Title: In 2020, How To Value An Altcoin?
Post by: EdmonLeung on November 28, 2019, 10:39:57 AM
Let’s talk about a simple yet important currency valuation perspective; cryptocurrency or fiat.

This valuation approach starts with the interpretation of an essential concept that has been put conveniently within the definition of the word cryptocurrency-a subtle definition that has been lost on many investors, sadly.

Looking at the word cryptocurrency more closely, we see that it is a compound word-that is, two smaller words combined to create a new word with its own meaning:

    CRYPTO: a word cryptography abbreviation; the art of writing or solving ciphers and codes;
CURRENCY: something used as a means of exchange; money.

Cryptocurrency is generally defined as a compound word as a digital currency that uses encryption as a mechanism for validating and verifying transactions.

So what is it that lends itself to a new perspective on valuing altcoins within the term cryptocurrency?

What Is Currency?

Currency is a medium of goods and services exchange. In short, it’s money, usually issued by a government in the form of paper or coins, and generally accepted as a method of payment at its face value.

In the modern world, money is the main means of exchange, having long since replaced bartering as a means of exchanging goods and services.

A new form of currency entered the language, the virtual currency, in the 21st century. Virtual currencies like bitcoins have no physical existence or support from the government and are traded and stored in electronic form.

at this time we still haven't entered 2020 and we can't judge about Altcoin, who is knows what will happen with Altcoin in next year? I might be able to judge about Altcoin if we are already entered in 2020 and hopefully the future of Altcoin will be bright in the coming year.

Nothing to say about that consider if OP just wanna promote his blog here. Why so many people are spamming so many blog these days, Halving is not yet done and the impact not yet come to the bitcoin.
Altcoin which was having real usability will keep increase on its value while at the same time altcoin that was getting dropped by the investors caused lack of the development will be dead.

In 2020, an alt will have value if it has a real use case: by now many projects are not keeping intentions.
For example we will find out if the PoS will have its say as a consent mode...

Why you relate something out of hand here?

Its totally unrelated to what the OP is saying. He is explaining the total difference of crypto from currency and how it affects in the world currency.

For OP, its really a prime time now to depend on digital since the era is evolving, Imagine China move to adopt blockchain is widely spread across the globe and they know how this can affect the economy later on.

we all want to believe in the future of altcoins in 2020, but now everything does not look very positive. There are some coins that are starting to show sharp growth in recent days, but this does not mean anything. you need to be constantly prepared for the fact that the season of altcoins can start at any time or never come at all

Is not the dominance already in the bitcoin? According to cmc this is over 66% and it's like a hint as to how altcoins can increase. So, if bitcoin increases, altcoins will be affected, at least because the price of all of them is calculated by the king, if they remain as they are, the increase of bitcoin will pump their price also.

Firstly, I will say your topic didn't relate much with the body of your post, nice read but you didn't actually talk about "In 2020, how to value an altcoin" rather general knowledge on cryptocurrency. Everyone keeps having high hopes about 2020, personally I think it will also be a great year for crypto enthusiasts. I hold just 3 altcoins at the moment including ETH, and hoping they do well next year. Bitcoin remains my major holding and I expect a boom come 2020.

Having too much expectation sometimes could lead you to bigger loss, do let's just stay calm in predicting altcoins and don't invest too much on it, let's just watch closely those altcoins, as we cannot control it and we don't know what will happen on it in the upcoming year so better to invest Bitcoin if you really wanted to invest and you do have spare money on it.

So, if cryptocurrency has two words which are crypto and currency then the altcoin has also two words cause it has alt which means alternative and coin is as it is. We already encountered different kinds of altcoins and not all of them has a value some of them are trash so it is still in our wallet, we still don't know what will happen with altcoins in the year 2020 but hopefully something good will happen that will make altcoin will back to its track and make a good value next year.

Yups, I think so, friend. people are currently preparing only to invest in Bitcoin, according to the news circulating in 2020 is the beginning of a change and the predicted impact may be 2021 - 2024. Maybe altcoin also competes with real product reasons and if inflation really does occur.

200 coins in coin market may be in my opinion still worth in 2020, although there are some coins that are displaced it is natural,
there are many issues in this world, but I am not sure about the next 10-20 years maybe altcoin may not be able to survive

Altcoin won't survive more than 5 years if they don't have a strong cummunity to create an unlimited demand, because new projects are happening almost everyday and they're ready to replace a coin that don't have demand anymore. So, only the strong coins with high demand right now that will survive in the future

Compared to what we had in 2017, obviously the prices are down. But the reason is that the prices went up by too much during 2017. The exchange rate for many of the coins increased by 100x or even more. What we are witnessing now is more of a correction than a drop. And once this correction phase is over, the altcoins will once again start their bull run.

The past two years have shown that predicting the behavior of cryptocurrency rates is pointless.
That you can only make forecasts in the near future, and then there is some chance that they will come true.
Until 2020, more than a month, then the Chinese New Year in February is not the most active time for cryptocurrencies.

Predicting for your own sake might work but you are right there's no assurance that it will happen as the behavior of this market still unclear.
Many possibilities will happen along the way and regarding to any predicted value changes will keep showing and will keep bouncing up and down.
Best to stay focus and keep yourself ready in anyhow to anticipate the right position.

Just like something that is for sale in an auction, altcoin has its intrinsic value. But this intrinsic value also differ since altcoins price correlates to BTC price. Most probably one can say if BTC price shoot to the moon again like reaches up again to its ATH, maybe we are going to see once again ETH going $1200 while its intrinsic value for the crypto traders will still be 0.02BTC = ETH.

After 2 years of experience i can tell you this:

- Some shit coins are still making money to some people, to the ones trading them (flipping them in good exchanges).

- Some good, solid projects die simple because they are not into binance or any goo high liquidity exchange, sad but true & this is the worst face of crypto.

That's the irony of crypto, you can't actually figure it out how to evaluate " one crypto " & say this is the one.

How can I judge if 2020 hasn't happened yet. We have to wait until 2020 to be able to give an assessment of what altcoin is like.
Because it is impossible to judge before we know what will happen in 2020, but for now I say altcoin is a good innovation to become a more complex alternative payment tool.

I would like to argue with you, since now it makes sense only for short-term investments in altcoins, and it rarely turns out to grab at least some kind of profit, but generally most often losses, I don’t know, maybe you are talking about long-term investment, but I think that it’s not worth it hope now because the real growth of altcoins will begin only after Bitcoin has updated its maximum and then it will be possible to think about investment in altcoins. Now it’s a waste of money nowhere.

That's almost impossible to answer. If we could see into the future, we'd all be millionaires  ;D

Moving forward I believe a LOT of shitcoins will moon, but altcoins with actual use cases, will rise even higher and hopefully be used in the common years. Some projects still needs to come down in price, as they are overvalued still, one of them being TRON, which skyrocketed out of nowhere, and only sits where it does, because hodlers refuse to sell lower. That's just my opinion anyway.

Projects like
Ethereum - Smart Contracts
Bitcoin - Digital Currency
Chainlink / Blocknet - Oracle Solution
Komodo / Bisq etc - DEX Solution

Is surely gonna do extremely well - For those who didn't know. Blocknet isn't just a DEX, their Oracle solution is not only the most decentralized solution on the market, it's also the cheapest.

I can name plenty of low cap gems with the same properties, but this post isn't about "shilling" projects.

The truth is, projects who actually solves real world problems is gonna perform very very well into the future.  ;)

Indeed, too hard to Value the altcoins. It depends on the project and its adoption. Some become idle and lose their value and support base along the way especially when devs dumps the price. Only solid projects remain floating especially when devs are active and having a long term plan and more developments are on the pipeline.

to parse the definition in a centralized perspective will certainly have a striking difference.

altcoin has no physical entity but the inherent uses are more varied than fiat. But both have similarities about supply and adoption even though the absorption of their goals is different. in 2020, altcoin can be measured in terms of more intense use of quality, and here we need a pattern of support from the government and the market to make it look more effective.

Agree with your opinion that if bitcoin moves for the better it can be ascertained lift up also altcoin to be able to perform better. of course for altcoin which already exists in the stock market and which has survived well.
analysis to determine what altcoin is good and there is no harm in projecting with cmc to be a reference before acting.

indeed coin depends on the developments that exist if you have a lot of development of the project created so that it can increase the use of which will make altcoin still have a future and can still produce price movements.

Altcoin value in 2020 depend with how bitcoin price, when bitcoin keep up I think have chance for altcoin to be on higher price, but when bitcoin keep lower price we can hope many expectation with altcoin price. We need revolution with bitcoin price later on higher price to give chance for altcoin keep with higher too, without price is up we can't do anything with altcoin.

To judge value an altcoin in 2020 may be a bit difficult too. What is certain is that altcoin must form natural demand. Can be triggered from software updates, partnerships, and others. And certainly also, altcoin who do the above will survive and stand on it. But certainly, if bitcoin rises continuously, we can be sure that altcoin will also follow later.

Some of how an alt-coin gets valued next year may be in how much interest institutional investment has in it if you're looking at the top ranked assets, and you can't go wrong investing in those if they get cheap enough and represent good value buys

It still stand that the one and only way to value and altcoin is when it is solving an issue. An altcoin which tackles any issue found in the crypto sphere or in the world out there will still remain highly relevant. Comes 2020 and years to come, this still stands, so it's better for us to understand this and make adequate steps into doing the right thing, because if we invest in a worthless coins it is us that will get hurt not the team.

But altcoin, which has real uses and benefits for many people, is inversely proportional to new projects that have sprung up and do not have any benefit. Many scam projects and only speculative projects are used to enrich themselves.

Many investors leave new projects and have an impact on other projects. this makes the development of the project dead and not continued.

    CRYPTO: a word cryptography abbreviation; the art of writing or solving ciphers and codes;

We will see how the development of altcoin in the future because changes will occur and we can not take steps to hold an altcoin for years to come, because now the price is very bad and very doubtful for us to invest, but remember in the crypto world everything can change in a moment then we must have our own beliefs.

at this time we still haven't entered 2020 and we can't judge about Altcoin, who is knows what will happen with Altcoin in next year? I might be able to judge about Altcoin if we are already entered in 2020 and hopefully the future of Altcoin will be bright in the coming year.

Most altcoins will remain useless at the bottom, but really good altcoins with working technology will show good growth. I personally expect strong movement in the altcoin market in the spring of 2020, statistically in the spring the market often comes to life in the spring.

I don't think that bitcoin can be a currency if I think it's better as an asset and digital gold, because if I say a currency I think with a supply of 21 million it will be difficult to use in almost all countries or with the size of Satoshi, so because of the transaction costs, bitcoin is much more both are used as a medium of exchange such as digital gold so that the transactions are according to needs and demands, but if every country wants their paper currency to be a digital currency I think it doesn't matter if there are USD coins or other currencies in the form of tokens or coins, I think it will cool but let's just look at 2020 later hopefully digital currencies get better with legal regulations and legality, we all don't know what will happen so don't speculate too much

To be honest I can't say anything about the value of altcoins in 2020. As we know, no one is able to predict altcoins prices,
all cryptocurrency is very difficult to predict price movements. But since most of the price of altcoins in a low position, the
opportunity for us to buy it. If indeed the price of altcoins goes up in 2020 we can earn a profit. But because it can't be
predicted it's better not to buy altcoins in large quantities and also don't use all the capital we have. And use stop-loss to
keep the price of altcoins down again, we will not lose too much. The problem is that the risk is very high investment in
altcoins, must be more careful in making decisions and also wiser in managing capital.

I don't think anyone knows for sure how the state of altcoin is in 2020. We can only predict in my opinion when the bitcoin gets to the month the altcoin market will also pump up. but yesterday in July when bitcoin rose to $ 13,000 the altcoin market also remained red. I also don't understand what's really happening in the altcoin market. only time can answer that. I hope 2020 is a good year for cryptocurrency.

Personally, I think in order to assess the benefits of Altcoin you need to invest in different coins. And then in 2020 we will see which coins will be profitable. I believe that the best ideas of 2020 will be Efiriui and Bitcoin and will bring good income to all users in 2020. So cryptocurrency in 2020 will be very popular in the market. And whoever has the opportunity to invest do not waste time.

So what is it that lends itself to a new perspective on valuing altcoins within the term cryptocurrency?

If you want to know the future of cryptocurrencies in particular altcoins, then you do not need to study the meaning of words and what they consist of. The fact is that the vector of the direction of development is determined by the powers that be. I believe that for a better understanding of what awaits cryptocurrencies in the next and subsequent years, it is necessary to follow the information at other economic forums where speakers of countries speak and voice information on the development of human activities. All other information can only be a wish to wishful thinking.

During this time a lots of altcoins are adding in the crypto space some of them are really dont have any use at all. You can know as a crypto enthusiast which one should be valued and which should be ignore. If I were you, focus on those platform that has sentiment on the real world application.

Many are really disappointed with the market but whose to blame for this? I think community should realize that the down trend is also somehow our fault for causing so much fud and shill which sometime lead to wrong promotions and accusation.

In my opinion, I think the season of alts will come after Bitcoin halving takes place. Before the halving event, many people would want to have more bitcoin. If they want to be more profitable than anyone, then they will decide to sell all their assets such as Alts, cars, and houses to buy bitcoin before it is halving. This will create a very strong uptrend in the near future and the alts will be dumped. But after the halving event ended and people felt that this price was just enough to sell for profit, the price of bitcoin would fall and then be distributed among the alts. do you agree with me ?

Lack of promotion and acceptance makes a rough way for crypto currency to have come in circulation. Risk is totally bound with crypto which is majority are afraid of. In addition, governments don't wanna risk the economy to crypto currency in a sense of no control, no authorities, furthermore, the individual is literally the authority. Besides fiats seems to be irreplaceable nowadays though there are smart cards out there that acts as well as medium of payment but what it sticks behind it is the currency which fiats stands for.

we all want to believe in the future of altcoins in 2020, but now everything does not look very positive. There are some coins that are starting to show sharp growth in recent days, but this does not mean anything. you need to be constantly prepared for the fact that the season of altcoins can start at any time or never come at all
No one knows when the altcoin season will return, of course what we have to do for now is maybe to focus more on how we can survive in any situation like cryptocurrency. And everyone wants that 2020 will be a profitable year for many people who are in cryptocurrency.

Some altcoins are still useful even beyond 2020, If the use case was still intact at that time i'm sure altcoins will be remain valuable. The existence of the cryptocurrency industry will determined the demand of altcoins including bitcoin in 2020 and beyond. My opinion was very simple until the cryptocurrency industry has a value the altcoins demand will be remain as it is.

But that again is very obvious. It is not possible for a volatile market to just keep on increasing or never decrease. It has two sides. Moreover, the dump persist longer than pump. This way, investors can join the crypto coin market with ease. In addition to what you said, altcoins also depend on bitcoin and we can see that 2020 will be year of the king. All we need to do is stay calm and invest more.

it is impossible to predict exactly which coins will be 100 percent successful, but you can start from the removing coins from the lists that definitely will not succeed, and gradually study those projects that remain. if you spend a lot of time you will find 3-5 projects that with a 95 percent probability will bring you good profit

Depending on the market condition and current trends, there would be a very bright choice to select alts. But I believe that 2020 would become a year of decentralised exchanges and their native tokens, because this sector is pretty empty at the moment.

The value of the coin is experiencing a rise down, it is usual, because there must be coins up and coins down. I suppose that the initial Altcoin of 2020 would have increased. It is seen from the interest of investors when the beginning of the year. They will continue to develop their investments in order to gain even greater gains. In addition, this also affects the value of altcoins that can continue to spread and continue to surge high.

On the market there are still some top altcoins that still have the potential and opportunities to grow again in the near future.  Perhaps judging the current altcoin is a difficult thing for investors.  Altcoins are gradually being dumped out of the market because the dominance of Btc is so large that it is not self-developing but also depends too much.  I hope the future is better for altcoin.
