Title: What company to buy a miner from?
Post by: Jminer31 on March 17, 2014, 09:38:11 PM
hello bitcoiners. so i have been running into a few problems i would hope i can find answers from on this site cause i know everyone is very helpful! so my question is what company is ACTUALLY a legit mining hardware company? because from alot of the searching for miners i have done has ended up with hard feelings towards companies that have people claiming they are total bogus. i have looked at butterfly labs and they have a terrible track record, i have seen AMT which is iffy, as well as cloud hashing and alot of these i have seen on this forum to be called scams so im just wondering, for the best service and price, where can i find a 1 TH/s miner that will deliver when promised? or that i will atleast get good service from while waiting and i will get what i order. thanks :)

I have ordered the Antminer S1 from https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm and from one of his resellers https://www.112bit.com/

Both orders were delivered in less than a week and the units have been operating overclocked at 393.75 Mhz with less than a 1% error rate.  The Antminer S2, which claims 1 TH, just came out and probably shipped today.  I am waiting for the reviews and the next batch or two before pulling the trigger on my purchase, but I am not expecting to be disappointed.

If you want now, what they say but if your serious there's no other choice than knc, the only company that as excellent... Everything!

Personally reccomend and helpful when had issues with jupitor.

Cointerra units have been running flawlessly too so its a tough choice between them and knc. Knc are 20nm.... Slight edge but can't go wrong with either

KNC  ??? they will use your 20mn 2 months for themselves, then you will see your hardware, not mentioned a half of Neptune's $$$$ went on knc Jupiter's farm batch 3 & 4 only for knc  :-*

I was planning on purchasing an X-3 because it's only 1000 watts for 2TH.
It seems though I may be better off buying a TerraMiner IV for the same 2TH but at 2100 watts.

Any thoughts?
Not concerned about power costs.  I am more concerned about my limited power capacity and heat.  I already have 2 ant miners.

Black Arrow do not have a working miner yet... or maybe ever.  This is a very poorly informed decision that you are almost guaranteed to regret.

I haven't ordered anything yet.  From what I've been reading in the forums lately I agree with you about Black Arrow.  Almost all the 2Th miner's I've seen are in the 2000+ watt range. So I am skeptical on how Black Arrow was achieving 50w for 100 GH and 1000 watts for 2TH.

Just looking for the best way to make the most of my income tax refund.  ;D

Don't buy from BFL (Butterfly labs) and AMT (Advanced miners)...they will never send your rigs, and you cannot cancel the order either, so you will never get refund!

Bitcoin:
- Bitmain antminer s1 or s2
- lketc Dragon miner 1th/s or 820g

Litecoin / scrypt:
- Gridseed infinity usb 330k
- Gridseed G-blade 5mh/s

nothing else I believe you can buy to get to your doorstep within few days.

KNC fucked it up.
Bitmain's successful S1 , will become obsolete with difficulties, soon, coming.
S2 has problems, and no availability.

Only clones of 28nm could be viable solution. LKETC has nice prices with $2850 per Th/s, and always in stock.

I am trying the rest cloners, but no results yet.

All from personal experience.

I can't figure out what's the rationale to buy a miner at current prices!? You will never get your investment back - neither in BTC nor in $$$. Buy BTC or LTC instead!

So far the batch 2 S2's seem to be having fewer problems.  Although today is the first day that people are receiving them in volume so it's a little early to make bold statements about the rest of the batch.

Bitmain is the best choice due to good prices and ACTUALLY DELIVERING. Shucks, don't take my word for it, just ask around  ;)

To be honest I bought directly from LKETC, so I have no experience from resellers.

But now I will order with pcfli , he looks decent and has delivered on time to everyone.
He said he sells for $2850 each.
