Title: What makes you trust bitcoin related services?
Post by: AaronJonk on November 04, 2019, 04:29:19 PM
Hi,

I have some questions where I have been thinking about the past week.
Why do you trust some website/company with your bitcoins?

Let's say a bitcoin casino, what makes you deposit bitcoin?
Is it the provably fair? Does it mean you trust a site when the game is fair?
Is it the looks of the site? The amount of users there are? If there is an open chat where you can see active users?

Or something else that doesn't have a game that's fair, for example a bitcoin exchange, how do you trust them?

Overall: What makes you trust bitcoin related services?

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

Another question: What does a new service need to earn your trust?

It varies depending on what type of service do they offer. For casinos, must have is the provability of the fairness of their games and their withdrawal/deposit system. Customer support is a factor too, and if they failed on this side of the service, usually it makes me want to go turn my back and just forget that they exist. Same for all the other services. If they failed on customer relations, they might as well fail on other aspects because they don’t listen to the customers’ concerns and would likely not want to change or improve what’s weong on their service.

One of the main reasons is that you can see the site's funds. It's all public. Most of the sites share their addresses, even if they don't, you can basically find it by just checking a few addresses on the blockchain. This is especially important when checking out, for example, an exchange site. If the exchange does not have even 1 BTC but is advertising themselves as the biggest and the best exchange, that should raise some flags. So, long short story. Transparency, whether they like it or not is probably my main reason.

Yes. The example I gave was for an exchange. The situation depends on what kind of platform you'd like to register to. If we want to go by your example, a gambling site. You'd like to see that public statistics, their hash system (provably fair), their userbase and if possible, their current bank (their main BTC address) which is going to handle the payments.

It's pretty complicated. You need to look at their track record, maybe who is behind the company, look at reviews on the internet and if they are or aren't regulated by some entity. If you're looking at casinos you might want to check if they have a license, but in the crypto space I haven't seen many casinos with one.

I generally depend on the reviews of people here. I've been scammed so many times that I don't risk trying any new things. I'd rather go to those that has been tested and proven for a long time. Provably fair is the basic thing you should expect from a gambling site. I wait for my coin or token to be listed on a good exchange which I can trust than to jump into depositing in an unknown exchange.

it starts by their history. for example if the service is an old one you can easily look at some feedback on this forum or elsewhere to see what other people's experience with that service has been like. if they scammed any of their users, if they were gotten hacked, leaked any personal information of their users,... and a lot more. with a quick search you can easily figure out how much trust you can put in a certain service.
for instance an exchange service that has been hacked before and has poor customer support deserves a very small trust from traders.

then it is a matter of how much risk you are willing to take. for example the gambling site you mentioned, you can verify their fairness and history and then decide if you want to trust their honesty and for how much.

Track record and evidence of competence are the main ones. I wouldn't bother with anything that didn't have extensive reviews and reported experiences from others. Even then there are places that really are not inspiring as to how they operate so I'd need to be satisfied that they were doing things right before considering them.

It constantly blows my mind the amount of people turning up here asking whether they should trust a service that literally no one else has ever heard of. Why would you? Then again they're most likely the owner of the service.

1, Reviews of people who have used this wallet.
2, How long has it been in the industry.
3, Who are the people behind this project.

And there are many other things that can help me to figure out right away if they are trustworthy to use their service.

its the hope to win that i guess made me deposit my btc to a gambling site. sportbetting is just one trusted gambling site which also made me deposit, since i see them sponsored a team which their logo is on the shirts of the players i guess they are not going to scam people after building such reputation. i'm not the only one who did play there so sending btc is pretty much safe.

Reputation, reputation, reputation. Why trade at "EXX" or "Bilaxy" when you could trade at Binance?

However, I don't trust any service. Even the most reputable services get hacked, or might lock your account and freeze funds under the guise of AML/KYC concerns. That doesn't mean I never use centralized services, but suffice to say: You should minimize the amount of money you put at risk and the amount of time it stays deposited, no matter what.

Nothing. I wouldn't go anywhere near it no matter what unless it involved amounts and information I didn't care about going up in smoke.

It's down to them to prove they're worthy of their customers and that could take a long time. I remember people turning up here announcing a new service out of nowhere and being consumed with rage that everyone was dripping with scepticism. Why the hell wouldn't they considering the past of crypto services?

That ain't our problem, it's theirs.

The only thing that could entice me to use a totally new service was if it was provably operated and ran by an entity/organization/individual which already had a significant history and good reputation from running another service, and which I had personally used. If ChipMixer, for example, opened a betting site (and I could be 100% sure it was ran by the same people and that they hadn't been compromised), then I'd have no qualms with giving it a spin. If you are a brand new service/organization, then I agree with most of the posts above. I'm not sending you a single satoshi until you have a solid history, reputation, and community reviews. I'm also not sending personal identifying information to any third party service, so if you require that, I'm immediately out.

Given how many new exchanges/casinos/gambling sites/mixers/web wallets/whatever we are bombarded with pretty much every day, and that the vast majority of them turn out to be complete scams, it is difficult to entice users to try out any new service. In terms of your casino example, many casinos offer a faucet so users can sign up and play for free. Once some users have verified they can withdraw from faucet winnings, they may be enticed to deposit and play with their own money. From there, reviews and reputation can slowly be built up.

First, how long the service they operated and the feedback on their previous customers.
As much as possible in choosing for example gambling site better to spend time investigating first before depositing your fund.
Why we must be careful about our Bitcoin? Because it is like fiat and the most valuable. Verify first the gambling site you've chosen and trust to deposit as well.

I think if it's crypto related, whether gambling services or exchanges, it boils down to:

  • Reputation/Trust - How long does the services exists in the crypto-sphere? do crypto enthusiast vouch for them?
  • Who are the people behind? - Just look at Binance, CZ has been what like 2 years? But he has build his empire already
  • Security - of course, you want services to priority this one, although every crypto services are prone to this, but at least they should learn how to protect members funds

Overall: What makes you trust bitcoin related services?

Well-established reputation.

No way that site, of whatever the service is, will reach that level if they do sh*t while on the process of working their way up. Meaning, they fairly meet some of the user's preferred criteria and somehow deals with any problems on the way, minor and major.

What about the new service? We have a thing called self-analysis and the ability to somehow determine if a certain site will do sh*t or not.

a) Serious promotion and marketing - meaning they are spending tons of money with this
b) Serious approach to website improvement starting from basics to advance
c) Serious approach about security - it's a must
d) Good customer representative at any platforms - ability to answer basic to technical questions in general without responding "please contact us @.."
e) Well-explained details of the service
f) Legality
g) They do everything to show everyone that their service is legit

It's really difficult to trust a new service today that's why every company must show that they are serious. Not an assurance though that it will not show some shitty activity in the future but it's better to see them like that at their early phase.

It's about their reputation and being rational. Let's go with the gambling casino example here.

Let's say your looking to gamble 1 BTC, and there is a smaller casino that only has a bankroll of 2 BTC and they don't really have a lot of users. Why would you not go with a more reputable casino, like bitsler, that has a million dollar bankroll? Just simple knowledge to be honest.

I personally use this to evaluate every service I use, this way I can feel secure when I'm throwing 0.2 BTC threw chipmixer, because they spend that much on a daily's worth of sig posts.

If you're talking about crypto casinos, the only ones I would trust are those that already have a good reputation, which means that other people have used them without any issues.  In other words, other people are the guinea pigs to establish a good reputation.  That's unfortunate, but it's reality.  If it was a brand new casino that hadn't been reviewed by players and hadn't had a good or bad word said about them yet, I wouldn't bother trying it.

The most basic rule in crypto is 'don't trust anyone' and those are the best words of advice anyone could give you.  There are no protections with bitcoin (or any cryptocurrency), and once you send your coins that's the end of it.  You can't get them back.  The only reason I trust certain exchanges is because other people have used them first.  That's probably the case with a lot of things in cryptocurrency.  Unless there's a good reason for you to trust someone or something, you really shouldn't.

Most of the services here start from 0 reputations and even unknown person, it will be different if a company or big community offer their services.
How do they get the trust from customers or clients to work with?
- prove themselves trustworthy, there are several ways, but the easiest one is escrow, put their money in front.
- as time goes on, customer reviews will build their reputation, it's not in one night though.

That's the right attitude. There's no need to be the guinea pig when new services launch. Let other more reckless people do that. I've seen too many incompetent operations and outright scams in this space to take unnecessary risks like that.

It depends on my need of it. These sites will always offer services we mights need like our daily commodities and fund transfer. In cases of casinos and gambling sites we must make sureof the after service duties we can acquire like customer related issues. Even for other services especially money transfer that needs customer assistance in cases of system downtime and failed transactions. Its always been a risk-taking activity to engage in these bitcoin related services. If we need it then we should trust it.

I trust some websites/companies because many people recommend using that site. They already get a pleasant experience with the site, and they don't have a problem with using their services. That will happen too if I want to choose bitcoin casino. As long as I can select the recommended bitcoin casino, there will be no problem for me, although that cannot 100% guarantee. Provably fair is almost every gambling site has, and we should not worry about that.

Besides recommending by other people, I also search by myself, so I can have another site to used besides that site. So when you want to use a service from a website, make sure you search the review from other people, read what they're suggestions, and, if necessary, you can try by using little money first to test the service.

If you see the casino has been working for a long time, then you can trust them, and if you didn't trust in the service you can always send small amounts to test the site.

Quote
Is it the provably fair? Does it mean you trust a site when the game is fair?
A good provably fair is basic to get the trust from users, sites who don't have a good provably fair engine could be easily rigged.

I think this is the right mindset to have when it comes to anything on the internet, money, privacy, etc.

Whenever I personally do anything on the internet, I employ a policy of "What's the worst that could happen". Trading my BTC to ETH on Binance? What if my account gets restricted?

With this mindset, I've been able to use a lot of safer options, and am personally a huge fan of DEX's.

first is having a large level of users, second is a high level of security, third is a fast transaction process, fourth is having responsive support services. Fifth is very easy to make withdrawals. sixth if the exchange is no dominant bot for trading, all are real trade users. seventh many altcoin variants for trading. that's the reason I trust to deposit a Bitcoin.

I trust them because they have permit to operate like they are fully registered in the government business related agency that if their names are not in the list then of course you should doubt it and consult the government for verification. Their reputation is also a great help too specially if the website or exchanges are famous and still at service for a very long time.

What made you trust fiat related services? Is it because of the fiat itself or the good reputation of the service provider? You know sometimes we ought to miss the point that BTC is fundamentally a currency like fiat but the difference is that it has no physical form but the function is quiet the same. You can spend it in both legal and illegal uses but the law still prevails over money (as we should hope so).

Reputation is one factor before I trust an organization or a company my funds in cryptocurrency. When a new one is established, I will not get into it immediately and give them time to prove themselves in the market and when I see their company's practices are good, I'll give it a try. Reviews online and feedbacks are not hard to find so a little reading might help. The community is a good source of real feedback and you might also join forums and group discussions regarding the company's practices.

I believe in exchanges by making a deposit to those exchanges. Because of several factors including because these exchanges
have many users, usually if exchanges have many users the most likely exchanges These are reliable. Following after comparing
with some other exchanges, it will be seen where the exchanges are which has real volume with fake volume. And the last one
got input from several people in the community crypto like in this forum for example. With these reasons, I dare to make a decision
on which website / company trustworthy. And usually I also gradually deposit it so as to better ensure its safety.

I don't, I may be using their services but I don't trust them in the slightest since they could pull an exit scam any time they want.
I may sound paranoid but it's just the way it is. Scams are around us and even trusted services are doing an exit scam. you can search
google for reference, just type "exit scam bitcoin".

The reputation of the service is everything, if I see credible evidence that the service has scammed their customers in the past then I will not use them no matter what they say, now it is important to tell the difference between angry customers that will always be there if the service is popular and legitimate concerns about the honesty of owners of the service, after their reputation is out of the way I select based on other criteria like the user interface and their customer service.

Actually, the platforms market to really help in attracting players to trust their service. Though, sometimes there are advertisements that are irritating if it appears to much in the screen. But, if the person that is putting their signature is really a reputable member of this forum, it has a very great impact on the users to try and put some assets to the platform. In this regard, we can consider that advertisements advertised by reputable member makes us trust bitcoin related services.

So, we should always consider that we have an impact to the platform and users, meaning to say that we should be responsible enough in choosing what platform or project to advertise.

It's best to base your trust with companies reputations, just needed to research much deeper and not to relied with some review based websites which can also be a paid shills for the benefits of the company. Having enough time to do your own ways of researching and make sure you are always aiming for good basis in order to avoid or lessen the chances of getting scammed. it's hard to earned trust that's for sure, so find the place who already have it and experienced things for your own opinion.

Basically, on bitcoin environment/crypto as a whole is based on reliance (that is the banchmark IMHO). Because I'll bet if there is no someone who trust bitcoin, I mean there were not willing to trust their assets/money to other people or even to the system itself then we won't ever see bitcoin is still axist until now and even will not have popularity as of now.

Although there is a service which can make you manage your bitcoin by yourself such as through hardware wallet and etc but eventually you need an exchange when you intend to change into money fiat.

Probably, you will have your own perspective against it and thinking that bitcoin is not centralized. So, like what other people says, before you spend your money you need to know first the service itself (be it gambling paltform or even an exchange) you can do an analyst or just see the review of the service, there will be much moreover if you ask to this forum then it is enough to be a source.

Earning trust should not be instant, not because you have seen the team are active and conducting AMA, promising anything, don't fall into this trap, they are just getting your attention and trust so you can invest to them. Doing a research is a must, make sure that we can do this part on our own.

I am trusting Bitcoin related service, once it is law regulated here in our country, and good thing, everything here in our country is legal as we are open for this kind of industry and no question at all from our government.

I trust with bitcoin price can be higher price, bitcoin always give profit for every investor trust with bitcoin as investment assets. During this year with bitcoin how growing up many companies have adopt and accepted bitcoin as legal currency payment, now many country support using bitcoin and make me very trust with bitcoin as best investment digital assets at the future.

Feedback is the only thing which i look for, when i need to check if i want to use the particular service or not.
You cannot really grantee that provably fair is truly implemented in a gambling site and even if you can confirm it, still there is no way to be ensure that provably fair site will not scam.

Same is the case with exchanges. If you see a lot of volume in exchange and people being positive about it, you can say it to be a trusted site. Low volume new exchanges are risky.

In short, Feedback matters most.

I don't entirely trust them (Bitcoin exchanges or any Bitcoin related services) it's just that they are convenient to use and also a licensed company. Let's take the third party wallet coins.ph for example. Coins.ph is a wallet that holds your Bitcoin for you, so why would you let them hold your Bitcoin? Because of their services. Coins.ph has a lot of services like paying bills, buying game credits, and a loading station. You could make a business out of this services as Coins.ph gives you rebate for every purchase.

My trust on bitcoin related service is based on their reputations and credibility for instance Blockchain.info was favorite online wallet based on their trust and I had never read any scam related issue as far their services is concerned In own opinion I researched to know the number of hodler of bitcoin using that wallet is huge. so also I used the same ideology mentioned above to determine or choose the exchange I am using currently and so far no any issue with them.

In bitcoin it's not only an investment of money. It also includes investment of trust. When we invest our money on a certain site, it means we also invest our trust to that site. And it takes time for sites to gain trust from their customers.
It's a risk but I don't just trust any site easily, I also have to see and check if I can trust that site with my bitcoin. A site should reach my standards before I trust them with my coins. I always have to make research on something before making decisions.

I think it is not totally about the trust, yes it matters but I think we put our Bitcoins in related crypto websites because we risk it for the sake of profit. I deposit money in casino simply to entertain my self and profit as well if got hit by any luck. The only websites I trust to place my funds with are the online wallet that stores Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This industry is full of risk and it is hardly to put our trust the best to do is to take the risk.

It's pretty complicated. (https://todayswertresresult.com/) You need to look at their track record, (https://thebuzzevents.com) maybe who is behind the company, look at reviews on the internet

that wallet though may not really be trust because they don't provide us the privatekeys, i'm a filipino too who has no other option. but i'm definitely limiting the amount sent there. withdrawals are even limited to how much KYC documents have been sent to them. right now i'm still below 400k and i think that is enough of the information for BIR to come knocking my doors when the government starts monitoring us.

there are 3rd party you can trust and there are the ones you have to avoid specially the ones asking KYC documents.

I trust some bitcoin-related services/websites online because I do research and background check on the site/company. Having knowledge about the team behind the service/website that I'll be investing in is a must for me before I trust my bitcoin of any amount. That's the only way they can get my trust to invest, for them to prove that they can provide the right service and they are legitimate.

It is quite simple, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, any service that caters or accept Bitcoin gives a light mood to us.  It is not actually trusting but rather trying the service if it is reputable and live to what we are expecting.  It needs to be proven before we fully trust that platform or website.  And if by a series of use of their service and they do not fail to deliver then that trust will build up.  In short, the proven service makes me trust Bitcoin related services.

I only trust Bitcoin services online if I can make some checks, if the reviews are good and if that service has some longer existance history. I always check the owners if possible and the website itself. Also, important is customer service and how they respond. However, there is no 100% certainty so scam or kind of misuse is always possible.

I also love to gamble at times when the price of bitcoin is low. And one of the things I look to determine if it's legit is the reviews of people who use it. I'm also trying to test deposit so I know it's trustworthy because gambling websites today are fake and can't really be trusted

As for me, it's important that we'll know about their trust rate based on their user's reviews and feedback. It's necessary to check their legitimacy and the team behind their site. We have to choose top gambling sites because we'll be risking our funds if we'll join without checking. It's our responsibility to do a series of research first.

Having background checks is actually the first step we should always do before taking any actions especially when money is on the line.
Searching for feedback or reviews is one way to prevent being a victim of a scam, if there's a lot of users are trusting a certain bitcoin-related service, I can also put my trust on it.

casino will always be one of the benchmarks of using bitcoin, the more casinos that use deposits using bitcoin, then bitcoin will always be used. Because the transaction value for the casino is also not small

we can emulate it like dogecoin, we all know until now there is no clarity about this coin, but until now he can still survive with insignificant values, one of them because it is helped by the casino.

the use of deposits and withdrawals for bitcoin in the casino itself is very large, this is very helpful for bitcoin growth

Reputation is the key! You cannot just go ahead to buy something with bitcoin from someone or company you don't know or trust. If you do that you'll easily get scammed. The first rule of dealing with bitcoin is must know the person or company you are dealing with by knowing their reputations.
Indeed, since there are a lot of scam sites these days and if you don't want to have a bad experience then you should know how to find information and details that you needed in order to make right decisions. If you're in doubt then its better to do some research because it can help you to determine if the site is trustworthy or not, also, don't trust easily because you don't know their true intention. You can also try asking people's experiences because it helps me a lot when i'm still new in online gambling, they gave me some advice and tips.

Of course, decision making and deep research should be done, bitcoin is being used by scammers, they create different bitcoin-related websites and using its trend to victimize users. We should always remember that not all crypto-related site is legit, do not make a rush decision when it comes to bitcoin, some are just fake and for scam purposes.

I only trust the Bitcoin related services that I am using because of their track record. Without those clean track records I would not have continued using them. Bitcoin casinos should be provably fair, without KYC, and will ask zero withdrawal fee for me to use them. There are a lot of options out there with those qualifications so I have to look at their track records as well. There are many Bitcoin casinos that have shady past.

Why do you trust some website/company with your bitcoins?
Trusting a service depends upon the reputation of the company, i usually do not invest my coins in any new website aka exchanges or gambling sites unless they are in the market for a longer period of time and once i finish my rolls i usually withdraw the money rather than holding those in the site.

Is it the provably fair? Does it mean you trust a site when the game is fair?

Before depositing you need to verify whether those are provably fair website and if it is not and you are unable to verify your bets then what is the point in playing in those sites, reputation and to some extent offers given by a site attracts me .

Why do you trust some website/company with your bitcoins?

What makes us believe is that the company is clear in the sense that it has been trusted by many people. And has been operating for a long time. it is often added in big news so that many people see that the company is not deceptive or risky. So far, starting from the wallet to the casino site that you mentioned, most people have been able to distinguish which is good and risky

Obviously it's trust. Bitcoin's payment network was created to be P2P which means two persons can interact with each other without any intermediary because they both have mutual trust with each other. Every website is created on such trust. Even though there is a little legal protection atleast if the casino and user are from same country otherwise it's just based on trust. This trust can be built using advertisement and past experiences of other users. For example if we see any website showing their banner on the forum it generally can be trusted( Forum doesn't takes any responsibility for that even though) but I personally feel that site to be a bit more reliable. Moreover a look on the scam accusation section can also make you trust the website.

I think what makes me trust and make a deposit with Bitcoinku is by looking at the platform and seeing how much interaction it has with various users and legit or not. but gambling places will not be able to provide a guaranteed profit and there is a very high risk of loss, it is better you can avoid gambling like that, you better trade in the exchange because if you gamble when you lose money and capital you have immediately lost whereas if you trade at the exchange place when the price falls you can still hold it until the price rises again.

You shouldn't too worry about how it's hard to find a legitimate bitcoin-based services as you have this forum where we talk everything about cryptocurrency project, giving them a test and review publicly, verify things and many more we can discuss it here you just need to dig deeper into the conversations... and you'll find the answer. It's work for me everytime I needed one ... to look whether the project/ services is well known already , is it have a long reputation history etc and then I can decided it's a legitimate one or not.

I am trusting bitcoin related services like bitcoin casino or bitcoin gambling if the website or the gambling site is already prove by many users that it is safe and the game have the fairness to the users as well.
But before I trust those kind of gambling sites I am checking first the review of the people if the site is good and no negative reports from its users and etc.
About the exchangers, I am also looking on the front end of the platform as well as the review of some people who tried already the exchanger, so that I would become aware on what would be the exchanger's background.
That would be the ways why I trust bitcoin related services.

The first question that comes to mind is why ?, why would you rather use a shady exchange or a gambling site than to use a trusted one that many people have used it before, and to be honest it is hard these days to tell which one is trustable or not, back in the day we used to trust reviews and other people who tried it before, or some experts but these days it is hard to trust anyone, but usually i look for several information about the exchange or the gambling sites regarding the founders and the origins and if it seems trustable i will just test it with a small amount and see what happens and make an opinion based on that experience.

Since bitcoin is digital currency and very risky you should trust bitcoin related services because you can't use bitcoin without using it's services. I think there is no problem if you trust bitcoin services as long as you know what will be the outcome or the result of using it. Is you want to trade, you need to trust bitcoin exchange that you want to use or if you want to play in casino you need to trust there services in order for you to use it. You know "TRUST" is very important in different aspect like in bitcoin services because you won't trying to use bitcoin services and making transaction without trusting that services.

Earning trust is not that easy as you think especially when it comes to bitcoin services.
It takes time and merit from users, it doesn't come only to one person or from someone you know. Trust is gained by the level of satisfaction and security of bitcoin services to its users.
But it doesn't end to that, being consistent also matters.

I trust a bitcoin related service by looking at its user base and reading about it on the social media and forums, if the people are talking good about the website then I will definitely use that website and if not then it's a no for me and I will look for another website or a business.

Before registering an account on several bitcoin service sites, I first asked several people at the telegram about the site. If they say that the site is safe, then I try it and then trust it.

Tough question to answer, but I think there's this term in marketing they call the customer journey and that's basically how any person trusts a service (it actually matters little whether it's bitcoin or paypal, since it's all about trusting some other person with your money or time).

I actually still don't trust services with my coin -- I use only 2 services now where I actually keep deposits long-term: Localbitcoins and a gaming service. The latter, it is literally blind trust, and have no way to recover anything should they run with my coins, but there is a rather big benefit in it, and I'm willing to take that risk. What made me trust it? I've interacted personally with the owners and judging from their character business-wise, I feel like I can trust them. With my life? No. To do the right thing with my coins? Yes. Will it change the likelihood of them scamming me? Absolutely not. But I make peace with that.

On LBC the trust is built up over years. I try finish my trades in days, and they have solved disputes fairly in the past, so that's their reputation and track record.

if its a casino . i trust them with my btc if im verry familliar with them let say they are being advertise here on the forum and on outside the forum for a longer time and they already earned a good repuation over the 1 to 2 year course or much better longer than this  .

the provably fair and house edge option are only consider as a bonus for me  . same goes on a bitcoin exchange and on other bitcoin related services  or bitcoin related websites

I dont trust them. I will search google for them and try find scam accusations. If you find none it kooks suspicious. There needs to be at least some people who have had a bad expirience. Otherwise you will know they have tried to cover and clean up bad comments and reviews and thats bad and shows they have something to hide.

I will then deposite a small amount to test and also test to see the withdraw works. I will still be cautious to deposit big amounts.

Well, it's because of the reviews and feedback, here in the forum everyone can complain and make negative review once the site has a shady activity. If there's a lot of positive reviews and feedback then that's a trusted gambling site so you can make a deposit in it there's no need to worry and just have fun instead. Good services platform are less complaint, if there is, it will resolve as soon as possible.

I'm also skeptical with websites but since I need them or let's say I just want to gamble, of course to satisfy myself I will find a site and will gamble for a certain time. But how do I chose which site to use or visit? I guess recommendations of my close friends. Because in the first place they won't recommend certain website if it's not a legit one. I'll take their suggestions but will also do prior research. And if other says, it's good then I think that's the time for me to try that site.

As for a new service, it's hard to gain trust since they're just new. So every time I will try that site, I am more careful

The experience will make you trust bitcoin-related services in such a way, that you don't need to spend huge amount of money at the beginning. My experience with trading is that I've first tried to invest a very small amount just right for the minimum trading fee, this is when I plan to test the platform for me to gain trust and make me deposit even more. My experience might not be so good as it is by far, not the best idea to invest a small amount when trading. But at least what is essential for me is to prove that a particular exchange do really provide a good service worthy of my trust.

There are few factors which need to be taken into considerarion to trust bitcoin related services like casino must offer true and fair means of gameplay and withdrawl must be easy procedures.Other customer must have positive reviews about the site and the project must be legit with proper funds as their reserves to distribute to consumers. So it must be a sound project.

For any project that I get involved with, I try very much to see the team and be sure that they can be trusted with whatever of their project that I am attracted to.

If the team are okay, then you can trust your cryptocurrency with them be it on a gambling site or a normal project site, but aside the team also, for a project site, we have to make sure that the project is a needed one, I have no problem with gambling because it is just one product and we have so many people that likes to play games a lot and will always be there to patronize the game site thereby making whatever crypto you are using to grow, but for project, it has so many scammer that are professional and can go with your crypto, so trusting them is based in team and based on the product that is being proposed itself. What I also do is to look at some of these very popular game sites, they are the ones that I use the most when there is need for them.

Every company that has a payment must definitely have clear official legality.

As an example for gambling, before we use bitcoin in gambling, we must definitely choose clear gambling sites, with official legality. Because too many of them try to be unfair, for example, users can deposit, but it is difficult to withdraw.

We should really be careful in choosing gambling sites or the like that will be used as bitcoin transactions

In the case of casinos, I can't tell you what criteria you should look at because online casinos have anonymous owners, but I think looking at their thread in this forum can give you a clue whether or not to trust the online casino.

In the case of exchange I use exchange that I know the owner of the exchange is not an anonymous person, and I always try to know where is the headquarters of the exchange

in the case of bitcoin wallets i use the wallets that have good feedback from community members

Another question: What does a new service need to earn your trust?

if is a new exchange should not have anonymous owner and should have headquarters

if is a casino I think should have good community feedback

I think that if a system is built on a blockchain that is truly decentralized and there are no methods to implement data from the outside whose reliability cannot be determined, then such a system can be trusted. If this is a casino, then it can be considered honest. You can trust Bitcoin; it is truly decentralized.

Just only be careful in those services that are saying they are accepting bitcoin, not all casino that are accepting BTC have good reputation, some since they know BTC is popular uses it for their benefits to scam people. BTC is trustable but the projects and some services are not so be very careful in everyway we're using crypto or btc may it be for paying bills,as investement,in exchanges, wallets and for casino.

If there’s a new service you have to try it first before you know if its worth it or not or better to hear the side of other users about that service. You have to trust the services because bitcoin was made for that but never to put big amount easily, you have to test the water first before diving for you not to be broke if there’s a bad things about that service.

I don't trust them and for that reason I never hold money on their servers. Not your keys not your Bitcoins!
I trust services that I test first and I never send a lot of money at once. I also trust services that were tested by others before and have good reputation but my trust has its limits. I have some accounts on exchanges but it's just for that occasional selling of a 100€ when I need some pocket change. I don't trade and I don't sell Bitcoin so I don't care about services too much.

It is not only limited to trading cryptocurrency and bitcoins that can be considered services related in bitcoin. There are purposeful sites that provides services in return of BTC. For example, there are bitcoin transactions accelerator and other free lance services that pays in bitcoin.

The fact that these services might not be trusted is a big issue. In my opinion, beta testing will not be enough as long as you don't experience yourself how these services really works. In short, 'to see is to believe' is a good foundation to trust these kind of services.

casinos / exchanges / merchants / social media, all lead to a reputation built from a pool of community trust. If user traffic always seems to be active, then it has become a reference where companies also think about long-term services.
trust for fairness has all been seen in every blockchain transaction, irregularities can also be quickly overcome with their customer service, this makes everything sustainable with trust for greater use of capital.

if in my opinion, I'm not a person who likes to invest with bitcoin on a website, but if for playing dice or casino games with bitcoin maybe I have tried playing, usually I see from the way they are serious promotion, sometimes also see from reviews on forums this, you don't have to have to trust a website to play on a casino or dice game website, usually they give free bitcoin from their faucet or you can start with a smaller capital, usually I don't expect profits or wins because I'm just looking for fun

Trust is also an investment I put everytime I uses bitcoin related service. I'm skeptical with these things but if other seems fine using that website without any problem, then I'll go and try it as well... It seems that almost everyone is looking at the same factor in trusting one website, it's good reputation. Once that site have build their reputation, it's easier for them to attract new customers because they're already making a name in the business.

Agreed with the truth, and the cryptocurrency network has turned to be a success platform just because people or the early adopters believed in it. If that hasn't taken place bitcoin could've served to be something different from the present usage pattern. The reputation once gained is been taken forward by the people making the network more stronger and stronger with time.

I feel this question should be directed to the gambling section though, but never the less, that a service deployed Bitcoin as their payment do not make them trustworthy or truthful.
No matter how nice they seems to be, you have to check up the website online and most importantly read reviews about them from other users. Also bringing them to the forum is another way to go.

Support and partners, I myself believe in new services when the team's support is very good and their partners are very strong to encourage their services to be better. Most investors or users will see from partners other than the concepts that the new service has. If you have been here since 2017 and watched ico develop from the start, surely only ico has a good partner who will get high raised in crowdfunding, yeah like that.

Bitcoin casino is a direct way to lose your deposit. I don't believe any such site. It is better to just buy Bitcoin and wait for its rise in price, which may of course not happen and investor may lose some funds. But Bitcoin at least does not completely depreciate, unlike a deposit in an any online casino, which will make every effort to make a person lose all his money.

It all depends on the particular service and what they offer and how long they have been in existence, for example I tend to trust casinos that has been around for a very long time without getting any negative feedbacks, especially the ones that has been proven to be probably fair, for every other bitcoin service like bitrefill, same thing applies as well, I believe that bitcoin related services are revolutionary and I do my best to patronise as many of them as possible.

1. Never had any issue regarding deposit and withdrawal
2. Low withdrawal fee
3. Excellent service, including support
4. Low service fee
5. No shady promotion

Withdrawal issue, especially for big ones, is a red flag. I've seen numerous shady exchange and casino not processing big withdrawal. They'll look for mistake to not making your withdrawal. For example, they could say you own multiple account thus violating their ToS. This is bullshit. Stay away for site that does it. As for gambling site, additionally, I like the one with the lowest house edge.

While all of those things are very important to me two of the most important aspects of any bitcoin related service are their reputation and how long they had been in this market, a casino that has been in this market for years and their customers speaks highly of it is way better in my opinion than a new casino that has a lot of complaints about their services, only after I know that a bitcoin related service has those two aspects that is when l begin to look at other desirable characteristics.

But when we talk about some investment sites , which actually have some technical meaning to them then I first go and check their reviews on the Google and other sites , because who will tell you better about something , a site itself or the user ?

We all know that everything in the internet nowadays is a risk whenever you are making online transactions, that is why you should let other people to go first before you try their service for you to only have a low risk.

People don't always read reviews before trying, they are involved in forums or chat groups from the site. Trust increases from small transactions that are always smooth, and if there are problems, the support team helps quickly, and then larger transactions grow. For casino websites, etc., the most important thing is not the game system because it is a relative thing, but the convenience of the user with their balance and transactions there, the same thing happens for exchange services, etc.

Honestly, I don't give full trust to anything digital, it is not my primary reason why I am using their services. The reason why I'm using digital services is because of easy access so it is also the same reason when I am using Bitcoin-related services. In terms of casino, I often play at Bitbook.ag because I wanted to keep myself entertained so I use their services. I don't put all my money on there, I just see to it that I stick to my budget so I could still play after a few days.

I don't know if I have trust issues but I think I am not alone when it comes to trusting online applications.

as long as they are still proven to pay, and have fast deposit access, I think that's enough.  I don't need any other new services before I confirm that.  however beliefs about the money they hold are very important.  take a look at a number of such sites, or exchangers that exist today, everyone sees whether the place is trusted first, before looking at other services.
if there are other services that can be helpful and useful, it will be another plus value.

Though I have no experience in any Bitcoin related services yet, I think the reason why people put trust in a service generally is its popularity among its users. I first check feedback, reactions, and experiences of other people related to the service that's why it is a plus point for me. Another is that if it is recognized by reputable people or company in that field, another plus point. But most importantly, you must do your own in-depth research and investigation so that in the end, you won't be scammed or you will gain a good advantage with it.

Mainly constant feedback, reviews and the community replying and inviting it.

Good positive vibes mentioning something that is worth for gambling into such Casino.
Casino features that provides an indenpendent market situation vs all others which brings more investors, more money to the Casino.

That means more 5 stars a Casino presents, the more chance you will get to withdraw your funds since the Casino will not be bank broken.

There are many ways to examine the authenticity of any exchange or Casino related platform, first of all, You need to find their deposit, Hopefully, you can get it without any hassle, most of the exchanges and Casino sites have a handsome amount of Bitcoin, so it would be one of the good indicators to clarify as a potential site or not. other important findings would be the customer's feedback, we know reviews are being paid in recent time but you can make differentiate which one is fake and which review is genuine, So customer feedback could play an important role for this reason.

Or something else that doesn't have a game that's fair, for example a bitcoin exchange, how do you trust them?

Overall: What makes you trust bitcoin related services?

Another question: What does a new service need to earn your trust?

Its seems like OP is searching for a good gambling platform. Just look at the history of the sites if people are playing and winning there then you can trust them Similar for the other sites also. Not only the crypto-related platform when we used to buy from site like Aliexpress, eBay and even from amazon we need to check the user review same thing is here.

It's pretty complicated. You need to look at their track record, maybe who is behind the company, look at reviews on the internet and if they are or aren't regulated by some entity. If you're looking at casinos you might want to check if they have a license, but in the crypto space I haven't seen many casinos with one.

Casinos are hard to verify for authenticity. Most likely, for this type of service you need to check how long the site is working, who is the owner, watch reviews, to check is it a global one (how many users and which partners it has)
I also did not see a license of crypto casinos, I don’t even know where It could be registered

I use the site because there are some of my friends who use the site so I followed it, and I also read the references first in the information section of a site to find certainty and also ways to use the features contained in the site. after that I try to use it, if it's safe then I will settle down

Just the same thoughts I have, but for me, it is not enough that my friends are using it, I need mass number of people who could verify the legitimacy of a site and its services. There are some instances that many people actually are advertising a site involving those that have huge reputation, and it is not exempted from a scenario that, the particular site could be in failure as well. So, in addition, we could also consider the time frame of the operations of a particular site in which they could possibly be trusted.

I often check their alexa ranks before making a deposit because good alexa rank means the website is popular and has many active users.
Reading reviews on the Internet is a good solution too.

If you're into BTC, you have no chance but to trust some bitcoin-related services

what type of website is that? is that a gambling website or some kind of exchange? or are you just saying in general..

that's right but only for a Bitcoin Wallet, you have to trust a bitcoin wallet provider to store your bitcoins. but you are not forced to trust any gambling or exchange sites.

indeed most of the trust comes from a number of reviews, to put it simply in my opinion, I will try a small amount later if I win a big bet whether he will pay or not. because of some of the cases I've experienced, some of them are sometimes difficult to pay big wins, if it happens on a gambling site. but if it happens to the exchange I think it's very simple how to trust it. look for reviews on this forum so much about it.

There have been many instances when the gambling site didn't pay a big win to an individual and when the user posts this in the community then the website owners deposit the amount to the account of the individual just to save their reputation. Such an incident was posted in past in this forum as well a few months back. I also look for the user reviews and current payout status on the gambling websites and trading websites respectively.
