Title: Need your advice (bloggers, bounty hunters)
Post by: dtb.agency on December 16, 2019, 11:37:25 PM
Wazzup.

We kindly ask you to evaluate initial idea of launching/rebranding a platform for bloggers.

Findings
There's a news portal (lets call it ABC) that used to be a real news portal since 2017. After cryptoboom is over the guys still post some news from time to time. They want to modify the portal and attract lots of Bounty Hunters (blogging campaigns), writters, copywritters to join and write what they like on the portal. The categories are e.g. blockchain, ico/ieo/sto, moneymaking etc. It would be allowed to copywritte their own articles which they write on other webpages/blogs (~75% unique content at least). The ABC portal will neither be paying nor taking fees for using the portal. Moreover the ABC portal will be investing budget in promoting best articles. Therefore the better users write, the more chances their articles will be extra promoted. The ABC portal will be happy, if users will be earning money from their customers.

The story works with both articles and videos, i.e. if you record videos and what extra audience, become their user. Also, once an advertizer refers directly to ABC and asks for a content, the administration will be giving such orders to the writers/vloggers.

The ABC portal has few hundreds real people audience (BHs, onlinemoneymakers, traders) in social media and in Telegram and own marketing products that can make the portal and its content be on top or at least visible.

If we avoid discussing own profit sources for ABC portal, do you think such service will be useful for writters (A), advertizers (B) and readers that have lots of options where to read news nowadays (C)?

Thank you in advance.

I always love when people work on cryptocurrency projects that don't involve a token/coin.

I don't think this is a good idea though, anything that has to do with bounties and free writing will be more of a pain than it is worth.

The categories list is not final of course. Everyone sick of tokens, for sure. You think the idea of giving writers such platform is not good? Can you explain why in few words?

Writers have better value positing on their personal Mediums, or submitting to a popular news site with millions of views. Doesn't make much sense to post their original content on a brand new site.

There needs to be a unique idea and a strong marketing strategy to make something like this work.

Okay, so in other words, you need lots of contents and instead of paying them to write, you give them the marketing platform?

Nice idea to bump up for the ads slot for the website I guess. For a bounty hunter who needs views stats, that could be an interesting option. But expect a lot of spammy articles. As for me, I'm not going to use this.

As a principle, it is nice that you do not take any fees, but in other words, you need a lot of staff in order to monitor the quality of the content and ensure that all the information is correct.
Also, you need transparency in that all the money that goes to that portal is invested in promoting projects and not as income for those who initiate them.

Do not forget that it will work like this forum, you need patience, a mechanism to make users attract to your platform in addition to the credibility in the fight against spam and scam.

I can't see much different from medium or bounty0x platform. Although you will invest the earning for promoting purpose, I doubt you will be able to get true readers because your platform will generate nothing but tons of spam.

OP I think, you do not need to pay attention to ICO/IEO/STO projects, it is a told story. One project per 1000 worth something, here you'll just have an extra job to research and remove fraud projects. I guess you don't want to advertise a scam.
Also, what is the default idea? News or blog? If you plan to have a news website using an article from other big newspapers I'm not sure what then will make you unique. If you plan to produce your own news, then you need so good writers and journalist. I hope we will not have just another blog which will do promoting the fake project.

as far as I understand, it is not a brand new platform. It is a news website from 2017. A content writer can be an excellent writer, but it is not necessary that they have good programming knowledge or marketing skills.

Guys, thanks for your comments. Now it's getting more clear. Indeed there're room for improvements to consider.
Most probably lots of staff needed, while the idea was to reduce it. The management wants to get rid of writters and editors while they will need to hire admins. Naaah...

I would add that there are lots of prople who want to write. If they write on their own Medium, it's fine but you are one of thousands. If they choose ABC, they would be inside certain community of writers, they would be earning same money as before (browsing for projects or applying for bounties and trying to agree with their management). Basically nothing changes apart from the fact that the webpage does not fully belong to them. No big deal or it's critical?
