Title: Bitcoin in High School Syllabus
Post by: Debonaire217 on November 03, 2019, 12:48:57 AM
According to the cryptocrunch: https://cryptocrunchapp.com/news/bitcoin-officially-included-in-french-high-school-syllabus/

Bitcoin cryptocurrency education will be implemented to French High School Syllabus. It is a new way to introduce money to students.

They are focusing on four Video questions:
1. Can bitcoin be a replacement to Euro?
2. Is bitcoin the currency of the future?
3. Is bitcoin is a currency like others?
4. Do you have to trust your currency?

Regarding this, it would be a good start to educate students about money and trust.

What's your opinion about this? Should cryptocurrency as a whole and blockchain be in schools curriculum?

I applaud this initiative of introducing cryptocurrency in the French High School Syllabus and I am hoping that more students can be enticed to make further study not just cryptocurrency actually but more importantly the blockchain technology in linkage with the Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Thing (IoT) movement and development. In connection with the four video questions, I am hoping that the presentation is really positive for Bitcoin and not done in a way that will put some doubts on the listeners.

Anyway, I am also looking forward for other countries to be following this lead of France. Europe can be a big market for cryptocurrency if the many obstacles and problems can be slowly cleared soon. Now, am wondering does this development mean that France has slowly getting enamored with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency?

This I think is the best and the most effective way to introduce blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies! If ever this will be replicated in worldwide academe, integrating it into their curriculum to replace outdated subjects, I think this students  will become more productive and could leapfrog mass adoption on cryptocurrencies and  should create  strong interest and enthusiasm among younger generations.

Bitcoin in high school syllabus is really a big thing, and this helps good with the establishment of bitcoin among the students. Change in the world happens through education, and now through this we'll find a bigger and better future with bitcoin. Already universities in few countries have come up with syllabus that is perfectly for blockchain and special courses on the same.

I don't see any problems here. Making Bitcoin or crypto as a school syllabus is not a bad idea, it makes sense because Bitcoin or crypto is a new popular way to gain money through digital assets. Is it worth for a high school? As long as the material is learnable by the students and the goal is clear enough, then it is okay I think.

I do believe that blockchain should be implemented and taught in schools. It's part of technology and globalization, and can also be discussed in economics but I don't think high school students will understand or even find it interesting since they're still quite young. What's better is, rather than high school why not college? Because they're more open, matured to understand, and sooner they'll be entering the field which they can also apply in the future.
This kind of topic should be applied in a general or minor subject for all courses rather than major but only chosen courses. It's also a way to let the youth learn about this development. 'Cause sooner it will also be adopted in the future which they also have to learn.

If this is a verified news, then these might have great impact in the future years to bitcoin. Early awareness to cryptocurrency would make young learners aware of the network and its core framework. However, it will still depend on how the authors of books would describe Bitcoin to students, whether it's biased to one side or neutral (which is better).

This proves that Bitcoin has the potential to be the next currency, or even a great alternative only to fiat. Bitcoin continues to get recognition and a sign that it's growth isn't likely to be suppressed by other government's effort against it.

I'm actually not so sure about how good this is, I don't think that high school students should be really taught about crypto-currencies when they are just 16/17.

Could possibly be a good course inside economics though? I could see economic teachers spending 2 weeks or so of lesssons explaining blockchain technology to students.

Who is meant to teach them though? I doubt a lot of the old economic or whatever teachers are really skilled and understand Bitcoin and the technology behind it, it seems like a rushed move from France to be honest.

It's a new way to attack developers, In our are there is a Bank who offers blockchain seminars yearly but limited slots only, those IT or computer engineers really pay, register and participate. Now that it's included in syllabus many will be enlighten about it.

What's your opinion about this? Should cryptocurrency as a whole and blockchain be in schools curriculum?
It should. It's currently happening and I'm glad to see some private companies partnering with private schools to teach blockchain. If I am not mistaken, this is the first government that added it to their school curriculum.

France is also seeing an increase in crypto adoption with more stores announcing that they will be accepting bitcoin as payment.

France is seeing a surge in cryptocurrency adoption with the French crypto startup Keplerk relaunching its service at the beginning of October to accept BTC payments in over 5,200 tobacco shops in France.

In late September, over 25,000 points-of-sale of 30 French retailers including sportswear giant Decathlon and cosmetics store Sephora announced that they will start accepting Bitcoin payments by early 2020.

As long as the material is learnable by the students and the goal is clear enough, then it is okay I think.
According to the article (https://beincrypto.com/bitcoin-officially-included-in-french-high-school-syllabus-to-explain-money-and-trust/), teachers will be using some videos to make it easier for students to understand. They won't be studying the technical side of bitcoin but it's role in the economy as a currency.

I think it would be better if they will start on basics first.
Like on the blockchain, because Bitcoin uses the technology called blockchain. Because I believe that learning the core of everything before jumping into some complex topics or subject is difficult.
Basic topic like, what is Bitcoin? How Bitcoin works? Or even some basic technical about Bitcoin like how the fees works and how the blocks works or transaction works, etc.

Wow! This is great news, the only way our community and world gets more advanced as time goes on is via our younger generation, if they don't understand code and blockchain technology and all of these new tech things, we'll never move forward.

France has been growing a lot when it comes to crypto adoption, I believe in a recent couple of months a lot of online, and brick and mortar stores have started accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a payment method.

French High School have adopt for bitcoin become they syllabus and teach for every student to know what is cryptocurrency, I think best subject to make bitcoin and altcoin become syllabus in senior high school. They will know whit how many kind currency in the world and which one digital currency can give profit at the future, by adopting blockhain become syllabus in the school give motivate for other country want to legal using bitcoin.

They should not only focus on videos, it will be better if there will be a blockchain enthusiast who can influence them by briefly explaining the ideology, uses and how it will affect the society. It is a good start but soon hopefully a teacher must be able to experience how to use it and adopt it to be able to imply in their life's and let those young minds inspire to develop or trade this currencies for them to have extra income or way of living.

Indeed, because it will be difficult for them to understand it if they don't know the basics but its great to see because in a very young age their mind will be open for new things and they will learn a lot of new things that can help them in the future. In that way they can easily analyze how a digital currency works, actually here in my country there is a single subject which is economics where we discuss the meaning of bitcoin and how it works. Its a great way to help them understand that our world isn't only revolving about fiat and because of technology, finally there is a digital currency.

huge adoption news are coming out these days. first with Starbucks and now with France. i think it is safe to expect a huge price rise in the following couple of months similar to mid 2017 when the similar big adoption related news came out about Japan, etc.

i am wondering who is going to teach these in schools though? do they have trained teachers in bitcoin field familiar with cryptography and blockchain that could teach them or do they plan on starting to train them?

I think its time also to incorporate it in education. High school is a fresh start to teach teenagers about financial literacy most specifically bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Millenials are very expose to social media and other digital platforms now. Definitely some have already heard about bitcoin and how they can earn from it. Hopefully they can use it for legal activities at there early age. Somehow its quite scary to teach them early but definitely social media can influence them as well.

Depending on the point of view of the students, it will be good for them to know so early in the phase of their life. Bitcoin acceptance should increase as time goes on because the old school banking system is ruled by old man's which always contradicts the bitcoin community, the next generation should learn how the monetary system works and how bitcoin effect it.

You are right here the elementary aspects and the basic should  first be their priority in teaching the students however I am very sure one of those topics will covers the subject on blockchain else it will be very difficult for them to grasp the whole syllabus above all this is a laudable gesture by the French authorities to introduce the teaching of bitcoin in their high school this will in a long run set the students on the right path towards the idea of adopting bitcoin as a digital currency in the future.

I understand they will have to train the teachers first on blockchain technology courses and I think the syllabus they will be using will be patterned or similar to the blockchain technology and cryptography courses offered by online education entities such as Coursera or MIT OpenCourseWare or maybe they might get to partner with leading universities that also offer with similar online courses.

Finally, bitcoin education will be introduced in high school. I'm impressed with that. Yes, by giving and teaching information about bitcoin, it helps the adoption process in the younger people so they can prepare their future. Those four video questions will be a great time to have a discussion with the student as I am sure that the student will have a big curiosity about the new technology.

But perhaps, we need to see how good the results after that so there will be more bitcoin education in high school in many countries. Once this education success, the other high school will do the same for their student, and that will make more people or young generation will know about bitcoin, and in the end, they will use bitcoin too.

I think this is a good idea in many ways I already see and experienced seminars about bitcoins and they are really informative. Cryptocurrency could be a subject in a way if you could have a piece of prior knowledge about cryptocurrency you could start something in a scratch and using it you could be more successful in the future also educating student is a good thing because cryptocurrency could be our future when it comes to money. We could only teach this thing to some students who have related courses if the course of the student don't relate to cryptocurrency no need to teach them is kind of stuff.

They won't start implementing this to their syllabus if they don't even know to themselves what bitcoin is, it's ridiculous if they do that kind of thing.

Probably they have. Because they won't apply it if they are not still ready for it. The possible teachers here are the technology related teachers. It might be not too many to teach every high school students in France but they can also learn. Teachers studies their topic before entering the classroom, so they can also study it first. Here in my country, i really want them to teach blockchain in schools. To give the students an awareness. And I envy that your country already had a plan of doing it.

Wow, so many chiming in with reference to block chain / crypto instead of Bitcoin.
Seems like block chain is just a buzz word and distraction. There is no block chain without Bitcoin. We are redefining value and possibly money.  Bitcoin's block chain is so important because it is open, border-less, censorship resistant, neutral to state and politics, and public to everyone. https://coinbet.com/news/what-are-the-5-pillars-of-open-blockchain-292 (https://coinbet.com/news/what-are-the-5-pillars-of-open-blockchain-292)

I believe that the school curriculum should contain elements of teaching the basic principles of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. For those students who are interested, it is necessary to conduct lessons on programming blockchains, cryptocurrencies and their interaction with the rest of the Internet. These lessons will give students a real benefit and can become the basis of their future profession.

its too early for me that Highschool student needs to learn about cryptocurrency and Blockchain ,because this market has a lot of thing to offer that only mature people must learn and letting these kids has this opportunity is a really serious matter, why not let the College have this since they are more mature and ready to face the world in all aspects?if the Kids learn about investments and the opportunity to earn here they might not have interest in studies but instead they will seek for something that will [provide them earnings ,because we knew how teenager think and they want to be liberated in younger years and this will let them have what they wanted

This will be the best news ever bitcoin has achieved in case if this turns into reality as a whole generation will be aware of bitcoin and crypto which is still something unrealistic for most of the people who have no idea about crypto. This will empower the future generations to prosper in crypto and understand how fiat is controlled and this lead to a digital revolution in the future. But they should be taught about it as a tours of study and merits and demerits of crypto rather than teaching them about crypto as a investment scheme.

How interesting is that. Honestly, what I think with the current curriculum we have in general teaches us only how to be a good laborer but subjects regarding financial management is lacking. We should teach the youth how to manage their finances well especially those who are struggling financially like the poor families.

in my opinion this is one of the good ways done by the French state to advance digital technology in their country by applying bitcoin and other crypto currencies to the syllabus in schools, France became one of the first countries to apply bitcoin to the syllabus in schools today , with the existence of such a school program it might be beneficial for students to become more independent and not burden their parents anymore to pay school fees.

Well it's a great step in the right direction and much more important if we see the comprehension blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies as difficult. Bringing the exposure of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to the basic level would improve the understanding of people about it and its use. However, i hope they really put strict measures so that these adolescents don't get scammed, you know adolescents are very inquisitive and boisterous.

This is good, they must have seen that cryptocurrency will play a huge role in the future so it will be worth it to teach these students about cryptocurrency. It is a broad topic so starting learning about crypto will be beneficial to them. Starting to teach kids about the latest technology is good, so they can be aware of it at a young age. That's great news and it shows that adoption is inevitable. more and more institutions are added to win the race for knowledge about Blockchain and Cryptos in general to be able to form better talents that ultimately push the economy of each nation. Countries like South Korea are well advanced on this. besides the pro-blockchain government alliances that we see for example in the Asian country with FLETA and the Seoul Metropolitan government in hospitals and clinics of the nation for decentralized medical records under the blockchain of FLETA, to mention one of the hundreds of use cases.

I think to be added in school's curriculum is a big improvement for Cryptocurrency. This will enlighten the young ones what cryptocurrencies is all about, this is a beginning of massive adoption. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has a possibility of being used in the future thus being taught in school help children to use this type of technology. With regards if bitcoin will replace Euro I think not, Bitcoin could only become an another form of payment but it will not entirely replace the traditional form of currency which is fiat.

So I support this initiatives and hoping all countries will adopt this as well for the welfare of our children’s today and in future

This is a good adoption of bitcoin as it helps young people today to become more aware that the internet has money like crypto curency. This can be of great help because surely as they grow older they can bring knowledge to crypto and share it with their children and friends.

But I think that a stronger explanation and study needs to be taught to young people because they can't learn it right away if they are not sure if it will help their lives.

That would be awesome because learning things half way will affect some students.
I will also suggest that should be a live practical and not just video because they will be able to replay some demonstration and some interesting things they did.

Blockchain technology would take us to new age and Bitcoin would always be remembered when we talk about blockchain.

this is a good part of starting from understanding bitcoin first and then entering the blockchain syllabus at a higher level of education. The important thing is to give a sense of responsibility to use it first and a variety of understandings of the BTC's position on fiat.

if it is allowed to become a bubble and many young people learn a lot from the btc controversy articles on the internet it will only affect them for bad things, especially when reading excessive reactions from the government.

Wow, I think it's a great initiative! Since economics is about money in various forms, it would not be fair not to include the newest innovation in this area as well. It's important for these lessons to be neutral, though, not highly in favor of EUR or BTC. It should be about facts, possible advantages and disadvantages of both systems. I also think it's a nice try to make kids interested in their lessons. I work part-time as a school teacher, and it seems that the topic that teenagers are most excited about is new electronic devices, the role of technology in our lives and stuff like that. So talking to them about the new electronic kind of money can be a way of making them interested in Economics in general, especially since Bitcoin pushes the boundaries of what is considered money or not and stuff like that.

In India bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies have been in the syllabus of the IT sector since years , you can actually write in your curriculum that you are a crypto expert , now one should understand that what kind of an impact will it make on the fact that students of the highschool are studying it , one might one day try and invent something even greater that Bitcoins , the future is bright .

One might say *we did leave an impact*

Personally, I think is a good idea to add cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to schools curriculum.  This will help bring creative ideas as to how to make cryptocurrency and blockchain technology more acceptable and easy to use. Also, people will learn to appreciate the benefits and the privileges cryptocurrency and blockchain technology present to the entire world. High school students are the future of every country in terms of human resources. This integration will easily help in mass adoption of cryptocurrency and the use of blockchain technology in every aspect of our entire lives....

The inclusion of fundamental lessons about Bitcoin in the school syllabus is a strategic move. This can provide a lot of knowledge for students to introduce bitcoin as early as possible. However, despite being controversial, bitcoin is an innovation that must be learned. This is a manifestation of the development of civilization, where everything is always developing and changing, adjusting the increasing needs of life.

Because those questions are difficult to answer nowadays because they are all based on speculation and based on what is seen.

Adoption for bitcoin become syllabus in the school for tech student know with bitcoin or altcoin investment, before investing in bitcoin they have know procedure with bitcoin investment, nice for trying junior high school until to higher education for adopting bitcoin as subject in the school. many student maybe have interested with investment kind and bitcoin best solution to give chance get profit later.

Then try to incorporate the curriculum of blockchain technology for students that are taking It, or any computer science related courses. In this case, the educational system could enforce the essentials of teaching new technologies, as well as reminding the students to become financially knowledgeable and futuristic.

Yes, of course. People, as early as high school should learn about the development of currency. And that would of course touch cryptocurrency and how it differs from the traditional currencies. There are so many things to talk about cryptocurrency. Of course blockchain is a major topic. It is very broad that it could be further broken down into smaller topics. Everything should be objective though. There should be no kind of subjective brainwashing.

I do agree, giving an actual example like letting the students try and use the technology itself for further understanding.
For me, it is easy to teach and to let them understand if someone is showing them how exactly does it work and proper using of it.
Giving examples is better, but helping them to try and do it by themselves is way better.

I think it's a good idea to introduce cryptocurrency to new generations through school, but more importantly — I'm glad to see that students are actually being taught about money. Most educational systems tend to avoid the topic and teach useless stuff that you can google in 2 minutes at any time, but not about the most important aspects of life, like business, money, taxes, etc. Teaching about crypto is a good step on many levels, I think.

Implementing the bitcoin into the high school syllabus would be great for the high school students because at the very young age they are getting see and start to educate about the digital currency as well as the cryptocurrency on how it is going on. This would be really good because at the very young age they will be educated about knowing what is the use of cryptocurrency like bitcoin and other coins they will also educate about proper holding of their money or investing money in the crypto. Teaching Bitcoin at a high school level will only introduce complexity and not help students in the long term. Bitcoin principles are much harder to explain than that of fiat currencies. Fiat currencies can be explained fairly easily but as soon as you introduce excess numbers such as 0.000036 btc then it becomes increasingly difficult when considering this is at a high school level. Bitcoin fundamentals would be better introduced at a university level in my opinion.

With the implementation of cryptocurrency education to the high school curriculum, it should also be implemented to the lower grade school education as kids need to understand cryptocurrency as well. We, teaching them about becoming responsible for money should also include the updated form of currency in which they will utilize in the near future. But before this, we, the early adopters of cryptocurrency should be filled with wisdom regarding crypto. This will be the knowledge that we need for us to be capable of teaching our kids how to utilize crypto.

I look forward to seeing more of such.  Recently,  I stumbled upon the first university in the world to issue blockchain technology related degrees in Cyprus. Let the academic interest in blockchain technology continue to grow.

Yeah, this is not a spoof as far as I know students learn crypto technologies and even make some researches not only in France. For sure that is often an optional course  but it does not matter. To my mind french high education has always been excellent especially in mathematics, physics as we know a lot of great french mathematicians, physics so unquestionably usually the french high education understands the further evolving of the science that is why the French have focused on the crypto technologies.

Why not? I believe that Blockchain and Bitcoin should be studied by students so that they have an understanding of how it works and how can it be used in the future.

I think that this is a good and revolutionary step, not just to teach them about crypto but today if you ask anyone about the origin of the money and why it has value they won't even know what to say, and if think that is one of the main reasons why they don't care or show any interest in cryptocurency other than it is profitable, and if you we teach the kids all about it and how bitcoin and the blockchain technology aims to change the way we look at it, and with that we help promote it and push its adaptation in the future.

That's a really innovative and interesting initiative taken by France but I think more stress should be first given on blockchain and making them understand what is the mechanism of blockchain and how does it works rather than clearly saying them to weigh both fiat and cryptocurrencies on their own scale. I think bitcoin's mechanism is what makes it beautiful and if just feed kids with merits of bitcoin we can never over come the demerits that come with bitcoin. However it is a  good initiative and I hope it's implemented nationwide in a more refined way. By the way if any student needs tutoring on this subject can contact me.  :P :P :P

I think it will be a great idea that bitcoin cryptocurrency education will be implemented to French High School Syllabus because there is a huge chance that more people would buy bitcoin and it can be more recognized by governments in other countries. I also think that it will be an advantage for French High School students to study about bitcoin because they will not have any difficulties when in terms of understanding about bitcoin and blockchain technology that their knowledge about it will be broad, and it will be easy for them to buy and trade cryptocurrencies.

Depending on the point of view of the students, it will be good for them to know so early in the phase of their life.
I believe highschool is too early for them. Instead of studying on such thing, they should more focus on vital subjects particularly math and science because they are the most difficult ones. If studying crypto will be added in the curriculum then it would be much appropriate in college. Hmm, maybe this can be added on Basic Economics and absolutely on those who are taking Commerce related courses.

Yes, I agree with what you said, that it's too early for them to study that kind of thing and focus on primary subjects that inevitably will help them, especially in the future. But it depends on the country/ curriculum of the schools because they want to teach their students the economic factors that can be done using cryptocurrency, and also, this is their new way to teach and view the emerging currency. :)

Don't you mean blockchain technology? Yes eventually it will be taught at school and they will be learning about us. We are the pioneer I wonder how long in the future schools will start teaching this stuff.
Remember it still needs to be adopted so those kids learning these lessons the future wish they could be us right now since we all got in early. It is still not too late.
developed countries are competing to claim everything as the first .

i mean for example there in france where they maybe become the first country who applying that policy to educate the young generation about what the future could be with blockchain technology , for the sake knowledge they take that risk.
where any other non-developed countries rejecting bitcoin entirely ... this is very obvious that developed country become more advanced and the non-developed countries become more left behind.

this is the matter of mindset , france is the one who one step ahead of us, this risk will be worth in the future!
France not adopt bitcoin as legal currency but they have try for giving access for their student to learn with bitcoin by make crypto as syllabus subject in the school, they have good innovation for the future before accepting bitcoin as legal currency with know first for their people. Many school not focus with real subject needed by student and give bullshit subject have to learn by student but bitcoin is the best way for adopting in the school.
yessss they are preparing for that mass adoption to come.

it is something that never crossed in our mind to have a formal education applied in the high school, this is just brilliant idea! they knew that the future is in this blockchain based technology and they take it seriously by doing this.
i can see how serious they are developing the blockchain industry if you take a look to the early years when there is a lot of crypto project popping up and involved french customer , the french government make a quick move by setting some regulations instead make it simple to ban bitcoin just like any other country in a non-developed countries in asia.

they are so open-minded , not really conservative welcoming a new thing like bitcoin.

I think yes, well for starters they could include on some courses with computer and also the marketing industry such as computer science courses or business courses. Or they could introduce it to high school students and full package on college. This way the new generation leaders and marketers of the future are somewhat ready to face if ever crypto will go mainstream.

I entered the Bitcoin market since 2014, when very few people knew about BTC. At that time, BTC was only considered a gambling tool. Until now, BTC has brought fever with its value, volatility and technology. I guess there should be many BTC technology education classes, the developing world, we need blockchain technology when developing payment.

it's a good idea to include the syllabus about bitcoin and blockchain to students. students will understand about bitcoin and blockchain properly. and in my opinion we should not only give a syllabus but also have to give a direct example. so that when they have graduated from school they can immediately look for income using bitcoin. and with the increasing number of people who understand about bitcoin and blockchain will encourage bitcoin to be adopted en masse.

Adding bitcoin in the high school syllabus under the economics unit is good, specially if they'll be focusing on discussing the whole blockchain system which will be really useful in the future. Not only discussing and teaching students about bitcoin but the whole crypto scene.

I really appreciate the quick steps taken by the Syllabus principal.. teaching Bitcoin in high school is very important because Bitcoin is now one of the ways to make money.  IMO, for Blockchain and Bitcoin included in the school curriculum, I think it is not very useful because Blockchain technology is still very new, in-depth research has not been done, and the level of knowledge about Blockchain and Bitcoin has not been distributed worldwide.  the teachers will most likely only look for references to teaching Blockchain and Bitcoin via youtube videos!!  I am afraid that a false understanding of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology will emerge in the future.

We can separate the topics and subjects with regards to the crypto and blockchain. For the conceptual discussions about cryptocurrency, it is suited best for economics while the development of blockchain technology should be part of the curriculum of the tertiary education. In this case, both courses will have their best fitted support to further understand bitcoin, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

The whole Blockchain thing is really taking a new turn every day, and more countries are beginning to look into it as we see how china has made a statement in favor of it and even urging their citizens to explore the opportunities that are available in its usage, so if china can encourage the billions of people that it has, other smaller and giant countries too will definitely start looking into it.

The right thing to do right now is that schools starts to educate people about it from the early stage so that they will understand how to use it in future when it has become fully developed. This initiative is a very good one, and it is good that a francophone country is already taking the initiative also to introduce it which I am sure will send a it which I am sure will send a very string word to others too.

In any case, the curriculum in high school must meet the requirements of the modern world.  Today, cryptocurrency is a technology that will be used in the future and every person should at least have at least starting knowledge about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.  But the solution to this problem will depend only on the education system, which in many countries requires reform.  It is necessary to offer not only the basis for each student and a certain direction of study to choose from.  But information about cryptocurrencies should be part of the foundation of education.

It is really awesome if that happens because come to think of it if all children can know bitcoin more, they can be more intelligent in terms of money, like on how to earn it easily, if the government will allow that to any commission of education, there is a big possibility that the era will become innovated in which there are lots of kids can earn and they can understand many terms regarding bitcoin. They can cope up with the modernity of our world, as we are being more like using technology because we are in the information age. I look in the future that we are using only one currency and that is bitcoin. But it has a lots of downside because cryptocurrency is not that known in all countries and some countries are regulating it.

I have seen the news on TV in 2014 where some students in London routinely gamble on sites that use bitcoin, I did not focus on what they were doing, but it was very influential for the effect in general. High schools must be taught this syllabus so well that students do not only understand a small portion of the business, because bitcoin can be adopted with many more important things when viewed from its broad benefits.

I don't think it's time for that yet. Though it will be a big help if people will learn about crypto at an early age, since we're all going to deal with it and the likes of it anyway. Though I think it's too early for High School students to be exposed to such topics as even grown ups who can have direct interaction with crypto hasn't yet fully grasped what it is and what it's for.

I think it is indeed helpful that the government will enlighten the people about cryptocurrencies. That it is not only fiat the only existing currencies, but also there are also other ways on getting more money and this should also include how you can get these cryptos and how you can help yourself earn from them. But of course, this is not just all about money. The technology behind cryptocurrency is what we are also trying to develop.

Bitcoin knowledge probably will be under ICT course since bitcoin is part of the technology in the computer. I think it's very complex to have a seperate course that only tackles bitcoin.

High school subjects are very general unlike in college where you have specific subjects only on the course you prefer. It's also impossible for them to complete the whole outline and there are various things should be understand before learning bitcoin.

I look, cryptocurrency-based courses are becoming more and more frequent in Europe. I wonder if this is really possible in a country where the economic situation is still not so strong as to talk about alternatives to fiat.
It all depends on the approach of the country's leadership. What are you talking about now? Look at Latin America or small countries in Europe, such as Slovakia. They are much more active in the crypto sector than large European leaders, who will act cautiously and limit the mass use of crypto for some time.
In Ukraine, the government approved a digitalization plan and are considering the possibility of some kind of educational courses. But there are so many difficulties without crypto that I don’t understand whether digital technologies are really capable of giving quick progress?
If we talk about a country like Kazakhstan, where the rates of economic growth are not so high, after the adoption of a plan for the development of the digital industry, situation is much better. Especially for miners. Training courses appeared, for example, the online taklimakan platform, where you can study cryptocurrencies. Information is available for different countries and languages. Therefore, if the government approved a plan for educational institutions for the study of cryptocurrencies, I think this is an important step.

Places like Kazakhstan has far more important problems than their economy especially if you are an investor. These small countries can just seize your investments and steal your money and kick you away just because they can. People don't make investments there (and countries like that) for a reason. They suck.

I don't personally think that this is necessary.

Learning about the broader economy and fundamentals of currency are going to be much more helpful. Once they understand these concepts, they can decide for themselves whether or not BTC is necessary, and I do think that people armed with that knowledge will more likely adopt BTC.

But it's certainly a step in the right direction. I'm not complaining.

Yeah I understand what you are saying, and rather to pick bitcoin as the main focus for learning, I think that it would have been best if they had broaden it to the general blockchain technology so that they will be able to train blockchain developers, and it is after they are well trained they can understand the whole idea behind cryptocurrency which we can then extend to bitcoin.

The only positive thing that I see in this is that they are beginning to create awareness to cryptocurrency from schools and it would be a very good thing that the new generation are the ones that will fully correct the rots that the governments, I mean the present government has created already in our financial system that is putting lots of people into unnecessary bondage.

If the students in high school are exposed too much in bitcoin, they will have access to it and use it to something we didn't know. That's the reason why some syllabus aren't being taught on secondary education. Each students have different perspective on things. Eh I'm in the minority here. Crypotography isn't really a high school level topic that warrants being in the curriculum. I know certain high schools allow various courses that students can choose from that are not necessarily a core course required for advancement, but cryptography and Bitcoin seems like it should be reserved for the collegiate level. You probably could fit Bitcoin discussion in with an economics course which is taught in most high schools. I'd be most relevant there but high schoolers aren't going to care enough to actually engage the idea of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin as a subject to be thought in high school may have too many technical terms that could too much for this level, as much as it is a good idea to introduce it at a younger level,  still will be a bit too much to assimilate for this young ones,
Maybe teaching the basics will be much better than going in a broader direction, all the same, It is a good choice, the earlier the better.

Students will come to know actually how much bitcoin is important in upcoming years. The same should be implemented in all the schools worldwide. Videos help students to understand more about the Bitcoin.

Students also for sure they will be more interested to know about the Blockchain technology.

But if we go in depth of this subject then to implement in High school if it is implemented in PUC or degree it will be great idea.

I'd opt for it more on college instead of HS. As far as my hs days was concerned, it was time for me to know others build relationships and well, identify what I actually want to be in the future. It's more concentrated on building relationships and the like. College on the other hand, is mostly me trying to learn new stuff and educating myself about different things. Tbh, I wish I honestly learned in college what are the stuff needed when going to adulthoood. Like how to get various documents, proper procedures on each one etc, etc.

As for the questions though, Isn't it too early to teach them about such things? I'm actually more to them learning what crypto is, the system behind it, history, etc etc. Basically, facts. These questions are currenty more on the subjective side imo.

I guess bitcoin in high school syllabus is not very essential 'cause there are many handy technology tools that we should focus more on. Basic software is those we should learn in high school, bitcoin is a different level and the technology is very complex.

And bitcoin is not necessary to be learned as not all of the people will be gonna use of it. The education system don't find it as a practical knowledge that will help those kids on their life.

Instead of bitcoin, it's better to learn blockchain first and it should be in the course outline in college especially when your course is somehow related to technology.

This is a big no for me. It is not that I am against bitcoin and the blockchain technology in the curriculum, but we should consider the course, and the student himself. Another thing is that there are a lot of sources where students can learn about bitcoin, from videos to books and articles, they could learn a lot of it. Also, here in our province, finding a teacher would be hard to teach that subject, it is also not suitable in our environment and with the lack of materials, it would be hard to teach it. Though currencies and also taxations are taught in our school so in terms of bitcoin might replace fiats, I guess our students can answer that.

Agree, I've known that teaching about bitcoin is very difficult, the process and the one who will teach it. Even in seminars, it's hard to find someone that will serve as a speaker and will teach those complex knowledge. There are many necessary things or technology than bitcoin that can be used in our daily life basis. Bitcoin knowledge is on a different level and requires a lot of understanding especially when you go to the topic of programming to understand the core.

If we're talking about blockchain and such, those are complex and that's not appropriate to be on the curriculum of high school. But in college and the course is somehow related to technology; Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology and Computer Engineering, it's a good idea.

My classmates have already implemented blockchain on their thesis/project study and the only foundation they used on creating it are just basic programming and YT tutorials. It's a reliable knowledge if it's been taught before the start of a project study course subject.

If the sole curriculum will be based on bitcoin itself, as a currency, I agree with you. but if we are to dig deeper to tackle things such as blockchain, peer to peer connection, hashes and building more out of cryptocurrency, then there is a need to include it in the curriculum, but still depends on the course that should be taken by a student.

It is advisable to align it with Information Technology, or other Computer Science related courses.

Very Good News!!! This is another step ahead for Bitcoin revolution in the world. The first time a school has included "Bitcoin" in its Syllabus because the authority has realized the necessity of study of it. This step will encourage many other schools to introduce it in their Syllabus also. Already different universities have introduced it as a subject. I hope, gradually all the students of schools, colleges and universities will study various cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Etheream etc. Thus all the people will realize the importance of cryptocurrency as medium of digital transaction in near future when cryptocurrency will capture the World's market and all the countries will receive it legally.

French High School authority has taken this epoch making event and i have read also few schools taken this steps. I congratulate them for taking this brave decision. Students can learn about blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
I believe Bitcoin is the future money but it can't be replaced with any local currency like USD, EURO, RUPY, TAKA etc. Bitcoin will be used and local currencies will be available for supplementary.

This is a milestone for the crypto world, knowing that little by little the people are giving the acknowledgement it deserves. This will raise awareness of how useful the Bitcoin can potentially give. Including Bitcoin education in the syllabus will also help the community to grow. This only means that the future of bitcoin is bright. When more and more people become well educated about the cryptocurrency, the development and its growth will surely be tangible.

I think this will a great idea to give some more knowledge to the people of world about bitcoin use, its features.in high school syllabus it should teaches. There are so many world traders who has become millionaire with this bitcoin and if you do not teach our children then it will be unfair so I really say we should give more knowledge about bitcoin to others.
So let sit and enjoy the game of bitcoin.

Most students in high school are teens and under 18 yrs old, I think that they will become familiarize with the bitcoin if they implement bitcoin in high school syllabus, but the thing here is that their mind is not that mature enough when it comes to that. They will probably have a hard time understanding it and make a decision as they are too young for that.

Maybe fundamentals are good enough to help them understand and analyze how bitcoin works in the economy and how money talks when it comes to the society. We have different opinions and I think that I'm just practical and realistic as students are more on online games and social media, not in investment in crypto.

Maybe they should learn about bitcoin when they are already 18, when they are independent and have work so that they invest with their own money. They should use their own money when they want to engage with using bitcoin for investment and not relying on the money of their parents.

Basic principles, basic knowledge, and basic familiarization about blockchain technology first should be their foundation in learning cryptocurrency in schools. In order for us to help youth to adapt cryptocurrency in their knowledge, we should help them first be familiarize with that. High school level is where the students are having some maturity and I believe that people in the age of 15 and above can actually comprehend the value of trust and investment. It is hard to teach students who are not that interested to the bitcoin so you need to tell students if they want to enroll a subject where bitcoin is implemented in the syllabus. But the school should persuade students to pursue studying that subject.

How about reading some articles and see if there is really a good impact on the present if the bitcoin will be put on the high school syllabus. Maybe thus can be conduct a study by the government in order to know if they really know if there will be a future for bitcoin if it will be put on the high school syllabus.
But there are some articles in which states that they are already putting the bitcoin in the high school syllabus in fact it is already part of the economics subjects.

Its so early for highschool students to have a course about cryptocurrency and blockchain. It will be better if it is just a seminar or a two day course about the blockchain technology but having one as a course is really too much. They didn't even have a chosen course to begin with. Not all highschool students will be interested with it. I agree that a blockchain course should belong to a course in college that is connected to it because I believe that they can incorporate it to the industry they wanted to pursue.

And to the fact that there are a lot of process for a course to be put in a syllabus, there will be a lot of problem before it will be recognize by the governments around the world. I think there are a lot of other courses for a highschool student that is much needed as a course. Like what I've said earlier, it is much better if it is just a seminar or a two day course in highschool.

Yes that is really happening, bitcoin/cryptocurrency is one of the major markets right now and it's really giving traders and investors a new option. And as time passes by many people are knowing bitcoin so it's a good move to make it part of the education so student's are going to learn about this new market and the can it explore it by themselves. In IT field there's now a blockchain certification so I really think that adding it on high-school subject is really a good move.

Fantabulous! It's a cool thing to have high school students get involved in this. They'll be more zealous and will understand what the government and banks have been doing before they make wealth so they can know the best way to store and manage their money.

That is an interesting move for education sector in regards to cryptocurrency literacy and innovation as well, in my opinion, that is still a pretty early move but none the less bold, I think that that is too advance for a subejct in a highschool curriculum, I would stake my opinion on implementing more on financial literacy because, what is the point of learning and earning bitcoin if you don't have the knowledge and discipline regarding finance then it is all for naught. I am not against education about cryptocurrency but I think that we should add a stable foundation before learning something big, bitcoin still has an untapped potential unknown to us but we are not yet late to the party so what we can do right now is prepare and be ready when we arrived.

Couldn't find any updates on this news, but probably need to search in French for this.

That same period was just post all the yellow jacket protests too, and tabacs going bitcoin. A lot of visibility in the land that loves liberty, so no surprise.

A year before that, they used Bitcoin in a national Dutch secondary school exam. Not just a mere mention of it too! They introduced Bitcoin's block generation, how many coins minted from that, and halving, and asked students to calculate new supply in a certain period.
