Title: Skill based gambling platforms - does anyone know?
Post by: avikz on November 05, 2019, 04:19:22 PM
Hi all,

I am looking for skill based gambling platforms that accepts cryptocurrency. For example, 8 ball pool, clash royale, PUBG or anything similar to it. I am not looking for aportsbook or sportsbetting kind of website!

Please let me know if there's any such website available for skill based gamers!

Thanks in advance!

I think there is no such gambling platform that offers what you are looking for. I wish there is, I am a fan of online gaming too. I hope there is a platform where you can arrange a fight against other players using online games such as CS: GO, LOL, DOTA2, and any other e-sport games, where you can also place a bet on each fight. I think that would be fun if other players can place a bet or even viewers can add more bets before the game starts.

check this site: https://coinsutra.com/gaming-cryptocurrencies/
specifically, look for Firstblood. although it is not the same as gambling like what you had in mind they still let you play a match with other players and win rewards.
also, they focus on Esport games so I thought you might be interested.

at the moment I'm not aware of any site , but in case you don't know wink it's one of the dapps on the tron platform
they do partner with people with new ideas and in their telegram some people have mentioned many times that there will be a partner that will offer skill games especially video games so people can gamble by playing games

no ETA for now and it may take long time to be added since the whole site isn't ready , they don't even have a support team for unanswered tickets at the moment so I guess that's the priority for now

As far as I know, people usually play 8 ball pool and bet with BTC right here in Bitcointalk and reddit forums even if the site itself does not natively support BTC as a payment option though the threads are outdated.

Example : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962358.0

Apart from this, I have no idea which site supports what you are looking for op.

Gambling? No. I don't think that's called gambling anymore but should rather be called a tournament instead. It's more on the side of fighting others based on your skill after all. If you're betting to yourself, well, that could be called gambling in its own but I doubt any would create such a platform. I'd rather join tournaments with entry fees since that could also be called a bet, where you bet the entry fee and the reward is the prize pool.

How about this site: https://www.castlecrypto.gg/blockchain-games-list/

I guess that it will need to search deeply in search engine because I see that is not many gambling websites which have skills-based games on gambling or maybe I don't know what you want. But on that site, you can find many games that need a strategy, so I hope that you can found what you want.

That 8 ball pool was just only exclusive here in the Forum and the site of 8 ball pool is not a betting site but an online game site only apparently there are no games aside from it that are surely exclusive as skill based online gambling game, But there are a video that I just watch that are Multiplayer Skill-Based Video Gambling Casino Games, that have games such as

*Pac-Man Battle Casino
*Deal Or No Deal Poker Special
*Jet Pack Joy Ride
*Cut the rope 2

and a lot more but I think it is not an online site but a casino site, I guess Skill Based online game can surely be establish we just need to wait and maybe it is still on process and who knows we might play such games in the future.

I will be also looking forward for this kind of platform, I have never bet crypto currencies on e-sports, I think there should be companies that are looking in to this because e-sports are somewhat popular these days. Only i have bet in game items and no money or crypto included as it will be against the rules. Well of course maybe players of the platform for this are well aware of the e-sports for sure, and mostly are players themselves.

This is not a common gambling discipline and has not a lot of popularity. That is why even the number of replies here in the thread is low.I think that only texas hold em poker is a multiplier game that relies heavily on skill and patience and only a little about luck.I also think that we need some extra options in the skills games and I think it is the duty of casinos to bring these options to us.

And OFCP at SWC.  ;D

The only game that I consider that base on the skill gambling platform is a poker game that accept Bitcoin and other cryptos. I believed that probably 75% on it was based on skills and the rest is luck. When I am looking for a poker room I usually visit this site, Swc poker site. Here is the thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5068812.0. Aside from that, I did not know which gambling site based on skills, usually of them are based on luck. Like dice gambling.

I don't see yet any gambling platforms that offers those kind of gambling like having a player vs player betting like 8 ball pool, dota2, chess, or anything else. I don't see some gambling platforms recently maybe because it is kind of hard to develop or any good reason behind it.
I only know some websites that are allowing to bet in the team you want, just for example in dota2 you will just pick on what team you want to win.
But I can consider as a skill based gambling the game poker because you need enough experience and skills in order for you to dominate the table that you are playing with so I can say that this is a skill based gambling also.

There was one announcement in the Gambling section a month ago regarding a leaderboard-type rankings for a gambling game and whoever gets/grinds to the top gets the prize pool. I just can’t find it after a few minutes of searching but I believe that’s the only one I could think of. There are other platforms though the reward systems aren’t that great and not really worth it in the end.

As long as it is risking some money to play the game and in a hope to win some money, it is called by gambling no matter what the game you want to play IMO.
Talking about skill based game such as 8 ball pool online, I would not even try it with money as there is high chance to play against a bot which is developed to always win.
Pure skill based gambling game does not exist as I have never heard any sites offering such skill based game so far.

I think what OP mention is more like a betting personal and only can be done if we get opponent that want to make a bet too. Commonly a site only offer games like usual, like poker, or maybe sportsbetting game. Maybe i am not really know about gambling sites, but what op mention usually like personal bet.

Like a PvP based casino where the other end would be your opponent? I still haven't seen this kind of platform however, you can simply set up this kind of betting personally with your opponent manually.

The e-sports side is more of an online setup and talks about betting, this is popular with my friends.

I don't think that such a platform can be called as a gambling platform.
In my opinion, you are searching for a platform which hosts tournaments that pay out on cryptocurrencies. Maybe this is the most suitable category for you to search for.

For the esports side, I don't think there are any for CS:GO at all, even for platforms that just accept fiat currencies; there used to be a number of popular sites where you could earn money from 1v1ing other people and winning, but those platforms have largely lost popularity from a large number of people using 'legit' cheats to game the system and a general lack of rewards as well. Cheats are probably the major reason why there's very few or no platforms for skill-based gambling as a whole. There's a few private services like ESEA that have anti-cheating protections good enough for a sort of gambling platform like this, but they don't seem interested in gambling at the moment.

Hi OP,

Check this game topic -->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5182073.0

It looks similar to your requirement. It is a multiplayer battle royale game based on Bitcoin. I am unable to connect to the website might be a problem on my side. You can check it though.

I will be also looking forward for this kind of platform
Your signature, Mintdice, is in the process of developing skill-based games.

Games:
Pyramid (Skill Game)
PowerMint Lottery (Casino Game)
Castle Royale (Skill Game)
Sports and E-Sports book (Skill Game)

At least two of these games are entirely new, plus their reputations are excellent up to this point.

Maybe gambling sites will develop skill based games, but it won't be purely skill based. When we talk of games to be entirely skill based, the gambling website won't get an edge out of the game. In simple users will go for calculations and play which will get winning and if the trick or the calculation is revealed everyone will win and there won't be anything for house. So, in the name of skill based games promotion will happen and those won't be perfectly skill based.

Actually OP PUBG and clash royale is a good idea as well its very interesting to gamble because of being popular and so intense games . ;D   I don't know if this possible in the future.? Or is this happening but not yet popular and still very private?

I was hoping poker will be in OP's option too since it requires skills and strategies to play and win with those cards, but since PUBG mention soon maybe there will be a site who will host different betting of alike game for PUBG, ML, COC like how sponsored tournament is having now. If it will not be just a betting if we can also play in it, and will be able to win crypto instead of golds or skins in Mobile Legends.

Actually, I came by a website like that just today. Here it is: https://playdecent.gg/. It has a long list of restricted jurisdictions, and it's unclear whether this website can be trusted/allows earning actual income (not the token which you cannot sell for anything decent kind of income). I've never tried it before, but since I have not seen any other websites like that yet, this is the only one I can share here.

Yes of course, playing a gambling really need a skilled player because it will give them a chance to win and lessen the loses. Also not only in gambling is needed a skill based but all aspect of crypto like trading, holding and investing.  In gambling you also need have enough knowledge to do it properly or even a little bit skilled.

Interesting all I can think is an online game where in before you start a game you need to put a bet and you'll earn 2x if you win. As an example playing Dota 2 or CS-GO or maybe other online games and placing a bet at the start of the game (In cryptocurrency of course) I think this would be a good Idea for a skill based gambling.

I'll watch this thread since I do like as well to know if there's some services or platforms that offers this kind of gambling game and it would be really exciting and addicting at the same time.

you are reffering to sportsbetting/sportsbookies  but the guy already said that he isnt looking for a sportsbet sites  . this actually contradicts his genre choice because the game he mention are all related or can only be found on a sportsbetting site .

in the case of dota 2 or on the games that are being played by other players , you arent basing on your skills but you are basing on the skill of other players to be able to win except from those games that your the one that controls. .
