Litecoin being considering by many as "Silver" to Bitcoin's "Gold", hasn't experienced much gains lately. With a total supply of only 84 million coins, and a halving every 4 years, it's likely that Litecoin will have a much higher price than now within the future. Litecoin's biggest advantage over Bitcoin, is that it's much faster and cheaper for everyday transactions. It has many of Bitcoin's goodies like SegWit and Lightning Network, so there's a chance that it'll become extremely valuable within a couple of years from now. I'm going for $1,000 per coin in just 5 to 10 years from now, as it's a more realistic target for LTC.

Do you think LTC will ever reach $1,000 in just a few years from now, or will it take some time? What are your thoughts? ???

I think that it will take some time now. Before, I'm very optimistic about Litecoin but due to some unprecedented changes from the top of its developers up to now. Everyone expected that the halving will bring it into fruition.

But I guess, we're too quick enough to speculate but still hoping for that positive effect of it.

A lot can happen in 5 to 10 years, heck, even with Bitcoin. Bitcoin could be gone in 5 to 10 years, although it is just a remote possibility because more good news is going for it. While Litecoin hasn't really made any meaningful upgrades or updates. Its developers are not well-known like Ethereum or Bitcoin. Maybe in five years, Litecoin could be forgotten.

i totally agree with this man, i have also been quite positive about LTC lately. i have been buying my ass off any chance i can get since it went under 80
i think its only gotten stronger since Charlie lee stepped back too
The only thing with LTC is just it's PoW, new tech could come at anytime, or some sort of asicboost for LTC, and we could see alot more miner sell pressure :(

That's certainly true, mate. Even if LTC's developers are not well-known like those working on Ethereum or Bitcoin, they have done a great job of maintaining the project. Litecoin's founder (Charlie Lee) is still active on the crypto community after all these years. This may be an indication that the cryptocurrency will survive for many years to come. While prices are quite low these days (compared to 2017's ATH of $375.29 per coin), Litecoin could experience an upsurge in price within its next halving. Additionally, the next crypto bull market will positively affect not only Litecoin but other cryptocurrencies too.

The target price of $1,000 may seem far from becoming a reality anytime soon as LTC is still hovering within the $55 - $60 range. But in this uncertain world of crypto, anything could happen. If you take a deep look at Litecoin's developments, you'll notice that it greatly resembles Bitcoin in every way. I believe that Litecoin serves as an "experimental grounds" for testing out new features on the BTC blockchain. With Mimblewimble coming soon within LTC, I believe that there will be "FOMO" across people in the mainstream world, resulting in higher prices over the long term.

Nonetheless, it may take a while before we could experience $1,000 per Litecoin across the crypto market. I think it's best to accumulate LTC while it's below $100, to cash out within the next bull market. Aside from profits, Litecoin has been performing well as a cryptocurrency for censorship-resistant payments after all these years. Just my thoughts ;D

Well, if it is at least 5 years from now, it is very possible. But if you say that Litecoin will reach $1,000 in a couple of years from now, I cannot say that it is going to happen. Litecoin is less than a hundred USD as of now. The year will hopefully end with Litecoin hitting $150 or $200. So probably it will reach around $500 in the following year and the next year will have Litecoin reach around $700 or $800.

I believe that litecoin is a form of bitcoin perpection. I haven't found if there is an altcoin which has a halving event except litecoin.

From the all time high that had been reached at 2017 ago its price almost reach $400. So, I'll predict that litecoin is able to reach $1000 but I don't know when it comes.

that can happen if bitcoin is flying high, maybe if bitcoin can reach 50k within 5 years, ltc can at the price of 1k. because all the anomalies on the crypto market are caused by bitcoin, like ATH a few years ago, or the market crash last year, all caused by bitcoin. so just hope that bitcoin doesn't fall again for the next few years. If it comes true it's not just ltc but all altcoin will rise from the dead.

That used to be the case up until about 2015 or so, perhaps a bit later, but it's not really true anymore.  Bitcoin is still the 'gold' but other coins like Eth and a couple of others have kind of taken the place of that 'silver'.

Litecoin more or less tracks the price of bitcoin, so unless bitcoin goes to $100,000 or thereabouts I wouldn't think ltc would go to $1000 on its own.  It's possible there could be a pump by investors with a lot of money, but if that were the case the price wouldn't stay that high that long.  I don't dislike ltc as a coin, and it actually does have merchants that accept it...but it's not my kind of coin as far as investment goes.

Litecoin is a copy and paste of Bitcoin with a couple variables changed, and don't expect too much for a bitcoin testnet. It doesn’t do anything unique to separate itself from the thousands of other crypto, this is why it has to spend money on advertising rather than development. It’s not the fastest, it’s not the cheapest, it doesn’t scale, it has the exact same problems as BTC. Overall there is nothing protecting it from being replaced.

I think Litecoin needs to once and for all die off because it serves absolutely no purpose. this is coming from someone that supported it for a while, but not anymore. furthermore the whales hugely inflate it's market, so until it breaks $200-$300 again I would be hesitant to buy or HODL. maybe you lose a few dollars but way better than buying or HODLing now. i am still very pessimistic long-term. be careful of sudden changes in trends by a few people with a lot of chips like the late one, Charlie Lee.

Many people are pessimistic lately about altcoins, including Litecoin for now investors are increasingly forgotten. But I still believe

We don't know, if there are bull run starting in 2020 then possible that it can reach 4 digit as the OP suggested. Just look at bitcoin, who would have thought that it can reach as high as $20k in 2017? The highest that I saw early in 2017's prediction is $5k, but we all know that happen next.

The thing with Litecoin is that gamblers are still using it, similar to Doge. Because transaction is very quick and fees are not that high. So there's still a bright future for this coin, maybe down 5-10 years as others have suggested.

It is not about being a "silver" to Bitcoin "gold" but it is all about adoption, regulation, and utility. a lot of things can happen in 5 years or even 10 years, as long as it is accepted by public and can be used legally in real life, not to mention $1,000 even $10,000 is possible for litecoin to reach. but again, will people and the government support it in the future?
for now, I do not see we are going anywhere near that. it needs time to grow and nobody knows when will this going to happen.

LTC's heydays are over, and even though it still provides significant utility in facilitating cheap transactions and segwit integration, it no longer has the demand from the market like it used to - especially without smart contracts.

It seems very unlikely that it'll be able to climb in value so drastically, unless the entire crypto market sees a pump like 2017.

I also entered but actually before it reached $80, so I was very happy when $300 came. I still held on because I wanted it to be $500 and I still have hopes now, more than disappointment since I would never have sold anyway.

I still add every now and then, but not buying my ass off. Bitcoin will always be the big choice, no matter how much I actually do like LTC;)

In my opinion, this coin must first return to the uptrend as soon as possible and must wait for LTC to return to the highest price it has ever reached in the past. It is difficult to talk about the future of Litecoin but the possibility of reaching $1,000 is very low and should not be optimistic early during this period. Of course we have the right to hope but it is best to only predict when this coin starts to rise again.

Well you lose your possible profit on the past volatility since there so many upside down happened and provably there are so many people earned with it but I cannot blame you to uphold since maybe you are at lose if I'm not wrong if you sale it these days. Maybe in future if good things maybe we can see it reach to 300$ up to 1000$ each .

And also better to ride on with ETH since the probability to get profit is still high and the price is so cheap these days.

It is not easy to predict the price of LTC in the next bullrun but highly unlikely it will hit the ATH. The market patterns repeat we can observe this on the different altcoin charts included LTC. There is smelling of potential altcoin season in the crypto markets, Litecoin can only aim to climb $1000 under the bull market conditions. IMO, the first reaching the $200 price level is the first entrance for tracking to the mentioned price levels.

If you're going to give it 5-10 years to hit that price, then it is certainly possible. I think even during the next bull run, we'll probably see a good $300-$400 LTC price again. If you were to give it two different bull runs in the next 10 years, then LTC could easily be worth more than $1,000. It really just depends on where the price settles after the next bull run.

Possibly? Maybe in 5 years or a couple of years since everything in crypto sphere is possible the more people start to adopt Bitcoin they start to adopt the altcoins too. But looking at the Litecoin's current price right now makes me think that Litecoin have a way more time needed before it could actually reach that $1,000 just like how Bitcoin grow in the past.

I think all of this depends on the development of bitcoin. if in the next 5 years bitcoin is good enough, I think Litecoin has the opportunity to achieve that. $1k in 5/10 years, this is indeed a realistic target because ethereum has done it too. so I think Litecoin also has the same opportunity. I see these two coins have almost the same development, so hopefully it can come true.

I expect the best thing to happen to LTC, in fact, I expect a price more than that. however,  reaching the price of $ 1000 requires quite a long time if you measure it from the current LTC price. Halving from Litecoin just happened some time ago which changed the block reward to 12.5. but some people are wondering about the not-so-high price development. however, the highest price LTC has ever achieved was $ 375 in December 2017. I think that the price of $ 1000 can be achieved if the LTC returns past its ATH.

That price you've been talking was so hard to meet, and I better choose to pick eth by now since it was getting too much potential while having cheap price. Also, the price haven't loss that much although bitcoin price lately down turned at $8400 which is good to see, because every time btc drops; it's really affecting huge percentage on most of the following currencies.
This has stabilized today, hopefully on the coming days or the holiday season this December we will be able to experience awesome price increase on our holdings; it could be ltc,eth and other popular coins next to btc.

LTC has the potential to reach this price, but I do not know how much time is needed. Before that, ETH needs to reach the same price, which is still changing below $200. The important factor in this regard is BTC. Its increase in the coming years will cause the market to formally favorable prices. At that time, everyone will be more positive about the market and fearlessly divide their investment among other altcoins.

When you say that everything is possible in crypto it means two things for Litecoin. It could go high or it could go down. It does not mean that if people will adopt Bitcoin they will also adopt Litecoin. That is the wrong. And the numbers are showing that. If that is correct, Bitcoin dominance should not have risen very high despite the fact that outside Bitcoin there are thousands of altcoins.

LTC growth is slow but it never experienced a sudden drops like other alts, which means the growth is stable and the demands is never drops because LTC on the recent years never had a bad news so people are trust on storing or investing their money to LTC. The performance of this coins is also good, in terms of speed of transaction between exchanges and also it has low fees make LTC will survive in crypto for 10 years or more

No, I think it's impossible. Although the business has existed for a long time, more than 7 years but I do not believe it happened. The crypto market is just a market for the rich to launder money and indeed businesses do not have such high growth potential. because it has not brought too many benefits to society up to now.

It could happen in the next few years. But right now, we should satisfy to buy and sell litecoin at a price now, and if you want to prepare for the future, then you should buy as many litecoin as from now on so when the price reaches $1,000, you can sell it at that price. With the price now at $57, I think litecoin price will slowly increase as litecoin price will always follow bitcoin price.

We need to give time for litecoin, and when the right time comes for litecoin, we will be going to see the price will hit the very highest price. And $1,000 will be hit at that time. I think it will need more time, we can look at the previous halving it didn't make significant changes on it's price and the halving of LTC is held every 4 years which means the next halving is 4 years more. Well most of the time halving have a slow production effect just like the halving of bitcoin because it will take too much time before the price starts to move. So basically we will have to wait more time for litecoin to reach that $1,000 price. I just wondered if bitcoin could reach the $50,000 price maybe litecoin will have a closer gap to that $1,000 price.

When there is hype there is a lot of stupid money, that dont even know what is buying. Everything that will be on exchanges will pump then. Litecoin is on many exchanges. on few 1000 ATMs. I give more then 40% we will see Litecoin at $1000 at some point of time.

I believe it is the matter of the market. If we would finally see anther bullish trend, it can take several days for LTC to make it to 1000 USD per coin. However, it can happen that even in 2025 LTC would cost less than 50 bucks.

5 years from now I think is not a long time, but if the progress of crypto is faster than expected, maybe the achievement for that value will be faster. No one knows for sure about what growth will occur in the industry in the future because at least there will be another surprise at any time, and when seeing developments that occur so far it is very likely that the value will be achieved by LTC because indeed, Litecoin has many advantages which should be the main focus in the future growth of crypto.

Litecoin has 84,000,000 LTC max coin supply. When you know there will be limited amount of coins and in the case litecoin becomes globally accepted demand can skyrocket and that can mean even higher prices then 1000 dollars. Litecoin is a good coin, I like it, they are here for years and I believe that litecoin have a huge potential, we will see will they be able to achieve that and when.

Possible we know litecoins are one of the most popular coins potentially grow up their price and also also of people continue to support litecoun aside from ethereum that believe time has come for altcoins to begun into the expensive value.

I am not rejecting the fact that Litecoin can get to those valuation in he future as the technical development team is active and coming up with new changes and implementation to make the coin better and hence i might not be surprised if it crosses $1k and i will be offloading majority of the coin if that rally happens  ;) and recently they are planning to implement privacy factors and if that happens it will be great in this day and age.

I am just comparing the two coins and besides people will have the right to choose their coins to invest and litecoin might be one of them because it belongs in the top 10 coins. And also Bitcoin is like the main crypto of them all because most of the time these coins price are following the trend of Bitcoin.

Theres a big support from the community to LTC and that is because of being a good altcoins. The halving and the update for LTC this year will make a big impact on their whole system in the future, the price of $1000.00 will be hit in time and when the big bull run begins, same with other coins new ATH will be made respectively so watch out for LTC next year.

It is unlikely the coin will reach this price in the future due to the fact that Litecoin's development team has been inactive for more than a year and there are not many new updates for investors. I think you should be more realistic and should only predict from $100to $200 because this is the price Litecoin can reach. I personally do not believe in other people predictions but if the market starts an uptrend then anything can happen.

This might happen in the next 5 years, but before that the first ATH LTC only touched the price of $323 with the price of BTC at ATH $20K.

At some point of time will not be next year or 2020. That is somehow clear to me as of now. I give 100%, not 40%, that Litecoin is going to break that $1,000 price in the future. I don't know when exactly but it will happen. 2021 could be the time for that juicy 3-digit price for Litecoin. Not impossible, right? Especially when you know that the coin is good and its ATH is already almost $400.

If you asked me some years ago that litecoin at its peak would touch 350 $, even it was just for a few seconds,  I would call you crazy!

Heck, even it's current price of about 60 $ seems too good to be true! So yeah, although I think it's highly unlike it will ever reach 1,000 $ per coin, I wouldn't bet my dick on it  :) With crypto adoption getting bigger and bigger nothing will surpise me!

i must admit that i trust Litecoin back in 2018 when before the halving happens this year but i see no progress means it fails my expectations.

now i only hold few LTC but i dont lose hope that this bitcoin halving all altcoins(aside from shitcoins) will bring us all enough profit to recover from the losses since 2018 holds the Bear for long time.

Hopefully, that will no need to wait for the next 5 years, because if bitcoin price can increase in the next year or 2021, then litecoin will have a chance to increase too. $323 is the highest price of litecoin so far and I am sure that litecoin can reach more than that price but we need to be patient until that time comes. Meanwhile, we can buy litecoin again right now as the price is less than $100 so we can prepare to sell litecoin at the highest price again.

It's not impossible, if ETH reached more than $1,000 then probably Litecoin has a chance.
This coin is one of the oldest coin in the market that are still being invested by the people, so eventually it will if it will remain strong despite of the market struggles.

Litecoin's ATH was around $370, so its not far to reach $1,000 but it should depend on the overall market situation as its development alone would not bring the price to that level if the entire market is still bad.

Like you say, if the market starts some uptrend anything can happen, I agree with that part, and if we know that anything can happen we can be optimistic about some coins and their potentially great future.

84 millions is max LTC supply, it needs more than 100 years to reach max supply.

If the market becomes really bullish and bitcoin takes out its old highs of $20K before or after the May, 2020 halving event, litecoin will be very likely to breakout above its old highs around $400.  $1000 is not too high a target since Ethereum--despite its higher coin supply--jumped to $1400 in 2018.

It is not too high a target for Litecoin but it will take more than a year or two probably. Litecoin is doubtless a good alternative coin, no wonder why it is considered the Silver of Bitcoin's Gold. But it is still highly dependent on the overall market performance. If the market will be bleeding then Litecoin cannot grow in the pace that the people are expecting. A safe way to make sure that you have your LTC by the time $1,000 arrives is to HODL them long term.

I think the most important thing is the value of Bitcoin because if this coin goes up, then all the coins will start to follow or exceed price have reached in the past. In my opinion, with what is happening in this market, we should expect more and Litecoin can fully reach $500 in the near future. Now still quite far from reality but this market has a lot of surprises.

Personally, I only invest when everything is clear and based on analysis to draw a final conclusion. Of course, risk in investment is possible but someday the crypto market will be the most powerful financial market on the planet.

Litecoin growing is hard to see on next year, Because current status is just 56 USD only so no one is decide the 400 USD on next uptrend. That's certainly true, mate. Litecoin is not how it used to be within crypto's early days. Now it's just a pump-and-dump coin than anything else. While it works as an experimental grounds for Bitcoin to test out new features, it's not quite as useful as it used to be. There are now zillions of altcoins that are much faster and cheaper than Litecoin itself. Even Ethereum has been superior than Litecoin in every way. I guess the only thing that has kept Litecoin alive is its branding recognition. After all, Litecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies in existence. It has a tried and tested blockchain ledger just like Bitcoin. Compared with other alts, Litecoin is much more secure and decentralized.

As of now, each Litecoin is worth less than $100. The goal of $1,000 per coin may take longer than usual to reach, if Litecoin remains like this. There needs to be massive demand into the cryptocurrency to drive its price to the moon. The only way for Litecoin to reach such astronomical levels in price is if Bitcoin experiences new gains across the crypto market. The next bull run, would benefit not only Bitcoin itself but other altcoins as well (including Litecoin). Someday, we'll get to see the true value of Litecoin as the crypto industry evolves over time. With stable market prices, and an ample regulatory framework for Blockchain technology, Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies would remain stable in price for the foreseeable future.

Nonetheless, it's hoped that the next block halving would increase LTC's price by a small margin. All the eyes are on Bitcoin, as once it increases in price, other altcoins will follow. Time will tell us if within a couple of years from now, LTC will reach at least $1,000 per coin or not. Just my opinion :)

Maybe this would be happen if there are no new altcoin that will be born in the future, crypto projects are born almost every day and i'm sure in 5-10 years interval there must be some of those project that will be booming and many people hunt for it. So, old altcoins has lower chance to stand still and survive in the future

That's certainly true, mate. Most people look for the newest projects in the crypto space, leaving old ones in the dust. But I believe that won't be the case with Litecoin, since it's a largely respected cryptocurrency within the Blockchain industry. Being close to Bitcoin in terms of development, has allowed it to survive for quite some time. In my eyes, Litecoin is a unique cryptocurrency that serves as experimental grounds for testing out new features for the BTC blockchain. People can use newly proposed features for the BTC blockchain right into Litecoin before they're implemented within the pioneer cryptocurrency.

As of now, prices are gradually increasing but still far from 2017's ATHs. If Litecoin remains below the $100 range, it may take quite some time before it'll be able to reach $1,000 across the crypto market. Of course, 5 to 10 years from now is a lot of time for the Blockchain space to improve for the better. Perhaps, Litecoin could experience a massive upsurge in price with the adoption of Mimblewimble and certain other goodies. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Bitcoin first, as it's the true indicator of crypto's market prices these days. After the next bull market, we could see positive gains for LTC. Litecoin was expected to experience a big growth this year based on the halving. To this no big growth took place, and price fell low. Truly Litecoin is much of a potential asset that gives assured profit, but this can't be predicted to happen at the time we expect. When Litecoin reached above $300, Litecoin's founder termed it a big success. This means they are more happy with the progress which keeps them forward on growth.

Indeed, the halving event is expected to boost people's demand for litecoin but this event doesn't seem to be very well received by everyone, more precisely, the accumulation process is not big enough while the dumping process is stronger when many people in the past have bought litecoin at high prices but right now, the price of litecoin makes them so much disappointed, missing out on so many other opportunities in the market. Litecoin may be judged as potential but its age is over, it is no longer a very special product, $1000 is probably the price it never reached.

There is no big news upcoming for Litecoin anymore. Even  Charlie Lee already dump all his holdings and halving didn't lift the price. A 200$ price is only posssible the price of BTC pump back to all time high again. This is the only hope of all altcoins that already established and out of gas for news to boost again the price.

If we look at the current price of Litecoin under $ 100 it is impossible to reach $ 1000 in a few years, from a technical point of view there are no indicators that indicate that it can reach that price. also from a fundamental point of view there is no news that can push that price. I agree with you. There is not much outstanding information about this coin and Litecoin development team has been very inactive recently so this coin is only good when the market starts to rise. Currently, people should only predict the value of Litecoin from $100 to $200 because it is a price that can be reached if the investment needs increase and surely $1,000 will never happen if the market maintains the downtrend.

LTC is one of the favorite coins in the market, its been surviving through the test so definitely I will have to believe that it will rise more once the the market gets better. LTC is only valued at $48 now, but its not impossible in crypto for a coin to rise 100 times or more, so for sure in in years to come, we can expect that LTC will be valued at $1,000.

I personally doubt that, if the price of ethereum is discussed I can be very sure it can happen but can Litecoin be able to reach 1000$ in a few years? I don't feel so sure. If there really is an increase, my predict the highest price range is only around 500$. this case if the price of bitcoin does not touch the price of 20k usd, because if the price of bitcoin soars surely all doubts will turn out to be unexpected.

It is a expectation that the alt coin market will rise along the bitcoin market or after the rally in bitcoin will end the alt coin market rallies, we have seen that in the past but how sure we can be this time around is a big question, i like litecoin and i have a few coins because i used to mine and i am yet to sell majority of the top coins and i am also expecting a rally to clear everything and i am sure majority will be thinking the same. :D

Litecoin looks like an already abandoned project, no update from the team other than the last time they came up with their halving that made no single effect on the coin, and this should have already sent enough signals to you that the general community is no longer interested in having this coin again for any use as there are other better technology that has already reason and caught the attention of people more than the one of Litecoin, but as a believer you are, you can still give devs benefit of doubt and give then another chance to prove themselves to you anyway.

Honestly, I am also holding few litecoins since 2014. It would be good if any coin will be doing good because that will influence other coins too which will trigger entire altcoin bullish rally. But, without another good season for all the altcoins, I am afraid litecoins cannot recover from their recent downfalls.

Usd valuations for any coin other than bitcoin is trivial.  It is mostly dependent on how bitcoin goes.  If bitcoin goes to $1,000 you can only guess how hard it would be for litecoin to get to 1k.  But if bitcoin goes to $500,000 it might be fairly easy to get to $1k.  I'm more interested in altcoin prices in terms of sats and where it will be in the future.

From a technical point of view, I think that the only indicator that would lead towards a short term increase in price would be the adoption of Mimblewimble. If Litecoin adopts this privacy solution, then it'll distinguish itself from Bitcoin in every way. Still though, the main trigger of Litecoin's prices is Bitcoin's prominence within the crypto market. Whenever there's a bull market, you see that Bitcoin increases exponentially in price while other altcoins follow. One of those altcoins is Litecoin which follows very closely Bitcoin's movement across the crypto market. With enough demand (and each block halving event), we'll be able to see Litecoin get past $100 soon. After that, Litecoin may reach $500 until it gradually increases towards the $1000 range across the crypto market.

Despite this, one cannot hide the fact that these are just predictions. Anything could happen with Litecoin, as crypto is known to behave in strange and bizarre ways. As long as Bitcoin is valued over $100k per coin, then we could talk about Litecoin going towards "infinity and beyond". Honestly, Litecoin has been around so long, I don't think you'll ever really see any new updates come out. Everyone that uses it is already in on the project. What would you like to see them do exactly? It was made as a much quicker and cheaper version of Bitcoin. For that, It has served it's purpose. Sure, new coins will come out and end up overtaking it, but I don't think you can really claim it dead. Too many people use it and too many services rely on it.

There must be good reasons why Litecoin has stayed in the top ten coins list for a long time. It is a well established project with a nice dev team and big community so will follow bitcoin up in coming years.

That's right I'm looking forward to Litecoin to get a high value because of halving and I prefer using it than bitcoin because it only has low fees but faster transaction than bitcoin. The only thing is that you need to wait so it's not easy because patience is a must investing in LTC.

There's a possibility it will, I have one case study here where I  sometimes withdraw my earnings from Yobit campaign by trading my Bitcoin I've earned to Litecoin because of the withdrawal fee comparison, Bitcoin's withdrawal fee is $9.13 in Bitcoin compared to litecoin which is only 0.20 same amount that you want to withdraw.

No, I don't think Litecoin price would hit 1K USD, it depends on market condition and of course Bitcoin price fact here! What if bitcoin price goes down again in 2012-2022? Litecoin at 1000 USD means Bitcoin price would be 60-70K USD, which is not possible in the next 5 years! So, Litecoin has zero possibility to hit 1000 USD in the next 5 years!

I am also very optimistic about these coins. I think there is a possibility that it could actually reach $1,000 in 4-5 years. But on the other side, it hasn't made any good news yet but still a top tier coin deserving it's spot on the top 5 coins. And if ever it gets lower than it's current price, I'll surely invest in it more.

Bitcoin can easily reach such figures, but no one can guarantee you what Litecoin will be doing. IMHO, Litecoin doesn't rock any features that other altcoins don't, which isn't a good position to be in.

This will certainly not be possible. because Litecoin is actually having a pretty bad future when its price is continuously falling compared to other alts. it is slowly losing its top 5 position and if it continues like this it will soon face leaving the top 10 and going bankrupt.

That's certainly true, mate. Compared to other altcoins, Litecoin would be more of the same. In its early days, Litecoin had the best technology around (scrypt PoW, and faster block times). Now that there are numerous altcoins with superior features than Litecoin, there's no reason for people to invest in it. Still though, what only saves Litecoin is its limited supply. With only 84 million coins that will ever be mined, Litecoin could position itself next to Bitcoin in the upcoming years. But for that to happen, there needs to be demand for it across the crypto market. A cryptocurrency can be scarce in supply, but if there's no demand, prices will remain low.

I see Litecoin as the perfect complement for Bitcoin since it tests out new features before its implemented on the main Bitcoin blockchain. For instance, Litecoin was one of the first (if not the first) cryptocurrencies to adopt SegWit before Bitcoin did. Once it was proven that SegWit was widely successful in Litecoin, developers had the "green light" to adopt it within Bitcoin itself. We are always open to different possibilities because only time can tell what can literally happen in the future. Just make believe and keep into holding on your thoughts just to hype up the perseverance of holding into Litecoin. Any altcoins are really that promising due to the fact that every coin within the market do have their own unique characteristic compared to other existing coins and do play a role depending on the point of view of the owner. Maybe it may take a couple of days, weeks, months or even a year or a couple of time before we can witness the hype of Litecoin so just stick into and you would know what really awaits you in the future. If we said couple, minimum of two years and I don't think it may increase by next year 2010 in which the recovery of market may take too long. There needs to be a massive upsurge in price like it happened back in 2017. Litecoin is still under $100, which has a long way to get past $1,000 anytime soon. Without demand, I don't see LTC being an extremely valuable cryptocurrency. Maybe new features like Mimblewimble would increase demand for LTC, as people gain the sentiment of "FOMO". There's a possibility that Bitcoin's next halving would emigrate some miners off LTC right into BTC. This is because prices have been relatively low over the past months. The recent LTC halving didn't have a positive effect on its price whatsoever. Agree with you that $ 1000 is too high compared to LTC, it is difficult for LTC to reach that price. It is also very difficult for the pumping market to be the same as in 2017.

it does look too high for LTC, especially what happens after halving is also not so big an impact on LTC prices. now it should focus on improving the LTC market and how demand can increase. if market demand increases and reduced market inventory should be still high. but that hasn't happened yet, we have to wait for a good moment to increase market demand.

Today, I saw a thread in altcoin discussion, where a guy said that LTC can easily reach 1500 bucks till the end of 2019 ;D LTC is a good coin, but after halving I did not see any improvements and believe that it would never overcome its ATH.

Agree. The next bull market could greatly increase LTC's price as we know it. But we have to be patient in order to see good results in the future. First, Litecoin needs to get past the $100 range for it to go higher in price across the market. As long as it's well below $50 per coin, I don't see it going anywhere. The main trigger in prices is Bitcoin, without a doubt. If Bitcoin doesn't experience an uptrend in price, Litecoin and other altcoins will be unable to obtain higher prices across the market. Usually, old coins have a greater chance of survival over time than newer ones. But, it's not a guarantee that they'll always be valuable across the market.

If there's lack of demand for Litecoin, then it'll be difficult for the cryptocurrency to reach $1k anytime soon. Monetary supply tells us another thing, though. With a maximum supply of 84 million coins, Litecoin position's itself next to Bitcoin in terms of price. At least, it should've been like this in the first place. However, soon Ethereum hardfork will happen and I hope that it will help to break the ETH price from the BTC course. If this happened, there would be a chance that the prices of other altcoins would also start to rise. Certainly not immediately to $1k for 1LTC, but it could break the first borders.

BTC price is the main driver for alt growth despite whatever other people say. Also, fiat numbers have no intrinsic value in terms of evaluating the true cost of a coin - you'll need to adjust for inflation to do that accurately.

Just a moment ago - in the previous post - I wrote that Ethereum hard fork can change the price of altcoins a bit, not only EYH.. I am not saying that it will be skyrocketing to $1k for LTC, but it can speed up the bull run and make the prices of altcoins free from the price of Bitcoin.

How will the eth hardfork create a price breakout?  Altcoins are bought mainly against a bitcoin pair.  Same with eth.  If bitcoin goes down in fiat by a lot, you can rest assure eth will go down in terms of fiat pricing.  Point I was making was bitcoin at $1k or bitcoin at $100k usd makes a huge difference in whether litecoin or in that matter eth would ever move towards $1k

News like the the Ethereum 2.0 update could very well move the price without any new money coming in the market. Sure, more money coming into the market cap helps raise the price, but it's not a requirement. People already own the Bitcoins. They would just simply trade them for Ethereum if the news were to drop that the update was coming out next week. I don't think it would ever jump from $150 to $1k though.

The hardfork alone wont shoot the price up why would it.  If anything the price is already baked in just like a halving price bake in.  Too many people think these non significant events will just moon their coin they are holding.  Point is they will only go if bitcoin goes.

Important thing is the growth tied with bitcoin. If bitcoin goes up the growth of litecoin will happen, as mentioned halving alone doesn't take the market of litecoin high. The reality is being experienced. Lot of users staked litecoin considering the growth of litecoin based on halving. We'll experience $1000 per litecoin, but this isn't very near as there is no big market pumping with bitcoin.

I think if the bullish market will happen, the price of litecoin will reach $1000 for sure, but I don't know when will exactly to happen, I hope will happen in just few years. 5 to 10 years seems too long for litecoin.

It's good to "Hodl" Litecoin for the long term, as it's a tried-and-tested cryptocurrency that's limited by design. Being an old cryptocurrency, gives it an advantage over most other coins being traded on the market now. It's no secret that the LTC blockchain serves as experimental grounds for adopting new features on the Bitcoin blockchain. That close relationship between both coins (LTC and BTC), will drive the price per Litecoin to the roof sometime in the future. We just have to be patient in order to achieve great results in the future. If the Litecoin dev team adopts Mimblewimble, then it'll be a game-changer for the privacy of its underlying blockchain network. This would allow Litecoin to distance itself from Bitcoin in every way. There will be "FOMO" across the crypto market, because of LTC's newly adopted privacy feature.

Above all else, Litecoin's price moves upward if Bitcoin does the same. All eyes are on Bitcoin right now, as it's bound to increase in price within the next block halving. Once that happens, then LTC and other major cryptocurrencies on the market will rise in price to levels beyond reach. That's a big "IF." Mimblewimble is a completely different algorithm, with completely different set of rules. If LTC adopts Mimblewimble, there would be a coin swap I imagine. Theymos likes Grimcoin too.

LTC is unlikely to reach $1,000 in a few years, because LTC technology is already outdated and it is unlikely that LTC will ever reach $1,000.

Because halving has occurred and there is no effect of the update on LTC prices does not mean that it will not increase. that's the point of future updates. although it is outdated, but if there are updates that can make requests increase in the future, 1000 is not an impossible problem. remember the market mates are always on the move and we never know what will happen in the future.

Nothing can be certain and helping LTC to reach $ 1000 in the next few years, The current LTC is like a dead altcoin and the price keeps going down. I also gave up holding LTC in 2018 because it has no future, their CEO gave up on the project because so we should not care too much about this project, there are many other projects better than LTC that are operating and also very cheap, we should invest in them more.

I believe that market conditions may improve in the coming years but that is probably not a reason for litecoin to go up, it may even be a reason for litecoin not achieving the price we expected because the highest price litecoin can achieve, it is quite dependent on market manipulation, and the requirement for manipulation is the need for more whales to coordinate and boost capitalization. There is a possibility that it could happen just like Ethereum it hits ATH at more than the value of $1,000 and I think if that will happen then everything including some altcoins could reach more than the value we were expecting and this could only happen when Bitcoin pumps up at the value between the range of $30,000 - $50,000. So, we just need to accumulate as long as we can and take advantage and develop our skills on trading when the time comes.

I kind of agree with Abiky about tried and tested. I know a lot of purists will always see Litecoin as a stupid speculative currency that really has no potential for big prices, and I think I can agree partially. In a thread it was asked whether one need to wait until Litecoin falls to $30. Looking the market it can happen, but what we have right now itself a good price for buying. Right now it is around $40, investing now and if left for profiting it'll surely give a big return because someday. It can and probably will go higher than that in the future. As we get more money into the market and increase the market cap, it could very well hit that $1,000 point that the op mentioned. However, I wouldn't count on this happening anytime soon. Litecoin has just been overtaken by newer projects that offer newer and better technology, so a lot of the new money is going to these projects. The problem is, it's just a basic clone of Bitcoin for the most part.

That is basically what it is, many were expecting that since bitcoin was so expensive that most people will decide to not use their bitcoin and just store it just like they store gold and they will use litecoins instead for its cheaper transactions and faster confirmation times but with the lightning network this will change and we will be able to use our bitcoin anywhere we want, and this is a problem for litecoin since it no longer serves any purpose to the community and I think their developers realize this.

It will most likely not reach anything close to that. There is a huge queue of coins that will turn the greedy eyes first. LTC had history but it has long ended and nobody is hyped on it anymore. The reason Litecoin hit ATH in 2017 is because all coins hit ATH back then. But times changed and I have seen very little progress with this coin.

The market is unpredictable and the value of Litecoin remains a mystery to many large investors. I only hope Litecoin can reach $200 by the end of this year because this is the price I will be profitable but for that to happen, Bitcoin needs to reach $17,000. It's really hard to say what going to happen next but Bitcoin will definitely have a big price improvement.

Yeah, definitely a possibility in this decade, I mean we've all seen what happens in crypto and the crazy prices are possible again and again. And like you said, right at the front of tech development too, Lightning, Segwit, Mimble and who knows even atomic swaps this next few years, Litecoin is an old alt that one day could just explode with real users, like BTC, and people would feel much safer on it than on other coins that can just disappear overnight.

I think still too early to think about 1000$ for litecoin in next few years because POW will become less popular in the future, so this might make 1000$ target too hard for litecoin. While Litecoin is no better than Bitcoin and most other altcoins out there on the market, it's still one of the oldest and most trusted cryptocurrencies in existence today. This allows Litecoin to have better branding & mainstream recognition than other newer altcoins being used by people in the mainstream world. The mere fact that Litecoin's supply is limited (only 84m coins will ever be mined) tells us that sooner or later, it will rise towards astronomical levels in price. Of course, there needs to be active development and innovation to sustain these claims. With the announcement (and hopeful integration) of Mimblewimble into Litecoin, things could start moving in the right direction. Until then, Litecoin will remain stagnant in price across the crypto market.

I think the current price increase of LTC cannot make the coin reach $1,000 yet because the crypto market is not ready for the new altcoin season and Bitcoin cannot return to the $20,000 so this will be very difficult. Currently I can be sure that LTC will reach $100 soon by the end of February if all goes well. Of course this is a prediction based on my analysis of the last few days and won't be 100% accurate.

The most important thing is that the developers of Litecoin do not stop to develop their project, then over time LTC will surely grow to $1000, and maybe even higher.

what you say is very true, that it is preferred that Litecoin wants to continue to develop the project and don't always be affected by bitcoin. because like it or not dependence on bitcoin will make it difficult to develop by itself. but not apathetic with Litecoin but if it can be up to $ 1K is a very big progress from Litecoin, hopefully what is so many people longing for can be fulfilled even though it may take quite a long time.

Everyone has their own opinion about litecoin, in my opinion litecoin is at the top only because it is a very old coin with a lot of history so it is still there by only inertia, so I do not really think it is going to reach 1000 as many people believe, that will be an increase of more than 17x and at least to me its price is already too high and most likely will go down in the near future, however if what you are looking is for a good coin to speculate from time to time that will not disappear overnight litecoin can be a good option.

Exactly. Constant development is important to keep the money flowing in any cryptocurrency. Without development, I don't see any reason why Litecoin should be heading towards new ATHs in price. Take a good look at Dogecoin which has been abandoned by its devs a long time ago, only to be useful as a speculative cryptocurrency today. Maybe I'm wrong, and Litecoin turns out to rise further in price according to Bitcoin's price movement across the market. After all, most altcoins rise in price if Bitcoin does the same. At least, the 84 million cap in supply is there. This allows Litecoin to obtain "store of value" properties just like Bitcoin. It's the reason why so many people have compared Litecoin as "Silver" to Bitcoin's "Gold".

If by any chance the dev team integrates "Mimblewimble" into Litecoin, people will have a reason to invest in it. This will differentiate Litecoin from Bitcoin in every way. I am glad you are bullish on Litecoin, i am using the coin to gamble most of the time and i like the transaction speed and the low valuation to choose them and i am not holding the coin to make a huge profit as i am not expecting a huge individual rally in the coin and if the developer even tweets that he sold all of his holding when Litecoin had its rally how will the investors trust in investing in it and that is a huge problem to get the big investors.

haha .... the imagination is too high, why should imagine the price of litecoin to 1k usd. better to discuss a more realistic price, for example the range at the price of 200$ is more reasonable for litecoin. Litecoin price movements are slow even though bitcoin prices are rising.

this is one of the long-established cryptocurrencies and one of my favorites..  I HODL some Litecoin because I'm sure Litecoin will be Bullish high in the next few years (my prediction is 3-5 years from now), maybe it will break more than $ 1000. nothing to lose if we save a few Litecoin from now.

Agree. Litecoin is one of the oldest and most trusted altcoins in existence today. I don't think that it will die anytime soon because of this. After all, Litecoin is seen as "Silver" to Bitcoin's "Gold". New features are thoroughly tested on Litecoin before they're implemented into Bitcoin itself. Litecoin was among the first cryptocurrencies to adopt SegWit. Then, Bitcoin followed and adopted SegWit which paved the way for the Lightning Network. The limited supply of Litecoin, should make us feel confident that it will not lose its value anytime soon.

Of course, the cryptocurrency is still below the $100 range, but anything could happen in a couple of years from now. It's no secret that Litecoin rises in price according to Bitcoin's price movement on the market. If Bitcoin goes up, so will Litecoin and other altcoins that are close to Bitcoin in terms of market cap (like Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash). I believe that LTC is still a bargain these days given its very limited supply next to Bitcoin. If Ethereum is worth almost $200 per coin with an unlimited supply, then Litecoin should've been worth more by now. I guess that people are more often interested in bigger cryptocurrencies that are always active in development and innovation than Litecoin itself. But in the end, Litecoin should be able to reach $1,000 per coin if Bitcoin goes all the way to $100k.

Nonetheless, crypto enthusiasts should not give up on Litecoin yet. There's still hope for the cryptocurrency to grow towards "infinity and beyond". It's up to you and me to make Litecoin a widely adopted cryptocurrency in the mainstream world. Without proper support from its community and development team, Litecoin would've been dead already. The goal of $1,000 per coin seems to be far away from becoming a reality anytime soon. But with patience, you'll be able to profit massively once LTC touches $1k if you've bought it while it was still cheap (less than $100 per coin). Just my opinion :)
