Title: Would you close your Bank account, when your Bank turn against Crypto?
Post by: Kprawn on November 18, 2019, 03:03:54 PM
We see a lot of these Banks that wants to sabotage Bitcoin and Crypto currencies by closing people's Bank accounts. When this happened in

countries like Australia, some people closed their Bank accounts in support of these people and they moved their business to other Banks that

supported Crypto currencies. They also took this to court and the court decided that this was anti-competitive behavior and they were forced to

stop that. So, the question is simple : Would you close your Bank accounts, when your Bank turn against Crypto?

Do we need new Banks that would go up against these large Banks to facilitate the conversion of Fiat to Crypto currencies? I think Banks doing this

will quickly change their policies, once millions of people start moving their accounts to Banks that supports Crypto currencies.

We do not need Banks, because P2P conversion is possible without Banks, but it just makes things so much easier for people dealing with exchanges.

Where I have my account I also have a pending loan and also it's the bank preferred by my employer.
So unless I change my job and I also get enough money to pay back my debts, the chances to leave that bank are slim.

And I hope that by the day my loan is paid, Bitcoin also gets recognised properly as a coin everywhere.

It's the same for me. We are stuck with banks not because we are using it to buy or sell bitcoin or crypto but the crypto hasn't replaced our need for banks.
Even if some of us use bitcoin as it is to trader, there would still be a lot of people who won't accept or use bitcoins mostly because they are not familiar with it.
For crypto to replace banks, eveyone needs to be familiar to crypto and be legalized by governments as legal person won't be able to do illegal trades.

For me is hard to make cash from Bitcoins without a bank account, because sell bitcoins for cash in a third world country isn't secure at all. So, if the banks turn against crypto in my country i would find the way to sell my BTC  with a bank transfer making it looks like I'm selling some other stuff.  But closing the bank account isn't an option at all for now.

I need my bank account as well, but I live in an area where there are quite a few options and I could switch banks easily if I wanted to.  Having said that, I have no clue what my bank thinks about bitcoin because they're not one of the "big banks" that make public statements about crypto.  I think if my bank made it known that they were against cryptocurrencies (whatever that means), I might consider moving to another bank, but who really knows what the next bank thinks or even how significant it is.  The only thing I use my checking account for in terms of crypto is to occasionally buy bitcoin with PayPal by funding my PP account via my bank.  There haven't been any problems with that so far.

OP, do you have any links about that Australia situation?  I haven't read anything about that, and now it's making me curious as to what happened.  I'll google it, but it would be nice if you could provide a link to reference what you're talking about.

But to answer OP's question, I won't close my bank account. There are still financial transactions that needs to be done via my bank account. So even if they are not pro-crypto, would still use their services.

I would if this was one bank and some other ones were pro crypto. I'd resign and move everything to another bank.

If we're talking about all the banks being against it and leaving would make me have to use cash it's mostly impossible because I'm earning fiat every month. I doubt that people who are paying me would be willing to do it in cash. Their accounting depends on being able to send all fiat transfers on the same date so not having a bank account would mean no fiat income for me.

I'm not ready for it but I think time will come that I wouldn't care about my bank account anymore if btc's price is already too much. And if there will be a bank that's going to be in the middle of fiat vs crypto war.

Then, that would be a great deal for me and to the others.

Australian banks ban bitcoin?

as long as i still can use it to deposit cash there, i wouldn't close my account but pretty sure they know when to close my account since i'd rather not use nor notify them anymore if my intent is to close it. there are several banks accounts i have. its easy to open one though, agents are very welcoming as long as you got money to deposit into it. if they turn against crypto, i'd have no other choice but to move some banks that accepts it.

80% of the voting poll disagreed that they would not leave the bank even against crypto. I'm also one of them because I think it is safer to store my funds in the bank and in the event that my money lose in their care, they can refund my funds.
But if there is a crypto regulation and scam exchanges are avoided, scam ico we can now see the full trust of people in crypto as well as 80% now voting against it.

In my own opinion, i will not close my bank account when they turn against crypto, even it makes me angry about it, i will still store some of my funds to them for safety because i can't do anything about it to make them not to turned against crypto that they are also supported by the government, so it's better to step aside and do nothing.

not if there are still bank that can accept crypt so far its still safe and I don't think to go ,unless all banks attack crypto so I want to close my account bank ,anyway payments can still be made through crypto to buy goods or exchange into fiat but slim possibility because on a daily basis between my families still use bank services "local"

Currently most of the banks are not in good terms with crypto so as much as possible I avoid transacting crypto with my own bank and even if they are against with crypto, I will not close my account because I still use it in different type of real-life transactions unless they become sketchy when they found out that I'm involve in crypto.

for me, if ever my current bank close my account because the transaction came from crypto ill try another bank instead
looking for an alternative is better than wasting time talking to them to the thing they don't want to understand, a bank is only an option.
as a crypto user, we can trade directly to the other person and i know some of them will be happy to buy our crypto

It happened way back when there were still a lot of hostility between Banks and Crypto currencies. A lot of things changed since then and some of

these Banks has changed their stance and become a lot more Crypto friendly since then. A long time after this, The Australian Competition and

Consumer Commission (ACCC) has concluded that Australian banks did not collude in blocking services for bitcoin firms and that a full investigation

into the affair is not necessary. Source : https://www.coindesk.com/accc-australian-banks-collusion-bitcoin-accounts

As for anything related to Banks and Government regulators, things gets muddy and it was criticized for not doing proper research and speaking

with the affected companies and individuals.  ::)

It is early days, but I am amazed how loyal people are to their local Banks.  ???

I might do the same as you although it all depends actually to what is going to happen after my bank turning against to crypto. I might have to choose the bank account to remain instead but just like i said it's all depends on what would be the bank final statement and action. Although it is actually happening in a real world where bank doesn't allow any money came from cryptocurrency and that's just saddened me.

As much as I want to give a statement against them there are things simply impossible to do. What if the bank that is against crypto is also my payroll account? Could I really do something against it? With this scenario we really don't have any choice left to do. If they don't accept crypto related transactions then it's their lost and the only thing we can do is to wait that they realize it on their own. Which we have seen a lot of times already with big companies like how Starbucks changed its views towards Bitcoin.

Well, we gotta do some financial activities through bank. We can't avoid Bank and #BeMyOwnBank as long as the system is not changed. However, I wouldn't use a bank service if I had alternative which support crypto and related stuff.
Although I'm not using bank services much, I have a lot of reason to avoid bank transaction. At least, still I try to avoid as much as possible. I had a very bad day some days ago. My uncle sent a big amount in my bank account and when I went to withdraw the fund, I had to wait more than 3/4 hours for liquidity problem of bank which was a very bad experience. Why will I give the control power of my money to others? I would instantly close all of my bank accounts if possible.

First question is how would bank know I have crypto assets ? Secondly, banks along with other centralized financial institutes are already againest crypt, that's a proven fact. But I still need my bank a account to carry out routine financial transactions and you obviously need bank account to buy crypto.

banks can only track transactions related to exchanges, especially when using a visa / master card. Transactions that do not make sense from other aspects are not included in the strict crypto category.

a rash move if closing a bank account now because it still has a very vital role. I read there are cases of account freeze in Turkey related to crypto, this is also a worrying thing. we better stay balanced in both activities.

True, I meant in the third world countries is kinda hard to sell bitcoin for cash so most of the time you should wether sell them in the internet or you can just deal with someone who wants to buy your crypto in your local place. When I'm talking about bitcoin, I'm not dealing with banks here in my countries cause we don't have banks accept bitcoin in my country so I don't have to close my bank account.

This scenario is not fully operational right now as it stands now. The need for traditional banking system is still very much high, crypto hasn't reached that level of flexibility offered by the bank.  Best bet is to open another bank account and move your money there, banks are pretty inevitable for now.

you can simply switch the bank for your payroll, but if you don't have any options well that is hard choice.

say no more as a die-hard crypto enthusiast i will leave them , there a lot of banks to deal with unless if every single bank is against crypto which i believe this scenario won't happened or have a very small chance happened.
let's say all banks against crypto, there is a problem and there is solution, when this scenario happened i think there will be new bank that crypto-based popping up as a startup maybe? who knows?

the point is that as long as the bank services that against crypto did not interfere my crypto activity , i won't bother if they do announce that they are against crypto.

I’ve changed banks during my working life, and I have no hard feelings to change them again, or even not to use any bank service at all
The only obstacle nowdays is a low crypro adoption, but I live in a zone where people has cash, not a lot of cash, but using cash instead using a plastic card is normal, so there is always  a way to sell crypto for cash (with strangers also)
I am just waiting the moment where most shops and servicies will acept crypto directly, wallet to wallet, at that point, say goodbye to the banking system forever

I am fully supporting the bank system extinction

It's been a while since I don't use bank, though I have banks for cashing out that can also be done thru remittance centers but will be much better in banks for smoother process. I think using bank accounts will depend on the countries we live in as in my country I am able to pay bills thru crypto application, buy Internet loads and transfer money to someone I know that which is bank or mobile banking can do. The only difference for me now is banks can be used in any stores to pay, crypto still limited in adoption.

In Australia, It's pretty hard to get by, since a lot of the banks there all hate crypto-currencies, basically all of the top 5 do, and it's quite difficult to get by, especially since the banks will close your accounts if it's related to crypto trading or other stuff.

It's impossible to live without a bank account to be honest, and even though you might be a huge bitcoin and crypto-supporter, it's fine for you to use a regular bank account. Life would be too hard otherwise, and it's not hard to not get banned from your banks.

Probably no. I know that my main bank have negative attitude towards crypto and I heard that they closed some accounts which had crypto related transactions. So, I try to keep my crypto activities separate from my bank.
I wouldn't close my bank account mainly because there are no good alternatives for it and all major banks in my country aren't positive about crypto. There is some neobanks which aren't against crypto, but I don't trust them enough to put all my savings there.
And another reason, it would be almost impossible to live with crypto only now, we aren't ready for it yet. I still need fiat.

My answer would be NO.
I know that most banks are not crypto-friendly as it possesses a risk against their businesses but I won't close my bank account with them because I need them for personal transactions like receiving payments and paying my bills.

There are other companies with apps that manages crypto funds so personally I think it is good to have them separately.

I will not close my savings account even though my bank is against bitcoin. because I think the bank has its own policy of accepting or rejecting bitcoin. and that has nothing to do with us. although I am also a bitcoin investor I will still need a bank for daily transactions. and to cash in on bitcoin I need a bank. so even though the bank does not support bitcoin then I will still use the bank.

Same situation with cashing out bitcoin... And also it's hard to just close your bank account just because they don't support bitcoin. When your account is important to you as well as the bank, I won't close mine. It's normal for banks to not be supportive with crypto though... Unless if I'm facing problems with the bank, with regards to my involvement with cryptocurrency, I might consider it and move to another bank depending on the situation.

And also most of the salaries are paid in fiats, if we don't have any bank accounts, we are just like cut the ties between us and the government, it would be better if we incorporate our own selves with both cryptocurrency, banks and government basically, showing support both for these parties will induce positive effects. In the first place they are also doing their best to keep our money safe, why would we turn against them? Let them know the benefits of crypto and let us respect their business as well.

That is the good thing with local financial services that offers other options when withdrawing their funds from bitcoin or other crypto. But not every country have the same option.
It's true, an option of closing a bank account will depend on your own satisfaction in their service and not because they are just against crypto. Finding an alternative option to cash out funds from crypto can be solved easily without closing your bank account.

As much as this would be a very nice thing to do, the stories of horror that has been heard about exchanges makes me think that I would stick with the banks and take my changes instead, and if you think your funds are SAFU, You might wanna read this: https://twitter.com/crypto_c00kie/status/1196463697822134272

The fact is that at the level that Cryptocurrencies are right now, you cannot make your daily transactions using Cryptocurrencies, your local restaurants might not accept Cryptocurrency, Your Grandma might not accept Cryptocurrency, your hospital might not accept Cryptocurrency and the list goes on and on, presently I don't see that working but we all know it would be in the future when worldwide adoption is finally real.

I don't want to close my bank accounts. I don't know if my bank will turn against crypto or not because, until now, my government still not stating crypto. Besides that, I think people still need the banks because they still make a transaction using the bank itself.

I am not sure if the bank will against crypto, especially if they know that crypto can help them to solve the problem in their institutions. So far, I never think about that, and I prefer to use both bank and crypto, to saving and to make money.

I will not close my bank account just because they started to against crypto, why? because all of my transactions are still using the bank and currently I have account in a marketplace where I sell my things that if I want to withdrawn money from sales still need a bank account, I would prefer search other alternatives to exchange my BTC to Fiat rather than closing my bank account. Many will think the same not ready to do that, bank is a long-standing system and is not easy to change the existing to a new system.

What do you say? Please participate in the Poll.  :P
Any bank that is anti-crypto I am not going to do business with them I see crypto as a financial revolution thus as an alternative to bank every individual should have freedom on what to with their money, banks sees cryptos as a major threat to their existence even as P2P transactions in cryptos is swift and fast thus putting more pressures on banks once the possibility of cashing out fiat from cryptos without banks then banking jobs would be on threshold of elimination.

Here in my country, there is a big commercial bank that is actively shooing away people who are involved with cryptocurrency. There had been instances that the bank advised their clients to close the accounts upon learning that they are into cryptocurrency. What is amazing is that there is actually no directive from the central bank for such a policy so the bank is doing things on their own initiative. Well, I would certainly don't want to be working with a bank that is not really friendly with cryptocurrency or will not allow any money coming from cryptocurrency. Rather than risk my money to be investigated and be held for some time, closing the account can be the best alternative. Certainly, there are so many banks one can go to which may not be strict in their policy towards cryptocurrency. It is unfortunate that we actually still need banks right now, P2P remains to be a very underutilized option.

What if the bank that is previously supporting crypto suddenly changed their decision and stop supporting it, would you close it? The point here is, if whether you continue or stop using their service and it is not about if you are gonna choose a bank that is against crypto.
Well, as you said you are not gonna use any banks that is against it, so the answer would be obvious, that you might close your bank account if they are not supporting cryptocurrency.

As for me, I will not close my account, I will continue to save my funds in that bank even if they don't support crypto, I can use different banks I want and as many as I can, so I don't see any difference if I close one.

No friend, I would not close a Bank account because it is the only way to interact in finance sphere at this time. If cryptocurrencies starts to be accepted for payment as well as Fiat money, then perhaps I would think about closing a Bank account, but in the current realities, it's like cutting off the wires that supply electricity to an apartment.

Probably not. Or else I might have to close all my bank accounts. LOL. While many banks here in my country are already testing the blockchain technology and at least one of them has already its own stablecoin, they are still generally unfriendly toward Bitcoin and crypto in terms of individual accounts. They do not consider Bitcoin or crypto as source of fund and if there is a transaction involving Bitcoin or crypto, it will have to be explained thoroughly or face the risk of having the account frozen or closed.

But at this particular point, I don't think I will move to another bank simply because of this. I need them differently, I mean not in the same way I need crypto.

Yeah, I think I will move my funds to another bank which not against Crypto, I am sure a Bank that supports Crypto will be the right choice for Crypto users. And I predict that in the future there will be many banks support Crypto, if not, they will be left behind by the Millennial community.

I will not close my bank account. now in my country almost every banks are friendly with cryptocurrency so I didn't think to close it.
if one day the bank in my country behaves the same thing I still will not close my account.
as long as the cryptocurrency adoption still weak, I still really need my bank account for daily transactions.
closing a bank account is not a good way to fight the bank, in my opinion there are still other ways to fight it, for example against the bank by law.

I would rather stay my account in the bank even if they are against in crypto, I can still use my bitcoin and any other cryptocurrencies even though there is no bank, I can encash it through remittances. I can still use my bitcoin wallet to store them even if I don't have a bank account.

Only if a bank ban all transactions related to exchanges, we can't deposit or withdraw if the bank decides to do that.
However, not necessary to close a bank account if one against crypto, just register a new account at another bank.
If there is a better option to deposit and withdraw without a bank account it would be more preferable for me, yet there is none for now.

It doesn't have to be one or the othrr though. It's best that you have an open bank account since some legal matters like applying for a visa in certain countries require one. You can have a separate wallet for you crypto any time. There's no need to have just one. And no, i won't close my bank account if my bank doesn't support crypto. I'd simply keep a separate stash for both.

We should by now know that bitcoin and bank we still serve different purposes as long as the world is still divided in opinion on cryptocurrency. More so, expect the first world governments own a larger percentage of bitcoin, giving bitcoin so much power in exchange over fiat will put power to wrong hands which are whales in this space. We know at the presence that we are at their mercy and how oppressive they have been in recent months.

No I won't, it's very hard if not impossible to live in modern world without a bank account, especially if most of you activity is online-based. I could do it as a protest against their hostility towards crypto and then switch to another bank, but what would it achieve? It's not like the rest of the population will do the same. The only thing that will make me close my bank account is if it will be too expensive to withdraw crypto to it.

The answer is No. It's too much hassle to close down accounts and shut down all your direct debits and so on, and move them.

It's better to open a separate account for all your crypto stuff (and you can easily transfer money between these accounts if you need to).

I do not think hard when this happens, BANK need customers not customers or users who need BANK, there are no customers, BANK will go bankrupt instead, so if they do that in my country, obviously I will close the account at the BANK and open at the BANK other, because in my country it is easy to create a BANK account so there is no problem closing a BANK account if they do so

We all still need to have bank account, even we don't have any crypto transactions to deal with it since many still not accept crypto as a currency, a payment or as an investment. We need banks to atleast hold some of our money like emergency fund for events that are uncertain. Both banks and crypto can works best as an option of which ever is available when we need it.

Um, no. I don't have a bank account for fun. I need it to stay alive by buying stuff like food and that.

I naturally assume any bank is hostile to crypto so don't bother running any crypto money through it. When the time comes to sell some it'll be through an account I don't mind losing if necessary.

I think the banks are just worried about remaining compliant. Nobody wants to lose their job because of Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Depending on what country that you reside in, the regulations and governing bodies will end to vary. In India reaction to Bitcoin and crypto started off initially harsh, with the Big bank threatening to close accounts or cut off their affiliations with individuals & business entities if they attempt to provide crypto related services to people. The decision to remove a bank account and open up a new one elsewhere may not be viable or even available to people within every county. Some countries don't have the luxury of having numerous different banks for their citizens to choose from.

I'll find some service who can be able to change bitcoin to money fiat first and after that I'll close my bank account. I use bitcoin just for side income and no more than that. So, I'll be useless if I had bitcoin and I didn't send my bitcoin to money fiat (bank account) and yeah I can't do anything. For the money thing I can't be separated from the utilization of bank (I guess most people here are same), in fact it is the main bridge or the main requirement for investors who want to invest in crypto. But it really impossible now in my country (banned crypto) since my country have included cryptocurrencies into comodity which is mean their function is like an asset.

I do have many bank accounts and a few of them have advantages like no fees on transactions anywhere in my country, more branches nationwide and fewer customers queuing daily.

Of course yes. If a bank should close my account, what it means is that they are not ready to do business with me again and there is no point forcing the business relationship all I have to do is to ensure I am able to move all my funds from such bank and move to the one that is receptive of my needs. Its that simple. There are several banks that are even looking for more active customers so it means for any exit, there is one other bank or a banker looking to increase deposit waiting for someone to signup.

I don't have a choice if that happened but to close my bank account and will just open to other bank that will be open in crypto, I would love to save in a bank that I know will not question me or that they are open to crypto and this is for my account security too as I know that they will not freeze my fund anytime they want. So, better to leave them immediately before I would struggle getting my money to them.

I only used bank because of fiat so I have no problems really and never thought about this very well. Also, if I would buy Bitcoin then there are other ways here in my country where you can go to well known remittance centers or even a convenience store like 7-11 which would happily serve you and credit the bitcoins you had purchased almost instantly. Also, I convert my bitcoins to fiat and withdraw it to an ATM machine without the need to open a bank account. It is not really much of a hassle.

This is a simple issue that we know most of the banks are not crypto-friendly so I can't take any decision against Bank, Still, Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency is struggling for its proper existence but the conventional financial system is not like this so people have t choose to their own way and most of the people still have faith on the conventional currency and fiat, so This is not the new thing that Banks is not a friend of cryptocurrency, They can't take any risk regarding their business, not only that but also it's matter of acceptability to the people, That's why I don't blame any Bank for their step against cryptocurrency.

banks that support bitcoin-blockchain are certainly the hope of many people today. if indeed the bank freezes the account like that then I have to close it, but if it really happens in general. I still remember the bitcoin halving years ago where my transaction was canceled unilaterally because it came from a certain crypto exchange, but they finally changed the rules to be soft and accepted it. I think this will happen again next year with the bitcoin hype returning strong.

I would definitely not closed my bank account because of that reason, I would just open another account in another bank that is open for this so that I can still withdraw my earnings thru bank, if all bank will not accept crypto deposit anymore, then I will find another way just like using paypal, or using remittance center then just deposit it in bank thru cash/fiat.

Personally, this will depend on my country's rules on cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin to be precise.  Banks have literally been around for quite long and majority of people living in a particular trust the banking system since they believe that the Bank can be physically seen compared to cryptocurrencies. In as much that banks might turn their backs against cryptocurrencies, I can't just close my bank account. You can't survive in world where the banking system is the main source to make transactions and with just a hand full of people into cryptocurrencies..

Oddly enough, none of the cryptocurrency users will abandon their connection with banks, despite the constant negative statements about the banking system.  The fact is that modern life and the state system dictate the conditions for humanity and no matter what opinions sound regarding cryptocurrencies, no one will ever refuse from banking services.  In any case, while it will be necessary in daily life.

I admire the courage in what the Australians did against such a policy and this is exactly what other crypto enthusiasts in other countries should mimick in case the governments make such rules in our various countries. Remember when the inhabitants of the country rises governments reason up with their proposals and policies.

Where I have my account I also have a pending loan and also it's the bank preferred by my employer.
So unless I change my job and I also get enough money to pay back my debts, the chances to leave that bank are slim.

There are no reason to close your bank account just because it turns against on crypto. Man, it doesn't have any effect so why would you do this? There are still massive number of banks that has not been in cryptocurrency yet, and closing a bank account regarding this issue is so off. Not unless your current bank is handling your crypto and suddenly turns it back, and changes direction.

Bitcoin also gets recognised properly as a coin everywhere.
Hell yeah, mass adoption is coming. According to some surveys, the user's growth of cryptocurrency is gradually increasing every year, imagine from 1% to 3% of the population who's connected to the internet already showed that they used a cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is perfect fit for future financial integrity.

It is a global issue and not just facing the people of australia but you are right with them not giving in to the banking system. In them telling their customers what to do with their own funds and what they can spend it on.
I do think the banks are scared in not knowing what to do when it comes to cryptocurrenies.
They view it as a threat to what their corporate foundation stood for these many years and cant cope with how to handle it so they just outright ban anything to do with it in disregard to the point of keeping even their long standing customers in the process.
Which I find it absurd for any viable institution such as the banking system to continue operating this way when it comes to a new technology competing with the way they run their business.

I personally wouldn't because it's not easy to shift everything over to a new bank, especially when you have been a client for nearly two decades like I have. Definitely not worth it for me.

Nowadays there are many alternative banks that you can use that aren't anti crypto. It's much easier to apply for a bank account this way until they start acting cocky too and you have to move to another bank.

I think the main reason why people avoid moving from one Bank to the next, is because the Banks are making it unnecessarily difficult for their own

customers to do it. They know they are going to lose fees and your deposits, so they make the administrative task very complicated and time

consuming. You are loyal to your Bank, but they are not loyal to you in return. <make one mistake and they will drop you like a turd>  >:(  I recently

shifted from one Bank to another and it almost took a day to get through all the red tape.  ::)

instead of switching banks, why didn't you just create an account with another bank? You could have had two accounts with different banks, this is also a way to stay safe in case one day one of the banks goes bankrupt or can no longer handle cryptos. In my country the requirements to open bank account are the same requirements for all banks, but the problem is that each bank is slower to serve its customers, so I choose the bank in my country that takes less time to serve its customers.

If I find a bank that is against cryptocurrency, I will not close my bank account. Because it must be recognized for now the role
of the bank is still quite important for human life. I still need a bank for a home purchase loan and  some of my bill payments
also use bank services. But if in the future cryptocurrency is increasingly known by many people have also been legalized all over
the world. Possibly the role of cryptocurrency can replace banks, when that happens there is a possibility I can close my bank
account and choose to use full cryptocurrency.

Basically banks will not let their industry be forgotten by people, they have already so many connections in the society, if we are to close our bank accounts, banks will not have any function anymore, and if we are to be on their shoes, we will absolutely think of possible solutions whether it could be to oppose cryptocurrency, or think of the way to utilize cryptocurrency so we can still be preferred by the people.

of course I will not close my bank account even though my bank is against crypto. because I will always need a bank to take out money loans and also to send fiat money to my family and relatives. in my country not allowed to use bitcoin as a means of payment. so that in transactions or bill payments I still use the bank. banks have been around for a long time and we have been using them for years. it will be quite difficult for us to leave the banking system. unless the government legalizes and provides facilities that support crypto then I will switch to using cryptocurrency.

I think I will not close my bank account. I need my bank account for now because it is where I store my fiat savings. I also need it for my payroll. Another thing is that banks are offering loans and credits for me. I cannot avoid but take those offers whenever the need arises. That is how important my bank account for now. But I prefer that my bank is crypto-friendly.

Since the introduction of blockchain technology and bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, centralized institutions have always been against the ideology of cryptocurrency. The banks to specific have been against the use and adoption of cryptocurrency since the day cryptocurrency was made public to everyone.  Personally, I don't have a reason that will make me close my bank account just because the bank to not agree with the ideologies of cryptocurrency.  I believe that both cryptocurrency and the bank need each other to promote easier transaction of funds around the world. The adoption of cryptocurrency in banks will eliminate their fees they paid to other companies when sending funds to other banks outside their range of transactions.

For me banks still the best option to save your saving rather than cryptos wallet. Banks has it own insurance but cryptos doesnt yet have any insurance on it if anything happen to our cryptos. So im still thinking banks is still the best place to save your saving and cryptos just for a short term investment for me.  Both are still the best place to make money and saving your money.

if it really happened maybe I wouldn't do it because it was not an easy thing for me to close my financial bank account because now for me banking is still very important when I want to withdraw money with my bank account to provide snacks for children or my family to buy them equipment or daily necessities, it is logically impossible if I give snacks to my children by giving them bitcoin.

I would say no. In the Philippines, most banks aren't adopting crypto and blockchain in their system. I'm just lucky and proud that my main bank, Unionbank of the Philippines, is the first in the country to have a regulated crypto ATM.

If in case one of my banks turned against crypto, there are still lots of banks out there for me to choose from. For now, banks are still useful when it comes to saving money. It's just that we don't have the control as everything is watched by their "Big Bro".

But right now, I choose to store all of my funds into Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies and just less in banks.

I opened an account 6 years ago to my current bank and it has an insurance, the benefits included is quite good and I will be entitled as long as I dont close my account to them. I cant tell their stance regarding crypto but if ever they are against it I still not close my bank account and switch to other for that reason.

I need my bank to save my money and for other purposes like cash and housing loan (though it would be better if they are not against crypto). Moreover I dont see any problem everytime I cashout my btc using our local wallet directly to my bank account so I think they are not really against it (well atleast for now.).

For as long as my bank will not ban me or freeze my account, I will not close them. But the moment they know that some of my funds are coming from crypto and they will stop me from doing transactions that are related to crypto, I will not think twice of withdrawing everything and close my account. But otherwise, I will not close them. I still need them after all.

indeed the bank can still be used even though you already know bitcoin and other cryptocurrency but not many people have received payment using cryptocurrency so that today the bank still has a very high contribution for many people there are still many who use the bank, and indeed you shouldn't need to close your bank account.

Peer-to-peer (especially decentralized p2p) remains the best way to exchange money in crypto world.
"Easier" does not equal "better". I believe most of us already know why p2p is very important. This is one of the reasons we chose Bitcoin/cryptocurrency in the first place.
To be honest, once I find good, easy-to-use DEXes that work well on mobile phones, I will not use alots of platforms I use today.

Why dislike with bank, I think bank is easy how to save our money and cash out when wee need cash money, for investing with bitcoin need bank deposit cash money to exchange bitcoin account, I think without bank we can't start investing with bitcoin and altcoin, how to deposit if bank close. I think bank never trying banned bitcoin and altcoin as legal currency but they only allow what government rule with bitcoin transaction.

Idk why some people there look bitcoin as one and great escape and without it we are all dead and etc.
Why do I have to close my bank accounts if it doesn't support cryptocurrencies? Maybe they don't care and just hang on crypto.
At first I would say that banks aren't against crypto. Why to be against it when it's beneficial for you? Finally we all convert bitcoin into usd or local currency, this gives banks a great possibility to make money from them.
Closing bank accounts from average Joes means nothing (don't take it wrongly) but closing bank accounts from serious businessman is a huge push for banks, understand this.

There is no reason for me to close my bank because of those kind of reason. Why? Because my work requires me to have bank account on a specific one for me to get my salary. There's no significant difference if a bank would not support crypto currency yet.

The bank is still my main source of money and to be honest my second option is to hold a significant amount of money in bitcoin as I know it will be safe for government tax. So even if the bank were against crypto I would not leave it as it is safer to put my money in it. But if all the things in the crypto currency were going to be fine I would put my money in it and leave the bank, but it isn't today.

I will never close my bank account for that reason, but instead I will withdraw all my funds to that bank and convert it to crypto and wait till my bank accepts bitcoin again. I believe that someday banks will cooperate with cryptocurrency and withdrawing bitcoin in banks will be easy.

No, not because the company I work for requires all their employee to have an account open to a certain bank since our salary is automatically deposited there.
but because it is a hassle to open a new bank account. the bank requires you to deposit a certain amount of money(in my country) in order to open a new account.
although I like and support cryptocurrency I can't afford to open a new account and it is also a waste of time.

Yes of course, in fact, I've already done it when my former bank made a disclosure to me that they will not accept deposits coming from Crypto-related transactions, I have no problem changing my bank, I have many banks to choose from and they are not even the number one bank in our country, and if my current bank will do the same I will just shift to a more friendly bank, no banks can make me stop in my Crypto activity.

That's so irritating why wouldn't they accept something that can their deposits grow, for as long as that is not from scam. Here in our country, we've been there too, the top bank that most of depositors trusted suddenly becomes too strict and they don't accept crypto, so I don't have a choice but to open another bank account that will be able accept my deposits from crypto.

You will not stop using Fiat ATMs or even saving your Fiat currency in Banks, you will simply move your funds to a Bitcoin friendly Bank.  ::)  The

idea is not to stop using these services, because there are still a lot of services and goods that you cannot buy with bitcoins. So when your Bank

start getting difficult, you simply close your account with them and open a new account with a Bank that are Bitcoin friendly. I already influenced

my friends and family to do the same and we are all Banking with a new Bitcoin friendly Bank.  ;)

Probably no, perhaps I would consider this issue if Crypto is fully accepted in our constitution. However, more likely I would switch to other banks that would support the use of Crypto. Moreover, if Crypto is acceptable in a particular country Banks would automatically accept the use of crypto and never turn against it since this will be an issue for their clients.

If I should stop making use of my bank then where am I going to store my money, in Bitcoin? Know this - no bank will turn against crypto unless the government gives the order. And when the government gives the order it will apply to every bank in that country, none of them will accept or allow people to make use of cryptocurrencies.

I won't stop making use of bank for that, I will continue to make use of my bank and will withdraw the money I have in Bitcoin if the thing should get like really serious, just to avoid problems.

But, I do know for sure that even if the government and banks should turn against Bitcoin there is still going to be a way for me to buy and store Bitcoin and still have no problem with them and when the time comes to sell it, I will also do the same and still have no problem. They will only be able to know that you're buying and selling crypto if you're using centralized sources. I can just decide to use the Black market (local buyers and sellers) who will pay the money straight to my bank and it wouldn't seem suspicious.
