Title: Unable to send BTC in electrum from imported wallet era 2011
Post by: jasonmbrown on December 03, 2019, 10:11:56 AM
Basically Im trying to transfer all my bitcoins into a single wallet. Its been a while and I still had some BTC in a few online wallets and some local wallets.

I Imported the wallets from Bitcoin Core Into Electrum, however Electrum Refuses to send the coins anywhere it just sits at the Transaction screen Looking like this->https://i.imgur.com/vVA3IDR.png

It looks exactly like the Preview window except it required my password to.

I have tried multiple times, Its about 20$ CAD (0.00195481 btc) and its starting to bother me, since That specific address is in Electrum but not the Imported address's (I didn't notice this prior to sending the 0.00162615 btc)

Now I just want to move it to another wallet, but since its not from my bitcoin core address's I am confused where it even came from.

I am almost sure that you've imported addresses into Electrum. Doesn't Electrum show by chance [imported, watching only]?
If you don't import private keys or seed you cannot sign, hence you cannot spend.

The only way to prove your ownership so you can spend is by private keys.
Please try to find and import private keys or seed. Make sure you don't post those here (!)

Ya its weird I managed to get it working, It looks like Electrum only imported the wallet address's not the privkeys. I just manually exported the privkey for those address's via bitcoin core console (Which doesn't actually show up in my bitcoin core as being mine).

Anyway After Manually importing the priv keys for those address's that had any btc in them, IT seems to be working properly.

Im rather annoyed that I cant get electrum to import the private keys in batch but what ever (Im ditching electrum after that, dont want to risk any screwups and just gonna fall back on bitcoin core)

Strange, you should be able to import private keys in batch... Which error message do you get?

In recent versions of Electrum that option will only be available in a non-HD wallet.  If you created your wallet with a seed phrase you will only be able to sweep keys, not import them.

@OP, have tried to sweep the keys?

One can always create a new wallet and use the option to use addresses or private keys for it. There too he can put more than one, I certainly used that with more keys, one private key per row.

screen Looking like this->...
This screen generally appears when you click preview on a watching only wallet (Sign and Broadcast buttons grayed out)

Does the message on Electrum title bar shows something like this:
"Electrum 3.3.8 - wallet_name [imported, watching only]" ?
