Post by: oliv441 on November 27, 2019, 09:20:02 PM
Hi,

which emoji could be used to indicate Bitcoin ? except the "currency symbol, ฿" which is not an emoji.

PS : It is now possible to register an Emoji as domain name.

₿ is the unicode symbol for bitcoin. You can read the specific here, in more detail than you might need:

There's no Bitcoin emoji in Unicode, and there's no plans for it. There will be some generic coin emoji added to Unicode soon, but it's unclear if it could be used to imply Bitcoin or not. The lightning emoji - ⚡, is often used when users talk about Lightning Network on Twitter. Also the moneybag emoji 💰 is sometimes used when people talk about Bitcoin and crypto, specifically about trading.

I think the emoji would be a smiley with a bitcoin sign. I saw a gif in instagram a smiley bitcoin emoji. I think there is no official emoji sign yet. It would be cool if it will be implemented and using emoji in our usual conversation or comments.

Probabily it would be a variation from the normal emojis that express something with a bitcoin symbol such as wow, smile, sadness and so on.
Reflecting bitcoin price fluctuations, sharks, pump and dumps, scams, everything related with it.

Just as simple as by having the bitcoin icon as a symbol to represent the emoji is already a good thing.

Talking about official emoji on major social media sites and cellphone keyboards there is no such emoji that directly portrait bitcoin. You can indicate bitcoin on a post just by putting money bag in there for and some info referring to bitcoin.

emojis, are the facial expressions of someone applied through cartoons, so in my opinion emojis that match the bitcoin are, emojis smile ...

I think they should make an emoji for bitcoin because no emoji can portray bitcoin as of now. These emojis are not enough to symbolize bitcoin currency 🤑💰. These things still symbolizes money and dollar. If they can make emojis for btc, then they can communicate about btc cryptocurrency in much short and easy way. It's less hassle and easy to type, if they see something like the btc emoji that will soon exist, they will know that the message is about bitcoin.

LOL...  I don't really think Bitcoin needs an emoji to represent what it is. Emojis are meant to represent emotional expressions of people and also represent some physical items. This BTC is the symbol that can only represent Bitcoin. There is no particular symbol that can truly represent Bitcoin rather than this BTC

If you checked your keyboard's emojis list and a Bitcoin emoji isn't there, it's obviously because we don't have a Bitcoin emoji.

If you want to see a Bitcoin emoji, probably suggest it here: https://www.unicode.org/emoji/proposals.html

You don't need a different Unicode character as an emoji for Bitcoin for it to be supported on mobile. iOS already supports it, that's most of consumer phones in the west already. Also, remember that since Bitcoin has a Unicode character, it's usability on mobile depends on your individual system preferences. You could use a different keyboard and/or system font. Also contact manufacturers and developers to include it in mainline versions.

Yup, instead of an emoji, it may be better if we start asking the companies that make mobile keyboard apps, especially Google, add Bitcoin where the other currencies are.
Something like:

We don't have that. But I guess there are also many currency symbols that do not have their own emoji. We will soon have it because Bitcoin is gaining popularity everywhere. At least for now we have our own BTC symbol. That is good enough.

it is not enough, because with a domain name, the "฿" symbol can not be reached easily

It could be program first to be added to the unicode or to ASCII, but it is quite impossible if we are expecting a bitcoin character in keyboard. But in bitcoin emoji using platforms such as this forum, administrators could ad an emoji but it is unnecessary. Emoji comes from the word emotions, bitcoin doesn't have emotions, maybe what you think is an icon to be exact?
