How did you know that the top big exchanges will be the next target of scammers? Is there any proof?
I think big exchanges is not that easy to compromised by hackers. Big exchanges have tight security by having 2fa, like email and sms verification which is not easy for hackers to take.

Probably Spam/FUD or anything that disgraceful things to do to hurt crypto currency. Although its not bad if you will withdraw your funds for saftey purposes. And also, Storing your assets in the exchange is big mistake for a traders. Never trust your assets to exchange no matter how trusted it was

Just to be safe, even if this is just a spam/fud, I think I'll withdraw my funds for trading and store it for now in my hardware wallet.

10 Top exchange also has experienced people to secure their exchange. Large exchanges will indeed be hacked targets because a lot of funds are managed there. But security is tightened. There is no safe system, but at least be prepared and be alert to secure the system.

In as much as I find it extremely difficult to believe but I have been of the notion that keeping funds in exchanges isn't a good idea. The hack on Binance months ago shows that no exchange is safe and therefore the only place to keep our funds safe is in private wallet. Lastly, I will urge you to be careful of the way you spread news or informations like this without any legit source it doesn't spell good at all.

Well you should only use exchange that you trust  most and just put only a balance you need to trade in that moment , exchange is only use for trading not for storing your balance or crypto currency . i dont think is there are problem if they plan to hack exchange we all know that they are always targeting exchange many has been doing that before.

Wow! OP didn't even bother to elaborate more on his warning or at the very least provide some credible evidence! Even if we assume that he/she had first hand knowledge of the attack, it is more unlikely that those attackers will only target the top 10 exchange but I think they would prefer those exchanges that don't have adequate defenses to repel any cyber attack.

Normally its a bad idea to leave valuable coins on any exchanges because anything can happen at any time but this info you are sharing right now is off key, there is no tangible reason why you post this warning, or do you know hackers that want to hack the top 10 exchanges ?

Top exchanges are always remain vulnerable for the hackers because of the higher trading volume and the hackers will get enough funds to mitigate their hacking expenses and for the making of money. But at the same time these exchanges are also tighten their security so that the hackers are not enter easily in the direct method rather they are enter from the client side with the technique of fishing. So, always be care-ful of the phisher but not withdraw your funds from the security tighten exchanges. If you are withdrawing then keep it in  your ledger or Trezor.

How is it a fud if the reality is just like this? top exchanges are the target of hackers because the exchange holds a lot of assets. This thread is more like a reminder to us that do not hold our assets on the exchange because it is not our asset if we do not hold the private keys, also do not forget we are getting near to Bitcoin halving. FUD or not, it is not really ideal to leave your funds in exchanges even if it is big or small. Big exchanges are good prospects for hacking since they are holding huge funds from users. That is why you should be cautious when leaving your money online, anytime hackers can attack, no warnings needed, people are already aware of it.

This is basically spam, without showing any source where he get or how did he able to anticipate that the top exchanges will be the next target of hackers. Do not pay attention to his post. Thanks for your concern but i think those in the top 10 crypto exchange are already know this! that anytime they will be targeted by those hackers that's why most of them are already vigilant about these issues and keep upgrading its security system, if they were hacked because of its own negligence that was there own fault.

In the first place its never advisable to leave fund in the exchange. No matter how big and secured an exchange is, its not always safe to leave your major funds on the exchange. This is just an investment precaution.

You think its easy to hack through security of top exchange? most times hackers will only die trying, binance have learnt from their mistakes, its best if top exchanges keep updating their security from time to time and as for investors its best not to keep big amount on exchanges

You shouldn't be keeping your funds in an exchange in the first place. When you are trading at an exchange you withdraw when you are done. Do not leave funds there. This way the only way you will lose funds is if the attack happens while you trading and that is very unlikely. So stop with the FUD and be happy.

Exchanges have a strong defense against hacker attacks and they cannot easily rob all exchange funds.

Common with experienced traders to withdraw after the day ends making sure that the funds are safe and it won't worried them while sleeping at night. Exchange always prone to attacks as hackers keeps trying to bypass the securities and try to sucked the funds inside.

It's always known to traders not to store coins inside exchange knowing the principle, " not your private keys, not your coins".

Almost everyone of us encountered this kind of incident, although at some point we did our part to do research and all the things we did to check if a certain project is legit, still there's some point wherein owners just ran away, wherein there are scammers our there who will scam exchange. Scammers will really do things for their own interest, and we can't please them to stop.

You're wrong, top 10 means their security is good also and our balance is safe there. Even we have to be careful with random exchanges with low volume because the exchange itself can steal our balance. So your logic is not work this time. Its a better idea for storing your holding coins on dedicated wallets and hardware wallets but for traders, we need our coins in exchanges. Larger the liquidity, larger are profit gains.
Large exchanges are always on target from hackers that's why they have some of the best security measures. None of them stores a large portion of their balance on hot wallet and most of the funds are on cold storage and almost all of the top 10 exchanges can afford to lose their hot wallet once in a while.

Well I am all set and ready to be hacked anytime, I have assets on bitrex, hitbtc, and other top ten exchange. I wouldn't mind if they are going to be hacked anyway because the moment I put all those money in their i was already taking the risk. Who would've put their money outside the country with no assurance who wouldn't be hacked at all. It happens all the time, and if you are one of the unlucky ones that have been targeted then it is sad to say you would have just have to accept it and move on. I have been hacked many times, thrice or more than that, but I never fainted and continues life as nothing good would come out of it.

Top 10 big exchanges have always been getting hacked or at least attempted to be hacked, its not really a big news.

Just this year binance has been hacked twice, one where someone stole peoples API with phishing attempt (not really hacking binance tbf) and another where people stole 7000 bitcoins from binance (they were fortunately rich enough to cover that loss) hence there is always a chance that your exchange could be hacked at any moment, that is why I try to keep my long term holdings on my wallet but that doesn't mean I have zero on exchanges because I have to have a bit in there to keep on trading and I do trade time to time, I am not a great big day trader and all that but I would rather risk getting hacked over having 100 different wallets for 100 different coins that I keep trading in between.

Imagine if everyone did what op is recommended, not that it would ever happen.  Trading volume would drop off a cliff and there would be no markets for coins and the price would collapse.  I would much rather take my chances on a reputable exchange like binance than live in fear that a hacker is going to strike.  And I'm sure it's going to happen again, seeing as how binance was the last victim of a hacking.  They survived, tho and their customers didn't lose a dime in the process.

I think there are a lot of hacking attempts of top 10 exchanges everyday:) But most of them has a really great security system, because they are BIG business representatives, so they can spend a lot of money on it.

They were all a target for hackers, BTC is money and hackers with malicious intent are going to keep finding ways to get access to these exchange no matter how small they are. The bigger the exchange the more they will try to go there but these exchanges also improving their security. Binance were targeted months ago but they quickly handled it. Most of them probably get more than 100x attempt everyday. What's up with that hackers now trying to spill the information about their failed attempts.

Don't keep your tokens on an exchange regardless of what rank they are, use a hard wallet.

You are right, a trusted top exchange must be responsible for the security level of its users. If the top exchange has become a target, then what will happen to other exchanges whose level is far from that? Shouldn't we be more vigilant? and saving assets in an exchange wallet is quite risky, it is not recommended except for urgent needs such as trading.

This is not a new revelation and all the exchanges are under attack constantly and it is always a battler between the hackers and the exchanges, be it bitcoin or stock exchanges and so is the reason you need high level of security to maintain everything without any issue and when a company fails to carry on their duties hackers will loot the money. Hackers will surely continue to attack large Crypto exchanges. But this shouldn't make us panic, and should withdraw our money. And we, we must be careful even though all exchanges have their own security systems. Take care of our account, hide your password and install Authentication 2 factors to protect your account from hackers.

I think there is no problem with the current top 10 exchanges and everything is going very well so attacks will be unlikely because security is always the top priority of all exchanges. If you are worried about losing money, it is best to keep in a cold wallet because this is a fairly safe way for all investors. In fact, I divide my capital very carefully and only spend 30% of my assets to invest in decentralized exchanges so I don't have to worry too much about investing.

They are top 10 for reasons and one of it is popularity ofcourse they will be targeted by the hackers that is just simply stating the obvioud but the exchanges will definitely have their own security measures. Every popular site is pretty much become hacker target everytime because they are popular and I dont think such a thing is enough reason to withdraw. I mean if the exchange is reliable they will definitely take care of their security and reimburse if there is a security breach.

Usually hackers nowaday target the hot wallet directly by exploiting the hole within the exchange security however they also phished people into giving away their data so I think 2FA could prevent from hacking aswell

I do not store my coins in exchanges cause it is much prone to hacking. I only send my coins in a exchange when i want to sell them. It is not adviceable to store tokens in a exchange, cause once it gets hacked you cant bring them back.

I don't think all exchange site is prone from hacking in which most of them have a high security in terms of private informations of the users. Well, I understand your point but the user must trust the exchange as they want to sell or buy their coins have a huge potential to give a great amount of profit.

Yes,nothing is unhackable on this world yet weve known that security itself been made/coded by humans which means there would always be a loophole or bypass into those securities.
It might not be able to happen directly but as years pass by there would be always the possibility.Hence, its been suggested and been advised for how many times that dont keep your coins on
