Title: 10.000 Euro longterm (2-3 years) - in what 2 altcoins should i invest?
Post by: jameswar1955 on December 02, 2019, 03:54:56 PM
Hello,

if i had 10.000 Euro, in which 2 altcoins would you invest longterm (for the next 2-3 years)?

I thought about investing 5.000 Euro in Ethereum and 5.000 Euro in Iota, or do you find two other coins more reasonable?

Hey. I would invest only in BTC. I no longer trust a single altcoin. All altcoins that I sold in minus. But the good news is that there was no sale at the very bottom.

What you selected coins that both are top coins in crypto market but you have the ability to hold for long terms they only it will give profit. And my suggestion to you select two more coins in top crypto market like ethereum, XRP or other it will be safe for your investment.

Bitcoin Cash and BNB... maybe you can invest in these 2 Altcoins.

if I have 10,000 Euros then I will put it in 3 crypto assets, that is 75% Bitcoin, 15% Bitcoin Cash and 10% BNB.

Hey. I would invest only in BTC. I no longer trust a single altcoin.
I know you are very disappointed, I also experienced it but there are some Altcoins that I think are suitable for long-term investments besides Bitcoin, that is Bitcoin Cash, BNB or TRX.

Before thinking of investing into two altcoins, do you have bitcoin on your portfolio? if you don't have, IMO you should start yourself with bitcoin before jumping into altcoins.

But if you really like to start with alts, these are my two options that I like most currently:
  • Ethereum
  • Monero

You shouldn't invest such big amount of money in only 2 altcoins. It is very risky...
You should divide your deposit between different top altcoins, for example:  Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, Dash, Neo, Monero, EOS, Cardano, Tron, Stellar, IOTA.

And you should invest only the amount of money you not afraid to lose... Because investing in crypto is very risky...

Altcoins have a blurry future, so I would buy bitcoin and speculate on it in a timely manner. But you can devirusify risks and add a coin from the top to your portfolio, for example the same ether.

I think you can wait until BTC retest its support zone around $ 6k3, then buy BTC and other altcoin at the dip, for me I'll choose ETH. Currently market is unstable and seem like we will have a crash. Then it'll be an altcoin season.

Invest in bitcoin and choose one of the top 10 crypto currency to invesy the other half. But before buying or investing you should look for the risk involve buying it, since there are no guaranteed profit and also you should have a long patience because market is volatile and every thing can be happen . If there is decline coming dont be so much affraid just hold and wait for 2 or 3 years.

10 thousand euros is not a small amount of money and it is definitely worth investing not in 2 altcoins. it will be very risky. select 5-8 altcoins from the list of top 100. 50 percent invest in ethereum and the remaining 50 and 4-7 coins

I would recommend you to divide it & leave at least 30% a FIAT (or USDT).
Here is how i would invest it myself:
1 - 30% On BTC (Invest & forget), Buy when it break below the $7200 mark (at $6000)
2 - 15 On Etherum
3 - 10 On LiteCoin
4 - 5% on Hedera (2-3 years, ell when it hit the $5.00 mark)
5 - 10% Flipping / Swing Trade it on Top 100 CMC (anyone goo to trade, go for it), this is the one that i call pocket money, it can also grow crazy if you're good at traidng or jut following a goo padi signal provider.

you should divide your portfolio in 5-15 coins just to avoid a big dump from the same type of coins and a smarter approach for minimize the risk of a default.
Take a look on graph from 2017 until nowadays, mostly all projects, all coins are strongly down!

Diversifying the altcoin portfolio after buying the promising project's coin and investing the rest of the amount in the Ethereum is my preference. Never make a mistake to put all the money in the single coin, the single fall will break all eggs in the basket. At least choose 10 coins and watch the growth of the portfolio.

If I were you, I wouldn't invest in only 2 coins. I would rather diversify my investment into more coins and I would not miss bitcoin. Let me tell you my preferred allocation,

1. 40% in bitcoin
2. 30% in ETH
3. 10% in IOTA
4. 10% in Binance Coin
5. 5% in Houbi token
6. 5% in EOS

I kept Binance coin and Houbi token in my portfolio because these tokens are backed by serious businesses! Might give me capital protection support during bad times!

Update: I removed XRP from the list after it released 1 billion coins from their escrow account. IOTA takes over!

if the amount of funds owned is that you should make a portfolio first, the goal is that the investment runs in an organized manner. and do not forget to invest in real life, because such a large amount of funds must be utilized to the maximum and divided into several sections with different goals

IOTA and Ethereum are good choice.
You have chosen two diffrent altcoins with two diffrent use case, so I do not have roblem with it. But 10 000 Euro is enough money and these 2 altcoins are more risky than Bitcoin. So consider Bitcoin also.

Why does it have to be altcoins? What perks of investing in altcoins that you don't see in other investment instruments?

If I were you I'd spend all those 10K EUR for Bitcoin. Then I either store it in a cold/hardware wallet or invest those BTC somewhere else (casino bankroll, maybe).

But if you insist on altcoins, look for major altcoins that have been existing for a long time. My picks are Ethereum and Binance Coin. Why does it have to be two though? For altcoin investing I guess it's better to spread your risk over a numerous amount of alts.

Well, you are gonna get a lot of biased opinions here so here's mine.

Get yourself some BAT tokens! Imo, it's just one of the handful of cryptos with an actual product backing it, brave browser, which get's more popular by the day. Recently, brave surpassed 8 million installation and I think owing a coupling thousand tokens is a must! It's also around 30# in coinmarketcap so there's plenty of growth to come, if it keeps attracting more users :D

I would still invest at least 50 percent in Bitcoin, because the majority of altcoins has shown nothing during the last two years. But if I would be forced to chose altcoin, I would definitely invest in Ethereum and EOS.

My choice is bitcoin and ethereum as it has good market demand, and there are many developments today that are sure to have a positive impact on future prices.

It is also a good opportunity to buy Ethereum (Eth) because of its inexpensive price which will indeed give us a great profit on hold. Like with Bitcoin many investor expects its increase price in the coming years, especially with the anticipated Bitcoin Halving that will happened in 2020.

If I have already invested 10k on BTC (should always be a priority), I would diversify the other 10k between ETH and others. Like BTC, ETH is a altcoin that should be included in every portfolio. I would diversify the rest between top altcoins (this includes LTC, ATOM, IOTA, ADA, XLM, XMR and etc.). The more coins the investment is divided into, this means the less risk and better quality portfolio for me.

This question you asked is one of the toughest question to answer in this space because one can hardly give a tangible answer to it as a result of the nature of the market. However, if am to suggest, holding Bitcoin is worth it more than any other coin, but if you have a nack for altcoins then ETH is worth it. Therefore I can say, 80% goes to Bitcoin while 20% goes to ETH.

It depends on your crypto investment experience, if you have good faith the project will not die in a year then there is nothing wrong to add the coin of the project to your altcoin portfolio. Otherwise, stay away from the suggestions of other project investors and mind your own business. The diversified altcoin portfolio will be a smart choice because of the gold rules by the experienced investors: Never hold the all eggs in a single pocket.

10000 Euro is a large amount of money, you can buy more than 2 altcoins for long-term investment. Now the price of the market is very good, this is a good opportunity for you to buy. I recommend investing 5000Euro in Ethereum, $ 5000 and Litecoin. I think these are the two most powerful altcoins in the market, they are likely to increase in the future.

You are investing a decent amount of money, I suggest you diversified it more, 2 altcoins only for me is too aggressive for long term investment although I am not against with your selection, maybe just add more, try to evaluate your selection consider finding also some cheaper coins which could give you a great profit once the market recovers.

Actually 2-3 is a good long term hold, make sure you have your target already as things that happened in the past can happen now, if it pump in one year, try to sell it again as after that, a correction might take place, maybe its a long correction again that we don't like to see.

Probably ETH but that's only if you're already a holder of BTC. If you don't own any BTC don't look into altcoins. Make sure you have your holdings proportional to the chances of a coin succeeding. BTC has at least 80% to succeed. Coins like XRP maybe 40%. Shitcoins like Bitcoin SV 1%.

Also make sure you do the math before you put any money into the space.

One Altcoin to consider is definitely Amoveo. Their tech stack is scalable PoW, which is as secure as other PoW, but also as fast as other PoS. And for utility side, their solution allows setting up own decentralized markets which handle voting and bets

Many new investors ask this question and the most appropriate answer might be to do a little research into how to put together a balanced portfolio where you'd likely put at least half of it in Bitcoin and some of it in Ethereum and optionally add some other manageable yet slightly riskier options

Ethereum is the first largest crypto which is popular among altcoins due to the smart contracts. It's blockchain technology is regularly updated and improved that makes Ethereum highly competitive coin in the market and good future perspectives. Monero is the king of anonymous cryptocurrencies and it's second option. I think that privacy was one of the main reasons why first crypto enthusiasts embraced digital money. Monero is indeed anonymous coin, therefore, due to it's feature, it has a bright future.

Buddy if you want to invest in that size you should be the one or personally doing a little researched about the coin/token before you invest your 10K Euro, since if you continue listening to other peoples opinion or suggestion i'm sure they will give you also the coins/tokens that they are holding. in that case your opportunity to choose a promising coin/token base in your own knowledge and judgement will be discarded and that's not good because if ever the investment has become failure i'm sure blaming of each other will be follow and that's quite annoying.

You mentioned 2altcoins but I would love to buy btc first. If you are only interested in altcoin you should go for BNB& ETH. ETH second top crypto currency in market and BNB is 8th position.I think I don’t need to describe about ETH. But you can take a look on BNB. BNB is going to be next ETH. You can see Their development and there progress till now.Now I am trying to buy and hold few BNB.

You should replace Iota with TRX. TRX has CEO Justin Sun and he always tries to grow a business by all means. he releases good news, the king of Fomo and I believe that with his intelligence and strong qualities, he will lead his business very successfully in the future. And one more reason is that TRX has a very large community and they only talk about TRX's positivity and TRX will be one of the first coins to be widely dispersed in Chinese services.

4. ETN
5. Sky Coin
6. BCH
7. Tron
8. ETH
9. BNB
10. Matic

Same with how many replied says, it's better not to lock yourself with two alts, much better to have bitcoin in majority then try to research more regarding to any potential coins around. There are many coins to check and consider, you need to go deeper and as opportunities are open to those who wanted to take advantage.

Firstly this is not financial advise so do not take my word for it.  Investing in a top cryptocurrency by market capitalization will likely return less during the rally than an undervalued cryptocurrency. The challenge is in finding such projects that during the rally will provide enough use cases,  fundamentals, and marketing to create enough interest to create massive rallies.  I would advise you to take closer look at Chainlink(LINK),  Hydro(Hydro) and Blocknet(Block).  However,  you can always play it safe and invest in BTC,  ETH,  LTC, Monero or Dash. You'll still see at least 3x on any of those.

Not all of the investment, but 50% should be divided into bitcoin. We can divide the rest according to their risks. 25% to top 10, 20% to top 50, 5% to the riskiest ones. So you do not miss the opportunity, even if you lose in any ones, it will be covered by other coins. Considering that Halving is approaching, we may assume that you lose more each day. The current prices are suitable for purchase, do not miss this opportunity.

Hello,

if i had 10.000 Euro, in which 2 altcoins would you invest longterm (for the next 2-3 years)?

I thought about investing 5.000 Euro in Ethereum and 5.000 Euro in Iota, or do you find two other coins more reasonable?

IOTA has been no good news for a long time, and prices are still falling without any signs of recovery, so I think that's not a good choice. Instead, I think you should keep your USD and wait for the BTC dumping, then buy and hold for the next years.

If you want to invest in two safe altcoins, which have good future potential, then go for Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Ethereum is the king of altcoins and the next altcoin bull run may take it to new heights. Also the Ether 2.0 roll out is due in a matter of few months. And talking about BCH, talks on integration of that coin with Telegram is going on. If it succeeds, then we can expect the prices to rocket upwards.

If it were me, I would choose ETH like you and another currency, BNB. BNB is the main currency of one of the best exchanges - Binance, so BNB is undoubtedly the favorite coin of many investors. With Binance Coin, investors also receive a discount of trading fees up to 50% as well as participating in IEO.

It's funny how some people are telling the op to invest in Bitcoin lol, who told you that the op doesn't know about Bitcoin? He asked a simple question and you should answer just that and stop posting comments that are out of point. I believe he saw the Bitcoin discussion thread but still headed to this ALTCOIN discussion thread to ask this question. So, there is no need talking about Bitcoin.

@OP, the two altcoins you have mentioned are good already, so you can go ahead with the both of them. Ethereum is a good coin and the second best cryptocurrency there is in the market. A lot of experts have even predicted that Ether will be among the few coins that will have a price increase soon. Iota is a good one also, but do a deep research on it and know what some experts are saying before you go with it. Though I would have recommended Binance Coin (BNB), that coin have been okay this year and I have seen a lot of people going for it this year.

If you want to invest in altcoin and only choose 2 try to invest in XRP and ETH. Because we know that XRP touched the new ATH at 3$ in the beginning of 2018 and maybe that is one of the reasons why i also invested in XRP

If I have 10k euros to invest in the top 10 coin marketcap, then I will choose to invest in Ethereum and BNB Coin. Both of these coins have great liquidity and in my opinion BNB Coin has great potential in the future. With the support of the biggest exchangers at the moment, I think BNB Coin will be able to penetrate the top 5 coinmarketcap

Centralized coins are always a bad idea. BNB depends on a number of things instead of the global crypto markets. It depends on CZ and if he gets arrested or made to flee from a country (like China) expect the price of BNB to tank regardless of what real world use it might have. It also depends on Binance and its growth. If Binance gets banned so will the BNB.

Invest only in independent decentralized projects.

You are not telling us what are your goals, which is really important in order to try to tell which coin could be better for you, for example since the capital that you have is already high enough then I do not see the point of taking huge risks with it, so if I were you I will probably invest everything in ethereum and the binance coin, but if what you're looking for is to obtain huge profits during that time then it becomes harder to give you a suggestion because most new altcoins will probably disappear at that point.

ETH and DOGE :) seriously.. the other one is pretty flat with price for the past weeks, it created such a huge support on these levels that it will be almost impossible to lose much. It has meme value, a lot of fomo mooning potential and decent volume/cap.

In the state of the market, it is really hard to make a rational decision. Most people will tell you Bitcoin because they think is the only one that will succeed in the long run.

I believe eventually the market will regulate himself and many coins will be independent of the dominance of BTC. The new trends of stablecoins and DeFi will make this space interesting in 2020.

There is no portfolio in cryptocurrency that has no bitcoin. I assume its 10k Euros not Ten Euros (as OP wrote 10.000). If you have 10k euros you must understand which coins are best for investment rather then coming here and asking people to suggest you. Are you sure they will share your loss?

I find it funny how people recommend others to buy DOGE. I have nothing against that coin, and to some degree I even like it and the community behind it, but from an investment point of view, it's a horrible coin to invest in.

Look at the all time chart provided by Bittrex. All DOGE has ever done is jump up and down within the same satoshi range, and that since the very beginning. It's impossible to consider DOGE a coin worthy of investing in. It makes zero sense.

I know, right? I mean, the amount of money OP's willing to invest is a lot. And suggesting others to invest their money on DOGE is not a really good advice, to be honest.
Doge is one of the cheapest coin out there, if the price fall down even just a satoshi or more, you could lose more than what you've imagined.

If we're talking for weekly trading, doge could be quite a bit of a good choice, but you have to be very patient as to wait the increase and you need quite the capital so you could see the profit and there are far better choices than doge out there. But whichever it is, it's still your call, your individual choice. You have to choose what's the best for you, and not because someone told you so.

And we're talking for hodling about 2-3 years. No one knows for sure the future of any altcoins. I personally don't dare to recommend which specific alts to invest.
So, maybe stablecoins or major altcoins might be a better choice. Still, it's all yours to make.

my advice is better bitcoin and ethereum. Enough with these two coins, you can get profit. forget to look for other coins that are more profitable, because coins like that never existed. this year is the year for bitcoin and ethereum, so believe what I say because you won't regret it later

why it should in altcoin? if there is a trusted coin so far which is Bitcoin?
In my opinion, you should give more percentage in Bitcoin to your portofolio. Bitcoin is the best one here

I dont expect that altcoin can do better because of this bearish market, unless you do it for short term is okay

Hey. I would invest only in BTC. I no longer trust a single altcoin. All altcoins that I sold in minus. But the good news is that there was no sale at the very bottom.
You don't have to put your money in a single investment, you have to minimize your risk of losing your investment. That's why it's better to invest in more altcoins rather than invest in a single coin which is bitcoin. I didn't say bitcoin is a bad idea to put your money. Instead invest it with bitcoin and more altcoins that has the potential to grow.

Altcoins also have the potential to tank to being worth absolutely nothing. Unless you stick to something in the top 10 on coinmarketcap, this is a risky way of doing things. You're better off just sticking with Bitcoin if you're gambling on some unknown coin to be worth a ton in the future. Most of the time it won't be worth anything and you would have been better off just holding Bitcoin.

ETH is considerable but i do somewhat oppose with IOTA but rather go with LTC instead.Future is not certain though but we can have some perception or views
that these coins would really have that factor that can go on in the future. 2-3 years time isnt really that far ahead and that 10k euro of yours will have that high
chance on earning some profits into that time but dont expect too much yet we wont be sure if they would either rose up its price or still on sideways.
Always expect the unexpected i shall say.

That's why it is important to do your research before investing into something which you are not familiar with. Although top 10 coins will be considered as safe but no matter how good the coins that you had invested if you don't understand it—it's still useless because you don't know how to make a profit from it.

I will also choose bitcoin because with his history is the coin which always give profit and recovered even if price was down, well anyway it might take maybe more than 3 years to reach 100,000$ but even so will get a lot of profit at that time.

You should create some plans before investing such a large amount of money. Don't worry too much about being late to invest in any cryptocurrency. You will not be late if you carefully prepare everything instead of becoming a loser. Besides, I see you are looking for a long-term investment, so you must have more knowledge about what you want to buy for your investment.

A few hasty people can achieve success, but most hurried people fail. Let's thoughtful preparation and have a clear plan. It will never waste your time!

I would all in for ethereum if i had those money and planning to invest for more than 2 years. Their plan for future cryptocurrency is really nice and the coin is growing every year, although the price is not so good right now but the product is developing, even they will have a revolution 2.0 next year. So i think it's really recommended to buy for a long run

Its better to conduct your own research on what is the best coins for long term, because we have different reasons on why we are investing in a particular coin so dont rely in our suggestions.

If I were to invest such amount in 2 altcoins then I will choose eth and ltc, these coins are well-established and good for long term holding.

However I wont forget to invest a big portion to bitcoin, its wise to have btc in your portfolio especially if you're planning to hold your coins for few years.

As everyone mentioned, i will not suggest investing in any of these alt coins as i do not trust their development nor can there be a guarantee that we will see an huge rally in either of these coins but you can trust bitcoin if you were able to invest at the right time when the market are low and with the halving coming up you can earn your profits if you sell when the market rallies but you cannot say those when it comes to alt coin. So be a wise investor and not get stuck with your coins investing in alts.

Believe it or not most people do not really take the time to do such a simple exercise, dogecoin could be a good coin to trade if you have the right skills but it is definitely not a coin to hold as an investment because as you say it has been moving within a range for a very long time and since the OP is looking for recommendations about in which coins to invest then dogecoin is definitely not a good choice, but if I were him and I had that amount of money then I will probably choose ethereum as the best and safest investment in the altcoin market.

if I have 10k euros, I will choose to hold 50% to ethereum, and 50% to BNB. it might be better. seeing the progress of the BNB so well until now, I think in the future BNB will make a big improvement. in fact, a few moments ago, many compared BNB with ETH. so, if I was told to choose 2 coins, then I would choose ETH and BNB.
