Post by: algorithminer on November 28, 2019, 08:13:48 PM
I would like to mine something.
I used to mine ETH in 2016 with RX480s

I sold those and now i only have RX560 4GB

offcourse these 4gb 128bit cannot mine ETH anymore
But what can they mine succesfully ?

THANK YOU , PLEASE ANSWER ME WITH BEST CHOICE !

You probably doesnt want or expect answer like that, but i would advise to not mine at all.
Either you doing it for fun/to learn, but you know already you mined before, or its essentially waste of time and electricity.
You have more chance to destroy your card with excess heat than to earn any serious money. I would invest that time to sell your skills and buy some BTC/crypto of your choice. It will be quicker that way.

None. Change your plan.

Use your hard-earned money to buy top coins. Your video card is good for gaming. Enjoy HD games instead while holding those coins you pick as part of your portfolio.

GPU mining is not profitable anymore. Those easy to mined coins back then didn't able to handle the 2018 bear market.

Maybe you should be looking in the Mining Board  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0 .
There are a few similar Questions for other GPUs and its possible that you can get there the Information you need and whats the best for your Gpus.
Or just ask in any other thread there that has to do with Mining with GPUs .
You will get help and Infos in the Mining board normaly.

If i were you... i would teach myself to trade and also practice it to become much more perfect. As time goes on trading would make you far much better money if you perfect it than mining using low budget GPU. The truth is times have changed when it comes to mining.

I believe the GPUs still have market in the gaming world, so I would sell them off and that would be my initial capital for trading

I know this.
I have traded on Localbitcoins 20BTC

But then the market fell waaay below 22K..
And i didnt have other money xcept BTC , had to sell under 10k

Sorry about that experience and rough ride. Trading on Localbitcoins and traditional spot trading is lucrative when the market is bullish but when there is a lengthened bearish trend like the one in 2018, thing start to look so bad.

Margin trading is good for such instances because you have a chance to earn on either a bullish and bearish trend if you made correct entry and exit points but i wouldn't recommend it for  starter.

One thing i learnt is that if one has to keep up with the game, one has to adapt with the trend. Crypto space is always changing  ;)

As others have already mentioned that it is not worth the time and electricity to mine coins as of now because of negative profit.
Even then if you want to try out, you can check the Announcement section and mine newly released coins.
Just a few days ago, there was a new coin release by the name of Cortex and people did make a good profit mining even though it was just for a day.

Honestly you should have use that money to buy few good altcoins or invest it on bitcoin but now mining is not profitable anymore, the only option you have left is to switch to other mining algorithms like cryptonite coins for example monero or dero or haven protocol

You have to learn about the benefit of the doubt.
One may use a mixer also to avoid everybody looking into his pocket, if he feels that a certain address is linked to his person and doesn't like that.
The fact some are more concerned about their privacy doesn't necessarily mean "they have something to hide".

Graphics cards are built to play classic games, don't use it for mining it's old school already and a dump decision. The difficulty is not even same as you got in 2016 so just roll up the plan.

You can mine Monero with your CPU. Any coins where someone built ASICs you will not make much profit with GPUs.

Bro. Those are the old times. A lot of countries are fighting over mining rigs right now and boy are they expensive. I really doubt that your gpu could even hold a candle against any of their machines. Plus, it has been a fight between quantity now a days since the quality of the mining rigs of most miners are already one of the top tier, if not at the very top. Just invest and trade BTC or other altcoins tbh. It's less hassle and you can at least be sure that you'd be earning as long as the coin grows.

cryptonote is a good option.

UniBitX is one that launched on Halloween.

mining pool here, where you can triple merge mine UniBitX, b2b and bytecoin -> https://ubx.cryptonote.club

or you can compile and mine here -> https://github.com/UniBitX/unibit-x

You can actually still mine ETH but most likely won't work under Windows 10. The operating system loads too much system data on the GDDR and even though the DAG isn't over 4GB yet it runs out of space.  You can try Windows 7, uses slightly less system data however your best bet is to either switch to Ubuntu and use that 4GB with a >4GB video card in the main PCIe slot of the motherboard.

Basically in Slot0 which is the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot put in either a 6GB or 8GB GPU and put the 4GB GPU in the other slot. It should work this way. If it doesn't then you need to switch operating systems.

However if I recall the 560 is not ideal for mining ETH, its speeds are exactly half of RX 470/480/570/580 and this doesn't take into account your electricity cost.

Have a look at Cruzbit https://cruzb.it
Difficulty is currently low enough that individuals without large GPU farms can actually make a non-trivial effort.
