If BTC is able to reach the price of 100k, the people who hold BTC will become rich people suddenly. Altcoin will follow it and the world of cryptocurrency will stir the world and news about 100k Bitcoin will be loaded everywhere. But it takes a long time to achieve it and the market is controlled by whales, I as an amateur trader can only predict with technical analysis and fundamentals.

Why would the Altcoins dump to zero? On the contrary, btc will also shake the altcoins price.

How do you come up with the idea that altcoins will dump to zero when btc will rise to 100k? Almost all of the altcoins in the market will follow the trend of btc if you keep track on the market movements.
When btc reached the 100k level most of us will probably be selling our crypto assets and this of price is not possible for the next few years.

Of course, all people will be happy because they can make a lot of money. I am sure that at that time, people will sell all of their bitcoin or big amount of bitcoin but I am not sure if the price will stay at a price because if there are so many supplies at the market will make the price down. And if the price is down, no one will know until how deep the price will be down.

Altcoin will not dump to zero, especially for the altcoin, which has a strong community, and even, some altcoin will increase too and maybe, the price will make another highest price. We will not know what will happen if bitcoin reaches that price and what will happen with an altcoin.

I think that when the bitcoin reaches 100K, many altcoin prices will rise proportionally. In this way, especially long-term investors will make a profit. But I think it still needs a long time to make this happen.

pretty much the same thing that happened all the previous time when bitcoin had a big rise. in the beginning altcoins will get dumped hard as the traders that are already in the market would cash out to go back to bitcoin market. as the price grows and the hype grows a lot of newbies come in and the scammers seeing this would start creating a lot of new coins which they will sell to these newbies and pump them to the moon thousands of percentage.
then as bitcoin bubble bursts 80% of these coins disappear just like 2018 and the remaining 20% continue dumping.
then as bitcoin reaches the bottom and reverses like 2019 the altcoins continue duping as bitcoin rises back up.

this cycle has been repeating for more than 10 years now.

There is no way altcoin will go to zero because an altcoin is the shadow of Bitcoin itself even if some projects are dying out, nothing will change. Bitcoin is not scalable yet and altcoin can solve the problem temporary. cryptocurrency is not about speculation but some of them have a real utility, as long as it is used there is no way it will go to zero.

Far fetched, very far from what might happen if BTC touch 100k USD or more than that, well at that time if people have the interest to buy and the price is too expensive, they would definitely look for an alternative, just like what happened on the year of 2017, where all have gone crazy and most of the alts are pumped. Alts are somehow helping the crypto network alive and there would always be alts no mater what.

If it was delisted, then you are just holding for nothing.
Once a coin was delisted, there is no chance for you to sell it, also, its value will drop to zero since no one is willing to buy a coin that is not convertible to btc. It is not profitable anymore.

If Bitcoin market value increase from its current value to $100,000 then we should expect it will come with both positive and negative effect. Positive effect will be that holders will now have much money and there will more positive news in the mainstream media and possibly more demand for Bitcoin, many altcoins will have an increase in there market value as compared to what it is today. Negative effect could be that transaction fees will skyrocket just like what happened in the year 2017.

Not surprised again but i don't think that will happen. the dream will not come true. even though in the crypto world, everything is can be possible.

Before that happen from now on we should buying exchanges coins or token such as binance , huobi , kucoin and other good exchange. This exchange will be the destination inventors money beside bitcoin. When price naturally growth , total capitalization will increase alot. And it will improve exchange performance ,moreover from trading fee. Exchange will get alot fee when total capitalization increase. It means they will able to dari money and profit from exchange operational.

Then majority of Altcoins will die because obviously, smart investors are going to dump their altcoins and then move to bitcoin, simply as that. And those remaining altcoins are maybe in the top 10-50 coins, or least those who have real life usage.

The price of the tokens they hold are also going to rise.  If the token is just worth 3satoshi today, the value of it in USD right now could just be less than a cent but when BTC rise up to $100K 3 satoshi will also rise in USD could be worth $0.10. Its how it goes now think about it if you have about more than 10M of this token. BTC price go wildly up to $100k can also bring all up.

it's not that simple because loyal holders will take the opportunity to make their altcoins go up to a thousand times the initial position, and many new altcoins will take quick momentum to offer super attractive profits. around 1k coins will still survive due to the varied hype, especially for new people who have seen the price of bitcoin too high to buy.

Might be not that different from end of 2017, Alts will follow the uptrend. And that's what people are hoping for. But that means since the price is very high there's a possibilty that alts will suffer a bit of dumps. People will switch from alts to bitcoin. And it might take years before we see that, or, it could be just like 2017, where it took only around a month for bitcoin to reach its all time high.

Most of the people in this forum will wake up from a nice dream as I doubt this actually ever happen.

Now, it ever goes that high I guess most alt coins will start dumpinh like crazy and only the big ones (eos, eth, litecoin etc) will somewhat hold their price in USD, but definitely loose a LOT in their satoshi price. And sometime later, BTC will start dumping like crazy too.. much like what happened when it hit 20k ;)

it might be possible because of the hype of the bitcoin price hype, logically you say it's quite specific but we can't assume that altcoin can be as expected. There may be a few coins but not all of them can follow the trend if the BTC is priced

You made a right decision on choosing BTC but some crypto people wants to take the risk and bet with altcoins because they believe that altcoins still have potential to grow its value over time.

If bitcoin will hit on 100k I think many bitcoin holder will become an instant rich because all we know that in present situation bitcoin is in critical price level then quickly it will rise up to 100k? If we look the history it is not impossible because all we know that bitcoin is the most powerful and fast moving coin.

if BTC can reach the price of 100k maybe we will see the altcoin market grow again like in 2017. and especially are investors who have BTC, they are the first people who will get a big profit if BTC can reach that price.

Those who have acquired Bitcoin will be very pleased whilst the rest of us with little or no holdings will be crying, it's as simple as that. Altcoins will not die but they will be dumped for the BTC fomo at least for a while. I can't imagine what will happen but few possible scenarios already have drawn by the other forum members. The 100k dollar price for Bitcoin can change the attitude of crypto investors and they will run to the banks for withdrawing their "hard-earned" money. I do not think so. In order for shitcoins to move away from the market, situation must be poor, but, 100k USD is a huge. In this case the unnecessary altcoins will even reach a certain price. If their prices remain the same against Bitcoin, they will be affected 10x from its price increase.

If bitcoin can teach to $100K I think altcoin will come season to higher price and have moment back up for your lost with altcoin investing, looking with bitcoin price only $9K very hard can raise to $100K because is not small amount for bitcoin can raise up, need time for weak up to $100K for bitcoin and need ten years maybe.

BTC 100k, maybe it could happen because the crypto world is difficult to guess. Many whales manipulate the market. 100k high number, might need extraordinary FOMO. But for Altcoin dump to zero I don't think it's possible, depending on altcoin itself, for alt 100 100 at CMC I think it will survive and follow the trend of bitcoin.

Depending on BTC domination stats. It could happen that by running till 100k BTC can drop its dominance which would leave space for altcoins to raise. On the other hand, the dominance can raise till 80-90 percent, which would completely destroy altcoins.

I think that the price of 100k dollars is impossible for Bitcoin to hit. At least, for now. I think that you all saw what was happening in December 2017, and BTC hardly reached the score close to 20K and then fell. And after it started to fall, reached its bottom and placed such a position for quite a long period.

Do alts dump to zero?  what reason do you assume that?  whereas in recent times the fantastic price increase from BTC has given positive results to the promising altcoin.

BTC will definitely grow and move high, but it cannot tough the price of 100k. It will take so much time before it can reach that and if it does, a lot of coins will be affective. Although, there are certain alts that will remain and still be able to maintain their values. The advent of other alts might even propel and hasten the process.

It all depends on how fast the rise is. If it's parabolic then i can't see alts handling combat against btc pairs very well. I don't think that there is a community so religious towards their own tech that they would only have strong hands when the btc train goes insane.

In my own view and opinion altcoins is important part of crypto currency I didn't believe their price diwn to zero, is useless if bitcoin uprise tehir price at 100$ in the market but we can't trade it into the other coins or tokens. So much better bitcoin stay at price at 20k usd than to reach 100$ usd but its not worth it to trade into other altcoins. Do not offend if that happen come its all useless.

altcoin so far is also needed to be an alternative if someone does not use BTC to become a payment.
some people will also choose altcoin to be an investment if they don't want BTC, and as long as these two reasons are still present, ALTS will continue to exist and prices will rise over time.

Well if bitcoin touched in 2021 100k$ then for sure good altcoins will follow the price jump and they will make a new ATH too and I'm talking about good altcoins not those who don't have a team, a working product and a solid roadmap that have been completed more than 70%. The rest of the altcoins will go abolish with almost zero chances to recover so your statement its kinda incorrect on altcoins going to zero.

If this happens because of massive adoption and not because of certain organization behind it like the big whales and exchanges then there is a big chance that the alts will grow also.

If bitcoin touches $ 100k, surely this will make the crypto world more uproar and crowded people flock to buy it. In my own personal opinion, if bitcoin reaches it's price to $100k there possibilities that only few coins will survive because bitcoin will be dominant. Top altcoins like ETH, BCH, LTC, XRP, BNB and etc will also increased it's price because investors will not only focus in bitcoin that they will split their funds to earned more income.

That's a sweet event if ever btc hits $100k. I'm prettt sure many will wanted to buy btc again due to hype since last ATH many people become interested in btc cause the news have got it everywhere. Altcoin price will soar too if the btc increase though some will probably died out too those projects that arent good and no market cap.

The dependence of the altcoins shows us how to use the price movement of BTC for trading altcoins. The illiquid altcoin markets will not react to $100k BTC price from my trading experience but the markets are not 100% rational.

This is true Bitcoin is the backbone of digital coin market. It has laid the foundation of crypto currencies and indeed is the first digital asset created ever. altcoins just copied it in terms of concept. All the altcoins depend on bitcoin one way or the other. Whenever bitcoin gains some value, the rates of alternative coins also increase. If bitcoin will touch 100k dollars or any other big number and that it will, altcoins will pump too.

Exactly, it is so sad that OP doesn't have any common sense to answer his FUD question, I mean like, if bitcoin will really hit that price, time to celebrate and wait 'till it is time for the Altcoins also to rise up on their bed to do some workout and ride the bull.

Are you so optimistic that BTC will touch $100k in the near future? I don't think so. That still requires more time to touch that point. And I never thought that altcoins would die. Altcoins will still fly together with Bitcoin. We will see the public enthusiasm with cryptocurrency soon. Bitcoin will be a driving force for others because it sees it as number 1 here as a piooner, but besides that the top altcoins project also has their ace by offering various implementation of blockchain technology to various fields and creating a new solution for us. Eventually people will also realize that the crypto world is vast. So, your opinion is totally wrong about this.

First thing first, if Bitcoin reaches 100K there will be SOME Altcoins that will as well increase. Alts made out from fork meaning they have been created from the scraps of bitcoin from imagery of it. Although if it reaches at the certain time, it will eventually fall from its place. It is not that in certain price forever, so, maybe the following weeks or months it will eventually fall. On the other hand 100k is a big thing mate. It will be a hard time for bitcoin to reached that.

Do not expect things to go same way like in 2017, if bitcoin manages to surge up to 100k only altcoins with very demanding interest will skyrocket, do not expect to make profit from shitcoins

100k for BTC is not an easy task. Also its not going to happen fortnight. We have to wait for years before even we see 25-30K. Ofcourse, people will be happy to see that happening.

I am not expecting bitcoin to make a sudden 100k pump. But if it happens that fast, ALTs will definitely get crushed. Even top altcoins cannot hold itself if a 2017sh bitcoin pump happens again. I hope it happens again. I will not hesitate to dump my altcoins this time.

Using 2017 as example when btc attained it all time high of $20k, what happened to alts? The good alts all attained a new all time high and dead project disappeared.  So in response to your question, what will happen of btc touches $100k? That means we are all going to be smiling because alts too will be carried along.

I think that everything will synchronously raise! if btc will be 100k, eth and all altcoins will raise too, winter 2017 will back - all green

Alts do not go to zero, what people really forget is that when bitcoin price goes 50% higher and ethereum price goes only %10 that is still a profit in dollar terms. So, that is why altcoins don't have to go to zero when bitcoin goes up, sure it could go down in bitcoin but if bitcoins dollar price goes up and altcoins bitcoin price drops down less that equals to altcoins price going up faster.

In the end there is really not that much to do when you are left with a choice of biggest coin going 10x up and your altcoin dumping, if bitcoin reaching to $100k is only going to happen if my altcoins goes to zero I will take that because bitcoin going up could recover all my losses from my altcoins and put some profit on top of that as well, lets hope it does really happen.

a few years ago I often heard a lot of people say altcoin became a real 0 until now alt was still bought by many people.

In my own personal opinion, if bitcoin reaches it's price to 100K USD there is a huge possibility that almost everyone in the world is using and investing their money in bitcoin. I don't think altcoins will drop it's price to zero because there are still people like me who will split the half of their money in altcoins that has a good value.

all people always dream of that moment  .  altcoins ? i think they wont going to dump but i think they can also pumped because people will usually buy alts after they sell thier btc at a higher value  .

Alts will never go to 0 that's one thing. Even scam coins like bitconnect are not worth 0 so a valid altcoin like ETH will never drop down like that.

Some altcoins follow bitcoin's price. You can see it on coinmarketcap when you go to the list of coins. One of such followers is BCH that always pumps alongside BItcoin and it will not go to 0 when Bitcoin goes to 100k.

I think if Bitcoin will touch the $100k, it will be scary for the team of each altcoins, imagine people will trust more Bitcoin as they have seen the great potential of it, so the scariest thing that will happen for this is that  they will give up all their coins and will just hold Bitcoin in long term. Anyway, touching $100k is far from the reality now, it may take a lot of years before it will happen.

This is physically impossible. Show me a coin that went to 0. Even coins with 0 volume don't have 0 value, but stay at the value they were last.
It's a general rule that all holders will never sell a coin unless the number of holders is extremely low.
I believe altcoins will grow along with bitcoin as this is another general rule of cryptocurrencies that people who made money on the main pump, investing in the leading coin, or one of the leading coins, will diversify with some of their profits.

Hypothetical it is possible but I don't see that happening but in unlikely event that it does I will regret tyst I did not buy bitcoin whole the price was still low

I think the main Altcoins will get a good impact from this appreciation, but it's easy to say that most of today's underappreciated projects will never recover.

Most of altcoin holders are very disappointed with bearish market that is like this for months and months now but i think it is time that we should be patient and keep hodling because i think the market is going to follow similar pattern of bull run like it did the last cycle where btc peaked first, then eth and finally the alts.

Bitcoin going to $100 that must be the joke of the millennium but then anything is possible . From it's modest beginning nobody could have predicted that it could come this far in terms of pricing. So $100k should equally be expected

With Bitcoin valued at $100k, Altcoins will have more dominance than Btc at this price. The market of altcoin is stabilising against bitcoin market looking at the recent charts of last month. Bitcoin and altcoin market will rally at the same time to make a new bull season Bitcoin alone can't have a rally.

$100k looks like an impossible milestone but I think nothing is impossible in this ecosystem
