Title: Trade Bitcoin - AVOID "Get Rich Quick" Shit Coin Pump and Dump
Post by: cryptozink on November 16, 2019, 06:00:28 AM
That's the thing. The only people gaining are the people that initiated the pumps. They're smart. As soon the shit coin goes up buy 10-20% they sell to people buying after the 10-20% up. Anyone who buys after that is stuck with those coins because no one is going to buy a shit coin that is up that much. They end up selling at a huge lost (sometimes 70-90% lost). It's a scam that works well for people who organize pump and dumps.

The FOMOs are trying to get rich overnight, but ended up loosing everything. I wish people get it that only trading / investing in Bitcoin (https://www.cryptozink.io/how-to-invest-in-bitcoin-buy-btc/) will bring you profit. Only BTC's price fluctuate (https://www.cryptozink.io/currencycoin/BTC/bitcoin/) to the point where you can make nice profit trading with even $500. It's going to take a while to build up the profit, but it's almost always a sure thing.

yes, it's like a ponzi scheme, or hyip, we can avoid these coins, especially new ones, we can choose popular coins, not only bitcoin, there are lots of popular coins, at least having a top 10 ranking on coin marketcap.

That's the reality we are facing. Pump and dump groups are manipulating the coin. Common traders should also be wise dealing with this. They're attracting some traders by showing some pump prices of their own coin, a typical manipulation scheme. That is why I don't really support such groups that obviously has a power over their coins and has an obviously fake the inflatability of it. This practice is not new but still there are few who fall for it.

The question here is why would they even buy some random shitcoin that is being pump without a good reason?
I think most of the people who does it are the newbie's who really believed in some random signal group that tells them to buy this shit  coin and dump at a certain point.
There is no way an old trader would fall for this kind of thing because they are aware of this kind of tactics and know too well that this kind of pump would usually crash after it hits a certain point and it is too risky.

This is why I remain determined in my mindset, that all other altcoins in the market are shit coins except for those who already prove themselves, those who are top listed such as ETH, XRP and other altcoins that prove to be worthy and valuable. The market's incredibly huge amount of altcoins are just making the market look like it's full of coins that are too weak and serves only as a bait to ignorant crypto-investors.

If you daytrade Bitcoin, or listen too much to shitty trading advices, you will lose your money just as with shitcoins. There's some manipulation happening on Bitcoin markets, there's FUD, shills, experts who talk out of their ass, paid articles in both crypto and mainstream media.

"HODL" became a meme for a good reason - this strategy is both simple and effective, it's good for investors of all levels of expertise, and historically if you have waited long enough, you'd almost always be in profit.

Yep, agree with you. It is mostly like some newbies trying to invest or a group of people who never learn correctly from losing many times. Still, the problem is not about "newbie or old" but they are not smart enough to decide on what coins to put their money. As a newbie, you must be more selective + careful to choose coins. Normally, most newbies try to invest in the safest coins at the beginning.

This has been the case and the thing ever since altcoins were introduced in exchanges and when regulations aren't so defined yet. Good thing that this has been acted upon and is not rampant anymore though there are still some kind of pump and dumps happening on some platforms here and there, particularly on Bittrex. You can't avoid people from participating into sure and fast money, although you can at least try to prevent the event from happening but then again it's purely on regulations and laws and not particularly on the exchange's power since that will cause some issues and stir up the economy.

It is not just the shady altcoins. This can happen to bitcoin as well. Remember in 2017 when noobs FOMO when the price of bitcoin is at ATH in 20K. Then all of them dumped when the price started correcting. They all lost because they FOMO without basic knowledge of bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

If you are a trader, you do not need to stick on bitcoin alone. What is important is that you know what you are getting into. Both bitcoin and altcoin are profitable as long as you do not fall into traps, you understand your market and you researched and have full knowledge on the coins you are betting on.

IMO, you can't force any traders to just buy and sell bitcoin solely as long as they are responsible for what they are doing. They can get what they deserve because of their decisions. The crypto market is really huge and keeps on getting the bigger cause of newly created altcoins from time to time. I neither believe nor support this kind of signals, they just want a crowd to be involved in their profit-making strategy to pump the coins/tokens they are holding...

Fortunately enough, I realised it in the first month of my trading journey in which period I lost quite a lot of my investment but since I realised it's not the right way to do it, I stopped doing it.
I then started short term trading but since the market was playing against me I decided to go long term and since then I am holding on to my coins.

Buy the F**ing Dip and HODL, that for me has been very effective. I do trade but I don't like to short bitcoin, so I would rather buy when the price is cheap and then just HODL, simply as that.

I can't disagree with you on that mate... I can share so many experiences where i run at a huge loss upon investing into some of the ICOs that were launched into this space. However my investments in Bitcoin has never disappointed me. I always make decent amount of profits anytime i buy into it when the market dips and hold till it rises again. Bitcoin is a sure bet to a profit gained investment, all you need to do is to be patient and stay off the market charts all day.

I think that I have to agree with you. These scammers are getting out of hand, and pocket. The schemes that they keeping coming up with are getting more sly by the day. A lot of projects are just a bunch of copy cat clones that offer little to no real innovations. I try to avoid scammy sounding projects at all cost.

That's the reason why we have to be smarter and wiser not to believe in scammers and Ponzi schemes. We should deal with the market changes and we must not believe in Fomos. Sometimes, we're easily hooked and attracted to too good to be true promises. We must observe the market ourselves and take advantage of every market situation based on our own knowledge.

Ico's and hype schemes serve to create bad image to the cryptocurrency, but we also need to agree that there people who have benefited investing on shitcoins. This is all associated with the luck. Just think of the year 2017, what we say as a shitcoin now were regarded good ones. This is all because of the market, maybe if those days comes again we might be able to profit out of shitcoins that are worth big in the past.

This is the big problem in crypto society right now as there are plenty of groups around there that are doing this kind of technique. They are very good in pumping and once they get the buy orders, they will just dump it easily and the victims will lost their money.

It should be address to the newbies, as most of the victims in this kind of technique are them especially that most of the newbies didn't know this kind of happenings "Pump and Dump".

Or you can wait it out, earn less than trading, but not "lose" as you say. Because, you never lose unless you sell, and if price plummets, all you have to do is wait and you won't lose a thing.

Not everyone is a trader, and holding is a perfectly valid strategy to preserve value when possessing a deflationary coin. Can you earn more by trade? Yes, but you are risking it more as well.

Leaving the coins in a cold wallet and look at it next few years from now works fine as well.

The classic problem that keeps repeating in the cryptocurrency world is that there are many newbies who follow the pump and dump signals
that promises to be able to make a profit instantly. By buying a few shitcoins, and ultimately causing loss. This all starts from the lazy person
to do the analysis of coins to be bought, then can not wait want to make a profit in a short time. These two factors make people unable to
think smart and rational. I better buy the bitcoin or popular altcoins to get profit that might be obtained in the long run. Instead of making a
profit in a short time by buying shitcoins, which can end up suffering losses.

Traders and investors are becoming wise now and getting cautious about this pump and dump shitcoins invariably knowing that it is a ploy targeted at newbies, investors are now aware that bitcoin and ethereum are probably the most stable coins in the cryptosphere now thus invested in them 'buying low and selling high' is the simple logic that require some learning to trade these coins and become profitable.

some people can earn on sh*tcoins if they know how to timed thier moves  ,  and who do you think iniated the pump ? the investors also because they are the ones that buys the coin  .  some people will buy the coin much more when they see that its pumping because they expect that they can earn more thru it when it pumped higher    .  i agree on the title that btc is the one that we must get instead of this quick pump and dump coin because they are only come and go. they cant provide any long term benefits on the crypto space not unlike to btc that its still there before and up to now or up to the future

though people already knew these tactics from whales/manipulators still they are trying their luck.
because in some scenarios there are still getting the chance of buying before the pump happens so when the manipulators press the key these people sell the currencies and instant profit, the problem is there are more losers than the winners yet nothing can stop them.

this will never stop as long as there are bunch of "willing victims" around.

I highly disagree with the concept of bitcoin and ethereum being the most stable coin in the cryptocurrency space. This is quite risky to believe for newbies in the market because if they invest in bitcoin and ethereum knowing that it is stable, they will just panic sell when bitcoins market price suddenly fell down. In this case, a complete opposite description of these cryptos is appropriate. Bitcoin and Ethereum are most volatile cryptocurrency.

Yep, the way most of these works will involve someone randomly shilling and then organizing a group of people that are willing to pump a coin up 50% or so of the current price, but oftentimes they own a large amount of the shitcoin already.

This results in 2 scenarios, where you are basically all helping this single investor who works or has a large share in a coin earn a shit ton of money, OR

You are likely going to get the prices up, and then the person who undercuts everyone (say they sell at 20%), fucks everyone over.

You are right I also don't believe in new coins. I twice invested in coins turned out to both be shitcoin. it's better to invest in bitcoin. but I also still believe in old altcoins like ripple, litecoin and ethereum. Even though the altcoin market is experiencing a decline I still believe in the altcoin that I hold. I am optimistic when bitcoin goes to the moon and the coins I hold will also increase. but of course my main investment is bitcoin.

I've seen some Altcoins go up in a short time and I know it's the work of the Pump and Dump group, if I'm not mistaken their group was previously active on the bittrex exchange since 2016, but after a few years later I don't see the pump and dump group anymore, are they still alive today or not, so what is their current target market do they still have the capital to do that now?
I was trapped in buying expensive Altcoin at that time and ended up selling cheap

People who cannot analyze with the right will get the shit coin at the highest price. They will not have a chance to sell at a higher price in a short time, and that will make them hold for a very long time. But sometimes, the shit coin can give us a profit if we know how we should treat the coin.

You should not think about getting rich in one night in cryptocurrency because if you cannot analyze everything, you will not make a profit. If you are afraid to get stuck at a higher price with the shitcoin, then you should not invest or buy the coin, especially if the coin has started to increase. You will lose the opportunity to buy and sell the coin if you don't have a better internet connection because the pump and dump will need a fast move of the internet connection.

So be careful if you want to buy any coin at the market, make sure you analyze, or you can purchase bitcoin only because the only bitcoin will give you the real profit in the future.

Thats a good advice in general. There are not so much ways of getting reach fast but a lot of ways of getting scammed fast
Indeed, it actually depends on the person itself if he/she wanted to get scammed particularly these days that scammers are using different techniques and strategies to deceive others just to get the benefits they wanted. It will never be easy to be rich, you will face a lot of challenges and it's up to you if you are going to handle it well. Just like any other people I have also experienced investing in some coins and now I just feel remorse about it because it is not worth it and my funds are just wasted for nothing. I have realized a lot of things after that and I just learned from it.

Devils advocate here. It appears easier to get rich trading erc-20's on an exchange like ecxx than to swing trade Bitcoin for 2% gains. I have seen wallets with millions of dollars of crypto earned from executing this strategy. You only need one erc-20 like LINK to make it big. To balance your portfolio, hold 50% BTC. I personally hold 100% Bitcoin, it's the king, but this is a strategy for those who are willing to take on more risk.

Or you can wait it out, earn less than trading, but not "lose" as you say. Because, you never lose unless you sell, and if price plummets, all you have to do is wait and you won't lose a thing.
Common misconception about trading is that they always put a time span whenever they sell and it tends to lose. You can't put aside the greed on every FOMO type of trader, and most of them are here always asking what they have done wrong for losing.

Not everyone is a trader, and holding is a perfectly valid strategy to preserve value when possessing a deflationary coin. Can you earn more by trade? Yes, but you are risking it more as well.
I've been a trader for a couple of years now, and risking by trading means maximizing the potential gain from your side which I enjoy so much. Hold is just for 'big time' coins like bitcoin and ethereum since it has a one time pump phase. There are worth to mention alternative coins which is litecoin and monero that I enjoy trading these past few months, they are wavy and challenging to play.  :)

Leaving the coins in a cold wallet and look at it next few years from now works fine as well.
I do have my saved bitcoin (almost a quarter) and ethereumon my trezor, I put it a year from now for my financial security as well as volatile investment. Who knows what could be its value after 5 years or a decade. Thus I have my bitcoin ready to sell on binance.

i agree buying pump coin will not really give profit instead they will lose all their investment
many new users think they can become a millionaire in bitcoin overnight

So be careful if you want to buy any coin at the market, make sure you analyze, or you can purchase bitcoin only because the only bitcoin will give you the real profit in the future.
i did it several times haha , bought $100 shitcoins hold it on for 6 months and it is worth $5 now , what a shitcoin right?

but sometimes you know i bought HNI hunibit a korean based tokens worth 1 ethereum only and my tokens worth 7,7 ethereum right now haha that is the story behind the good and bad shitcoins which of course there is more bad things happened.
do it with cautions , buying shitcoins does not mean you are gambling with it , not always.
you will still making a research thoroughly to at least maximize your chance getting a better shitcoin i mean not the worst  :D .

this is just the matter of taking a very high risk , as cryptocurrency like bitcoin or ethereum itself are a high risk invesment.

That is why we should be aware of choosing a coin where to invest. I highly recommend investing in top-ranked coins such as Bitcoin, Eth, and XRP which will give an assurance of having a good amount of return. I admit that some coins are really profitable but it is tough to determine which among them who will give a high return, to find them you need to conduct intensive research to determine which is worth and which is not.

Not the only people, but yeah for sure the ones initiating the pumps are the ones who gain the most. And these guys do it for shits and giggles too, I'm sure, cause the real deals are only in Bitcoin.

Everything else, I swear almost, is just at the whim of a few people who need some money to splash around.

Sure, 2017 was a little different in the sense that a lot of greedy people took advantage but I'm pretty sure most of those people thought they were smart (the sense that all the coins they bought made profit also helped them fool themselves), and tried to speculate but ended up losing most of what they gained anyway.

The best way to avoid shitcoin pumps and dumps is not to participate in them. Don't buy shitcoins and have one less thing to worry about.
I don't recommend trading bitcoin to anyone. Even traders who used to do well on traditional markets lose trying to predict Bitcoin because they aren't expecting an asset worth so much money per share to be so volatile. Most stocks are worth a few hundred dollars and are more stable than Bitcoin that's almost at 10k.
So I'll say it once again. Don't trade Bitcoin, hold it.

With leverage, I have seen much more persons getting liquidated than those who trade altcoins. I have said this not just pointing out the leverage part, but the normal price changes too because those who bought BTC at its peak at around $20k and sold at $3k are still in a major loss there in USD terms if not in BTC.

if you often use certain exchanges, of course, also memorize the characteristics of all the coins in it, this is a prerequisite to make sure you know the direction of each coin's chart.

It's okay to be tempted by candles with a potential reversal but first make sure the coin is still in the buying zone and its tendency to touch resistance, so don't analyze it instantly, the pattern of shitcoin is also able to breakout in one day.

There are pumps and dumps in Bitcoin as well and those who traded it in the last few months experienced them first hand. Going into bitcoin trading and especially trying to trade with leverage will make them play you like a fiddle. That's what those fast moves of 1k BTC on Bitstamp are meant to do. Liquidate all the leveraged suckers and influence exchanges with higher liquidity.

You got the whole idea of these shitcoin or pump and dump coin and I wonder why many people still don’t understand this and they keep giving them the chance to actually dupe them. It is the time that many people forget about some of these projects that keeps promising what that cannot offer and they keep getting money from people.

Bitcoin is still the safest coin to invest in and also trade. I think that the reason why many avoid bitcoin is because they are not well properly informed and they think because bitcoin is expensive, they really cannot buy or trade it not, but they don’t understand that they can still trade any part of bitcoin as they don’t need to buy a whole bitcoin before they trade or make money from it, so they go for some of these cheap and low quality project promising to give them exactly what bitcoin can offer them.

I think we should select few of the coins in which we are interested and keep following their charts and news. I will recommend to keep 70% portfolio from top 20 coins in coinmarketcap.

shitcoin pump and dump, like play gambling, although sometimes the coins up to 10-20%. but before we buy, they have bought from the bottom, and we buy from the above, which in the end, they are rich and we are poor. many lay people are trapped this way because I have also experienced things like this, so I lost a lot of money around 50% at that time. most things like this on telegram channels, even premium channels do this, so be careful and never join.

If you have a fear of missing out on profiting from a shitcoin, you're being really, really stupid--and greedy.  I can understand that emotion when you're talking about bitcoin when it's booming like it did in 2017, but for one of these typical pump & dump shitcoins?  Come on.  You'd have to be a complete noob to fear missing out on one of those.

I agree that everyone should avoid altcoins that suddenly start rising unless it's because bitcoin is rising concurrently and only if you're talking about one of the better altcoins, and there aren't too many of those.  When I think of pump & dump coins, I think of those shitcoins on Yobit that go for 1 satoshi and occasionally you see them jump to 2 or 3 satoshis and you know someone is doing that on purpose.  It's easy to pump a coin like that because it doesn't really cost that much and there are usually tons of sell orders and no buy orders in sight.  Those are the coins every trader should avoid at all costs.

I also don't believe in new coins.
I understand how painful it is to put money in a project and to later see that such project is a scam project or turn out to be a very bad project, but I don’t think that we should because of that now condemn all coins that are in the market and are starting up newly.

If we take a look at the environment where we are living now, we will see that we have lots of bad people in our neighborhood, but that has not made the authority to just come and judge everyone around that place as a bad person, they take their time to investigate the neighborhood in other to spot out that bad ones which is what I think we should be doing right now too because if we keep condemning the new projects, how can we get new innovative to come out of this Blockchain technology.

This is because of greedy idiots that buy a coin based on price rather than value. They want to get rich overnight and they honestly deserve what's coming to them for being so greedy AF.
How can you say that trading and investing in bitcoin is the only way to profit? I wish people like you would get that bitcoin is not the only currency. Then to make matters even worse you then go and say that
"BTC's price fluctuate to the point where you can make nice profit trading with even $500." Doing arbitrage? I don't think so. You are confused. "but it's almost always a sure thing" now you just talking nonsense.

That's why we shouldn't chase after pumps. Information is key in the line of business. Either you have it or you don't. An experienced trader will never chase a pump, and will not succumb to the incredible urge of getting in, so these Sharks only suck the blood out of the inexperienced or the new guys in town. For those who follow cryptos for a few years now, we already know that if you don't know what you are doing, crypto trading will be much like putting money into a ponzi scheme.

In this scenario, the most appropriate thing to do is to try to be like whales, try to understand how they move and make a decision. Once we understand how decision is made, we can be like them, or if we can't try to be always updated, if we can see a huge whale moves, follow their trading patterns, because we already know how powerful they are in controlling the market so if we are on their side other than thinking this is a huge ponzi scam, eventually we can earn as well. In addition, we should also consider market analysis in terms of technical and being updated about the news.

Title: Re: Trade Bitcoin - AVOID "Get Rich Quick" Shit Coin Pump and Dump

It's always the manipulators game. These whales are what mostly drives the prices by instilling FOMO in investors minds and trying to swim with these whales only ends up being beaten to loss when you did not watch for the prices.

Also considering that there are literally tons of altcoins currently swarming the market, these altcoins could be considered as shitcoin already since they do not bring any real-life practical advantage to any other coins currently existing. Too much competition makes most of the competitors irrelevant.

Investors looking at these shitcoins are only speculating, way higher than speculating in bitcoin. It's primarily a get-rich-quick scheme, where if you get lucky and hodl some of a specific shitcoin before whales even flood its market, then as soon as the bubble is about to burst, sell all your holdings and never go back again.

That's what I think shitcoins are now for. Nothing worth investing in terms of technology and revoltionizing digital currencies, just pure speculation.

Trading is about analyzing to get the right timing. and Fomo is one thing that must be avoided, feelings can defeat logic, for fear of being left behind to go along with the market without knowing that it is over the edge.
Follow the flow pattern but do not drift. All of them synergized, fundamental analysis, technical speculation, trusted traders and influential whales. At least we can take it for, even if it is not as big as those who can play the market and take it from the beginning, well, being grateful is also very important.

Holding means that it's good to hold for a certain period and sell when it's great time to do it. Now it's right time to buy, that's for sure, so calm down :D Bitcoin price is so attractive. I believe that 2020 will be better than this year. You don't have to trade cryptocurrencies, so you don't have to use any of the cryptocurrency exchanges. Just buy bitcoin on the online cantors (like for example BuyCoinNow, credit/debit card is all you need to have), hold and be patient. This is the long-term investment.

Not only in the bitcoin we wil have a sure profit, but also in other reputable coins like litecoin, ethereum and many others that actually guarantee us that we will earn here in a long run. So when we stop investing in pumps and dump coins we can help ourselves to find the right ones to give us a safe income.

Pump and dump and just like gambling, when you bust and you don't sell it will definitely drop its price and you may be the victim here.

I see these Shitcoin pumpers as the wannabe early Bitcoiners, where they get in early and buy a bunch of coins for a very low price (even getting

some for free) and then hyping up the coin in the hope of making millions. The problem is, too many people are trying the same thing and this

strategy has become the norm now, so people are dumping it too quickly... before it can even make them a proper profit. One or two of these coins

manage to last a little bit longer than the rest and the price just stagnates for months. (no room for day traders to profit)  ::)

Those shit coins are actually very risky to invest on, but I have seen people making profit from it. Those who get in first and also dumps first before anyone else are the ones that makes the maximum profit (usually the developers). Though the risk is never worth taking. You need to be extremely luck to make profit off them. But, don't even think of investing on those coins. All you will be doing is encouraging them and others to create more such pump and dump coins.

As you said 10-20% returns are small in the crypto market but are great for longtime forex traders. I used to fomo and lost all the money I had. I should have had a real plan instead of all in.

One of the reason is the lack of knowledge on what they're getting into they'll invest into anything like HYIP, ponzi schemes like cloud minings or they'll ride the hype train due to FOMO. Once they lose all their money they blame bitcoin and spread negative feedback scaring future investors.

Most of the time people end up losing out of the shitcoin trading. Very few people find to be lucky to get rich out of the same. People who invested during the year 2016-2017 on the shitcoins benefited big, while this didn't happened afterwards. This means with the bullish move almost every cryptocurrency experienced growth that made people rich. Right now it is good to go with low price potential cryptocurrencies on the top liat than shit coins that are pumped and dumped by the team itself.

Logically speaking, no one profits in joining pump and dump schemes other than those who are head behind all this. Joining it simply makes you a puppet and willingly donate your money to them. A responsible trader should know themselves the market and trade accordingly by trying to project the price through methods like technical analysis along with the news. You should not rely to other people and trust yourself even more by educating yourself since the knowledge nowadays is just a the tip of your finger. What you only need to do is to have some dedication, determination and time to learn.

It's going to take a while to build up the profit, but it's almost always a sure thing.

that's why now I no longer want to invest in new coins is very risky. I have experienced two large investment losses in new coins. the price only went up 2 times after being registered in the exchange then after that it continued to decline and become shitcoin. better to invest in bitcoin I think is more profitable and safe even though we have to wait long enough for bitcoin to pump again.

I am not entirely sure about this. But I am sure that you can be much more profitable with trading one shitcoin and gain 200% rather than keep ping-ponging a more stable coin until you reach the aforementioned threshold.
IMHO, risking to get more profit is more lucrative than a stagnant trading strategy.

This is difficult to avoid because similar pumps and dumps occur in reputable coins. So if we can't avoid it better then let's face it and be smart in these scammers' steps. It's better to just follow the wave they are making, so that we can have a profit here too.

People who usually get stuck in those shit-coins are the greedy one's and usually the one's who listen to pump and dump signal group.
Most of those people are lazy so they would just depend on other peoples decision and they would later on cry and scream scam all over the internet.

Dangerous idea , if you just following whats in the trend or wave of the altcoin you want to enter just to have profit, you can get stuck and instead of profit you will lost your money with that decision. Dont just go with flow better enter early then sell iy always in time.

Don't ever try to be more aggressive with certain decision, because you may feel in the future and won't gain good results. Losing money can frustrate us, and definitely won't give you good emotions to face the current struggles. What's best for this time, having patience is our only way to deal with recent problems, eventually as time will be older; recovering the value of our asset might took us more time grow at promising value.

its a matter of when and what are you going to trade remember, that to get rich you have to be smart,
it doesn't matter you have to be very careful on things even shitcoins can make you rich its just when
are you going to let go , you see being greedy is the main reason imagine if you hold 3000 bitcoins now
you then imagine after 2 years you'll be a millionaire, see that being greedy why? after a few days you
can get profit, but what are we thinking 2 years, its okay to be greedy but you also have to be smart
holding lots of bitcoin doesn't mean your sure, its when you already have enough and not to much
