Title: Why are the world’s governments not using cryptocurrencies?
Post by: KillerQueenz on December 04, 2019, 08:16:13 AM
I’ve recently learned the many advantages of cryptocurrencies and how they can revolutionize the way we use money around the world, so why are the world’s governments not adopting them to be used as a form of currency?

There are many advantages of cryptocurrencies that surpass fiat currencies that we used on a day to day basis such as better security due to blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies not really being affected by global financial events as it is a decentralized currency

Why are the governments not adopting cryptocurrencies? Is it a world-wide conspiracy by the elite in order to keep in power? Or is it that the people in charge are rather ignorant of the advantages of cryptocurrencies in order to keep the current system of power?

The simple truth is that, they believe the jurisdiction of money should be what is under their control. Money is a huge manipulating factor and so, since cryptocurrency is not controllable, they might keep running away from it for a long time.

We can't trust the government 100% on this and i am sure there are some people in the government that are already making use of a privacy coins to make anonymous transactions. Some bank workers are already transacting with bitcoin. Some in the government knows about crypto and shows interest but what is keeping them back is FUD and threats.

of course due to the influence of the global elite, if from the point of view that I see all people and the public do not hate crypto currency even they want to learn this technology along with blockchain technology, for some reason I think the BANK owners will go bankrupt if everyone no longer uses money paper and switch to crypto, but again everything needs time for every change just like we used to transact using gold and until now paper currency, may later be replaced by digital currency, we don't know because there are no haters but people who want to learn this are worried about threats

Well, usually goverments are run by old people (in spirit and/or body) that are just too lazy to do anything. All they care is about the next paycheck, which means chances of researching, let alone adopting a new technology is out of the book... However, with adoption increasing by the day you can rest assured they will adopt bitcoin one way one way or the other.. Not because they actually care about the technology but because they care about their next pay check. And to get their next paycheck they need to tax the shit out of everything.  ;)

This is not entierly true. First of all you don't make difference between individuals and government as an institution. What private persons do, even if they are politicians, is one thing and official policy is another.
Governments are testing cryptocurrencies and they are not strictly against it but they need a legal and regulatory framework how to implement it into system. Would you like that economy of your country depends on something volatile like cryptocurrencies are and without any legal framework that would define what is legal or not and without any protection? I don't think so.
Using cryptocurrencies as an individual for private purpose is one thing and using it to run economy and society in some state is totaly another.

so why are the world’s governments not adopting them to be used as a form of currency?

Governments have their own history and sovereignty, and their governments' money also has its history. For example in the case of my country: the notes have photos of the heroes of the fight against colonialism.

Another point, bitcoin is something that has great volatility, yesterday the price was  $7350 and today the price is $7150. Last week the price was $7600 and today is at $7150. you can already imagine that this is a big problem if we want to use bitcoin as currency

There are many advantages of cryptocurrencies that surpass fiat currencies that we used on a day to day basis such as better security due to blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies not really being affected by global financial events as it is a decentralized currency

You can list these advantages, but cryptos have a major disadvantage which is the high volatility, this is undoubtedly an argument that governments will always use. I don't currently see many cases of scam and money laundering, which means that there will be a time when governments will no longer use the old argument that cryptos can be used as money laundering, but will use the argument that cryptos are very volatile.

Why are the governments not adopting cryptocurrencies? Is it a world-wide conspiracy by the elite in order to keep in power? Or is it that the people in charge are rather ignorant of the advantages of cryptocurrencies in order to keep the current system of power?

My country is a poor country, imagine that a merchant of my country accepts bitcoin as a means of payment, with such volatility he will go bankrupt

The answer was already given by some of my fellow forum members. So I will try to summarize the facts,

1. Governments know for a fact that, cryptos can't be controlled by them.
2. Cryptos are pseudo anonymous so it is very difficult to trace down an illegal activity involving cryptocurrency.
3. Crypto prices are very dynamic and fluctuative. Which makes it a bad choice to be used as a currency.
4. Banking lobby openly promoting cryptos as a scam to support their own survival. Banking lobby is probably the strongest one among other lobbies and they are effectively using their network against cryptos

I belive these are the major reasons why governments are not willing to adopt cryptos within their mainstream economy.

I think they do not want the nation's finances to be dependent on market volatility. They have no control over cryptocurrencies, so they discourage use of it.

Not exactly about that. It is about having control of it, they do not have some sort of control and that is what they want to overcome. If they have control, then they have the power to expand their capability in any terms. Volatility is just a small factor for them since they can create centralized crypto where they can use stablecoin if they want to.

Cryptocurrency is decentralized and not under their control. If they will use it it will only mean that they acknolwdge crypto as legally accepted currency which they have bo jurisdiction. Who don't even know if the government is not really using crypto or if they have been using it secretly.

Some of them might use some cryptos as one of the parts of their financial reserve (maybe with seized BTC and other cryptos?). But the point here is the volatility.
More likely is that some special services might be using them already for years as speaking of their grey/black budgets.

It is impossible, they won't and they don't even try using it as one of the parts of their financial reserve. You said it yourself, volatility is what makes them stop about the idea of using bitcoin. It is not just risky but they cannot afford to have losses just because of its price changes.

Government says it's due to security purposes and some are afraid in the fact that it's transparent that all transactions will be known and might be a hindrance in their plans of corruption. But wise move is to implement a blockchain system even not totally in crypto, but the blockchain alone can help them in their services.

its simple cuz governments don't want to lose the power of control everything. if they accept cryptocurrencies then they will lose the power of controlling the price of a currency also it can kill there own country currency.. that's why most of the countries afraid to use or adapt the crypto but soon or later they have to accept in assets form or they will set new terms for crypto but they will accept the crypto  ::)

This is just simple as governments keeping people under their control. When it comes to fiat it is limited to be under their control, while same can't be achieved when cryptocurrency is used. This is the major reason for governments not using cryptocurrencies even after knowing the true potential and need of the technology driven cryptocurrency.

Crypto is firstly a work in progress. It still has a lot of things to be tested to establish it as a proven technology.
Government on the other hand operates as being a middleman in trade of goods and services. It gets paid to maintain order in chaos.
Crypto if successfully implemented not only decreases the size of government but also threatens the business that flourishes under it's shadow.

Because they can't benefit from bitcoin unlike from printed fiat currecies. The worl government is all about power and money, they use and believe what they created and what they can manage to have a grip too and it's not cryptocurrencies. They will struggle in trying to have control over crypto networks which what they need to do if they want to use and let the world use cryptocurrency.

It's not because they're ignorant, but rather they choose to stay away from adoption to keep current banking systems that (1) provide them easy tracking of person's details for whatever their reason is (criminal tracking/surveillance), and (2) cryptocurrencies give people the power through financial freedom, which the government doesn't want since illegal activities might increase in number while getting harder to monitor and solve such cases on an anonymous blockchain.

Cryptocurrency is all about decentralization and being your own bank and making transactions without having to relay on any third party, and for governments that is not something that they can afford, because they would have no control over the flow of the money and where or from who the transactions are going and coming from, so there is no point of creating a crypto that is controlled by the government that is centralized, crypto can only accepted by the people because it is controlled by them and used as a peer to peer payment methods, and not as an official payment method made by the government.

They sure using privacy coins and someone managing their wealth to be hidden since untraceablr and using a stealth addresses which can hide your real transaction on the blockchain which really hard to track.

And we cannot trust government since they are the one who is really has the power to manipulate people and use their wealth.

~snip~

Currently there is a lot of uncertainty on the part of some governments about bitcoin, many economists who are advisors do not think the cryptoactive is good because they consider it as a high-risk investment, however lately a lot of rumors have been brewing about a possible fall of the economy, negative interests and the US initiative for the creation of the digital dollar using Blockchain.

Some countries like China are preparing their economy for the launch of their cryptocurrency, and take the opportunity to speak ill of Bitcoin, some German banks are very involved in the issue with Bitcoin and Crypto, they are giving freedom to manage Bitcoin, and the radical Russia somehow wants to ban or become anti-bitcoin, this article tells it: Russia Reportedly Considers Ban on Using Crypto as Means of Payment, Cointelegraph (https://cointelegraph.com/news/russia-reportedly-considers-ban-on-using-crypto-as-means-of-payment) what governments are looking for today is to obtain liquidity anyway, I think that is the premise, in the end they will end up accepting Bitcoin technology and market because it offers better guarantees that the traditional economy.

Let’s face the facts. Just like what others said, most governments want to have control over almost everything. And when there is control, there is power. Power translates to money. And money is almost fuel for anyone to do almost anything. Bitcoin = Money ≠ Control. They won't want that at all.

What we could do is to vote those who are in support of blockchain technology and let them be the deciding factor towards a decision that is good for the people. At least if they are vocal with the use of these kinds of technology, then sooner or later, there would be more applications towards the use of cryptocurrencies.

The obvious answer is that governments want to control people and consequently they want to control the money that they use.  They can inflate the value away, they can seize it, they can censor it, they can ban people from receiving payments in it, and they can put currency controls on it at the border.  In short, controlling money, means controlling people, and that is just a short incomplete list of things governments don't like.

Inflation is a huge hidden tax on everyone and governments do not want to give that up.  Bitcoin (or other non-centralized crypto, of which there are almost no others) prevents or at least helps to limit, most of those issues.

Basically it is not the government that will really use it, it is their people that will determine what could be the impact of bitcoin to their country. Government could stop it, but most of the time, they aren't because they trust their people and their people trust them. Just like in my country, Government is not utilizing bitcoin but they allow people to use it. Meaning to say that the point of this topic should center on the people, and not directly to answer the question why do worlds government not using crypto, and the answer to that is because they will definitely not use it because it is more beneficial for people.

too soon to conclude the world government does not use cryptocurrencies, some state governments have prepared themselves to adopt cryptocurrencies, for example, China

Country governments around the world will definitely use cryptocurrency as an alternative payment method in their countries, just wait until that trend arrives.

It is very clear the government does not use cryptocurrency because it cannot be controlled, the price is volatile, transparent, and
widely used for illegal transactions. This makes the government not legalize cryptocurrency even though there are many the benefits
that can be obtained. Then from that impact on the development of crypto which is quite slow, because lack of support from the
government. As of now the number of people using cryptocurrency is still small, but I am optimistic in the future cryptocurrency users
will multiply. If that happens then the government will be forced to support cryptocurrency.

In actuality, some are still researching for possible integration of the blockchain technology in their current monetary system like USA for example and also there are countries like China who are on the verge of releasing their own cryptocurrency backed by their central bank. It is not about cryptocurrency though but rather the blockchain technology itself had been a major breakthrough in hastening the transactions which is vital in the economy that would yield to the positive exponential growth.

Lols, this shows quite clearly how ignorant some of the crypto zealots are!
Do you think that by using cryptos a country will be safe from financial turmoil? You've just managed to find the holy grails my friend.

Let's say Saudi Arabia is using bitcoin. It exports 9 million barrels a day worth 90 000 BTC.
Suddenly China and the US ban gas cars and the demand for oil plummets by half and Saudi Arabia's exports drop to only 40 000BTC,
How will that shield it from global events?
A series of terrorist attacks happen in Thailand making tourist numbers on which the country depends go down by 90%. How is bitcoin going to help? How would bitcoin help Argentina if the country is spending more than it produces?

You guys really think that cryptos and the blockchain are the solutions for everything!
Reality check, no it's not!
Somalia isn't going to become the world's biggest car manufacturer by adopting Bitcoin, Angola is not going to become the top tourist destination and for certain Moldova is not going to have a higher income per capita than Luxembourg!

Cryptocurrency is all about decentralization and being your own bank and making transactions without having to relay on any third party, and for governments that is not something that they can afford, because they would have no control over the flow of the money and where or from who the transactions are going and coming from?

Oh tell me, how were they doing this with paper money before the internet?
How have they been able to track this for millennia and they won't be able to do it now when they get a lot of help from the public blockchain?

In Rome, you could tax people while they used coins and everyone was dealing offline (lol) over the counter, spread through an empire where it took the taxman days to reach the most remote villages but no, it can't be done now when the government know how much you make, what car you drive, what house you own where you fly and how many nights you book in a hotel?

Seriously, bitcoiners are so childish sometimes.

Many governments have serious corruption that is uncontrollable because it is private and they manipulate every transaction here and adopting crypto can stop their malicious intent.

Because the Blockchain is transparent and whatever transaction we have here is recorded. This is why corrupt government officials fear this.

I guess the main reason why the government doesn't like having cryptocurrency is because they cannot able to regulate it. Having a decentralized characteristic could be also a factor. Another reason is could be because it is not stable, it is hard to manage a currency that has no stable value. Due to cryptocurrencies anonymity, crime concerns could be another factor. Cryptocurrency is indeed good to use but in some aspect, we cannot remove the fact that has negative impacts as well.

It is because the most popular is decentralized and the gov't doesn't have full control to it that's why they chose not to touch it until now. Some countries notably adopted it just like Malta and Japan but the rest, they have their own reason which is like that.

How can you say that crypto's are not affected by global finance events? if you have noticed the last bear market, the stocks were also down so do bitcoin and the crypto market was. I don't think that's a coincidence but there's a true connection for both somehow.

Why aren't governments adopting cryptocurrencies like bitcoin?  For one thing, there isn't enough bitcoin available for multiple governments to own significant amounts--just look at bitcoin's market cap and you'll realize this.  Bitcoin would have to be worth millions per coin in order for that to work.

Second, how could any government justify spending money on crypto when it's probably the most volatile asset out there right now?  And to what purpose would they put that crypto?  The government in my country isn't having any problems whatsoever with the fiat they're pumping out at alarming rates.  It works for them even if it's not going to work for anyone in the long-term.  My guess is that they don't see any advantage to using crypto, and it's too risky to boot.

That's the same reason banks haven't adopted bitcoin.  It's also the reason why most people haven't adopted bitcoin--it's too volatile to use as a currency, and there isn't a fiat crisis such that using crypto would become necessary.  For nearly all businesses and people, fiat works for them and bitcoin isn't a solution to an existing problem.

It is not easy to implement also cryptocurrency and bitcoin is not yet completely implemented as a currency in a lot of countries,
A lot of people will surely be going to use fiat money since it is more reliable than cryptocurrency or bitcoin for sure.
A lot of countries is still not ready for this kind of technology and need a lot of time to adjust to implement this kind of technology.

A decentralized cryptocurrency is convenient to use for people, but it is absolutely disadvantageous for governments. Cryptocurrency has practically nothing to do with their national money. For governments, cryptocurrency is a no-man's “currency” not secured by anything, behind which there is not a single state that cannot be controlled and which has very high price volatility. Cryptocurrency is not suitable for use in international trade agreements. Therefore, now governments are switching to the use of stable coins, which combine the capabilities of cryptocurrency and conventional currency.

The legal stable coin option is a great way to unlock more complicated things.

I still think long about how they will adopt bitcoin later, but for altcoin it's actually not too difficult because they only need to apply strict regulations for every coin that only has a CEO, each registration will also be a proof of responsibility for the development of adoption, so the government must ensure legal access first.

Government says it's due to security purposes and some are afraid in the fact that it's transparent that all transactions will be known and might be a hindrance in their plans of corruption.

This is to tell you that, the government breeds in secrecy. They don't want any mechanism that would make governance an open affair, especially governments that deprive their people rights of citizenship. They close up any avenue of association for the people.

The simple truth is that, they believe the jurisdiction of money should be what is under their control. Money is a huge manipulating factor and so, since cryptocurrency is not controllable, they might keep running away from it for a long time.
This is why fiat money will stay and cryptocurrency will still be an alternative. The government always want a control and always want to collect more taxes as much as possible. Cryptocurrency is good, it works well and a lot more faster compare to bank transactions but since the government don’t want a decentralized market it will be hard for us to climb high as easy as possible. In time, blockchain will become a big thing so let’s wait for that moment and hopefully the government will finally support it.

Currencies like USD/euro/yuan are inflationary and fake. If you look closely, governments/elites have been pouring outrageous amounts out of nowhere, on top of creating debt/collecting taxes. Private money in the hands of foreign/free individuals is USELESS to them. Therefore if they can't take all of it then they need to inflate it out of your pockets or pay you with fake duplicate value stored in national banks that would absolutely collapse in case of a bank run.

You could legimitately say that in our civilization, "real" money is not implemented and the whole system is rigged. The goal is to get you to work, not to reward you. As a human, that's all you ever want from other people: you want them to work for you and pay them as little as possible, in actual value. Try becoming a billionaire and you will see, how many obstacles will be on your path, and how much value they will steal from you, if you play honestly. And it's not just about evil governments, the human species is just helpless and dishonest as a whole. They will always exhibit tribal behavior and try to eat a piece of you somehow. You can't reliably store value using fiat currencies.

Crypto prevents manipulation. Limited supply, everyone plays equally and everyone has the same legitimacy. Value is either stable or increases over time. Free individuals can take over the world without asking for anyone's opinion.

If you look at the history of this civilization, this is the biggest, the most mathematical "Fuck you" ever sent to governments ever. And there's little they can do about it besides try to tax crypto, protect their fiat prison, or prove P = NP. That's why they're not using it.

Yes. Even if we think how useful crypto to all of us but once the government does not allow crypto to be legalized because its a decentralized currency and they can never control it, so they will never support it for mass adoption. Although we have learned that some governments are already supporting crypto, then it will surely take time to make all governments allow crypto to be a global currency.

The various government laws ranges from restricting any exercises involving cryptocurrencies. Some bar their citizens from taking part in any sort of exercises cryptocurrencies locally, yet enable citizens to do as such outside their outskirts. While some rely upon whether the token offered is viewed as a security or a unit in an aggregate investment, an evaluation put forth on a defense by-case basis.

These shows the various reasons, both known and obscure to either support government guidelines or their feelings of dread not to  affect financial institutions productivity and conversely keeping up their economy wellbeing.
Every country is autonomous and their laws should be respected. Though we still have countries who have discovered how to maximize the benefits of cryptocurrencies.

It's a simple case that most of the governmental bodies are not up to date to the current technological advancement, they are really afraid of every new invention, they don't like a new thing which could change the system, Basically, they are not ignorant but they pretend to be ignorant, They only want to control over everything, that's why they are not using Cryptocurrency because they know cryptocurrency is not controllable, there is another reason for the conventional banking system, Most of the owners of the Banks are related to this government so they always push aside to the government. this is the real scenario of this system.

It is fully develop and ready to help us in our society. But the problem is its volatility and unstableness. The bitcoin itself is fixed and the things that should be tested are the program that regulates it.

Government doesn't want to regulate bitcoin in their country because it is hassle to keep. I think although it is a currency, it's still digital and can be hacked or scammed by other people.
We can't blame the government of not using cryptocurrency because they just want to use efficient, real and less hassle in economy.

That is not the reason, there is no way that people will stop using fiat for good and I don't see any effect of crypto to fiat if it will be implemented to be use by any other people. Crypto can be use as an alternative option to make transactions. But there are things that the government need to considerate before they allow the wide usage of it. The reason is still unknown, since they are still in the middle of studying how they can take advantage of it.

It's because governments want centralized system which cryptocurrencies do not have. They can not control and manipulate cryptocurrencies. Yes, there are tons of advantages of it that government can be use in the future. And some governments is reconsidering cryptocurrencies as their alternative currency but we can't deny the fact that not all people will gonna accept new technology like this.

However, there are also government officials who are open for cryptocurrencies. I am very optimistic that time will come that governments will allow cryptocurrencies to prove their potential uses

Blockchain is already been noticed by more government and business institutions. Sooner or later the adoptions will be more wider and because of that
cryptocurrencies will also find its way to gathered more support, it will serve as another form of digital money same with other payment process which already been around for some time. We just need to wait and keep using this industry to create more attentions.

And of course those aren't the simplest reasons why they don't accept bitcoin. There are also serious reasons such as the volitle price that could be offset by the value of money that government has used for it.

It is also not possible to implement this because many people are not aware of bitcoin and especially using computers and mobile phones.

And because the blockchain is transparent where all transactions are recorded it may also be because corrupt government officials can no longer secure their corrupted project.

Because politicians and bankers would lose control. You like most people think the money used in the economy actually exists "somewhere" as a whole, but it doesn't. With fiat money, this is easy to disguise and you appear to live in that illusion. With Bitcoin this is not possible, every single satoshi is accounted for in the blockchain.

Did you know banks only keep 10% (or less) of your money at any given time? I bet you didn't. You should investigate fractional reserve banking.

Truth is, Bitcoin makes things clear and transparent, unlike the way things are right now. It is in fact a cause to make the economy collapse, because the current economy is based in non-existent money. It is a gigantic ponzi scheme, banks and governments make the MLM people look like saints.

With fiat money you can't tell how much money is out there, especially in electronic fashion. You see digits and zeroes in your bank account, i think that money exists somewhere in a vault. It doesn't.

This is a shocking reality most people ignore, as long as they can go on with their lives...

Since Bitcoin removes the veil, those that scam the most have the most to lose. When this reality becomes apparent on a worldwide scale, the economy will have to change probably with the last of the crashes.

If you learn truth today, you have the chance to flee into Bitcoin (or gold whatever). Like any MLM scheme, there is not enough for everyone to withdraw (which is what causes the collapse or "pop" of the bubble), most people would not be able to cash, unless it is done slow enough to give time to banks to shrink. Usually that is not how it happens, people enter in panic and the bankrun occurs.

Now think of a worldwide bankrun. Less than 10% of the money in banks exists at any given time...

The irony is that some people say Bitcoin is the bubble "because is backed in nothing"... But Bitcoin is valuable for other reasons, while fiat money isn't. A "promise" that your fiat "could" be exchanged by "something" at the bank. In reality it is impossible, since even when "backed" nominally, they practice fractional reserve as well and in most legislation you can't actually exchange the thing, ie. USD for gold when it was "backed" in it. It was all a mountain of lies, a bubble waiting to pop. When the USD was no longer "backed" by gold in 73, they lowered the pressure a little, it was the honest thing. People should get in their heads that fiat currency is only valid as long as their governments continue to "keep the promise". But don't you ever try to make them fulfill it...

You know that politicians are liars, they say one thing and do the opposite. Honest money like Bitcoin is too dangerous for them, as their secrets would come to light. And yes, some would like to FUD people into thinking Bitcoin is "criminal's" money, when the main criminals are them. Bitcoin has its rules exposed and accepted by the community that uses it, fiat isn't. The rules for fiat cam be changed by decree, ie. when a gov decides to print "some more" to make their budget fit in, and at that moment everyone becomes poor. Do it slowly enough like the USA and most people would even think that coin is great.

But they can't control Bitcoin. Its 21 million. If the community wanted 42, the whole would need to accept this change, not a few guys in power. Everyone would need to be willing to accept a "half value" from such devaluation, something that is never consulted to people under fiat currency rule. I imagine if something like this would ever occur, it would be with a hard fork probably with some rule that everyone owning 1 would now own 2 after it takes effect (so that in theory everyone would keep the same). This is too convoluted and unnecessary anyway and will probably never be done, but its an extreme example.

Of course the true base unit is the satoshi, which every bitcoin contains 100 million of... If you express things in satoshis rather than bitcoins, it has ample space left for low value expressions, far more than the useless cents of USD and EUR.

You have read the advantages of cryptocurrency but you didn't read the disadvantages, did you? Nope. Cryptocurrencies are very good, yes we all know that but there are still disadvantages. But, that doesn't mean the government is not going to adopt cryptocurrency, they will, but not these particular ones we have now.

As a matter of fact they are already looking into cryptocurrency - PBOC already announced that they are releasing their cryptocurrency any time from now. And I also saw another news that South Africa is looking into cryptocurrency. A bank in the United States is doing the same and UK has been studying it for a long time now, since 2014. So it's just a matter of time and they will start rolling out. But they are not going to replace the current monetary system.

At first please can you clarify how bitcoin can revolutionize the way we use money around the world? Imagine I am just foreign person and don't know what it is so enlighten me.
Personally I think the way cryptocurrencies surpass fiat currencies is that they can be limited and no one can fake that. Cryptos as a payment method is another huge thing where I see the light.
Do you really think governments will use cryptocurrencies if they aren't sure that they have huge control on it? Government won't let you to print money and spend your printed money, they print as much money as they want and it's legal for them while illegal for you. Also they find it legal to create debt that you have to pay but find illegal from you to not pay taxes and etc.
It's still good they don't touch crypto that much but also I want to mention that in Ohio you are able to pay taxes via cryptocurrencies that's a good thing.
Currently as I see governments are hugely interested in blockchain technologies because of it's benefits.

The main reason is as someone stated before: Governments can not control cryptocurrencies as regular fiat for their countries.

That's why they are "angry" to adopt it no matter what, unless there is regulation on legal activities between all participants (people and government).

Also it's hard to regulate it and make some legal laws as the government and president have to agree on it.

Cryptocurrencies don't have better security due to blockchain technology, in fact they have worse security from the point of view of government - if someone hacks their bank account, they will just rollback transactions because they are in a centralized database, but if the same happened with crypto, those money would be gone forever. Similarly, a rogue government official can't easily steal public funds by just sending them to his account - but with crypto it's very possible.

When it comes to security, crypto's benefit lies in the fact that you don't need to trust other people to store your money - and it can actually apply to governments too, as they not always trust other governments. So, there's a lot of pros and cons for using crypto by government in relation to security.

As for not being affected by global financial events - crypto is extremely volatile even without it, it can't be a good hedge just because it's not affected by fiat markets.

There's a lot of reason... Yes maybe they don't want to lose control and financial power. But you still have to look on other cases why the governments are not adopting cryptocurrencies aside being greedy. They cannot secure every users if they'll implement it. Adopting crypto as their main currency would produce more scammers and hackers that they can't handle because they don't have the control. So if ever people would lose money, to whom they will ask for help?

Nice topic by the way. But I think everything has both side.  If you compare with Arms, you will find it collaboration. By an Arms, you can do a lot of good things. Alternatively, you can kill someone by a single shoot out. So, In USA, government thinks a way but in another country, government thinks differently. As a result, some where it’s accepted wisely, somewhere it’s banned.

Sooner there will be many government who will use cryptocurrency as their currency. Since cryptocurrency is not pure has decentralized system so everyone can create a cryptocurrency who has centralized system such as Ripple who still success because its rank stay on the top marketcap.

Currently, the reason why most government on this world haven't accepted cryptocurreny for a transaction tool because they don't have any right to manage it whilst the attitude of the government must really be able to regulate all forms that occur in the country, moreover if we talk about money, they must be able to arrange it.

This is just the matter of time, when their citizen is prefer to use digital money than they use money paper you will see government will choose cryptocurrency/blockchain as a system for digital money. Such as in chinese who try to make their own digital currency and I just thinking if they success to implement it then there will be msny countries who follow this way.

If every country begin to use cryptocurrency every transaction will be visible in the blockchain. This means there will be complete transparency which gains the trust of people upon the government. But, governments dislike it, because they can't move funds unnecessary. This too is a major reason for governments to stay away from the cryptocurrency usage or development of their own cryptocurrency.

the main reason has already been mentioned on this. another reason is that crypto currencies are anonymous. the owner, from whom to whom, is unknown. besides, crypto is tax free and there is a lot of crypto fraud, and it cannot be monitored. while conventional currencies are all regulated by the state. transactions, and ownership can be seen.

But when that house of cards crumbles, we will see a massive adoption of cryptocurrencies, and unknown altcoins like batcoin available at https://exchange.thecoin.pw will become very valuable and useful forms of money.

Today, there is a situation where many governments express their dissatisfaction with the cryptocurrency or try to ban the activities of their citizens in the cryptocurrency market, but one way or another their actions will not succeed, because one way or another they will be forced to accept cryptocurrency and legalize it in their countries.  I believe that in a sense, control of the cryptocurrency is needed in order to stop criminal activity with the help of cryptocurrency, and many officials understand this.  If you want to avoid negative consequences, there is no other way than the legal circulation of cryptocurrency and sooner or later governments will agree to this.

It is still too early for governments to adopt cryptocurrencies i.e. the blockchain. Right now, almost all of them use fiat currency to issue currency to their citizens.

Maybe we will go back to a gold system soon and then maybe governments will issue their own blockchain-backed currencies.

Around the world, many governments are now beginning to consider the idea of adopting a cryptocurrency. By doing this, they will receive cryptos like Bitcoin and Ethereum as real world currencies.

Yes, this will ultimately mean there will be a need for regulation and (perhaps) strict regulation, but we must remember that this is a good thing. The broader adoption of the global cryptocurrency can only begin when the government starts accepting it.

maybe the current government has not been able to accept bitcoin because they are very worried about some issues such as cryptocurrency in general often called vulnerable to hacking and cryptocurrency also cannot be controlled like they can control fiat currencies, of course this is a problem that is highly considered by the government if they want to use bitcoin.

And basically the government also really does not like something that can not be arranged.

Because blockchains of many cryptocurrencies are transparent — you can see where the money came, in what amount, in General, all transfers are open to everyone. Corrupt officials in governments do not want people to see all transactions in public, because it will not be possible to redistribute part of the funds directly into their corruption pocket.

not too general because as far as i know there are states in US that accepts Bitcoin as government payments have just not bookmarked the thread but according to google OHIO is the first to accept as tax payments things that you can see here

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ohio-appears-to-be-first-us-state-to-accept-bitcoin-for-taxes-wsj-report

but i am sure there are others who does the same thing,so that means it wasnt the whole world but Majority dont accept Bitcoin and other crypto also.

of course I think the main reason the government did not adopt cryptocurrency was because crypto was decentralized and anonymous. and also every country and government has a national currency that they can control. when they adopt crypto, the government loses control of the citizens' money. and the next reason crypto is anonymous is easy to use for criminal acts such as money laundering and also I think most of our people are also not ready to use digital money they are used to using fiat money.

In the first place we need to answer the question, why do the government need to control people's money? Because people need it, the government needs it, everyone needs it. Possibly, the decentralized characteristic it has could be a threat for the control, but could not be a threat that the link between government and its people could be broken. If the problem is utilizing taxes, we could possibly think of ways crypto could do that. We don't want to be left by our government and we don't want to leave our government as well, why not just build teamwork.

Cryptocurrency is very famous for it is anonymous and decentralized with its secure blockchain. However, the government facilitate its people. They handle flat currencies because they are easy to manipulate and that they could monitor if people are already on the act of money laundering. Since cryptocurrency is a single entity on its part, it might be a universal currency due to countries' or governments' different type of currency. However, considering the state of each government with different levels of profit or earnings, cryptocurrency might cause feud among different and neighboring countries.

Reasons, why governments do not use bitcoin, are because cryptos are volatile, it is hard to make it as a currency. Bitcoin is decentralized, the government will not be able to control (which we all know they likely to control everything most especially money and other assets). Bitcoin is pseudonymous, they will not be able to track every transaction that is done using this currency (legal or illegal transactions).

First of all the data is stored in form of a public ledger in case of blockchain system and everyone can see where the funds are being transferred and from which address they are going which the government don't want us to see as to what they are doing in secret. And also that crypto is volatile and the value stored can become zero any time if anything bad happens in market or maybe due to a false rumour.

I thinl the government as a whole is not using it "officially" maybe because they are loyal to the local currencies. Its part of the tradition and culture even faces of the famous government officials are presented on the money. Well, I believe there are already government employees using crypto. Who is not interested to it when its very helpful especially in this digital age. Its just really hard to set up something fair and just between crypto and the government regulations. They are really two different entities.

most governments certainly realize that cryptocurrency is a new breakthrough that continues to be developed until it can have very valuable value. but although cryptocurrency is widely used as a means of payment like existing currencies, of course, every government will not free its use because every country must have a currency that has its own characteristics to be used as a means of payment

The governments are very right in not allowing cryptocurrencies in their respective areas of the regime as it would be like surrendering the financial authority of their country, which no country will ever allow. Cryptocurrency no doubt has its own advantages but from the government's point of view, they are there worst enemies.

These could be the major reasons of some governments to not using cryptocurrencies.
• Cryptocurrencies payments could be use for illegal works.
• It could stop the growth of economy
• Somewhere cryptocurrencies will boost tex theft
• New people are investing in cryptocurrency and they are getting scammed
• Honest and hard working cryptocurrency traders are getting rich which governments don't want.
So in my opinion these could be the major reasons of some governments to not using cryptocurrencies but the positive sign is all governments of countries have different point of views some are against crypto and some are not.

I for one think it's because they can't bear a world without the fiat, where competition of different country's currency is experienced.
They know the potentials of cryptocurrencies if used as a global currency, but to them, it will eliminate the competition and winning factors of a lot of country.
 Just my thought though.

I think think of the following reasons:-

They are too corrupted to even let anyone see their tracks , bitcoins is not open one can easily kill the corruption with It .

They are scared this will kill their own economy and profit , people won't use banks anymore and it will stop to exist.

Their dominance will die

People will have more freedom and no one would be able to control the population in terms of buying and selling stuff that is illegal , they are scared that it might just fuel up these things

They don't want their banks to suffer , since they are warning from that , most big bankers know this already and are controlling them from behind.

Cryptocurrency is decentralized and not under their control. If they will use it it will only mean that they acknolwdge crypto as legally accepted currency which they have bo jurisdiction. Who don't even know if the government is not really using crypto or if they have been using it secretly.

I want to say that the government who are always on the look for every opportunity to invest and make it fast can not claim or out rightly deny the fact about the knowledge of Crypto currency. And also possible investment on a secret note, but the Volatility of bitcoin which every investor know and is aware of could possibly be one of the strong reasons why the world government might be scared of using crypto currency. Also most of the government actually want control over the cash inflow and management. In a case where they would not be able to control and determine the price control of their money in use can actually cause reluctance on the part of the government  on adopting crypto currency as a currency  for use world wide.

these factors can be used as a reason why the world government does not use bitcoin, or the blockchain system as a transaction tool to make it more transparent. but if the transaction is done openly we have to think a lot about security because theft could target the funds.

Because technology adaption takes time and the government wants to revoke to use fiat until crypto becomes so common they well have to move over by demand. They will need to keep with the times and adopt the technology or fall behind. Right now you cannot be behind since there is yet a first comer to come along and create s crypto for their country. In the future it's very likely governments will move onto crypto. I think its as good as guaranteed.

With that been said, the reason why the government don't support or use crypto wasn't because of technology adaption but because it's not centralized.

A peer to peer transaction may benefit two ordinary person but it surely hurting middleman like banks that are backed by governments.

Because of decentralization of crypto currency. This will make the crypto more private and cannot be controlled by anyone. The taxes and laws that manipulate the income is not welcome here so I think governments are afraid in this type of stuffs.

Basically to be in control and trace back how much people are earning and having access to the bank accounts if need be. With crypto, this is not possible since it is relatively private as long as the wallet you use cannot be traced back to you. It will also hurt banks since banks allow people to take out loans in fiat and if people are using crypto they won't be taking fiat loans anymore.

Welcome to the Forum. Here on this forum we try to figure out pretty much the same thing together. We ask each other what conspiracy is going on  ;D ;D

Jokes Apart truth is that it's not that easy that it looks like. You have just read the advantages of cryptocurrencies but maybe you forgot to read the disadvantages that come along with it. Moreover it's okay for developed nations with literacy rate over 95% but there are a few countries with literacy rate below 70% do you expect people there would understand cryptocurrency and nodes which would be used to transact in such cryptocurrencies?? Thing is that cryptocurrencies would take a lot of time to settle down in our normal lives. First governments would try to eliminate these traditional cryptocurrencies which pose a threat to them and only after that you would be seeing cryptocurrencies started by various governments.

I think it's a good question and there are several reasons why governments don't use cryptocurrencies.

In the first place, money control is largely lost, because with the use of blockchain technology all processes are transparent, while in general the fiat broadcast in many countries is not entirely transparent.

On the other hand, people are not yet accustomed to cryptocurrencies, such a change can generate delays in trade.

It is also worth mentioning that to date no cryptocurrency is ready for such massive use, there is still the problem of scalability, although its solution is being worked on.

It is moving towards a general adoption of cryptocurrencies, but processes need to be consolidated and will take some years.

Governments from the beginning of time have known that it is on their best interests to control the money supply, in the past this was impossible thanks to gold but during the last century governments have finally been able to take control of the money supply with their fiat currencies and they love all the benefits that they get out of this.

But now they are realizing that such control may be coming to an end with the introduction of cryptocurrencies, fortunately for them so much time has passed since people used real money that they do not understand why they need bitcoin but if the economy keeps being mismanaged as it is now people will learn about the dangers of a currency controlled by the government and will look for other options.

We can't trust the government 100% on this and i am sure there are some people in the government that are already making use of a privacy coins to make anonymous transactions. Some bank workers are already transacting with bitcoin. Some in the government knows about crypto and shows interest but what is keeping them back is FUD and threats.
Why not have trust with government, they have stronger reason why not accepted bitcoin as legal currency payment transaction because their people less information about how to use bitcoin, many their region do not have higher speed internet access and make government not allowed payment using bitcoin and altcoin and many market not support and ready to use bitcoin as payment transaction.

That is in fact the major reason why, but still there are some ideas we could do to integrate cryptocurrencies and the government. In the first place, it is not really necessary that cryptocurrency should be centralized and should be handled by the government. I've just think of some ideas that maybe they could have their regulation on the local exchanges that their country has. What if they try to incorporate the exchanges to banks? Where people could choose cryptocurrency as their option of storing their money in a sense that banks will be the one that will serve as the exchange and people depositing money should pay the banks for taxes in exchange of their funds to be transferred to cryptocurrency.

I think some of the world's governments do not use cryptocurrency because they have not yet realized the potential and benefits that can be obtained from implementing cryptocurrency. secondly, they are afraid that if they legalize crypto, the sovereignty of their national money could be threatened. and finally the crypto is decentralized and anonymous. The government does not like something that cannot be controlled and anonymous crypto can be used for illegal or criminal transactions. and finally most of the people are not ready to use cryptocurrency and the government also does not yet have an infrastructure that supports cryptocurrency.

The government is always on the regulation sides that's why they never ever used a decentralized cryptocurrency. Hence, the same that happens in China they wanted to create their own cryptocurrency that they can control plus the risk of having Bitcoin with a strong volatility it makes the government so certain to stay away with it.

With a modern fiat financial system, the state can charge taxes automatically. It’s hard for me to imagine such a system based on Bitcoin that will allow to do this. In addition, it needs to be built, and it will take more than 5 years.

Because cryptocurrencies are not going to benefit the government, the government will not be able to collect taxes if their country accepts cryptocurrency and makes it a payment method. In addition, Fiat is a representative of a country, so cryptocurrency will never be able to replace Fiat

The simple cause when you are the owner of a cryptocurrency then only you have the access to it.  In case of fiat when you save your money in a bank, then both you and bank have the access to it. They are giving you some interest to you because they are making a higher profit using your money and interest is a small part of that profit. So a bank is accumulating huge money from all the people and investing it or giving loans to others. So there is a recycling of money by the bank controlled by the government. Now in the case of cryptocurrencies, you are the only owner of your money so there is a possibility of less recycling of money or independent recycling by individuals. So there might be a huge difference in the economy that Gov would have very little control over.

I’ve recently learned the many advantages of cryptocurrencies and how they can revolutionize the way we use money around the world
You may have learned that, but perhaps you haven't learned how many cryptocurrencies there are on the market and how most of them are of such low quality that they're practically worthless.  And there is also the issue of volatility, and it's a big one.

Governments would be ill advised to hold even bitcoin in reserve.  What would happen if a gov't bought it at $13,000 this year and held it?  They obviously would have lost a lot of money on paper, and I can guarantee you that the people of that govt's country would be very upset.  That's probably the main reason why they don't, and another reason is that bitcoin is just too new and isn't well understood by politicians.

Maybe not all governments are not using it, maybe some of them are also using it. I know some people with a position in the senate really come using cryptocurrency and even create their own token with his own money because he is rich, he is a billionaire. I can say that a different person has a different perspective on cryptocurrency. We all know that cryptocurrency is better to use than fiat, it has advantages in different terms such as payment method wherein you can make a transaction when you are buying making transactions faster than paying with fiat.

Who said governments are not using cryptos. In some countries government backed cryptos are already in existence and in some it is in the process of creation. Government might not support decentralized cryptocurrency like bitcoin but is not really against the blockchain technology or creating a cryptocurrency of their own. The advantages you listed is the sole reason these governments are venturing into cryptos. If it goes successful, they might altogether shift to cryptos in coming years from fiat.

The simple truth is that, they believe the jurisdiction of money should be what is under their control. Money is a huge manipulating factor and so, since cryptocurrency is not controllable, they might keep running away from it for a long time.

Wise answer. Merit.

Yeah, if they lose control then so does the rich people.
This world cannot be equal and it will never will or else there will be no one to work for food or serve them.
That is just the effect of using crypto currencies specially bitcoin.

Us, with transparency only in our transaction but never with how much do we really have. There is no information of who the owner here unless I tell it to you.
They don't like that kind of idea.

Better for the government to issue its own cryptocurrency. Actually some government is starting to issue their own cryptocurrency and some are still developing it. Previous , month China announced that they are launching their own, I hope this is just the start of the brighter future of crpto.

Most of countries are want to make their own cryptocurrency which is centralized, i don't think the people on their country want to use it because people are using cryptocurrency because of the decentralizeness, the anonymousity of cryptocurrency made cryptocurrency is really hype and used by many people. So , i think if a government make a centralized cryptocurrency i don't think it will success.

Not giving distributed for government take tax from bitcoin and not allowed using crypto as legal payment transaction, maybe although bitcoin have been legal always have way to to keep our self from paying tax to government, maybe make transaction to other account and sell bitcoin or altcoin to our friend from other country.

Government is willing to accept blockchain but not cryptocurrency. Since nobody can control the bitcoin blockchain, government can host their applications on private blockchain where they have complete control. There are very rear chances that most of governments will accept bitcoin or other cryptocurrency.

The biggest issue with government is control. bitcoin was made only to avoid any kind of interference. and if cryptos were accepted by the government they have to be centralized which is exactly the opposite of why cryptos were created in the first place.

Why are the governments not adopting cryptocurrencies? Is it a world-wide conspiracy by the elite in order to keep in power? Or is it that the people in charge are rather ignorant of the advantages of cryptocurrencies in order to keep the current system of power?
Such a conclusion cannot be drawn. Cryptocurrency is decentralized, mostly so, especially the most dominant and comprehensive use is bitcoin. While the government has full authority in controlling the economy, including money circulating in his country as a form of economic independence. Bitcoin has an anonymous administration, so that is one of the reasons why bitcoin cannot be adopted completely by all countries in the world. At any time I think bitcoin will only be an alternative payment, while on the other hand, its function as an investment tool and commodity trading will be maximized.

There is a monetary system that has been developing for centuries. Today, the world is economically ruled by certain centers. The transition to the new economic model is not easy. Because this means they lose control over the system. Bitcoin may be the key to the new economy.

Tracing back to the history of financial system. If we are to think about who started using the system of trading using money, it is not the government that really started trading, it is by the people who are travelling and meeting other in the foreign lands, and in fact, they've just decided to have a unifying currency when they realize they need it for unity. But before that there is a currency already.

What this means is that, as long as government aren't prohibiting us in using cryptocurrency, it will be a way for the transition, we all know that a revolution is effective when there is many supporters. As long as our numbers are multiplying, no government could stop it but to accept it, still, we are bound to their responsibility of regulating it.

Central bank issues or destroy funds and government approve the action and exert financial influence. Government likes fiat currency. Cause they can trace the  action of individual, who is sending money to whom, whether the person is paying taxes or not, whether anyone is involved into any criminal act or not. Government will have no control over those money. There are some other reason also and government like fiat instead of crypto

I always have different thoughts on this subject to explain the situation Why governments do not want to use cryptocurrency.  One of these explanations for this situation is to protect their citizens from possible losses that they cannot affect.  As always, people try to earn a lot of money, while not making any effort.  Of course, the cryptocurrency market conceals very great opportunities to become a rich person, but no less dangers are hidden here.  The cryptocurrency is unstable and because of the huge risk, the government does not want to take risks about this.

The money of each state should work for the economy of this state. Decentralized cryptocurrency has nothing to do with the economy of a particular state. Therefore, no state will ever switch to using a decentralized cryptocurrency as its main currency. However, a blockchain-based payment tool does have many advantages over conventional state money. Therefore, more than 70 percent of states are going to switch to the use of their national stable coins. This is a practical combination of the benefits of blockchain technology and fiat.

Maybe it is too costly to change  the infrastructure? They would have to recall all fiat and recycle it. Banks would have to revamp their entire system. I don't think that countries are ready for that yet. It's not absolutely necessary at his stage. Soon it will be and we will see very big changes. Both private companies and government running their own currencies.

Of course, shifting from centralized system into blockchain technology as means of financing could not happen in a snap of a finger. This should go a slow and steady phase if we really want to adopt it. But how can we do this if there are still acting protagonists, if we are not doing small adoptions (like businesses accepting crypto payments) and until now most places in the world are still unaware of bitcoin? Don't get me wrong guys, I know that everyday we're one step closer to our dream but honestly it still seems so far away from us. If you'll ask me if it takes a decade or a score? Cryptocurrency is an individual choice of each. Even if the government accepts crypto, it does not oblige you to participate in this. Compare crypto with gambling, why is the first dangerous when the other is allowed? It seems to me that a deny of adoption of crypto by the authorities consist in a risk to the government, crypto cannot be controlled unlike fiat assets. No power - no influence :-\

How big is btc?
What percentage of world's population is using btc?

The answer to both the questions is "NOT ENOUGH".
Government need not to spend both time and efforts on bitcoin as of now. It isn't that big a thing that anyone would be concerned about it. Some countries like South Korea where the bitcoin and altcoins are quite prevalent, there the government is pretty active too. But in other countries where ethe bitcoin users are not even more than 5% of total population. Even if it is more than that, the frequency of the use isn't that high, government isn't much concerned about the use of btc let alone accept it as a legal tender. Bitcoin is far from that point right now.

Legalization is price independent. The whole problem is that Bitcoin is decentralized, it’s P2P, without third parties. The government has banks that can be monitored and used for its own purposes at any time, which cannot be done with the Bitcoin ecosystem. This is why bitcoin is being accepted so slowly. Be realistic 80% of all states - a corruption and bureaucratic system

Government regulations are difficult to obtain, especially in bitcoin and the average crypto ecosystem, the reason is maybe they are afraid of transparency and in my opinion because it is difficult to control crypto making them rethink using it

But now bitcoin exists and it is clear that it opposes their wishes and while they would like to destroy it they do not really know how to do that.

Image, if we are the government are going to utilize the funds of the people for investment? Basically no, no government will try to invest the funds of the people to cryptocurrency and even to stocks, what the government don't want is the potential of cryptocurrency to change and turn the table of the national financial currency to digital in which they might have a problem in governance. In this regard, the taxes plays the biggest part here. Even me as a citizen doesn't really want that to happen, government needs us and we need government as well.

There are a lot of reason why the world government is not in favor to prioritize the adaptation of the cryptocurrency into the whole wide world is because they are afraid on different things that may happen. Cryptocurrency can control the money all over the world if it will be just legalize or accepted and that was one of the greatest fear of the world government, to lost the power of controlling the money all over the world in which we all know that cryptocurrency is decentralized and no one is controlling on it. If the legalization of bitcoin comes then the world bank will lose its priority because people will just use digital currency as their main currency.

For short, the government isn't really capable of handling modern technology and will just ruin their personal desires in the nation. I already expected that the technology will just be fair enough to the people and will bring disadvantages to the government personnel.

Take note that cryptocurrency can't control all of the money, there are many centralized assets out there and can be manipulated. This is the reason why the government isn't adapting to the vast changes in our society.

It is not about a government cannot handle modern technology, if you are talking about third world countries then you might be right, but there are countries that are wealthy enough to handle any technology and i doubt why everyone is expecting any country to accept a decentralized currency and it is not happening as the government likes to have full control about their economy and none of the government will use a decentralized currency but the choice on individual usage must be given to everyone and that is what i am expecting from the government to come up with rules and regulation.

That is not true at all... They do not use it simply because there is too much regulations to be taken caren of.

Most of the countries that are trying to legalize it are stumbling upon the fact of the hackers, money laundering and so on...

To regulate such actions it takes time and money to accomodate several network / transaction rules across every institutional such as banks.

Even the blockchain, it's a good technology and has a lot of use it other than crypto, why does the government keep avoiding it?

I know that some countries don't need cryptocurrency 'cause their already on top of it especially china who banned the usage of crypto in their country and they wanted full control of their good economy.

The thread have some funny answers  :D.

For short, thesome government isn't really capable of handling modern technology and will just ruin their personal desires in the nation. I already expected that the technology will just be fair enough to the people and will bring disadvantages to the government personnel.

Same reasons with your country, they want it full control for the money and usign crypto it will gonna be hard for them to track and know whos the owner of the address and balance. If they can regulate it and add some taxes to those people who earn from crypto , this things will work and government will accept it. The only problem i see is the government do not earn from this thats why they keep avoiding to make it as regular currency.

The government does not use cryptographic currency, perhaps because it is unstable in price, it is instability that frightens many in cryptocurrency.

That is not true at all... They do not use it simply because there is too much regulations to be taken caren of.

Most of the countries that are trying to legalize it are stumbling upon the fact of the hackers, money laundering and so on...

To regulate such actions it takes time and money to accomodate several network / transaction rules across every institutional such as banks.
on the other hand there are still many countries that are not suitable to use it, there are many calculations in it, not only is the system decentralized, but network facilities in developing countries are certainly different from developed countries, moreover crypto transactions must require the internet, besides that human resources are also a consideration

World governments are nothing but the respective political leaders of the country. And those leaders are either not educated enough or they just don't want to take the risks Bitcoin might possess towards their economy. Like if something bad happens, they will lose their political influences and will be hated by mass. They are unaware of the technology and also might be worried by the high volatility of crypto.

It is simply unprofitable for governments to use a decentralized cryptocurrency, they do not need it. For the state economy to develop normally, governments need to use their national currency. The great price volatility of cryptocurrency is just one of many reasons for this. Governments create and will create their national stable coins, which are the digitized currencies of the states and combine the advantages of an ordinary currency and cryptocurrency.

Why are the governments not adopting cryptocurrencies? Is it a world-wide conspiracy by the elite in order to keep in power? Or is it that the people in charge are rather ignorant of the advantages of cryptocurrencies in order to keep the current system of power?
They don't hate cryptocurrency, they like the idea, but if you think they are going to accept these decentralized cryptocurrencies we have today then you're getting it wrong. The government hate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because they are decentralized and volatile as well. These two things are what's making them not to like Bitcoin and a lot of people have tagged Bitcoin a scam because of its volatile nature and there are lots of them that are even wishing for it to die off and most of them are those that feel that they missed out so they just want everything to die off lol.

Right now, the government are starting to create their own cryptocurrencies and these ones are going to be stable and a bit different from the ones you have now.

government in a country has differences and also each country has differences in politics. and of course there will be a lot of rejection because of the difficulty of control for crypto and also the level of potential prices that have the risk of making it difficult for them to carry out economic control

I think one of the reasons why  the governments didn't use cryptocurrency even though it has many advantages is because they know or they have the idea and focuses on the risk that it may deal to their country. They receive many news that in online sites many people are getting scammed and cannot retrieve their lost money.

It is not beneficial for the government that cryptocurrency be in the ranks of banks. The bank cannot understand the volatility of bitcoins. We must take into account the fact that the "White Book" of bitcoin is not adapted for the banking system.  :)

i agree this might be one of the reasons why those country is not taking the initiative
some of the countries already know bitcoin and the technology behind it some of them already know the potential of it
but i think they are just afraid to take the risk or some of them is just waiting for other counties to adopt it first
in my opinion if one country fully adopts crypto many more countries will follow im just waiting for it to happen.

We all know that cryptocurrency is decentralized meaning it is not controlled by any of the governments out there. Since they want their transaction to become secured they are using fiat because that is the only money that can be controlled by the government. They don't want to use bitcoin because their want their transaction to be anonymous because it is confidential.

Plus, crypto is not yet stable in terms of price and it is not profitable for the government either, as crypto is not yet regulated by the government.

crypto control can be through mass crypto currency migration support using a centralized blockchain for equity settlement. This is indeed not possible and currently can only be applied to Paxos for the initial stage, but also does not exclude the possibility of further development in secondary options. If it is indeed possible for the government to use it, then every crypto must be a little out of their old system.
