Title: Collectible Cards of Bitcointalk Users.
Post by: Basorexia on November 24, 2019, 01:06:03 PM
Hi yall!
During the protest in honor of the 10th anniversary of the forum I made collectible cards for users of the forum!
Below you can get acquainted with my work:
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg52977879#msg52977879
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg53144671#msg53144671
Many users have appreciated my idea, for which I am very grateful. I was able to get a lot of merits, and just as generous users rewarded me with donations, for which I am immensely grateful. More than 1700 comments were left in the thread with the contest, and by the amount of merit I received, my cards occupy 31 place. I feel your interest and see that a large number of people still want to receive a card.

Initially, I was thinking of making a thread where I could sell cards (make card per a fixed amount), but I decided to do it for free (because I really enjoy doing it :)).
In any case, I will be very grateful to all users who will support my work and reward me with a donation.
My wallets you can find on my profile.

In this thread you can leave your wishes, requests and offer new interesting ideas.

Sincerely, Basorexia.

Update
08/12/2019

At the moment, I do not have much free time to create cards, and letters with requests for creating cards are sent to me daily.
In this regard, I have to set the price for creating a card - 0.0007BTC or 0.035ETH.

I think that this is an adequate price for creating a unique card. You will be able to tell about your wishes (colors, characters or personages of which you want to see on the card, and so on).
The time for creating one card is from several hours to several days, depending on the number of applicants and the queue.

Anyone who I promised to make a card for free will receive it before the New Year holidays.

Thank yall for your support, I really appreciate it!

UPDATE 28.02.2020
I started creating physical cards for users.
Anyone can also get their card.
All details are in PM.

wow you are good at it. You should hook the up on ERC721 or ERC1155 chain so we can trade them. And maybe build a game on top.

If you are making it for free, can i request one for myself ?  Also how will you make the card ? Will you need any knowledge of members before you can actually develop the card according to the personality ?

I like your idea and great work. I am a late bitcoin collector after years of doubts and analysis and I finally believe bitcoin has fully inspired many different types of collectors specially the artworks and coins. Since I did not started collecting bitcoin related to crypto and I am away late. I started this late year. At least one great crypto collector item such as yours to be proud.

I like to have one of your very first or the second cards.  :) Y never know I may get lucky.

I am a pokimon super-hero and super heroin collector of different kinds.

I really like your initiatives. The cards are great looking and I am sure y will there in the top. Y r the first person coming up with this idea that has tremendous visibility to the card collectors.

I wish y all the est lucks.

I'd just suggest making them of good quality, and printing them on similar material to that of poker cards or for truly unique users use holographic card. I've proposed a few ideas over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202418.msg53109435#msg53109435

Obviously, if you're planning on making these then it might be worth considering the copyrighted content that's been used on the designs. Depends, if you care about that or not.  Also, taking everything above into account you could probably charge for your services, and I'm sure users wouldn't mind. Especially, if they're of good quality.

This is just an idea for y to get maximum positive exposure in the world.

Use bitcoin hologram with bitcoin address.
Use metal round around the edges.
Have a signature on the back of the card.
Please make each card type extremely limited to 10
When yo will come up with 2nd round of cards y can increase the quantity.

Please do not forget about me. I saw your awesome cards. They are awesome simply.put.

This is just an idea to get maximum exposure in the entire world -

- First 5 cards (Gold stamp)
- Next 10 cards (Silver stamp)
- Next 20 cards (Bronze stamp)

Please do not forget about me!

This is just an idea for your awesome card to get maximum exposure in the world

How about a bitcoin slogan on your cards. I came up with one see if y like it.

It is "Crypto Universal Revolution"

Please do not forget about me!  :)

One of the only things many of us don't have are any sort of Collectibles with our own forum name's on them. CryptoImperator was floating the idea with the magic internet money coin when it was suggested as the official 10th anniversary collectible but then that fell through.

If well done you'd have many buyers for their own cards and I'm sure some people would buy 1 of each that are made. Do it right and you have a great idea here!

Your biggest mistake here was saying that you'd do them for free with a donation as an option. You will be sat for hours doing these for no reward, thats one way to suck the fun out of something.

Maybe. I don’t want to scare people away at the cost. I understand that this is work, and that work must be paid. But I also understand very well that there will be people who can support my hobby and make a donation. Now I am also interested in merit, because I want to up my account.
To do something solely for the sake of money is unreasonable, imho. Perhaps in the future I will reconsider my point of view.  :D

When y do something for the society for free y are actually doing something meaning y r giving away and in return y don want anything. Over time, y will be recognized. . If y charge for something that y are giving that is not giveaway. To build up the reputation there has to be consistency.

Your creations is superv and valuable. I personally think giving away first 20-30 cards will only strengthen your reputation and motivation.

I am sure people over here including me as per your request gave you valuable ideas to improve your creation.

All together everything is great! :)

Yes, it is desirable that there would be a unique avatar, or another unique clue (nickname, personal text) from which you can push off and make a card.

Oh, I see! This will certainly be lot harder for you, then. Please feel free not to proceed with my request if it demands too much from you.  :D

But in case you want to proceed and my username and personal text are not suggestive enough, I remember giving this set of info when I was asking for a unique logo. This might help. Thanks!  :D

Quote
#2 - Describe your business/brand/org/ICO/yourself in exactly one single word
nature-lover
#3 - What's your logo idea in exactly one sentence?
I'm thinking of a compass, boot marks, mountains, beach/sea/ocean representing my being a traveler, newbie mountaineer, and beach lover.
#4 - Are there any pre-existing brand colors or preferred colors that should be present in the logo?
Reggae colors: green, yellow, and red
#5 - (optional) What's your (business) vision or motto?

Hi y`all! Tonight I will post 6 new cards here! Stay tuned in the thread! I will continue to make several cards a day, and I will make them for everyone who wanna. First of all, I make cards for high ranks (preferably with a unique avatar, unique personal text), but I will also make cards for other users, but this will take more time.

Also, a vote is being held among the best entries in the contest (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204528.0). You can also cast your vote.

Have a nice day.
Sincerely, Bas.

Here are some more ideas.

- Add bitcoin address to these cards to make them more collectible.
- Serialize and add sequential numbers to these cards.
- Add holograms to these cards.
- Use glossy goldish paper.
- Make 2D Lenticular cards.

- Hand sing the cards along with a stamp saying Bitcointalk.org on the back of the card.
- Keep Track of all cards and have them sequentially numbered.
- If these are your 1st time making. y can use the beta on the edge of the card.  [img]https://s.kaskus.id/images/smilies/sumbangan/47.gif[/im

BTC BTC BTC Can you work with Pokepon Company to release these cards as a special addition. That will be extraordinary.

Here is a super idea for your card no one has done it before
How about create a misery 2d Lenticular card which will have combination of two cards. when you move this card you can see one card after another.

owlcatz - good idea. Will remember!

New batch of cards!
I apologize for the delay in issuing cards.
I was busy, and could not finish the promised cards today.
They will be released a few days later.
The new batch will consist of approximately 6 cards.

I also want to inform that from now on I will make cards first for those users who have made a donation, and then for users who want a card for free.
Every day I receive new applications for creating cards, and now to make all the orders I need to make more than 20(!) cards.

I will definitely make cards for everyone, but it may take some time!

Thank yall!

Sincerely, Bas.

Basorexia - I observed something that is missing from your cards and it is the edition symbol unless you have previously created 1st edition pokemon cards. 1st Edition means the first run of cards for that release. Each 1st Edition card released gets a neat little stamp, just below the featured Pokémon, to signify it's 1st Edition status.

Here is the 1st edition image https://relentlessdragon.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/pokemon-1st-edition-symbol-01.png

Added:

Also right after the main panel picture you can add one line describing the character length and weight as just like pokemon cards.

Here are all the pokemon card sets symbols https://cardmavin.com/pokemon/pokemon-card-set-symbols

Hi yall! I didn’t go here for a few days, because i had a lot of work.
Unfortunately, today, in addition to creating cards, I need to work :(

Tomorrow I will send a few new cards here and on the weekend there will be a new batch (approximately 8 cards).

Thank you all very much for your support and your help.
You motivate me to develop.

Have a nice evening everyone!

Thank you, I know about the existence of this website.
Also I’m thinking about creating individual signs for Bitcointalk users.
But perhaps this will not happen now, but in the distant future.
It is likely that at this stage I will use these signs.
Thx!

Also i want to make another announcement regarding the cards.
I have a lot of work right now, and unfortunately I don’t have much time to create cards.
I will create free cards for everyone, who i has already promised to make them, but it will not be fast.
I believe that several cards a week will be issued, and by the New Year holidays, all the people to whom I promised to make a card will receive it.
I will also be happy to make cards for other comers, but for a small fee.
The price for creating 1 card is BTC0.0007BTC or 0.035ETH.
You can make a donation greater than this amount, I will be very grateful to you.

Thank yall!

Today I will post here new batch, where will be 2 or 3 cards.

Wow, this is insanely cool !! brilliant idea!
Bro, can you make a card for me? I don’t have money to pay now, but I maybe I do it in the future!
I want a card with Oprah Winfrey.
I just don't understand how you have money for internet, the phone or computer you are on etc..... but you don't have a few bits for something you want made a member who is putting their time in on this.

"but maybe I do it in the future" is ignorant...... and to be honest, NOBODY should be taking these without tipping the maker.  If you did.... you are a cheap f**k!!

Is there any way to make sure that one can duplicate these cards?

Here are couple of suggestion I can give you. The money you will spent now to produce these it will be well worth for your publicity and future contract with pokemon. With bitcointalk.org community backup yo can come up with Pokemon company contract. Since you are putting all of efforts you should take this to ultimate level and it will be history - just like coldkey.

For now you can do these to make sure no duplication happens:

- Hologram sticker on the card.
- Customized embossed stamp on these cards.
- Serialize them.
- Hot foil which will have your signature.
- Bitcoin address.

You are spending your ultimate creativity - take it to the best level.

I think a lot about this, and try to find the best way to resolve this issue.
Now, the creation of the first physical cards is a priority for me, and then I plan to tackle the issue of copyright.

Hey Bas!

Thanks for the card, I appreciate your time and effort! Looks really nice, and blue/cyan is my favourite colour!

One thing to change if you can, spell my username as AlcoHoDL (preserve the capitalization - A, H and DL capitals).

Merited, thx again and Happy 2020!  :)

Every single card is awesome.

Damn Raja_MBZ, I was also very into Pokémon :)

Though I have lost interest ::) .... I did rejoin the world with Pokémon go, and had an amazing account with everything top level until mewtwo releases.... there I did throw my towel in the ring and stopped as I was just playing to much and to much time went in that game, it drove my GF nuts when we where on holidays and stuff.....

I just gave that full like really full full account to a kid for free (knowing I pumped some money in that game to achieve goals a bit faster ::) )

I saved up money for a long time to start my production, and so now I managed to buy an inkjet printer, unique holographic laminates and films.
All materials are made at the highest level.
The cards will be awsome!

I believe you want to make these collectible. I think that If you reprint the same cards at buyer request, same buyers can sell the same cards multiple times to many people which will devalue the cards.

Basorexia has gone from creating beautiful digital cards for members to now being able to produce beautiful physical cards. I'd say he's doing something right as he has some of the largest names in Collectibles lining up for their cards.

Basorexia your transition from digital to now physical is a joy to watch and I hope you keep on innovating. Love to see what you're doing. You don't need suggestions and ideas that will make you "bigger and more famous than Casuscius"
And on that note acemax, we all know that you are alamjob239.

Some people ask me what kind of production and how I will create cards ... Or how I managed to agree with the card manufacturers to create small batches...
So, I create absolutely all the cards manually, from start to finish. This is completely manual work, ranging from ideas to release.
I print cards also at home, especially for this I purchased an inkjet printer, ordered a holographic laminate and special paper for printing such products.
I work on my own, I do not have assistants, designers and printing partners who will do this for me.
Maybe something will change in the future, but today everything is as I listed above.

Thank you for the awesome cards.

Yeah, all the more reason to ignore the idiot. By making a card for this ban-dodging loser, I will consider mine devalued, so I'll pay you as well not to! :P

Within a few days I will make a new post with physical cards.
I also accept orders to create new cards and create new physical cards.
Now I am at the testing stage and looking for the most suitable option for creating cards.
Today I do not set a fixed price for the creation of physical cards, but soon this will change.

Thank you all for your support! I appreciate your help!

If you're buying it to support the innovation and future projects from Basorexia. Yes

Hey guys are these worth $35-$40 shipped?
Yes, it’s not as cheap as we would like ... But buddy, please understand this is handmade, I bought a printer specifically for this, ordered holographic paper, a laminate for printing and other accessories ...
Also, please take into account the fact that I live in Ukraine, the international delivery service is completely undeveloped here ... I found the best option where the price-speed of delivery ratio is most acceptable.

This is not my main way of income, I practically do not earn from this. This is my hobby, which helps me distract from the routine and brings me pleasure. And I hope it also brings you pleasure.
If I write $ 30 for a physical card, this price includes absolutely everything: creating an electronic card, creating a physical card and delivery.

I also want to inform you that all the money that I get for creating cards - I  reinvest. I am saving up money to buy better materials for creating cards, because today quality does not satisfy me 100%.
Thank you for understanding!

Well it makes it a bit difficult collecting other cards at this pricing hopefully contributing this round lowers the price.
(I'm still in and I have been PMing you :) )
If I could reship for you or something I think that would be the best way to support you on my end. You ship one package to me I reship here in states for state side purchasers , make them to order send out one package a month or something.

To be honest/fair, I had a chat over 2 weeks ago with Bas and suggested he contact MJ for distribution so he could save himself and us $.

I don't know if he followed up on it or not, but don't feel like your toes were stepped on - Hell, I could do the same thing, but I don't have the time or patience! :D

He tagged him because the guy is an idiot who can't run a proper auction. I wouldn't exactly say that's forcing anyone to do anything. :P

Cheers!

Why would anybody want to trust a member with this on their trust ratings: “Selling trust. You should probably ignore this profile's sent feedback”

As a new buyer in this forum, I am always relieved when I purchase items from well trusted members. I don’t like patience or demonstrating trusts in noobs, most people would agree.

I just prefer my items go somewhere trusted for reshipment.  No reason for you to have my information.  Don't worry about me, I'm consistent and fair.  I stick to facts.  You just stay in your lane and look at minerjones trust compared to yours.  Of course I point people in MJs direction, it's safest for all parties involved.

p.s. thanks owl.... people only see what they want to so thanks for pointing out the difference.

Admittedly , I have an "opinionated" red flag.
Considering my other feedback I'd probably take it with a grain of salt, as I would your "opinionated" feedbacks.
I support MJ as well dont get me wrong, I've even used mantis sig before, but I shouldn't be cornered into a monopoly on a mostly decentralized platform about a decentralized currency, when I simply was stepping up where I saw a void when no one else did. I thought I was being nice  and showing some ambition toward my community by being proactive. Commenting "No Offence But.." is kinda rude imo but thats my opinion. I see why you guys all back door deals now due to public criticism.   Basorexia I'd go with MJ at this point period, as choosing not too would apparently jeopardize your project(if you chose to drop ship with* me anyways).

I don't think he was being short, just honest bro! There is no conspiracy against anyone who wants to do this kind of stuff... We don't all do "back door deals" either, I don't even know where you get that from, lol ::)

That said, I commend you for stepping up, it's all good, but mantis prime has outdone everyone else, so.... he's like the amazon of bitcointalk lol.. :D

I thought about doing the same thing a few years ago, but realized it was not worth my time and hassle. /shrug.

Anyhow - My advice is to just grow a thicker skin, there will always be people here who might annoy you or whatnot...

Hi! I sent the second part of the cards on March 7th.
They are already on their way to you. Yesterday I called up the postal service, they said that there should be no delays in connection with the situation. They told me that they will deliver everything on time and do everything that is required of them.
Delivery from Ukraine is not the fastest, so you have to wait a bit.
In a few days, I will phone them again and clarify the information regarding deliveries.

Sincerely, Bas.

Since this is an international delivery, there is no tracker. More precisely, I have documents and an invoice, but you can’t track the delivery on it.
They deliver to the local postal delivery service at a specific point in each city, and only then this service creates delivery to your personal address. This system helps to save on delivery, since personaly delivery from Ukraine is quite expensive.
All postage and duties are already paid, do not worry.
You just have to wait.

Sincerely, Bas.

I don't believe a single person has received their card yet, let alone the new toys you are making.  I'm starting to worry to be honest.  I sent you bits nearly 2 months ago and nothing has arrived.  Even snail mail from the other side of the world would get here by now.  I'd like a PM with proof my card was sent.  If you can't provide proof and my card does not show up I'll be forced to give you red trust.  I'd ask others who have paid and seen nothing in return to do the same.

I ordered a sweater from South Africa once, and it was shipped in mid-Dec, and I received it in USA in early February I think. I just came across this thread cause I was interested in maybe ordering a card, so hopefully it is legit...

although I am not waiting for a physical delivery from you (at least not yet), I was wondering... what kind of delivery method did you choose to dispatch the physical card & the cars?

Did you used ukrposhta or other postal service (i.e. EMS Ukraine, etc.)

I had International delivery (in the past) from ukrposhta, and my letter (it was a small letter size envelope) was indeed trackable (there was a tracking number included).

Would it be possible to check please, at the invoice that you got (and prolly at the documents) if there is a tracking number being mentioned somewhere in between the lines?
The tracking number should consist of a 13 alphanumerical string in the following format: 2 letters, following by nine numbers, following by the letters "UA" ie. AB123456789UA

I am just trying to help here...
(In case that you actually found a tracking number, please do not post it here, for privacy reasons, but rather through PM's)

BTW, did you forgot my physical card, or you are still working on it?  :P (I can patiently wait, that's not an issue. Please take your time, for ensuring the best possible outcome)

please and thank you!  :)

Soon I will release the first physical cards.
I saved up money for a long time to start my production, and so now I managed to buy an inkjet printer, unique holographic laminates and films.
All materials are made at the highest level.
The cards will be awsome!

+1 physical card for me. please and thank you  :)

great work, congrats again!
Hello mate! How r u? Okay, no problem. Card will be ready in a few days.

I sure hope everyone gets the stuff from @Basorexia, but last week I discovered his possible  involvement in merit abuse, and connection with accounts that are part of  ANN bumping group . Still waiting for  his reply, but it looks like he is nowhere to be found. I really hope that he is  just unable to answer for some reason, and all ends well.  Here is more about the situation  and his connection to previously mentioned shady stuff.

Not expecting my item I bought from them.  It wasnt a donation so they can slime their way out of this one.  I paid for him to send me an item and a pretty high shipping fee.  Will remove my trust rating if i do receive it, if the item is postmarked prior to my rating.

Unfortunately iv had to leave negative trust on basorexia. This really busts my balls as what he was doing was genuinely cool and he had a good thing going on....

I will amend this IF proof of post can be provided, dated before the first suspicions of foul play arose. Poor show

Negative trust left for this user!  Scam alert!

Basorexia made digital cards for users on this forum and took donations for them.  Then they proceeded to "make" physical versions of these cards and started taking payments from users to get the physical versions of these cards.  Users paid a large sum of bits for a "card" plus the shipping.  Then this user started making custom toys for users taking larger payments and higher shipping costs.  No tracking was placed on any of the shipments and Basorexia stated that it was not available.  After some research, it seems that tracking is available for a couple bucks.  All the funds from this seem to have gone to a mixer. BTC address: 17tMWWwVp6DSXMfaVMeei2y1UpwtzDMtdA    Basorexia's telegram has also been deactivated.

I am considering my first payment, for the digital version of my card, as payment for the rights to it.  As for the second, larger payment, I'm considering that to be theft.

p.s.  I did not look into the ETH address they gave as I think ETH is trash but here it is:  0x4e588c7334d564398c61456CAb6b732173cc2a2a

And newbies scoff at the idea of escrow and who would scam for such bullshit amounts.  Last lesson learned.  Personally for me is escrow or gtfoh if you arent a known trader here. I'm tagging that person as a possible scammer

When I asked for a physical card, they said "for sure, but need to make the digital card first".  I paid up front.  I had just been patient ( and kind of forgot ) and they never did follow up asking for any shipping details.  So ..paid in full, received nothing.

Well this is a shame to hear because I really did think he would be a great addition to the btc talk community with this endevour to bring something different and unique to each individual forum member.
First saw it done for Last of the V8's model hotwheels car and instantly got interested.
Wait this is for collectible cards but the name seems familiar as I believe I even sent him a +1smerit to his thread after seeing his work. :-\
So they have two different threads going on here? :-[

A pity really. :'(
Thought the collectibles section were pretty much scammer free cause of the escrows used here. They are very good at what they do and do not share any confidential information to any offending parties not involved in their transactions. :-[
Will be more careful with whom I deal with in here from now. :(

Hi everyone
First of all let me apologize for what had happened
My name is Taras and I will explain you briefly what happened.
I have been working with my "friend" (an enemy in fact). I was doing cards and he was responsible for all business-related questions, payments, cashouts, delivery etc..we both have access to telegram and bitcointalk account.
About a week ago account password was reset. My "friend" dissapeared taking coins.
I feel very very bad of this ugly story and I do not ask you to justify me. It is my fault that I chose a bad partner, that I did not make a good enough due-dill.
I am not rich and I did not get much of those coins transfered, however please feel free to send me btc amounts you lost in this situation. I will pay it little by little as I have funds coming from other sources. If you can make smth useful for you as a designer let me know as well (instead of a refund).

Sorry again, sorry again for this dirty spittle at bitcoin community. It was a honor to be a part of this community and I was sure I was doing smth useful for the members.

Sorry

My fault is that I did not control if he dispatched cards in fact. Again, it is my fault and it is my mistake. I am a bad businessman.

But I know for sure that there is a way to send an an international letter from Ukraine in an envelope just putting a stamp on it, and in this way there is no tracking. I was hoping my partner did exactly this way. For sure there are trackable parcels that cost much more.

But it does not justify me.

About 2 dollars to track an envelope from the Ukraine.... You think someone like me didn't do research?  You are either completely full of shit or an absolute moron.  Either way, you should not be trusted.  Anyone that gives you a single bit going forward makes them just as much of a moron.

Is your printer broken? Did your "friend" crumple up all the holographic paper you bought? Its up to you to make good the people that paid you for items.. this is your reputation and it is dropping with every excuse you post. What you do now is print cards for everybody that paid for them, you ship them as 1 unit to most likely minerjones and you let the grownups figure out shipping after that. You will not be trusted with payment or addresses ever again. Salvage what you have left (not much). There is currently no way to prove that you are not the "friend" pleading for forgiveness to turn it around for a second scam.

This is quite unfortunate for the BitcoinTalk community. Personally, I don't mind losing three different payments (digital card, physical card, jeep toy) to the Basorexia account. I'll live. But I'm truly saddened to see yet another member with innovative goods/ideas succumb to lowly skammish behavior (whether intentional or not). It's heartbreaking. :'(

Whoever is in control of the account seems to not be able to show proof of their supplies which leads me to believe if their story is true that the current owner of the account (password and email recently changed) is the dishonest "friend".

Even better idea BCP. Yes, please ship everything to MJ in a nice package via tracking. I’ll even pay for fedex via my business account. I’m offering you a chance to make good on your deals and possibly even restore your business through the use of an escrow with MJ in the future. The decision is yours. You had a multi thousand dollar business idea, don’t toss it away for a few hundred man.

Let's just assume that everything that you wrote here is true (due to good faith). I have a couple of questions.

You said that you had a business partner, that you trusted them so much, that you gave account details (bitcointalk/telegram). I assume that since you are the designer, you are the official (first) owner of this account since you took part in the 10th-anniversary competition as a designer. Hence, you shared accounts with your "partner" afterwards. Also, you claim that your "friend disappeared taking coins."

Question 1: I guess that you knew your friend IRL (in real life) since somehow you gave to them the physical items for dispatching. How exactly they disappeared and you cannot find/track them? (like they left the country?)

Question 2: Since I assume that you know who your partner is, did you took legal action against them? You admitted that stolen the funds from you (and from us). All I can see here is you saying excuses like ... "It is my fault that I chose a bad partner". The question is: what are you planning to do about it, and what you already did.

Question 3: Since you were sharing accounts, and both of you having access (reading/writing) and also to PM's (reading/writing), I also assume that you already know through PM's, EXACTLY the amount that each one of us sent you. Even if you were not handling the business-related aspects, you were still had/have access to that info, and you should have (at least) read them. I assume that you wanted to know when a customer ordered a new digital card (through PM), hence you were actually accessing PM's and reading them. Why are you asking what each one sent you, since you already know?

Question 4: How did you get access to your account back? (after your partner reset the password) Why it took you 1 week?

Question 5: Could you please indicate to us which of the posts (in this and in the other "Unique collectible things for Bitcointalk users." topic) were written by you, and which by your "partner"?  Just write the post #'s here, please.

Question 6: If the above it's true, how can we be sure that "you" are the one that claims this (ie do the writings now), and not your partner (pretending of being "Taras")?

Since this is an international delivery, there is no tracker. More precisely, I have documents and an invoice, but you can’t track the delivery on it.
They deliver to the local postal delivery service at a specific point in each city, and only then this service creates delivery to your personal address. This system helps to save on delivery, since personaly delivery from Ukraine is quite expensive.
All postage and duties are already paid, do not worry.
You just have to wait.

Sincerely, Bas.

Question 7: Do you have those dispatching documents and the invoice, or not?

suggestion for further business (if there is still a chance to restore your business): continue to produce items upon request. Send them to MJ (or other trusted user). Upon confirmation of receiving, then AND ONLY THEN, you will get your commission/payment (not beforehand) directly from the user that you had a deal with. Alternative you could use full  escrow services (and prolly pay for the escrow fees, or split fees with customers)

I did tons of assumptions above. Please enlighten me...

I don't think he is gonna reply or agree to this. He first gained the trust here and then used that trust to scam the people. How foolish of him.
If he has not been guilty of all this, he could have converted this into a profitable business but greedy people don't think like this.  >:(

I was thinking that the quickest intermediary measure to attempt to salvage some credibility would be to just reimburse all funds that were sent that did not have a product sent/received.  Probably not any need to reimburse anyone who received a product that was of the value that was agreed to.

So, Basorexia (purportedly Taras) is proclaiming that currently he does not have enough funds to reimburse everyone completely and immediately for the amount that they had sent, but that he has proposed to be able to send payments, but has not specified any kind of exact plan nor any kind of timeline to accomplish such payments.

Of course, members are going to be skeptical of genuineness of such offer that is lacking in details.

I personally believe that if Basorexia were to want to be perceived as genuine in his reimbursement offer, then he would just disclose a specific reimbursement plan and a tentative and reasonable timeline target to accomplish the total reimbursement, and start reimbursement as soon as possible, then some credibility would likely be regained.   Probably the best way would just list all the members and the amount that he plans to reimburse and the timeline for such (someone correct me if they believe that there is a problem in attempting to carry out the reimbursement openly, and maybe if some members specifically state that they want to keep their names anonymous, then that could be labelled as anonymous in the publicly disclosed reimbursement plan?)

Otherwise, yeah, without a specific plan with a specific timeline, it just appears that Basorexia/Taras is merely just dragging out this matter for apparent ongoing lame-ass deception purposes to continue to play around with the community that he has presumably scammed out of coins and to drag the matter out in order to cause it to appear that that whatever happened is not a scam, but merely in the end, just showing that the offer of remedy that he made is not a genuine remedy offer.

Yes:  Great idea!!!!   Grasp on to something very "reasonable"  The more complex, the better.  Right?

Why don't you grasp onto a real reasonable and straight forward approach, namely:  just pay everyone back, and if if any of them wants to reorder, after you have paid everyone back, then take the matter of orders and shipping and all of that mumbo jumbo from there.

Nah.  That would be too straight forward.  Right?

Instead you want to drag this bullshit out, which should cause a lot of members to be more skeptical about your intentions to make matters good... or that you are even being honest in your description of the purported mess-up.

Don't count on these ever coming to fruition or the person in charge of this account doing the right thing.  If you get strung along believing you'll eventually get your item.... you deserve what you get.  This user is not trustworthy, PERIOD!

Just to expand a bit on this, I want to make sure that people know that if they're being strung along and they're asked for more funds -- DO NOT SEND ANY MORE FUNDS. If you get asked for more funds, it's just an attempt to scam more.

Expect that you've lost all the money that you've sent. If you get it back or if you get the collectible cards then great. If not then move on. Tough luck folks.

Did MJ or anyone get messaged by this guy for batch shipping?
The fact that he didn't, and kept "shipping in singles" made it to where he really profited more , suggesting myself for the service seems to have nerfed off the notion due to the scrutiny I recieved.
Essentially taking advantage of your distrust by scapcoating me.
Maybe in the future this can be viewed as a red flag.

Your entire statement is all kinds of narcissistic.  Lol.  Sorry buddy, it has nothing to due with the scrutiny towards you etc.... stop it.  I'm sorry I/we hurt your feelings by saying if bulk shipping happens we want it to go to MJ.  They are only the most trusted person on this site.  Lol.

edit:

We were just too trusting of a newbie as it with started digital goods we all received.  They got a bunch of us on the physicals.  It won't happen again.

This morning I did receive the approx $30USD worth of BTC that I requested Basorexia pay back.

I still would like to see a current picture of the holofoil paper he had, the printer, the supplies.. maybe a card or two printed/being cut to size in order to believe this isn't the thief friend trying to get enough rep bought back to hit us harder a second time.

First steps taken but there are some hurdles you need to still get over here Bas.

Is there anything stopping you from outlining a tentative plan and timeline for your distribution of refunds.... even if you do not have the money right away, supposedly, you should be able to figure out some time to get your timeline in order and to communicate a somewhat reasonable plan.

Personally, I believe that no one should send you any more money until you have already completely dealt with all the refunds, either refunding everyone or getting a clear representation from the member that they do not want to receive a refund.  Of course, you might require that members have to communicate that they want a refund, especially in regards to the digital products, which would not be completely unreasonable, but given what doubts you have already created and even the questions about whether you had shipped any items or even whether you had actually acquired any supplies to make the product that you claimed to be making, it would likely be better to be completely upfront about how you intend to deal with everyone who had given you money including creating clear categories in regards to what will cause you to refund their money and the order in which you plan to issue such refunds, too.

Edit:  I noticed in the above post from teeGUMES that he is acknowledging receipt of what is presumably a complete refund, so I agree that is a good sign... It does seem a bit strange and problematic if you are ONLY planning to give refunds to members who publicly post about it...because that may end up blowing up in your face... Alternatively, I could appreciate a plan that sends refunds to members who post here first, and maybe even in the order that they are posted.. seems a bit random.. or maybe in the order that they had paid... but there should be some criteria to help to provide some confidence that you have an actual plan that you intend to follow.

Thats a sad twist to this thread, sorry to read it went that way.   I really liked those cards, I advise just doing one card at a time and completing that before the next.    Alot of people are totally awful when it comes to handling cash and budgets, I dont know if malacious or not but monetary incompetence is common.

There are some people who seem to have as one of their sole purposes in life to get scammed.

They must love it or something.

I have met people like this in my real life too, and they will frequently say that they cannot figure out why they keep getting scammed.     :D :D :D :D

Not on this forum but I'm a long term member elsewhere and if somebody is new I'd just let them know they can send an item and I'll pay on delivery.    Thats not unreasonable for established members and relatively low cost type stuff, obviously the seller might not want to proceed on that basis and thats fine also.    For trade work its often the case the job is done first and then payment is made.

Yep, what you describe is totally normal here and on other forums.  In this case a few of us let our guards down because the seller did not seem like a seller but more of a motivated community member.  The entire affair is quite disappointing; not necessarily for the loss of funds but for the loss in the ability to trust what seems like a wholesome newbie.

You can start making amends by at least responding to the pms of the customers you have swindled and tell them their payment will be returned and not blatantly ignoring any pms sent to you.

That wont cost you a Satoshi. So no excuses there that your broke.

I agree. I'm not convinced that the skam was malicious. In fact, I'd argue that the evidence suggests that the original intent was to make and distribute the goods in proper faith. Selling goods that haven't actually been made yet (or being in the possession of the seller) is a common scam. However, these physical goods were all made as evidenced by the photos. IMHO, it makes no good sense to scam for shipping costs only. The goods were already made and ready to ship. If you're going to scam from the start, then why bother to even make the goods? Therefore, I have to agree with STT above. I think the problem is more likely to be monetary incompetence that finally destroyed the otherwise original good intentions toward making a legitimate side business in this collectibles market. Regardless, it is what it is.

I sent mine via PM and left an address here publicly.  Nothing of course either.  Sucks for all of us, but the ones who paid for toys got the worst of it.

Personally, I paid BTC for the digital card, the physical card, and the custom Jeep Wrangler toy. (I'll never see the two physical items.) It's quite disappointing for multiple reasons.

Good luck to all who were skammed. I hope you receive a refund someday.

Regards,
Chris

I will keep refunding as quick as I can do, I have a usual salary of ukranian designer and I have a family.
Please do not ask for any art work anymore I will never accept a satoshi. And I am making refunds not because I want to restore my reputation (like some say here), no. I am refunding because my mistakes led to your losses.

No, everyone is thinking a lot of things.  Maybe he was the scammer, maybe he did have a partner, who the hell knows really.  The thing that makes this situation different is they didnt just up and take off and leave everyone completely high and dry.  We've seen countless people do that over the years, so it's refreshing to see someone actually taking some steps to making this right.  Personally I asked for a lot in my digital card and they delivered, to me it was pretty much worth what I paid for it, though of course a physical card would have been nice.  All we can do now is give the guy a little time to prove himself .

Pity he's a scammer... I supported he's first cards and just paid him "to much" to create some cards for some WO-members.... instant regret....
He delivered, but I honestly wouldn't supported him if I would know a scammer came out of him.

Just take a look at the pinned scam thread Krogo and I have been building up for a few years now, any of us that have been around for a bit know better but it was just a few bucks ( well for those w/just a card ) so we got lazy.

Like others stated, coulda made some nice spare change doing this, could have really evolved..I’ll never understand the quick cash grab that ruins what would/could have been a nice long term deal.

I think it was just a screw up, he earnt alot merit while he was here which is worth more then just walking away, he got attention and had potential for a market.  The worth is in the artwork, its not like he robbed fort knox.    All he has to do is work through the backlog and repay the debt basically which is mostly a case of can you be bothered to do it or not.   Do that and in two years people would be trading with him, he can easily just send it in advance to trusted members of the forum and then collect payment and get +1 for the deal and then you are back.  I dont agree that a mistake can never be taken back and really dont think it was a pre planned scam like operation.

Most regulars around here would agree with you for the most part I think. I do.  Here’s the problem, paying some people back (not sure why some were chosen over others) then going MIA. Would respect them a whole lot more if they set out a plan of some sort. Giving up and likely to never return is basically as bad as if they openly scammed everyone.

I wonder how hard/easy it would be to make these. I have cases of GX/EX cards that are all extras.

I am thinking could print these and have them glued to the pokemon cards? or print them on labels that fit the card or larger than the card and trim them?

also for images - use actual pokemon? or allow users to submit a picture to be used?

The stats part would be easy - just pull their stats at time of card creation. the bottom right field could be allowed for user to put whatever they want.

and how much work would it be to put these as a ERC token? so that there is an onchain ownership as well? (kinda gotta do this with it being crypto related)

what was everyone paying for these?

I am sure with more time these could be made to look better but this is one I just did in like 2 mins.

Obviously there are quite a few things that could be changed - maybe even have a site where the user designs their own card and then the person could create the card and ship it to the user?

and sorry Owlcatz for picking on you but I like Snoopy :)
