't buy more bitcoin in the year 2017 where is the year I started. I know some of the members here have a good experience with bitcoin simply because some of them earn millions of dollars when the price hits 20,000$. As of now in my country, we have now bitcoin atm but it is too far in my home that's why I usually use cryptocurrency exchange to buy bitcoin.

A few friends, a few families, and a few encounters on the internet made me discover Bitcoin. My first encounter with Bitcoin is not so special, not even memorable. It is the first deeper encounters with Bitcoin that made me get into it finally.

My regrets are more interesting. But I've moved on. I regret not converting many of my altcoins to Bitcoin when they were still valuable. Many of them are now dead. Thousands of USD are lost in the process. I also regret selling BTC when the price was very low and not selling when the price was extremely high. Greed and fear are two things that turned me away from reason many times in the past. I've had trading regrets also.  But they were all lessons now.

My first experience with bitcoin is a pretty wild ride lets say. I started from faucets from 0 and I continue it because I want to earn free money online as a student and all went good. Regrets on my bitcoin journey are getting addicted to gambling which eventually literally cleaned my bitcoin bankroll back in the days.

Maybe through exchanges? Because there is no way you can buy bitcoin back then when no such ATMs exist now, you can only buy from exchange or do p2p transactions to other bitcoin users.

Regrets with selling before but that is in the past. As of now, I just want to accumulate more preparing for something larger that may happen.

Regarding how I got bitcoin before, it was all faucets.
Never really trusted the technology in the start since there are a lot of negative feedbacks and also videos in Youtube that seems frustrated of how the price turned down in an instant.
So back to faucets, before I could hoard like 300k satoshis in just one day and I am not even doing it the full 24 hours. But now that wont happen anymore even if you do it for a very long time.
Better take jobs that pays in bitcoin and keep it until it could be used in a better way.

My regret and I guess this would be for others too is by not selling during the all-time high.

I've sold some but I didn't take the time to realize that it's already the right time to sell a lot on my stash including altcoins. That was a very valuable experience and removing the attitude of being greedy helped me.

One of my friend introduced me to bitcoin and said we can shared me some video link which was over an 2 hours video explaining in and out of bitcoin and it's purpose then he introduced me to this forum saying that we earn earn bitcoin just by posting comments in this forum and bitmixer was one of the reigning signature campaigns at that point of time and that's how I earned bitcoin before gradual excelling into other ways like trading, investment and all but unfortunately I lost my private key for blockchain wallet as I was bit careless at that point of time.

I met Bitcoin because of friend, he encourage me to play in a online casino to play dice without placing any money. He taught me how to get the coin which will be used in gameplay which is Bitcoin through faucets and I got really fascinated about it. Eventually he found this forum and invited me again to participate in signature campaigns which gives me enough knowledge, experiences and funds then I learn how to trade and make an investment. The only regret I felt is that I should discover it more earlier so that I can invest an enough amount of money and get a high return in uptrend happened in 2017.

The experiences we have to share are definitely going to fill up several pages but i would just summarize it in a shot text.
First of all, i was like the doubtful Thomas when i heard about bitcoin from a friend until i earned some tokens which i later sold for some BTC. Damn, i was so delighted i could not hold back. I wanted to learn more about cryptocurrencies. Frankly speaking the income got me interested in cryptocurrencies but this motive changed when i got to realize the full potential of the blockchain technology and the use of cryptocurrencies.

Ever since then i have been a strong crypto enthusiasts who have got scammed with quite a number of projects and we have also had some success with other projects too. The journey through this space has been a hectic one but the knowledge gained was worth it! Hopefully we would see cryptocurrencies esp. Bitcoin being used in our daily activities in the next 10 years.

it's not been too long since I first came and encounter bitcoin unlike the others but as for my experience, at first, I was very reluctant trying this 'cause I don't know... I'm afraid that it might be a scam or whatsoever. But since my friend introduced it to me, and I and my other friends joined together so it gives me assurance. At first, it was hard to understand but as I learn enough, I never regret my decision coming here. And now, I'm even introducing it to others.

The first time I knew bitcoin around 2016 when I was looking for additional income on the internet, then I found faucet site and I tried
to collect bitcoin from there. Not long from there I got to know airdrops, after my airdrops get to know the bounty and trading. I tried to
run it for a year finally when the price of bitcoin reached the highest price i have a large profit. But unfortunately in 2018-2019 I was having
a hard time because my bitcoin dropped dramatically lost assets by up to 80%. Now I am trying to get up again through bounty and trading.

Most crypto users that exist today are actually started in doing faucets. I also do faucets when I was started, but I quit immediately for a reason that I can't meet the minimum withdrawal.
As a student, you're doing good since you already know how to earn money, though, we can say that profits from faucets is not that high, but it is still considered as an earning.

There are no financial services when bitcoin was started, only exchanges. Those were the days when bitcoin was not so popular, and its price is still cheap. Everyone can afford it.

I've known about it since 2016 about 3 years ago. It's been good and interesting so far. I've learned on how to buy and sell btc, been part of trading and doing some signature campaigns and postings until now. I also have some quite bad experiences like when I missed out an email informing me that the trading I was into has already closed and I need to withdraw the fund before the said due date. Unfortunately, I haven't did it since I read the email after the due date already. Another was when I get into a sig campaign and work for it in three months but I was not paid. I'm quite disappointed about it. But I still buy and sell btc every now and then to cope up everything. It's risky but interesting.

It's really happy to see those testimonials from people that had change their life because of cryptocurrency, its really a grest pleasure to be part of this journey.

Since I begun here, I also have that much money because I see to it that all I have experience will be experience by my siblings too, so I am helping them with their allowances and other needs in school.

So I was scrolling on the internet and it happens that I saw something related to bitcoin. At first I didn't care at all but after some time, I guess months? I saw something again and I got curious then remembered that a friend of mine mentioned bitcoin before so I asked him and then that's the start. To make the story short, I become more interested and never expect I'll be staying here for years now.
Regrets? Yes I do. I regret losing some btc because of carelessness but since I've learnt from it, I'm becoming more careful.

I found out about Bitcoin in 2012, but I made a decision to invest until 2017, because I focused on other issues, but then I decided to concentrate 100% on the activities related to cryptocurrencies, because I am sure that this is the Money from the future and also from the present, if at the time I had heard of Bitcoin I had made the decision to invest, today I would have a fortune, however, the opportunities remain open.

I didn't know Bitcoin before, I just found out about it with a friend of mine who also uses bitcoin. It made me curious to know this because I didn't have a job back then. So I started bitcoin by claiming faucet sites, invesments and more. Probably the best experience I've had here was the first time I received bitcoin in my wallet. (0.0001 BTC) worth 0.10 $. That's why I was so happy.

The most frustrating thing that has happened to me here is that I would have earned 10 BTC in trading. But because I was scared then I sold my token right away thinking the price would drop right away.

Curiosity really drives us to where we are right now.

That is also the same experience I have, after knowing bitcoin from a friend thru social media, I started to do research and ask him directly about it. I tried everything, investing, trading and even gambling just to earn.
My curiosity opens a new path and gives me an opportunity to learn and earn at the same time.

I got to know bitcoin in 2015 from some of my friends, at that time they tried to introduce and explain about bitcoin but I didn't respond well even I didn't care and that was my stupidity.
and from time to time for a year and a half I saw the lives of some of my friends financially changed and had far better facilities than before, and finally in early 2017 I began to be interested and listen to them when explaining in detail about bitcoin and finally I joined and until now, and I really enjoyed it and it was very fun because my life was better than before and I also enjoyed good profits when that time bitcoin reached the highest price at the end of 2017.

Thank you friends and bitcoin  :-*

My first experience happened through my friend, he gave introduction about bitcoin. Later he created a wallet for me on blockchain.info which is the domain name earlier. He transacted a small fraction of bitcoin and this got received in my wallet. Further explained about the possibilities of usage. After all this after few days explained how to cash out and he received the cash on his bank account on selling bitcoin. This made me interested towards it. I too have regrets, because those days when I learned about bitcoin the price was not more than $500.

I have known Bitcoin because of some altcoin advertisment that lead me to this forum.  At first I participated in altcoin giveaway, got a short break and came back on 2016 and stays until now.  It was a lot of learning and earning experience especially during those cryptocurrency peak season of 2017.    I am able to earn profits that enable the change in my life.  From nothing to something, that is what Bitcoin let me experience.

Lucky for me I first heard about bitcoin by accident, I was looking for a way to buy a piece of software but I had no way to pay for it and then I saw there was a form of payment I have never hear about, something called bitcoin, I investigated what it was and I liked the concept and bought some of it to buy that software, and about my biggest regret I suppose the majority of the members of the forum will be with me on this one, to not have sold my coins at the end of 2017.

I'd say bad, because in a retrospective, Satoshi foolishly released a windows only wallet. This lost me interest, two years earlier i said goodbye to windows, and never went back to it ever since. Yes, with the code available it was ported later but during that time i was busy with my job and didn't care about it until it was too late for me to be able to just buy and hold. The economy in this country collapsed due the eternal politician idiocy, the fact that they can cause a disaster and have the weaponry to remain eternally in power unchecked.

In 2013 i played with Dogecoin which indirectly made me learn about Bitcoin, but we no longer had access to foreign currency, and there was no path to buy, even if you could, it would amount to a few satoshis anyway.

And things only got much much worse.

This is why, you cannot trust people. Do not trust, this is what makes bitcoin strong. No surprises, all is code.

Let all fiat and Chicago school inflationary economies fall, the sooner the better. No more debt, no more fractional reserve banking, no more bubbles.

First got to know about bitcoin when I was randomly browsing the internet. It was like back in 2013 or maybe even before. Didn't show much interest on it, then one day I was looking for a way to gamble without much hassle and came across bitcoin again. Got a little bit interested on crypto currencies. Started to invest on it (and gamble too).
Lost a lot when gambling, but I don't regret anything.

I found bitcoin first trough app called stumbleupon. It gave me a link to the video that explained btc. I downloaded the walled and can't remember if i got the miner working or not,
but then i quickly gave up because i didn't understand any of it. Some time passed and i read about darkcoin trough reddit, and went into that.
Then there was a long time frame of wins and losses (mostly losses before i learned how to trade).
Eventually i left the whole scene that i do regret. At the time bitcoin was going from $500 to near $300, so i gave up nearly on the bottom.
I really thought that this would have been the end of a pipe dream, and the amount of bitcoin i spend those days still gives me shivers.
But as i learned to get more money in bearmaket with swing trades it anyway, i wanted to come back. So i came back when it was 500 again coming up and i am still in here, and this time i am not leaving.
Sometimes i still wonder if one of those hard drives on my closet contain the old wallet and if i mined bitcoin or not. I need to get an adapter to check them out some day.

I have a lot of learnings and experience, but

Year 2016: My life is a bit changing , pay debt any was able to pay our bills on time
Year 2017: I begun to save and slowly renovating our house
Year 2018: Fully paid of our house
Year 2019: Full payment of car and begun investing in real estate

Hope everyone will have long journey towards crypto. Long live everyone!
A very extraordinary experience. Hopefully, your next wish can be achieved.
And this is If this is the most highlight in my life
2017: get a dream wedding
2018: go to Mecca and Medina
2019: soon ... I want to buy a house, even though 2019 will soon be over but I'm very sure there is still a chance to get this.
see? Isn't cryptocurrency full of surprises? so don't waste this opportunity at all. That is why I decided to resign from my previous job and focus on trading and doing bounties. Plan B, I want to make an independent business for passive income, because cryptocurrency sometimes gives difficulties too.

I found out bitcoin from a trading analysis app, it is SparkProfit. where every member who succeeds in guessing the price movement will be paid a dollar. and withdrawal options are via Bitcoin. after that I searched for new information, and got the freebitco.in website and the flappy bird game. who pays bitcoin too. in one month I make 0.2BTC (rate 300 $ / BTC in 2014) through faucet etc. until now I was trading and Bitcointalk. and my regret is always converting my BTC to fiat. so I can't take high prices in 2017. and after that I started collecting BTC again through Bounty and trading. I never buy BTC from ATMs or etc

As of this moment at my local place, without atm outlets for crypto was not openly accessible to people except me who've been using bitcoin for a long time. It was a cool experience that I've been lucky enough having bitcoin independently, and earning it without limitations compated to those person who has no knowledge about it. Though I've been sharing my thoughts towards my friends about bitcoin, it isn't enough to educate them unless it became popular at different places.

I knew bitcoin when in 2011. At that time I opened a local forum site called "kaskus" and discussed bitcoin there. I was very interested and finally, I bought it with a friend I knew through Facebook. I bought with all my salary for a month. I want to buy something with bitcoin but no online shop accepts BTC as payment. I thought bitcoin was a scam at the time, I regretted having spent my salary on bitcoin and decided to leave it in my wallet. when 2017 the bitcoin trend is very lively to discuss and I was very surprised to see the price of bitcoin in 2017. I was lucky to still keep bitcoin in my wallet and still keep a private key on my laptop. that's my experience when I first knew Bitcoin.

I got my first coins during the 4th quarter of 2012. Back then the exchange rates were around $10 per coin. But it was not easy to purchase Bitcoin back then. A few international exchanges such as BTC-e and Mt Gox were online during that time, but it was not very easy to deposit cash in these exchanges, especially if you are residing in Asia. So I got my coins from Localbitcoins, after paying a premium of 20%.

And I was very nervous when I made my first purchase. I was scammed a few times in the internet before that, and I was not completely sure whether Bitcoin was genuine or not. But a few months after I purchased my first coins, the first Bitcoin bull run occurred. The exchange rates shot up from $10 to $261, and later that year, they rose to $1,250 per coin.

I figure out bitcoin through my friends and colleagues who are always busy in their laptops. I was the one who are just doing some stuffs regarding to my education when one of my friend approached me and introduce blockchain technology as a research. In this case, my plan is to create a secured voting system that will serve as my thesis but it turns out to bitcoin where I put almost all of my free time. You know why? studying while earning money is much cooler than developing thesis while suffering.

2017 is the beginning where I get to know bitcoin, of course with news on social media and some people who might recommend finding out more about bitcoin. Trading was one of the profitable activities at that time, a pretty good price increase until the peak was at the end of 2017. The beginning of the first trade was actually very tense because I still doubted the safety of investment assets directly related to capital (money). But having studied and experience has made everyone feel comfortable to start better here.

I learned about bitcoin when I was a fresh grad in College and honestly my experience was really not good. I learned about crypto through my brother and the only way I know on how to grow my investment was either through HYIP, gambling or faucet and it is the first time I have invested into something, the first one that I have invested into paid me, then I thought money was easy, on my second investment all my money got robbed. It was tragic but as time goes by I learn things about crypto and it was not really an easy way to earn money, it could be but the risk is too high. As years go by I learn a little about trading, this forum and bounties and also had a free-lance job where I was able to use some of my spare money in investing in crypto.

I have had many good and bad experiences in the past related to crypto and bitcoin. I've made a fortune in gambling and also lost tons of money in it. I've been hacked because of installing an app on my laptop that was having a backdoor. But these ups n downs are also an integral part of life and you get valuable experience from these incidents, so yeah I will not repeat those mistakes that I did in the past.

My best experience was when I made a huge sum of money. This is because of the bounty campaign which has given me great opportunities in life. My only regret was the chance, which I should have accumulated bitcoin before.. But it is impossible for us to return to these times. So it will serve as a reminder that we value every bitcoin we have because someday its price will rise dramatically.

I know bitcoin at the end of 2016 from my brother, he invited me to invest in bitcoin. but at the time I was not interested in bitcoin because I thought bitcoin was a ponzi scheme. and at that time I also did not have money. finally I entered bitcoin again in 2018 after bitcoin experienced a high increase in 2017. I started to follow the campaign project and collect some tokens. there are tokens that have high value and some that have low value. and some of the tokens I used to buy bitcoin. and until now I will be patient waiting for bullish bitcoin again.

The first time I know bitcoin, I don't expect to make money because, at that time, I don't know anything about bitcoin. But I follow my friend suggested getting bitcoin day by day. I remember I use qoinpro as my bitcoin source to get a free satoshi, but I forget how much I earn from that site because I don't check it for a long time.

But then, in 2017, that was my biggest profit ever because I can sell almost all of my coin at the very highest price, and that makes me very happy. After that year, I don't invest too much but wait for a while. But then I am sad to see the crypto has started to down until now. But I believe that soon, the market will be back as 2017 and I will make a big profit again.

A regret that will never be forgotten that I was told by friend about bitcoin 2014 ago and he offered me to buy it at the lower price but yeah I just assumed bitcoin as a scam place and I could lost my money on it.

My bitcoin story started in February 2017 just as Bitcoin was reaching 1000k for the 2nd time.  A friend of a friend was running a mining operation in Bali but he was very secretive about what he was doing. He said that he was hosting information for big companies on his servers.  I knew just enough at the time that he was not telling the truth fully. I think it was the secrecy  shrouding his small farm that kept me very interested.  Within a couple weeks I found myself with a BTC position and feeling ready to trade just like most noobies in the beginning.
Try as I could, It seemed I was particularly good at buying the top and selling the bottom.
In this time Bitcoin was a new and crazy concept and  still largely unheard of by most of the world.  I remember speaking with my father over the phone and him telling me it sounded like a ponzi scam or MLM group.  His words were powerful and I got scared and lost 1/3 my BTC value over the next couple trades. I got frustrated and decided to sell everything and get my money back and that my father was probably right. During that time, BTC dropped from 2800 to 1800.  At 1800 I knew price was likely oversold and I bought with everything I had.

Finally it was The Wall Observer thread right here in our own forum where I received my greatest education in Bitcoin and of course Andreas Antonopoulos.

I still don't trade, too much stress for me, only buy and HODL, buy and HODL.   Oh and buy and SPENDL  is ok also.

I knew about bitcoin through faucets, so at that time the bitcoin faucet wasn't as small as it is now in the faucet. At that time I forgot what year, but I diligently collected bitcoin and other coins such as doge from the faucet, so that when I sold enough, it was not much if I got it from the faucet, but if it was sold in 2018 early when bitcoin was worth the shoot, maybe I already have the capital to trade and can double my capital. For that I now greatly appreciate the small amount of bitcoin, because I think it will be even more valuable in the future, or a few years from now.

My experience is kinda different as I didn't expect that I will meet crypto currencies especially bitcoin as I am only looking for some ways to gamble online without using fiat or real money.

Buying bitcoin at that time is very easy as we have local exchange that can easily convert fiat to bitcoin. And after that, I started to learn how to use bitcoin and I keep on digging what is it and upon knowing that it can be use also to investment then I spare my extra money in stocking bitcoin. That time, bitcoin is still 200$ and if I hold it until now I guess I am a millionaire already but I am not lucky in holding so that was my biggest regrets.

Well, as for me when bitcoin was first introduced to me, i don't think that buying bitcoin could be a scam or a fraud because i see that my friend is already earning money with bitcoin. So my first experienced with bitcoin was not so great for me at first because i was so impatient waiting for my money to grow and i don't know other ways for me to earn more bitcoin, that is why i have been researching and asked my friend about it then i started doing trading, which it didn't go well for me at first because i experienced losses. But for now, here i am thanking bitcoin without any regrets because i am already earning huge profits that i could buy the things that i wanted and needed by trading which i still experienced losses, but now i learned how to minimize it and i also joining signature campaign here in this forum.

My first encounter with bitcoin was way back when it's price was still really low. I didn't mind investing or trying to buy one before and now here I am, regretting it because it is one of the rarest chance that I've missed out my entire life. I met bitcoin again through my friend and that's when I started joining projects to earn bitcoin. I learned about bitcoin through my classmates. We were actually talking about the gambling site my classmate used to visit and he always boasted on how high his earnings have become. At first we thought it he was just kidding because we all have no idea that there's such thing as digital money. He taught us some ways to earn such as joining signature campaigns and gambling and we all experienced what he have gone through and as a result, we are all investing in bitcoin up until now hoping to see the price go to new highs again.

My first bitcoin encounter is through a friend. They were just talking about it, I was not even joined in their conversation. But they talk a bit loud so I overheard them talking about earning through posting. It caught my attention and asked them how. I mean, who doesn't want to earn right? Especially, I was studying that time and in need of financial assistance. I knew I had to make money for myself also. Then I read articles online for further information and knowledge.

My only regret, I guess, is not entering earlier. Maybe I'm rich now if I knew it when it was new and at a high equivalent.

That's kind of interesting thing for you, you discover bitcoin because of your classmate who gamble using crypto. If it was me, if I get to know bitcoin was about gambling, I will avoid it.
As for me, I was started doing faucets, I actually wanted to earn without capital and until I discover bounty campaigns, since then, I keep on learning even in investing and trading.

I love your story not because I pity you but because this is a common poignant story with many other people. At the time when Bitcoin was not yet into thousands, people were not very, very careful with the hoard of coins they got. In your case, you could have focused more attention to make sure that your digital asset was safe before doing the upgrade of the PC. it would have been a different story if Bitcoin was already into say $3000 because you would do everything not to lost them. Anyway, all are like the waters under the bridge now. All we can do is sigh and maybe learn some big lessons here. At today's running rate of $9000, that 20 BTC can be costing you $180,000 and that can already be a lot of money especially if you are based in a developing country like where I am now. Maybe you can make a good post on this story of yours.

I also remember the very day I learned about Bitcoin. At that time, i was interested to get hold of one because I was about to be a part of a revshare program (which eventually became a scam, anyway). Just getting Bitcoin was enough for me, it was just alter that I realized that Bitcoin is representing more than a currency it is a big power right in our very hands. I eventually lost my Bitcoin but because there are some ways to get one without buying it, I then slowly recovered what I lost.

a few years ago around 2016 my first experience getting to know bitcoin with the bitcoin faucet at that time I got 0.1 btc from working hard with a faucet of course I was very happy to be able to get a little bitcoin, but finally I decided to pause to look for bitcoin in years those years because the price of bitcoin at that time was only $ 1k and then in 2017 the price of bitcoin was almost $ 7k I certainly feel very sorry why I had to stop looking for bitcoin in 2016, some of you might laugh at me by hearing my experiences like that .

I first searched for bitcoin by participating in bounty and social media campaigns. I don't get bored of working every day because I think it's very beneficial. and until now I will still seek income from cryptocurrency.

Never ask me to share my experience during investing with bitcoin and altcoin because I faced with bad memorize to tell you, I have bitcoin from joining bounty campaign reached about 1 btc, I sell when price still $5k and one week later bitcoin price up above $10k, very sad moment to remember with bitcoin and altcoin investing when you invest with higher price cut lots with lower price.

What a sad story, well everyone of us have experienced that especially if you are just doing day trading or short term trading, we can't deny the fact that market is manipulated, so it's okay for as long as you have enough you had some profit than nothing at all, I've been into that many times too, but I don't regret as I don't know what will happen in the market, what if it is gone, then it will lead to a depression, we can still earn in different ways so let's just move on about it.

That's very true. Before the ad-apocalypse there where real chances for people to click some good amounts of coins out.
Sites hosting faucets where not overloaded with heavy ads like we see today. Most of them where quite useful and legit, I remember using epay (no longer exist) for significant amount of time, not the best source of income but it was good enough. Thanks to them I managed my first transactions and got familiarised with the usage of crypto. And then the google ban happened. They basically cut-off this branch entirely, this shows how truly pro-people this company was and still is.

@Qunner my overall experience with bitcoins was positive, the only regret I had was of not buying it earlier when I had the chance to buy it. As I have said before here and I’ll repeat myself I managed to quit my full time job, go on vacations and buy expensive gadgets all thanks to bitcoins. If you have any specific case studies do share it, because it’s always fun to read about bitcoins and especially about early adopters.

I will start with the worst experience;
Not getting curious to know more about Bitcoin and this forum in 2015 when i first heard about it from a friend. Ignored it until late 2017. Had i joined in 2015, i think i would be doing much better than i am right now Knowledge wise, experience wise and financially.

Best Experience:
I discovered a new way of making my purchases and transactions through BTC without exorbitant fees and taxes from institutional service providers and bodies
Getting to know about BTC also helped learn how to make money through trading

Knew Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general in 2013 when the price was not even exceed $100 for each Bitcoin. At that day I had a thought that this Bitcoin was just like other shitass scheme because I found it on faucet where you do simple stuff to earn Bitcoin and I thought that was a silly idea at first and decided to leave.

But in 2016 I came back and Bitcoin's price at that day was really incredible, I remember it was $800 in mid 2016 and I felt regret to not spent my time doing research at that day which I feel that is not a big deal because at that day I didn't even know how to search things properly lol.

I was  first known bitcoin way back 2016 when most of those ponzi and hyip was really hyping and bitcoin was the main form of participating.
Though I was victimized from one of those business but it was the beginning of seeking for real ways of investing.

Buying and holding till the bull run happened, it was a good success benefiting a decent amount of profits.

My only regret is that I did not invest everything from the start.

When I heard about it I first wanted to mine then I tried cloud mining completely forgetting that I could just buy and hold. I thought it's like with traditional investments. That everything goes slow and you have to put in work to make money. You have to risk it by mining trading gambling or get a job paid in bitcoin to profit. I was wrong of course but it took me 2 year to realise that. In those 2 years I could have accumulated over 100 BTC because I had the money to buy as much in 2015.

I never regret actually coming into this space, but yeah I do regret all the mistakes I made, but now that over the last four years I made every mistake you could think of, it's time to put things right and get ready for the next BITCOIN BULL RUN and big nice mass adoption schecule. I knew of Bitcoinb ack in 2010 lol and was clicking faucets to get free bitcoin. At that time within 2 months I had clicked 0.17 BTC, wish I had just out in a few hundred bucks and bought a few hundred lol then all my problems woould be over. We live and learn I guess and there IS still some room to grow. I starting again from scratch and slowly accumulating some BTC AGAIN, OFCOURSE TO GET TO 0.17 BTC NOW THER EIS A LOT MORE WORK INVOLVED.  ;D

In my experience I always see bitcoin online on the internet and also in the news but I have no idea what it is. At first, my classmates tell me that they were earning a good profit in bitcoin but I don't believe that they earn more than a man with a job so I thought it was just a scam and probably they will get scam in the end. But I was wrong I started in forums and then learn about bitcoin and then I join the signature campaign to earn a profit as my friend do. With that, I started earning a good amount of money and invested it in bitcoin. Gaining knowledge in bitcoin was great I also making money in my investment and trading with bitcoin.

If you look at the overall profit in the market i made a good profit in the past few years and i had my losses too in the altcoin market, i was late in the market than most of the users and i started with faucets to understand the basic fundamentals on how to move the coins and then moved on to exchanges to purchase the coins and that is how my journey started.

I just borrow the money that I bought computer, so I was stressed thinking how will I really it until we met the real friend who introduced me here. And now, I even have my own computer shop.

Unfortunately according to the current financial economic status even if you are qualified to work , you just can not expect them to pay you what you deserve in a developing country .
I stumbled across Bitcoins when I wanted to make some money and it was pretty much it , it doesn't may you that much considering the amount you generally invest and about the UPS and downs but it have helped me work from home and actually make some money for myself .
At best you can take care of your daily expenses .
My side have been amazing and am so proud of working at a place where the income is being generated with the help of Bitcoins , not a governmental body .

I have a very big regret about bitcoin, and that big regret is that I did not join the bitcoin community when I had the chance to do so, and that was back then in 2010, back then in 2010, I got to know about bitcoin on my own while trying to look for some of the internet jobs that I could do and some of these Ponzi investment, and I can across lots of them which included bitcoin, and because I classified it as Ponzi, it was not among my choice of Ponzi project because I didn’t understand it, and this is why it is very important that we be a researcher, we have to be able to read and understand things very well, if I had taken time to read about the project concept them, I would have understood everything about the project more than I even do now, but since I got to know about bitcoin anyway, it has really been a very good experience for me with no regrets.

2015 Was the first year I got to know bitcoin and at that time the price was still very cheap around 300-400 $ I was not very interested because there were still other online jobs. but because of the encouragement of my friend who was earlier looking for bitcoin with a faucet I was very interested to follow it. he provided basic education to me at the time until finally I focused on collecting bitcoin. 1 Month at that time I was able to get 0.2 Bitcoin from various bitcoin sites. after that I try to be more serious by trying to find a bitcoin forum to get to know more. to meet Bitcointalk. and everything starts from here. I know how to trade. Following the Bounty to get the maximum profit

Now you have good thing with how to be best investor with your bitcoin and altcoin assets, if you keep hold you disappointed when price go down.

My first experience is not good, I lose money and got scammed though its just a small money but the experience is still not ok. I'm so glad that my friend introduce me in this market and because of my friend I'm now earning a decent money and able to settle my debts. Most people who are here in this forum got scammed, got hacked, lose money from trading, imagine and check carefully, everyone of us suffered from failure, from stressing moment, depressed, but once we keep moving and never give up, then that's the time we will see the success behind us, there's always a reason for everything, we should just keep moving forward and don't quit, once we quit we will not enjoy the fruit of our hardship.

Actually bitcoin's existence comes into my mind when my friend taught me about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency that is revolving around me way back 2015, at first I don't really care about this because I don't know what bitcoin is and what cryptocurrency is.
Throughout the years I almost have the knowledge about bitcoin and when the time comes I almost have 0.5 bitcoin and I hold it until 2017 and I've got a large profit way back then.
Way back year 2011 there is a faucet in where the people was given a 5 btc per day so if we will be given a time to go back those times then maybe we will rich by now. I don't have any regrets on what I've done on my past because I've still get good profit way back then.

Your experience might also me and another colleague find that bitcoin is very powerful and the price is very reliable. many new projects were successful and could pay well and the prices were quite good, so many were very benefited at the time. but that story starts to fade with time because bitcoin goes down and projects that commit fraud make investments very unprofitable. we are waiting for new developments again at the end of this year until next year.

fraud projects make many people assume that bitcoin and crypto are bad. even though it is someone's doing, not the original nature of crypto. I hope that in the future people will be wiser in investing, and bitcoin can reach the highest price again.

I was told about it buy a friend who happened to be making fun of me and Bitcoin. Since I was working at home at that time doing some translations and selling stuff online, I told him that my computer is my job and he started laughing, told me that I must be mining Bitcoin and don't want to tell him. Mining Bitcoin, that sounded interesting in 2014...

My biggest regret is not treating it with respect. I thought Bitcoin was a way to make real money, but it was real money. If only I knew...
Just a little regret with bitcoin too because i never took it seriously when i first heard about it. I thought it was just a scam just like others. But when my friend showed me what he had got with bitcoin, i can't help but be amazed how potential bitcoin is. Now i am starting earning bitcoins too and hoping that it will give me huge profits in the future same with my friend's experience with bitcoin.
Since the day I started, I am grateful that I knew about cryptocurrency, I can actually earn money with my own knowledge and doing it wherever I am as long as I have internet connection. I do earn by joining ICOs and promoting that particular ICO here in the forum and by doing that they are giving me incentives for doing every task, I should also obey forum rules so that my account will be secure. I am not yet being scammed because I am not trusting anyone I do not know, I keep everything in mind that, digital world is broad and there are people who are taking advantage of other people just to get their money. I am happy as of now because the market is actually recovering I hope it will continue until the price comes back and reach its highest peak.

I think at the beginning of 2016. It was so exciting and i was happy i found a means to make money through investing and getting crypto doing different tasks and mining for it. It was fun to collect all these known coins with unknown values. It was fun to see what i could buy with them and that i finally found something i can be passionate about. It just went from there. Now im addicted to collecting coins and tokens.  8)

You are very lucky to be able to buy a car from the results of bitcoin because as long as I joined bitcoin I already have several items that I have bought from the results of bitcoin and the most expensive item I have is a motor vehicle.
bitcoin is indeed very profitable and can realize what it wants, but I am not worried about the current price of bitcoin and we must realize that bitcoin is very volatile where prices can change significantly and after experiencing a decline will definitely increase again.

You see you? You are the type that can abandon a friend in times if challenge lol. Bitcoin has been a very good friend to you in the past to the extent of even buying a car for you, now that bitcoin is a little bit broke to produce the money again, you are a little but discouraged about it and feel hatred for it.

This time that the price is down is the time that you should even make investment in it more, this is the time that bitcoin needs our money, and not the time for us to be running away from investing because it is down in value. Bitcoin needs us to create more activities for it, and it is when there are high activities in bitcoin that we will really see the value grow more, we need to be suing it for payment, and also try and market it to merchants that will accept it for payment.

You are so wrong in leaving bitcoin when its price goes down because this would be the best opportunity for us to buy more cheap bitcoins and hold them until their price recovers. Don't be discouraged easily because it is in our persistency and patience that we get to earn huge profits in bitcoin when its price reaches another ATH.

I think most of the people have regrets with bitcoin. Because they got bitcoin when its price was very low. When bitcoin price hits 500$ suddenly, some people were suggesting to buy and hold, but most of the people started thinking BTC will be gone when its price came to 150-300$! I was a kid about cryptocurrency who just started learning about Bitcoin, so, I did not buy and hold it. Rather I invested in a couple of hype programs through Bitcoin. I can't forget these childish mistakes, so, sometimes I regret it.

Mostly we had regrets and many experiences in bitcoin. When I first learn about bitcoin I invested in Ponzi scheme able to earn instant money but it ended up scam and losing money. But, then it gives me a hope and purchase some btc and sold it when I already earned profit. The regrets I experience during those years when btc was in low price that I wasn't able to buy more. Above all, I am still thankful that I had this chance to learn and earned from this digital money.

I also have something in common, even though I was reminded by some friends not to play Ponzi schemes because at that time my knowledge was small, I tried it. and finally I lost some money owned, since then I started to stay away from the ponzi scheme and make a real investment

I first knew bitcoin through a friend but at first I didn’t put any attention to it because I think it was like some sort of a Ponzi scheme that they just want to invite people for them to get money, as the days went by my friend is quite persistent about investing and that’s when I said to myself to try it but i’m not really expecting to much about it, I also entered trading but I wasn’t lucky or should I say I don’t have much knowledge yet about it so I lost couple of times and about to quit but then one day I came across this forum and i’ve met people as well that helped me understand how bitcoin trading works and now, I can’t say i’m already good at it but I managed to somehow lessen my losses.

I want to know how your guy's first experiences was with Bitcoin, and if you ever had any regrets or wins throughout the years. Also, would be cool to know how people first actually got Bitcoin back nearly a decade ago when it wasn't as easy as buying some from a local Bitcoin ATM near you.

I started getting acquainted with Bitcoins while working on ICO projects, but 3 of 4 turned out to be a scam. This is an unpleasant experience, but my work allowed me to understand how the market works, which tools are there and what value Bitcoin has.

Do you sell because of problems or lack of money or for another reason? It's true, Bitcoin is really incredibly promising in the long term

2017 - I started to know Bitcoin in September of this year and at that time, the price of Bitcoin is in a parabolic rise but I don't care about it. I'm a newbie at that time so who fucking cares about the rise of Bitcoin at that time :D. Only those who knows crypto for a long time are the ones who care about it.

2018 - Year of Hell. At this time, I know some of the basics of Bitcoin already and I know also how to earn it. I focused on bounty campaigns on this year and trying to get profit. Since I didn't invest any fiat money to buy crypto, what I'm getting in bounty campaigns is 100% profit. This is the year also which I got accepted in my current signature campaign right now which is paying Bitcoins.

2019 - Still trying to learn even the basics of Bitcoin. I don't want to dig the complex things about it because I don't have time to do it at this moment.

All in all, I'm happy that I learned cryptocurrency because for me it is a life changing investment/thing and I know that some of the users here too experienced the same.

many altcoins that experienced an increase higher in the last year but now decrease by 90%, including ETH and EOS. so it's still good to buy it now, just waiting for bitcoin going up because usually, some altcoins like eth will follow the movements of bitcoin. about the experience in bitcoin, I know in 2013, when the price of bitcoin was hype because it reached above $1000. since then I was interested and I get a lot of bitcoin from the bounty when the heyday of the bounty in 2014-2017.

It was end of 2010, when a customer of mine suggested to pay in Bitcoin. Back then I was like "wtf?!". I came to the conclusion, it must have been something like a "world-of-warcraft-currency" and denied. He would have paid 4k USD in BitCoin back then. Probably was the worst (economical) idea of my life denying him to pay in BitCoin.
Mid 2013 i then finally jumped the train.

Hello everyone, I am like many of those who make life on this platform, a crypto enthusiasts, I knew the bitcoin by those stories from the deep web, so I wanted to try to find some fraction of it, I set out to read to learn what it was, after spending a couple of months trying to understand what the hell I wanted to get into, I realized that I do not need to enter the deep web or anything like that, I just needed to create a wallet, and that even playing could make me of fractions of bitcoin, I speak of 2014, at that time there were games like FarmSatoshi, BotsFighter, CannonSatoshi, SatoshiGalaxy, CoinBrawl, were games some very funny others not so much, to reach certain levels you got good income. Besides that there were platforms like Zappchain, I loved that place, I had to make good comments and the best 3 or 5 were awarded, I had to access through an account in Coinbase, I saw many great people in this cryptographic world there, it was amazing you felt in the right place, unfortunately I do not know what happened with that platform, could not get funding and at the time was full of spam and great people walked away. Bitsfortips, it was a great place, I made little life there, after a few months they stopped monetizing Venezuelans, I don't remember why exactly it was, but from there more, to Taringa!, they started to give bits (10 bits maximum) per account, the things that happened there were amazing, I think I became a half mafia, breaking the system, from the creation of multi-accounts, getting to have up to 100 accounts, and looking for how to exchange votes, and accumulate fractions of BTC.

I remember, that my first sale of bitcoin, was in December 2015 were 0.16 BTC and at that time were like 80 USD, it was exciting, convert that future digital money by fiat, buy clothes to dress me that year, thanks to the BTC, and also to my parents, they did not leave the astonishment and me of the joy.

At that time it was the madman who did not stop talking about the amazing bitcoin, blockchain, and from there do not stop talking about this.

After that December 2014, my experience with other wallets, such as Cryptonator, blockchain, Coinbase, Xapo, was added Coinwallet, I was a fan of faucets, then worth it, I also liked to accumulate altcoins, I remember having an absurd amount of altcoins, which to date is a considerable amount of money, I would say more than 10.000 USD, it turns out that they were hacked, and they delivered the private keys of the accounts, guess who even in 2019 can not find his key? If I don't remember where I saved that file, and an astonishing amount of altcoins were lost, that to date are well valued some, others I imagine that they changed their name, as a step with dash, others died.

All those who start that world, have to have a history of how they lost $ by forgetting those small details.  With time, I entered social media platform based in blockchain as Steemit, there again I felt like in Zappchain amazing people, where I monetized content and quantities were absurd, I spent 3 months analyzing how the hell to notice me, improving my drawing skills.

After that, already 3 years have passed, in which Steemit, has left me great experiences, from giving 2 talks in a university, faculty of economy of the LUZ, the first one was informal, but in front of all the professors, administrative personnel and deans, just when I thought that I would not return to give an exhibition in front of a professor, I speak in front of 24 people, with highly qualified profiles, many formed in other countries, and I a simple graduate of engineer in industrial instrumentation, but passionate of the cryptos.

Another exciting thing, attend meetups, because in Steemit was part of the community that supports Spanish speakers and had the role of moderator, and by my way of being with people, more than anything because I used to give advice, recommendations on how to guide the content of people, in addition to explaining since it was a cryptocurrency, how to change it to fiat, how the blockchain works, and so hundreds and hundreds of explanations, I really enjoyed that time, in the meetups the people when they knew me in person, it was gratifying to see the joy of them when they met me, and well the same for them, it was amazing to meet other people who begin to understand the blockchain, some very well versed to express themselves in public.

After Steemit, I went to other platforms like Scorum, Narrative, Publish0x, Hypespace, Golos, Whaleshares, Trybe.one, flote.app,  Whaleshares, Smoke, Bearshares, Weku, Ultrum, Masmic, Cent, Typestryc, Beta-sapient, Yours, Memocash, Mind, and so on a long list of social media based on blockchain.

Forget the part where I'm part curator of Curangel content, inner-block in Steemit.

That has been all my journey, I tried to learn to program but I could never do it, someday I will be in better economic conditions to be able to dedicate my time to it, and do something in the blockchain, has been my dream since I met him.

Also, would be cool to know how people first actually got Bitcoin back nearly a decade ago when it wasn't as easy as buying some from a local Bitcoin ATM near you.

Most guys learned about Bitcoin from the web. In the place where I live, cryptocurrencies are still unknown for most people as they simply stay away from the Internet through the problems with the connection. However, recently a fellow I know well, started trading when he heard about BTC in a TV program. It seems the guy has a feel of crypto: the start gave excellent results.

of course i have big regrets for bitcoin, i knew it since 2014 and i just selling it , because i didn't think about hodl it for long time.
oh yeah, on that time , i just 21 years , and my brain is fully of hookers and alcohol.
i found bitcoin and another altcoins on internet, and i try to find it for free , i got it, many many simple task on twitter for get btc on that time, like retweet a stupid tweet for 0.01 btc .
and also such as doge coin and Redcoin, its so easy to get it.
faucet still have a huge reward, but well , all for fucking alcohol  ;D
how i wish i have that chance,to know bitcoin earlier than when i entered.at least you are lucky that what you spent for alcohol is the profit you earn from here and not from you parents money lol.

well, so what will you do if u knowing btc early ?
I think u will satisfy your world desire, rather than hold it and put it to your investement, because what its btc ?
its just nothing, believe me , its just nothing on that time, no one talk about it, there is no real news about it.
and as long there are still people there who want to buy it , i will try to find it.
but well, times changes everything.
and u know what the best of it ?
I spent tens of btc on alcohol, which means I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on alcohol at today's rate, maybe The Dalmore 62 will be enough  ;D.

I have read different stories of this thread especially from first page , in my own case I have not had it very good with bitcoin after hearing about it like 2 years ago. Some had to do faucets and it changed their lives, I guess they were early adopters.
I'm waiting to also see if I can tell a sweet story with bitcoin.

I have known bitcoin since 2016, what I regretted was that at that time my friends recommended buying some altcoin, when they were still cheap and affordable, unfortunately I didn't buy that and the price increased at the end of 2017, but I took it's as an important lesson not to waste the best moments like that anymore
so  now you are buying altcoin already?specially early this year when the lowest market capitalization recorded after 2 years?

yes, I only have a few altcoins that have a high trading volume I have already bought them like ETH and EOS, I will wait for the moment when the bear market is really over, because I don't want to enter the market without knowledge so I need to consult my friends to get altcoin others are cheaper

many altcoins that experienced an increase higher in the last year but now decrease by 90%, including ETH and EOS. so it's still good to buy it now, just waiting for bitcoin going up because usually, some altcoins like eth will follow the movements of bitcoin. about the experience in bitcoin, I know in 2013, when the price of bitcoin was hype because it reached above $1000. since then I was interested and I get a lot of bitcoin from the bounty when the heyday of the bounty in 2014-2017.
thanks for the advice, but I need to wait for the right time, as we know the price of bitcoin is now back below $ 9000 and it makes me feel uncomfortable, but I will always be on the market preparing to buy some other recommended atlcoin

The good decision will be always at on your own hand, if you are uncomfortable, just sit back and relax for a while and wait for the perfect timing that you think and you are sure that good things will happen for Bitcoin, no one will gonna force you to buy Bitcoin if you are not yet ready, so for me, follow your instinct as I do always, when I am in doubt I pause for a moment and wait for the perfect timing.

Ok, my history was like this

2014- It's the first time I'm giving more money to invest in bitcoin. (2.000$)
2015- It was probably the best year since I came out with a profit of $ 1,400 and had a total second thought about bitcoin. PROFIT 1.400$
2016- I was scamed, because I had no experience. LOST 1.000$
2017- I decided to dedicate bitcoin and its study, and invest about $ 1,000, bitcoin is declining, me at a loss. LOST 700$
2018- I decide that year to be an observer, not to participate.
2019- This year I had a couple of successful trades and a lot of progress on the mental things about bitcoin, that is, I don't give up easily, and that hard work brings...

You have to be cunning, look to the future, have a plan, to be successful in the crypto world.

I didn't have BTC when I first started, I just tried buying XRP to trade it myself. When I got BTC, its not a new experience already since its almost the same thing for all crypto.

I can't find ways to relax when all are dumping and the value of your BTC keeps depreciating, its best to also dump and then also buy when they start buying as well.

~snip~

In 2009, when Bitcoin was launched, a friend who studied with me at the university, went to the computer lab and told me that he was accumulating a digital currency through a tap, he told me they were free, that I would also take advantage, in I didn't pay attention to that moment, because I thought they were jobs through ads that paid very little.

In 2017 I found him again, he told me that he was trading with Bitcoin, then he told me that he had lost more than 1000 Bitcoins, he lost the private keys he had collected at that time from the university, he had it on a pendrive and he lost it, the truth It's amazing how that fortune was lost. The moral I took at that time so far is that everything, absolutely every opportunity should be seized no matter how simple it is.

I've known Bitcoin since 2008 through a friend. Her husband is into mining at that time but I am one of those people who ignored its existence and importance so I focused on work and real-life solutions on financial problems. Then another friend of mine got herself into crypto around 2014, but then we're still clueless about its potential, the exchange was around $800 at that time. I can say that I 50% ignored all about it since I don't have $800 for one BTC. After a few months passed, BOOM! BTC went sky high to something I can't really afford so I only bought what my extra money could take. Then it went to its ATH after that last 2017 which I know a lot of people here know about it.

If you invested in BTC since the beginning or probably not later than 2015, you are still in profit even if we considered how much the rate BTC holds now. It was really a missed opportunity for HODLers like me at that time.

It makes you feel uncomfortable because you didn't do stop loss. You have poor risks management because even the price got breakdown you still not sell your posistion. I know that many traders are struggling and worrying because of the price of bitcoin, they gut stuck in their posistions and now they have loss in their portfolio. Holding in the year 2017 is a good decision but holding in this current year is not a good decision because the market is bear.

Some of the first encounter with bitcoin consists of positive and negative sides. I would like to share first the negative.

As the bitcoin becomes an emerging technology, of course people are too excited on its capability in the market. As well as some people who are inclined with illegal activities, I've heard an information from a  fried about a site that utilizes bitcoin for sure, offered by services and products. With that, follows my impression about bitcoin as something good people would not want to use.

Followed by some torrents sites I've viewed that has their bitcoin logo accompanied by the address that seeks for some donations in BTC. From time to time, we could see how bitcoin is finding its true value, and as of the moment, bitcoin already becomes a widely shared currencies with positive impressions from people around the world.

My first experience with cryptocurrency happened a few years ago. At the time, I bought with all the money LTC at the very top of the green candle. It was a discouraging experience. Why, I just had 300 bucks, and now I have two hundred. I started looking for my mistakes and eventually got my money back. In General, the FOMO syndrome, is one of the first that newcomers face coming to the crypto-currency market.

I have started by checking some specific fauceters from some ads i received.

Then found out inside those fauceters Primedice Casino and joined it.
Started gambling, learned alot of new stuff about Bitcoin such as how to withdraw, addresses, wallets, what were exchangers and how could i get btc to fiat and vice versa.

Had some difficulties in gambling and trading on start but then got hust to and was very good experience to achieve at what i am now.

Also started reading more news about cryptocurrencies so that i could be aware of what could motivate both prices rise and drops.

My first experience with btc was where I started my career as a marketing manager in one of the ICOs of 2017. They paid me bonuses in crypto. I decided not to exchange my btc in fiat and invest in some tokens: tether, ether and xrp. And 80% of my bonuses still were in btc. That's how I've started my crypto portfolio.

Bitcoin's price is very high comparing to 2013 right now . but it's still not so late for those who still want to jump into it. because bitcoin price will go way more higher then now. some experts even predicted that bitcoin will reach to $200,000 in future. so try to accumulate as much as possible before it's too late.

i discover bitcoin thru social media because many people are sharing about it
i study how it works and learn that you can earn it by doing simple task with or without investment
if you compare it today its really easy to earn some bitcoin in the past
but im not getting discourage about it because there is a possibility

I can tell you about the first bitcoin investment. I bought a very small amount of bitcoin. Now let me explain the problem I'm facing. I've been conned. It's a fiasco. I became a member of the Ponzi system. But I really thought they were mining. Then it's a complete failure. My money's gone.
