Title: Bitmain.Farm SCAM ?
Post by: mikeywith on December 12, 2019, 10:17:19 PM

First of all I would like to address that this topic is not about Bitmain (www.bitmain.com) but its about what appears to be their Cloud Mining/Referral program website (www.Bitmain.Farm)

A simple google search for the word "bitmian" gives you this fake website on top of the list.

It's okay, we know google don't monitor scams and stuff, but this shit sucks really, scammers all over the place and then Bitcoin will be the thing to blame  :-\

I am making this topic because I have not found anything on google that states the fact that these guys are scammers, the website is pretty new I suppose since the ads only started appearing today.

I would like to clarify that I have not been scammed by (www.Bitmain.Farm) , I don't know anyone who was , but I am 99.9% sure they are scammers , but why is that?

They pretend to be the real Bitmain when they are not

This is the only thing I have against them, I don't care what are they trying to sell or how they do it, I am pretty sure they are planning to scam newbies , please DO NOT TRUST BITMAIN.FARM .

If Bitmain.com states otherwise, then I am wrong.

If it ended up as an AD on Google search and it shows no results from the main results listed, it's a thumbs-down for me.

There is no need for proofs here to show how legit or not they are. Anyone should think twice before dealing with this site.

Maybe you just need to adjust your filters or something like that in the browser settings? I've searched for the word Bitmain on both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome but shows no AD on the headers or even the bitmain farm site itself. Or might it be IP and location-based?

bitmain.farm is also the first site that came up when i searched bitmain. it's an ad so they paid google to be on that position.

but they have the same hotline number -

if someone is seriously considering bitmain.farm, they can always contact that number to secure its relation with the legit one.

I think Google has targeted advertising sort of thing , so maybe the add doesn't appear to everyone, maybe location matters too , I don't know what I don't know in regards to Google ads.

but they have the same hotline number -

That's a brave thing to do , but who calls nowadays anyway? they are probably betting on the fact that nobody actually picks up the phone and call a company based in China , I doubt Bitmain will pick up calls anyway, unless you are lucky, but ya , wouldn't hurt to try , just consider the time-zone differences.

Are you signed in to a google account?

Yes it's a complete scam, good find.
A neat touch where the "shop now" link redirects to the real Bitmain, but poor stuff with the Txids being instantly discoverable as fake.
Overall, a 4/10. Must try harder, scammers...

Are you signed in to a google account?

Yes I am , but the same thing appears searching while logged-out , I tried using Internet Explorer which I have not used for ages , and I still got the same scam website showing up, but this time it's placed second after another shitty Masternode website (www.nodepools.com).

Clearing cash/cookies and using a VPN did not stop Bitmain.Farm from appearing either, I am not sure how these ads did not appear to goinmerry.

If I google "Bitmain", logged in or out of a Google account, I get no paid ads showing.
I also get 1,250,000 less results than you (4,960,000/3,710,000).
Frightening really.

The second ad in your screenshot (antminer dot store) also looks shady AF. Selling "in stock" miners at the same price as preorders on Bitmain website; offering "unconditional" refunds.

Many of these scammers know how Google search works and therefore they take advantage of what Google knows about you to steal your money.
The focus is on reports of purchases/sales of mining equipment in your country, and therefore an attempt to show that site (paid ads) to any search for the word "Mining, Bitman, ...etc" from the IP address of the country concerned.

Using private mode feature, removing cookies, and changing the IP address will reduce the accuracy of these ads.

It's surely a scam !

For me whatever I do, login or logout on google, clear cookies, try different devices, use tor..I get the same result on top by searching simply "bitmian" every time. They are probably using some cheap SEO techniques to pump them up with that keywords.

As I see the website and more stuff around it.

One can clearly see, the original https://www.bitmain.com/ was created on Created on 2007-07-16 while the fake https://bitmain.farm/ was created on Created on 2019-08-09 around 4 months ago.

Also,

Fake : https://bitmain.farm/:

In the above details about the website, one can see many of things are faked and no tech contact is even mention of on the fake https://bitmain.farm/. There are even difference in IP locations.

Fake transactions on there website which link to the original Antpool (https://v3.antpool.com/home/), unprofessionally developed webites with social media thumbnails linking nowhere, all of this is enough to put this up as an scam con and seeing it on the first search record on google is really harmful and unwanted overall.

A year later and these guys are still scamming, for some reason their ads don't appear to me anymore on Google, but that doesn't really solve the problem.

@Guby.world, as far as I know, Coinpayments.net is nothing but a payment-gateway, in other words, they are not the once who scammed you, however, since they "could" potentially block all the scammers (at least the obvious once) from using their services, then I can say without a doubt that these guys are not to be trusted and you should indeed contact them and contact the local authority in Estonia.

Here is a scam accusation  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4706427.0)against Coinpayment.net

I hope I did not miss any discussion above.

Two options for us when we see this type of sites.
- Report to google (search engine service) so that they remove the advertising
- Report to the domain service provider.

Google search box always a make advertising and give a change scammer input scam and phishing
I think we can not blame google at all. They have their algorithm and if anything is okay to pass their algorithm then it will be listed. Scammers always do their homework before executing their plan.
