Post by: ScamViruS on November 16, 2019, 05:17:01 PM
Binance-cn.com is a full binance.com's copy fake website. But as long as you don't notice the URL,at that point you will not realize that this is a Binance's fake website. This website has been created to hack people's Binance account.

https://i.ibb.co/dBFGvGb/binance-2.png

The login page is warning you (Please check that you are visiting https://www.binance.com.) But in this website login page URL is https://www.binance-cn.com/en/login  ;D

The interesting thing, in addition, is to be able to indicate where these type of sites are announced or linked, to be alert on the point of contact origin.

For example, I’ve taken a look at the referenced site, and found it within a Website that is scammy as can be:
Code:
http://www.binance-register[dot]co/en/app-download/
The page is not new (a year old), but links to the site you mention in the OP (must have updated it recently). There are a few more links of the kind mentioned within the page, behind a caption that indicates: “If during the maintenance period, we suggest you visit the site from mobile H5 page via the following sites”.

So these seems to be swarm of sites that are linked together in the same manner with the same objective: steal your credentials and, eventually, your crypto assets.

DdmrDdmr asking about source of website. From where you get this website. Like if this website listed on any other website like ICOHOLDER or something else then we would marked them as a scammer as well.

However, from my experience I would say this phishing link shared by Telegram spam. Sometimes I received such as link and that's why I were hide my telegram user name few days back. Sometimes peoples enter their details unconsciously due to same view of original website and that's how they are getting scam.

Op did great job, keep it up. I always love to encourage newbies to find scammers and expose them.

This website is on Google search. This website comes even when you search for binance.

What was the search query? And around what page number did you see it? It doesn't look like an advertisement from your screenshot. I couldn't get it to appear on my side.

In google search I did not find binance-cn but I salute you for letting me know here so I know that there is fake binance, the scamer keeps on making ways for him to make more money, this must be careful and don't leave it.

Thanks for the heads up.

This is actually one of the less subtle scams out there at the moment. More subtle ones take advantage of unicode to present a URL that is completely identical to the actual Binance.com domain as it fools your browser, essentially.

There's a reason why it is recommended to save exchange URLs to your browser bookmarks and NEVER click on any google ad results when searching for exchanges. Also, beware of giveaway scams where scammers may directly target your email inbox.

This looks like a clone website for binance.com and anyone could get scammed if they did not carefully looked at the website address. The content and look is exactly similar.
The site is newly registered, how did it appear in google search results ?

<…> DdmrDdmr asking about source of website. From where you get this website. Like if this website listed on any other website like ICOHOLDER or something else then we would marked them as a scammer as well.

After seeing the OP, I simply Googled for it, trying to find the context it came up in. One place I found was the site I included in my post, and it seems to have been around for a year, updating it’s scammy content, as the link to the site in the OP suggests (OPs link is only a couple of months old).

The important thing to know is how these scam sites get their traffic. Google searches may be a way, providing it comes up pretty on top of the list (could be different results and order depending on the Google country site being used). Telegram and phishing emails are also likely, but the specific traffic generators are important to enumerate if possible.

For proper security we shouldn't grab those site link on Google search and we shouldn't do a lazy act on screening the link we are unto since provably we might grab the wrong one, for more at ease must advisable to look the url carefully and must grab the real on coinmarketcap if you are frequent user of that site since they list the real binance and not the scam one.

I have tried to find out the source of these links via google. and found some sources. check below

Please don't visit/login via these links

source :
Code:

This also may be a fake website

These are the source that I have found by searching on the internet but I can find an appropriate source which can be tagged. I mean which has any account on bitcointalk or any site which is more popular with me/us.

I really couldn't find the binance-cn.com site on Google search results. But, I think I've found other scam sites. Found these on pages 3-5. Not 100% sure that these are scams, but I really don't think the legitimate Binance released these websites.

I do not know why the other members was not able to find. But I can still see this on Google search. Now it has gone to the 4th page. I've given enough proof that I'm getting this in Google search. Google search is different in different countries.  :)

Yep! Still isn't appearing on my side. But yea, this is most likely due to a combination of personalized search results and difference in location.

Anyways, don't forget to report these websites!

This could be through scam promotions on Bitcointalk, Reddit, or any other social media sites, or maybe through Google ads, etc. Instead of just completely ignoring it, spend a few seconds reporting the scam site as to hopefully prevent potential victims from falling for these scams. Even if the difference to be made probably is just minuscule, it could make a difference.

Remember, it only takes a few seconds.

Checked some initial websites where it link to:

www.bitcoin86.com
www.btczn.cn
www.wanbizu.com
www.chainwhy.com
www.aicoin.cn
www.btc126.com/trade/
www.loongda.net

Mostly Chinese related forum I assumed, and probably a haven for scammers/phishers.

Interesting, it also has linked to a possible another Binance phishing site:

Code:
Possible phishing site: https://xxx.binance[dot]net/en

It's really hard to find it in Google because their attack vector is different (unless they are willing to pay adds to put their website on top, but they are clever because I'm sure many will find them). Using forums are one the most effective method for them to spread the word very fast.

Thank you very much for making me correct. you are right. Actually I did not get any green signal by Metacart extension where Other binance websites show a green signal. Anyway, It is right that I was wrong with binance Australia website. I am really sorry for that. Thanks again.
