Can someone please help me, I tried contacting support but I am not getting any replies, my account got hacked last year  but I just noticed  this week because I have been away from crypto... I contacted support through appropriate email, its been days now and I still have not got a reply.

This signing thing is confusing to me as well. I have never signed my account that got hacked, can it be recovered?

What is the your account name which is hacked ?
You should move your thread in meta (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0) section and also you need to proof that the hacked account belongs to you.

Forum names or profile links are not top secret. Also the account as you claim is not under your control, you may want a DT to leave a feedback on it to deter people from dealing with the account.

A signature is necessary to prove you're the original owner of the account, it's possible to get your account recovered without it in some cases if you still have the original email address used to register the account.
Also as suggested above, this topic is better fit for the Meta section.

Uhh why would it not be? Besides, you posting it in meta and letting other mods catch note of it could bring your support ticket forward quickly. You still need proof that it was your account (this matter could be directly said to the support themselves to conceal private info) so that they could verify that the account was really yours beforehand. Without it, i doubt the support would follow your issue.

That just means, you ought to have access to the crypto address used by you, before the hacking incident. It helps in identifying if the user is the original owner of the account to the recovery team. ( You can also recover using registered email sometimes, but its case by case)

It would be more helpful for you if you post your username here, as it will make your account mostly unusable for the hacker due to the red tags. DT's here would act upon it and you can clear it up once to get the account back.

It got hacked last year, I  have been away from crypto for a year, maybe close to 2 years.. I am just getting back, recovering this account is a huge deal for me because I purchased a trading bot using it a few years back and it cost me hundreds of dollars and now the  creator of the bot wants me to send him a message from inside my account to verify it so I can get the licence back.

I just noticed this week that it got hacked and I actually just  looked at the activity of  the account and the person that hacked it was posting with it and got banned too... I made that account in 2013 and it got hacked in 2018...

I never made a signature because I  didn't understand anything about it.

The account that got hacked was actually under my email adress which is  myfirstname_lastname@hotmail.com and I still have all the logs from the messages and my posts inside my mailbox.... I also said that I am willing to  present my government issued ID to prove that I am that person whose name the email is in.  

There is a huge post gap between October 10, 2014 to February 25 2017 and most probably there is a chance of change in hands between the same time. Although, the email address doesn't seems to be changed as per bpip (https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=IggySe7ven).

I see you have no crypto address posted before 2014, there is even a password change on 2018-08-06. I would suggest you going with recovery team (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0). The account is banned for now.

Yeah. well the account got hacked  in 2018, i have the email change notice in my  mailbox, its just some bogus email that consists of a bunch of random letters , and the pass was changed the same time, the gap before that I am pretty sure it was me. The account was always under the same email which is in my name up until  2018 08 06... that's when it got hacked and I don't think I ever made a crypto signature , I didn't know about it really and didn't think I could ever get  hacked or that someone would care to hack it, I am a newb in that sense.

I   never made a signature, are you saying there is, i sent an email for the recovery and one to Cyrus about it, waiting for reply,  email was sent on wednesday and i sent message to Cyrus today, I can see from posts some people been waiting for weeks to hear back.

If you follow the steps linked on the thread above, then it might not be as slow as you thought. Account recovery is not an easy thing to do, especially with how many account sales are done here and there.

So, wait and see, and if it doesn't work out, just use a new account if you want to join the forum again.

Ohh, I found out you are banned. Don't waste your time recovering on that account even you are claiming hacked but that is banned.

OP now is in ban evasion.

If you declare the account name, it will be better for you because some DT member will flag that account as hacked and hence the hacker will no longer use that account in good campaigns. Once you recover your account, you can request for the tag  to be removed. Sound good to you ?

Edit: Its seems your account has been banned by wrong doings by the hacker. Nothing can be done now.

I do not think OP is in ban evasion because the OP original account was hacked.  So if that hacked account is banned, we cannot give punishment to the old owner for ban evasion. 

Here's what you should do:

1. Move (lower-left) this topic to Other - Meta.
2. If there is one: find an old post with a Bitcoin address, you're going to need to sign a message to prove ownership.
3. Follow the instructions in Recovering hacked/lost accounts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0)

The account got banned in a wave of plagiarism-bans. If the plagiarism was yours, you won't be unbanned. If it was the account thief who did it, you stand a chance.
Until now, I haven't seen any evidence of the account being hacked, but the change of language and drop in post quality make it plausible.

1. I am new about the process and signature and all that stuff, I do not understand the  ins and outs of how it works.

2. My account did get hacked  last year.  I had that account since 2013 and never had issues. I have all the transcripts from account saved in my email about all my activity and then in 2018 on 08 06 my pass and email got changed to a clearly  bogus email ( dfsfsfeee@hotmail.com ) and then after that whoever was using it was posting  stuff using it and got it banned. I dont even understand what banning does really.

3. My origianal email adress is made up of my first and last name and its also same email i been using for Poloniex.

4. I never had a signature  or anything like that

5. I really need to recover it because i bought a trading bot with it  before it got hacked and  now I want to use it again but the bot maker wants me to prove my Identity by sending him a message from my account, that is why I need to recover it.

6. So  the email that I was using before it got banned from 2013 to 2017 is under my name and it has my first and last name in the email adress   and i have convesation and activity transcripts from the forum etc, I am willing to even prove my identity by providing government ID.


I really need to get this account back.

I suspect your account was not hacked, I dare say your account is named @ IggySe7ven, not hacked, your account has been blocked on this forum.

You have enough Alt accounts, some of your accounts have been blocked and are still active.

You want to fool all of us here, by saying the account was hacked.

Bright spot, found, about the @ mIggySe7ven account being hacked. Hackers of the @ mIggySe7ven account, have the most widely used Alt accounts at the moment. And may also be involved in selling accounts.

But all of this doesn't matter if the account was hacked before the connecting stuff was posted. The accounts password was changed on  2018-08-06, and there is non prior crypto address posted.

After 2018-08-06 password change, the account started posting on the local Sri Lankan thread which surely indicates a change in hand after it.

Based on this fact that @ IggySe7ven, was not hacked, but he was banned.

When viewed from the Alt @ IggySe7ven account post, the history of the post is the same and very similar, in the beginning did not participate in the crypto bounty, the middle of the new post played in the Bounty campaign.

I have no idea why you are trying to slander my name and say these things.  I barely even know anything about crypto besides basic trading etc.. I do know that what you are saying is not true though because I am the person who I say  and i never did any of the things you are suggesting.

I live In Canada,  I never made any multiple accounts that you suggesting, my email address that I was using for that account before it got hacked consistent of my first and last name, i used that email address for my account  from when i opened it in 2013 till the time it got hacked. Yes it did get hacked, I searched in my email and there is a message on 2018 08 06 saying that my email adress  and password associated with that account has been changed.
 About the transcripts thing what I mean is that  every time i would post something before the email got changed that i would get a notification send to my email and so I wanted to refer to that to show as a proof that I am owner of the account before email  got changed,and it did get changed. I don't know how you are saying email didn't get changed but I know its not true because it did get changed I can see  the notification of change  in my email. I only became aware of it now because I have been away from cryptocurrency because I stopped trading.

And your other claims of someones post looking similar to mine,  that's just bogus stuff, I know its not me, I know it got hacked, i have no explanation for other  hackers and also from logic  after someone hacked account could they not post a bunch of things to make it look like the account is active etc to gain trust of people. The fact is my account got hacked and then banned.

 this is the guy that hacked my account... i found him on facebook through Telegram... he actually post his actual name on Telegram.... can anything be done about this

All of this alts and getting banned doesn't matter as ban is personal and if the operator of the account was not the OP at the time of this it doesn't apply to him and hence he can recover his account. Your connections would be valid only if they are from before August 2018, before the password change.

About the email thing, OP could be unaware of what all was changed as he doesn't know much about it.

By paying attention at the merit history, you can easily track up the hacker, and he is surely not from Canada as per his posting style and him posting in Shri Lankan thread.

I found the hacker... i looked up his telegram account   which  Yoshi posted... the account name is @CryptoNK... if you go and type  that in telegra his first and last name will show up...  he was using his first and last name on telegram with picture... i send him a message and he reply but when i told him that you hack my account he ignore me right away and remove his profile picture... so i look his name up on facebook and he  is in fact from Sri Lanka

Like i mentioned before I live in canada  my email is in my first and last name that i use for everything including  banking paypal  all my subscriptions and for hacked account and I  can easily prove it and show government  identification or even show myself on camera live or show me going into  hotmail and show  everything  live.... I got nothing to hide.

i just searched through my emails and i just realized that it only sent me notifications for personal messages for bitcointalk but i have the all the way from 2013 and my last message was 2017 08 23 it was from Gunthar..


about trying to recover my account. that is how i found out it got hacked... because i was away from crypto but i just decided to get back to it and i need to log in to my account and send message to gunthar to prove my identity because he is who i bough gunbot from, so i was trying to log in  and passowrd wouldnt work.... so then i did reset password and  i wasnt recieving reset email.... and i tried doing reset by secret question and it wasnt working... so then i looked through my email database and i found message that said that my email and password was changed on 2018 08 06 and that bogus email.. and thats how i realized that i got hacked.

yoshi i found the guy.... the post you made earlier.. i looked up the guy on telegram and he had his first and last name... i said... hey... he ignored then . i said hey i got what you asked me..... and then he replied with ?...... then i said hey i am the guy whos account you hacked..... right away his picture disapeared from profile but  i looked up his first and last name of facebook and it was very easy to find him...
Like I said , i speak the truth so i got nothing to hide i can do anything you guys ask me to prove my identity. you want me to go live on skype and you can watch me go into my hotmail i can do that too...  you want me to show my face with my id card i can do that...  you want me to provide my facebook in my name that is exactly same name as my email adress i can do that... you want me to show that i got lots of paid subscriptions in  my name with that email i can do that... you want me to show u that my paypal is also in that adress i can do that... you wanna see the email that i recieved about account change i can do that.

I think OP is a victim of someone hacking his account and then getting it banned(via the ban evasion rule)
I saw details like the ones Yoshie posted but i didn't have enough time to through all the investigation but from what i learned the person who hacked OP's account had already been banned.

I believe he has hacked a couple of more accounts and got them banned too because as soon as the account changes hands you start to notice bounty applications using the same old telegram, twitter and Facebook usernames and  also starts posting regularly in the Sri Lankan local board

You mean the hacker is intentionally doing it to get the hacked accounts banned instead of using it for financial purposes? That is kinda something strange going on over here and we need to keep our accounts safe because if we get our accounts hacked like that and once banned for ban evasion (which is a special case IMHO), I don't think it will resolve any sooner.

How can I get my account back, like I mentioned, it is important for me to get it back because I bought a trading bot with it few years ago, and now i need to use it again for proof of Identity, I  have sent an email to the account recovery email that is provided on the forum and a message to Cyrsus but no reply, from what I saw its a long process and given that my account got hacked and banned and I had no signature, when I sent the message I just provided basic info about the email change etc,  should I try again and  perhaps provide link to this Thread?

The best thing you can do is simply be patient and wait for a response from the forum admins. There are literally millions of BitcoinTalk accounts... and I doubt you are the only one currently attempting to recover your account. Admins are busy people with real lives etc.

If you followed the instructions in the pinned post by Theymos about how to recovery accounts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0) and you provided all the necessary information, then there is nothing more you can do at this point except wait for them.

Only the admins can recover your account (and get it unbanned as well). No one else can help you regardless of any information or proof that you offer to provide.
