Any interesting stories to pass the time while we wait for the next boom?

Once I listened to the advice of a friend of mine and invested all my money ($ 1,500) in a project. I lost all my money, but gained valuable experience. Since then, I listen only to myself.

i used to sell my NANO (then XRB) for like 100 sats daily.  many people did, it was easy to get and profitable
when it first launched it was given away from a faucet at 1000 coins per claim, and there was no timer on the faucet, you could claim all day. i got millions daily
i remember thinking it was broken and asking the dev and he said it was on purpose to get the coins out there

XRB got rebranded into NANO, and later had an ATH of 30+$ per coin.....     people had millions of coins, but we all sold them for cheap :D

Two years ago there was a project called pillar(PLR) (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pillar/) and I wanted to invest in it. At that time the price was almost around $0.05. I forgot it for some reason and after two months the price went up to $1.80. Obviously, the current price is much worse, but if I invested at the time I thought, it would provide good profit.

My biggest loss was $ 100, I lost them by investing in pump groups. It's funny to talk about it today but at that time I had little experience on some things.

Loses i part in the trading and mistakes is part as human being however mistakes is the best guide to recorrect all wrong decision to make earn profits in trading, I'll remember my mistakes decision when I am a newbie in trading I can't control my emotions I saw my coins almost goes the price drop more than 50% so a newbies and lack of understanding I rattle and I sell it for quick until Imlear well how to handle emotions. And now I earn trading 10 to 15 percent a day depends on the market situations.

I don't know if this is a loss or not but I lost $ 5,000 in assets that I had in 2017 because I put my money in coinsmarkets and from there I gained experience not to put money in any market.

I bought a lot of coins that looks so promising at the time, the coin was OYSTER Shell and OYSTER Pearl
Great coin, great devs, great support, a brilliant future right?

But I lost more than 500 USD because I was absent of cryptos for one month and puff, the coins was dead and I ended with nothing

Now I only have big coins in my portfolio

I think it's not the right board for this topic. But I will answer it.
This happened way back 2017 where all altcoins are pumping crazy. I was really amazed how I earned $20k within a day. But greed controlled me and I didn't sold it when it's still high. The altcoin dropped and never recovered from it, including me. One thing learned from it. Don't let greed control you.

It was in past 2018 year. I participated in MVL chain bounty and get about 470k tokens. Token has been listed at IDEX exchange and price was very low so I just forget about this one, but after a while I checked the price of token and it begun slowly moving and after few days the total coast of my tokens grows from ~50$ to 1100$ and I sold it for 2 eth. And after a week price has growed in 3x so i lost about  2000$ because I had no patience. :(

My biggest mistakes, buying the hype around the coin and keeps on believing that it will go on a parabolic rise, I didn't exit when all the signs are already there, I guess I have to keep my emotions out of the window early. I won't mentions the coins though, but most of them are also dying and I have no choice by to exit and suffer a lost.

The story that I regret in cryptocurrency is not selling tokens or coins when the price has gone up high and hoping the price will go up higher. This happens maybe because of greed who want to get a large profit quickly

The one I can't forget is the bounty Ive joined for 4months straight knowing th project is just scam and I invested lot of time promoting it. Too bad we can't complain on such matter but that is also one of my greatest lesson not to join campaign without much reviewed.  After that tragic experience, I am very picky and strict on choosing my campaign to join.

A while ago when I had just started trading cryptocurrency as a whole, I got liquidated for about $2,000 on a leveraged trading site. That was one of my biggest mistakes in trading in general, especially back then, and that was also a wake-up call to myself that I was risking way too much money for very little reward, and I worked for the next few weeks to retrain myself to both think and trade differently and develop a better-formed risk management plan as well.

It wasn't the end of the world because I had learned from that experience and I also didn't risk more than I could afford to lose at that time. Not all losses are terrible things, and I've actually learned about a lot of my own flaws through analyzing losses.

i lose more than $ 5,000 on this bearish market, most of all i lose in oyster perl (PRL)

but i learn something from that mistake, it is stoploss. i didnt use stoploss when bought that coin

that's why i lose much money. in the next bull run, ill always use stoploss to avoid big lose

bcz without stoploss, what I have collected become lose

1 i had lost my access to my rai wallet (currently nano) i had bought 200k rai and this one might be my biggest loss in the my crypto history.
2 i have sold the majority of my assets a half of the peak price and most of them were getting sold around 60% from the peak price and i regret it.

Mostly i have been getting scammed by trade shitcoin like safeinsure or another coin. i was betting too much money on that and it has got dumped to the almost zero value instantly.

but that's better rather than losing my nano and it's worth more than a million dollars when it reached the peak price.  :'(

My mistake was that I invested several times in new coins. I thought by investing in new coins I would get a big profit. apparently I was wrong because the new coins that I chose could not last long in the crypto market. so from that experience I now only choose bitcoin and some of the top altcoins. it's better to invest in the top 20 CMC coins than to invest in new coins.

Don't wait for another price hike, when you see the price is already high, don't wait for it to get even higher than that. I experience this kind of strategy when the price of the coins I'm holding is finally got some exposure on the crypto industry and that was the reason it's price got increase suddenly. What I did is, I quickly sold my coins without a doubt of it might further increase later. thankfully, I sold it cause, after that pump, the price has fallen again and did not recover until now.

what you say is true, we must not be too greedy if we have experienced an increase in sales immediately, fearing that later it will go down further as before when I originally traded, I made the same mistake as not selling when prices have gone up

I once put some ETH on a project called EOcoin. This is because I got info from a telegram group that said this was a good coin. Since then I started to study EOcoin. What I see is that it's a good coin, starting from the team, platform, whitepaper, etc. But at the time of launch the market price dropped and I didn't get to sell it because of web traffic. From then until 2 months later there were no significant price changes above the ICO price. And finally I sell loss. Since then I learned that a good project is not necessarily a good price in the market.

The biggest mistake when trading is, lack of patience and always in a hurry in determining the buy and sell. And another mistake is not having capital reserves when the price of Bitcoin and Altcoin reaches the lowest price. Reserve funds really need to make a buyback and can get even more profit. Trading must know Fund management and be able to train mentally to be patient and not rush.

I lost almost $7k in bitcoin white because, at that time, I was off from the market, and I didn't know that the coin price can rich almost $1. When I check the price two months later, the price suddenly down too deep and reached $0.05. I miss that chance to sell but cannot do anything, and I still hold those coins just hoping that it could back to the higher price someday. I also miss the chance to sell xmy at 2k satoshi because I don't know if there is a pump that can push the price at that price. So that is the biggest loss for me, but I think I have and another loss in my trading journey.

As the saying "patience is the virtue" in which having a patience may give and lead us to success but unfortunately some users here want an instant outcome that have a mistake. Each of us may experience first some mistakes in order to learn and make it correct on the next attempt or take action on the possible and effective strategy in the end.

My biggest mistakes is selling my token reward from bounty too early. I've joined a bounty project calles snovio back in 2017. I was so happy when the token enter market i have a reward for 1k USD value for selling the tokens. But 1 week after, the token price is around 6k USD and i feel so regret why i sold all of mine at that time.

Even from the start I never looked at any analyst to make my first trade and even now.
I do it myself.
I have learned from the best which is experience. Although I did lose before, there are still good times which is just because of my monitoring.
As I learned more, I have seen that when you are in focus, you could make the most out of it. Profits.
But whenever I am multitasking for a lot of coins, it goes south.

The biggest mistake I've ever made huh, I think when I was around such a noob when it comes to trading thing. I just followed whatever the news or people says.
I bought some alts when it reaches peak price without knowing anything, without doing any research. Then the price fell down quite deep. I lost almost my funds. After that I learn from that mistake, and how to be a good trader. Other than than, selling too early is one of my sickness. At least I've got the profits, but I didn't max it out.

My experiences are not really that interesting to share. But let this be shared anyway so that this will become a lesson to many. I used to have a group chat made up of traders. I cannot confirm that personally of course, just like any channels and group chats claiming to be giving away free signals. I did trading based on their signals. The ending was not good enough. I ended up selling with a loss. Some I HODL for a very long time already.

The biggest experience is when I'm busy with the debate about price analysis when bitcoin is halved, my colleague and I are busy arguing about the upper limit of the price point with the correlation with all the fuds that came up at that time. Finally, we did not realize that the market saturation point was very large and that assets had been reduced by 80% from the initial purchase.

From there I learned a lot about the various possibilities that occur in the market. Big loss is the initial awareness to not only rely on the principle of "enough" and only consistent with personal analysis.

I used to have 300,000 XRB but I sold it for almost nothing. Some time later it increased to over $ 30 per coin, which is my biggest mistake since I knew the cryptocurrency. Perhaps on this forum many people like me, we have missed the opportunity to become a millionaire.

I used to earn huge $ when BTC price soar high including all alts reach there super ATH and I still didn't sell my baghold coins since I think I can earn more for thinking the pump is so solid and no one can stop the crypto at that time but suddenly all changes when huge dump came I still didn't sell since I'm thinking about the  bounce back and totally that's a mistake since instead of bouncing back the  token I hold got died and became no value at all and I left empty handed.

Greediness is my biggest mistake in my journey because I was so hungry for profit and I didn't realize that I was being greedy so I sold most of my holdings at an early stage and lose for about 40% profit just because I sold early. My biggest success is learning from that mistake and changing my mindset from being greedy and hungry into patient where it brings a lot of positive results throughout my journey.

I think there is nothing special about my story. This all happened in 2017. Before that, I held quite a lot of bitcoin (although it didn't reach 1 bitcoin). when the price of bitcoin rose that year, it was my most successful story as long as I knew bitcoin. however, losses and errors occur the following year. at that time I also held some altcoin, and I was late selling it. that's the short story of how to get my advantages and disadvantages in doing crypto trading. and I'm pretty sure this happened to crypto users who started their journey before 2017

Most losses occur to me when I trade, especially when becoming a newbie because of emotions that can not be controlled. but for now I have been able to overcome it even though sometimes it still makes a few mistakes but trading becomes a fun activity for me

My biggest mistake maybe when buy local tokens from ICO in market. And i buy in high price because their developer said, in September their exchange will be done and completed. But what actually happen is problem from their internal team, exchange not completed yet, and the token die until now. I lose double when ETH still on high price and lose in token price too.

My biggest loss was when bitcoin fell yesterday. I bought bitcoin, but when I waited for the price to go up, it never happened. I was frustrated to see it, I don't think BTC will be able to ride again in the future. at that time I had given up, but didn't sell it. a few months passed, and now bitcoin has started to return. I have got my money back because of my past mistakes.

and the biggest profit that I have ever gotten was in 2017. when ico was popular and the market was very good for traders. I made a lot of profit in just a few weeks. it was the best time while I was here.

There has been a time on Bittrex (maybe it still is, I am not up to date with its scene anymore) when pretty much every day one of the more obscure tokens had an explosive growth and if you were able to identify it  before most others, you could make crazy gains in a matter of hours. It was in a way a pump and dump situation, but not organized by some PnD group on Telegram, it was a natural one. So long story short, I entered one of those tokens too late, so the price crushed quickly after my entering point and I was unable to exit without a major lost. I was aware of the risk of it so I didn't enter with a huge amount of funds, but I still lost 100$ or so.

Biggest losses? I got a lot. Currently, I decided to hold a lowmarketcap coin but it seems like each day I am getting rekt. I am holding XBX. When I am doing trading, that was when IEO at binance is very hot wherein I am jumping to first day of trading for the new coin then getting rekt. My suggestion would be do not jump into a train that is already running.

I will just share my happiness when trading, because defeat is saved alone.

unfortunately the oyster (prl) is now dead and the owner left, I feel lucky to have time to sell it.

Biggest regret is not selling those token I earned from bounties those time, being too thrift and not enjoying the fruit of labor or budgeting it, now I learned my lesson to stop loss and be updated in all holdings that I have. Sometimes it's better to focus on few working alts that hold too much, find time still to enjoy our reward.

And for the time being since I stopped to trade and focus more on real-world work my ability has diminished, so for those of you who are learning trade you should never stop doing it but for a short break you can do it

yes, there is a little story about the loss that I experienced when investing in the MiracleTele project at the time, about $ 250 that I invested in the project but ended up with fraud. I began to learn that not all legitimate projects can guarantee profits, the fact that investment is sometimes not always profitable.

The loss that I experienced was following the trading signal channel, I was stuck in FOMO and FUD, I bought at a high price and the price plunged far, is that crazy right? That is a lesson for me. After that I was quite afraid to trade again, and now began to try slowly.

bag holding altcoins!

i think it is the biggest mistake that all of us have made in the altcoin market and the only difference between people is the degree of which we bag hold and lose money. some people lose a little before they wake up and dump to prevent further losses and some never do and end up losing nearly all their money.
luckily i realized the situation soon enough to prevent catastrophe.

I started to trade in 2017. At first I bought Bitcoin, but I saw many interesting articles how Ripple and Ethereum will overbeat Bitcoin, so I started to trade XRP and ETH. And there I lost a big potential profit. Because BTC went from 2000USD to 10000USD, while these 2 altcoins were pretty stable...  ::) From this time I believe only in BTC in long term.

I have top altcoin bags like ETH, BNB, EOS, LTC & XLM. if you say the loss may indeed be yes, but I haven't experienced any real losses, because I still hold Altcoin and haven't sold it. for example ETH is currently $ 187 and I bought $ 195, if my losses are calculated at $ 8. But I'm not too worried about that because I'm sure all of this will be beautiful in time. be patient and wait until the market improves again.

My biggest regret with bitcoin was the opportunity to change my life. Many of us earn and get rich because of bitcoin especially trading. But there are also unlucky ones and I'm one of those people. Because if I hadn't sold my hold of shitcoins then I would have earned 20 BTC before. But since I'm just a beginner to crypto and trading I sold it out of fear.

That's the right definition of losses. As long as you're on held with those coins that you have, you are not yet in losses. But once you have sold them during the bad market days, then guarantee yourself that you've just lost a lot.

I think that everyone's mistake are just the same.

I can remember that I listened to McAfees' twitter advices where he has announced a coin every day, during a week. Slightly after his tweet a coin gained 20-30 percents and went down within seconds, so I lost enough money, to stop doing this  ;D

My biggest mistake is that I don't store my password or wallet key properly. at that time I was a beginner and I was very careless not to record or store my wallet password correctly. so then I forgot and couldn't open my wallet. so that it is the same as losing my money. since that incident I always keep my wallet key on the computer and also on paper and flashdish. so if one day my computer has a problem I can still access my wallet from another computer.

I made a dumb mistakes way back 2017. Well I don't think I had to blame myself by that time. I wasn't yet knowledgeable when it comes to market fluctuations, bull run, and other stuff. What comes into my mind during 2017 is that marker will be all going out and would never stop at 20,000 USD. But after that it was just like a dust, got drop down and as well my btc which I suddenly buy because of the market changes.

I also read many fundamental news then in 2017 during the peak price of bitcoin that bitcoin would reach $50,000 the popular terminology then was HODL having the impression that bitcoin is would continue its bullish trending till the speculated price, I just hodl however the price nosedived thus dumped, out of panic and fear I sold I had learns a lesson.

I also tend to do the same thing in the past and that is the reason why I'm feeling remorse about it until now because I just lose the opportunity to earn huge profit, it makes me realize that if I just waited patiently then probably I was able to get the benefits that I wanted. Trading is indeed speculative, it takes a lot of your time and effort but you have to understand because it is the only way to earn. Also, making a decision while I am not in a proper mindset. I've to lose some money because I'm not making sure of things, I don't even conduct my own research that is why I ended up losing money or getting scammed.

I have had many negative stories pertaining cryptocurrency trading but one of the highest I can remember is a time when I sold BNB, a lot of BNB just so I could get into NEO, this was immediately after the bullrun in early 2018, I sold BNB and it started mooning badly, that was the period it hit it's 2018 ATH while the NEO I got into kept dipping and I had to just count my losses and exit at 30% loss, that turned out to be a good decision because if I had kept holding, I would have been at 90% loss now.

In that case, I would just give one piece of advice. Never ever take any decision in your life out of fear regardless of the domain. Fear brings failure. In order to become successful, you need to get rid of this word. Hesitation and fear are killers of progress and prosperity. There is no need to feel bad for your loss because the market still has a lot to offer. Try to increase your knowledge regarding bitcoin and trading.

The big mistake that I did happened in 2017 at the time when almost all crypto assets are pumping crazily. There was a week that I made 30k from one altcoin at once and instead of me to sell off, I did not do so and I later lost huge part of the fund. It is really a regretabble experience.

Of course, for all the time I have accumulated a lot of mistakes. I just didn't know how to determine the right time to invest and repeated the transactions to one of my friends, who runs a blog. But I didn't know about many nuances that my friend observed and therefore often lost money. That was my biggest mistake.
