Title: XMR RandomX
Post by: funnyman7777 on December 01, 2019, 02:03:47 PM
The algo switch is a fact 2 things i want to point:

1.There wasn't drop in nethash or difficulty because of missing assics.
2.There is increase with at least 1/3 of the nethash and difficulty.

Algorithm:
    RandomX
Block time:
    1m 28s
Last block:
    1,979,266
Bl. reward:
    2.12
Bl. reward 24h:
    2.13
Difficulty:
    72,890,387,710
Difficulty 24h:
    46,434,199,394
Difficulty 3 days:
    39,258,568,454
Difficulty 7 days:
    37,028,819,813
Nethash:
    828.30 Mh/s

Difficulty and hash cannot be compared because algo are different.

Earnings are good at that time. It will decrease in the few days, when miners will migrate and install the new miner.

The reason you don't get the best answers is that you ask in the wrong place. Keep in mind that there's a Monero thread where's preferred you'd discuss this.
Your answer is... from there:

Hashrate per unit of energy expended is significantly higher for RandomX. That's why the hashrate and difficulty are increasing.

Your anwsers doesn't make sence at all .

"Hashrate per unit of energy expended is significantly higher for RandomX. That's why the hashrate and difficulty are increasing. "

So thats why we have increasing of the people who mine? Do you see any working logic in that sentence?

I think verry soon will be clear that there is increase of the mining power because of the cloud VPS services , not sure for how long.

Let me try again, with my guesses.

1.There wasn't drop in nethash or difficulty because of missing assics.

Maybe there are no asics, only fpgas, which probably need less hassle with the algorithm change.

2.There is increase with at least 1/3 of the nethash and difficulty.

Probably the same devices can provide better hash rate (on same or less power) hence the rise.

The reason for this algo fork was preventing asics and fpgas to be able to mine. The nature of this algo should prevent such devices to be able to mine it.

So you mean that the hashrate after they switch to RandomX algo is increased? Or are you talking about the network hashrate?
If you are talking about the hashrate increased it means that the mining performance is increased with this new algo so all miners are also affected so difficulty increases because all people who mine XMR has a little improvement on their rigs so more network hashrate increase and difficulty increase.

But if you are talking about a network hashrate but no little improvements in your mining rigs the possible can be the reason maybe there are many people mining XMR with CPU(Newcomers) who enter mining with their own PCs.

Possible that someone abusing the free cloud VPS to mine XMR just what I heard from other forums that they can make multiple VPS accounts with free balance. Or it's because of marketing who promote cryptotab who offering to mine directly with their CPU through the browser.

When algos change,  comparing difficulty is useless. You compare difficulty between bicycle and rubik's cube

The only things to compare is the number of miners connected to network.
Only few thousands are connected at the moment (look at this pool https://minexmr.com/# )
This is a very little number.
It will be multiplied by 10 or 100 next week.

Just think how many old dusty dormant dual xeon servers came online just for this fork.

Point is how much hashrate a said dual xeon produces, another question is, ipc or more cores the better.

Guys , there was RANDOMX benchmark maybe 1 month ago posted , Loki migrated earlier as you know on same modified version of algo.
I am not using my old rig with RX cards because they are useless same as those old dual XEONS .
dual Opteron 6378 produces around 5kh on 350w not a bad result compared to all other CPUs which makes about 0.50$ per day and this was 1 day ago when NET HASH was 370mh.
Now NET HASH is 970Mh and by all calculators that means 0=0 .

So currently just vps mining and owners of cpus who produce 10kh earn something like 50 to 80 cents with price at lest 300EU without calculating the MB, RAM etc.

Profitability crashed even more now, 5200 h/s was $1 net then, $0.92, $0.60, $0.54, $0.48, now $0.40 if you pay $0.10 kwh.

Update: Profitability is now $0.33
