Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has partnered with Bitcoin (BTC) rewards shopping app Lolli, enabling its shoppers to earn 5% back in Bitcoin. Alibaba customers can now get Satoshis (sats), the smallest unit of Bitcoin currency, worth 0.00000001 BTC, when shopping “thousands of items online,” Lolli says.

What's the effect of this news in the crypto world?

Is there any change that Alibaba will directly accept bitcoin one day?

"Lolli mobile app users in the US will get 5% back in bitcoin when buying items in Alibaba" - this is how I understood the article.

What's the effect of this news in the crypto world?
Many people loves to take advantage of "promos", "giveaways", and "cashbacks". US citizens who frequently shops at Alibaba might start familiarizing themselves with bitcoin to take avail of Lolli's offer.

Is there any change that Alibaba will directly accept bitcoin one day?
I don't know really. It's probably going to take more regulations before they start accepting btc's directly but this recent partnership might be a small step towards that.

What's the effect of this news in the crypto world?

Is there any change that Alibaba will directly accept bitcoin one day?
Ibig mo bang sabihin chance? May posibilidad yan.

It could be a stepping stone for one day that Alibaba will help increase market demand for Bitcoin.
And I appreciate how this big company takes a positive look towards bitcoin. Its something to think that many people would like to take this cashback and promo's opportunity.

If alibaba is directly accepting bitcoin for their product to buy it will have a huge impact on crypto especially bitcoin. Many will also be interested in bitcoin how bitcoin will be used to pay for the products they buy. Right now it's a little bit of alibaba steps but when they see that many people buy their product because of the Lolli App I'm sure Alibaba would consider accepting bitcoin as well.

Is there any change that Alibaba will directly accept bitcoin one day?

Pero if titimbangin natin it's non-sense pure marketing strategy lang ito. mas okay pa yung shop and earn point to get a chance to win 1BITCOIN.

This is just some kind of punch by Jack Ma and his company on the ongoing trade war China has against USA. Obviously hindi ganun kalaki ang 5% cashback kumpara sa ano man kayang ibigay ng Amazon with several discounts and promos they have and yung 5% cashback na ito ay parang ginagamit lang pang-engganyo ng mga customer para sa alibaba, iba din kasi ang type na pagka-ecommerce ng Alibaba more on wholesale sila kaya yung 5% na ito ay baka considerable when it comes to wholesaling. Another downside is of course most of the products in Alibaba are made in China kaya isa din ito sa mga dahilan kaya mahina pa ang Alibaba sa USA.

Somehow meron din itong slight impact lalo na at malaking merkado ang China, although kahit isa itong marketing strategy ng Alibaba to boost their sales but still a win-win situation.

I think they will and this move is one step closer.

The founder of Alibaba, said that cryptocurrency is a good thing, although hesitant to na ipromote sa mga tao dahil as per him it's likely a Bubble, which is we are all aware naman about dito kahit papaano, but, as per him then, it's okay na i-adopt ang technology regarding it dahil malaking tulong talaga to sa pagtakbo ng negosyo dahil hindi to madadaya ng kahit na sino man.

There are many e-commerce already that existed in crypto space yet some of them became scam, other also are in the process. If the people will use cryptocurrency in buying in online shopping, this will be the start of worldwide spread out of cryptocurrency. It really helps online shopping to become more popular when there is a blockchain that will be a transparent for users as well as producers. That is why, alibaba should also accept crypto soon.

It will definitely boost the awareness campaign of Bitcoin, this is also another strategic move of Alibaba to cater crypto enthusiast audience to be their customer.

Actually it is a wise move dahil hindi na need na maghire si Alibaba ng mga technical persons to implement Bitcoin payment.  Laking tipid ito and at the same time kikita pa sila ng walang nilalabas kahit na singko.  Imagine, million din ang gagastusin ng Alibaba if they implement this stuff on their own.

Quote
Alibaba Group representatives have since denied the “partnership” touted by Lolli CEO Alex Adelman. The fissure revealed a common misconception in the blockchain industry.

Sa tingin ko gagawa lang ng small hype sa market ngayon and In the long run hindi ito masyadong mararamdaman. As we know US customer lang ang makakatangap ng rebates galing sa alibaba. Most of alibaba sellers are chinese and it shows the acceptance of cryptocurrency from chinese people.

I hope na magka rebate din ang ibang countries like Philippines  kasi most of us pinoys are now fond of buying online and an option of cryptocurrency rebate can persuade people in our country to use it as a payment method.

Pero i-clarify natin yung percentage na icacashback nila satin, some might think na okay ang 5% but they are thinking 5% sa kabuuang ginastos nila. What they really mean 5% is this, So tulad ng alibaba na may partnership sa Lolli, If someone purchase with alibaba at merong merchant partner doon si Lolli dun lang magkakaroon ng participation with the two party, now talking about 5%, what you will get is 5% ng kinita ni alibaba from Lolli. Ginagawa lang ito ng mga company to promote the effectivity of using cryptocurrency.

Yes may chance na magaccept ang Alibaba ng bitcoin or any cryptocurrency since China is slowly supporting blockchain and planning to create their own coin.
