Selling your bitcoins today would be a terrible idea for people who buys bitcoin when it's.price is higher because you will be experiencing huge losses, that is why you should hold your bitcoins for a while and wait for it's price to increase for you not have any regrets and not to have any losses.

it seems that you have no bitcoin on possession thats why it is easy for you to say such word.what about those people that bought their coin when it is around $9k?then they are in total loss of $2k per coins?

I would best time to buy bitcoin is coming right now. Price already has fallen to 6800$ and looks like it will go further down before settling at some price. Those who have bought at higher prices shouldn't sell rather HODL, bitcoin will come back very soon. Don't panic.

there is no need to panic or to spread FUD and it is the worst time to sell. basing on bitcoin's price history every year it is noticeable that the price of bitcoin seems to drop every December/End of the year.
and if the cycle is the same this year the price will rise again in a few weeks or month. my speculation/assumption may not be accurate since I am just basing everything on bitcoin price history.

I don't think anyone who has any understanding of the basics of Bitcoin would not say something like this. Best time to sell Bitcoin is only then when you have some profit from that, or when you have no choice and have to sell no matter what the price is.

I doubt people who buy at $3000 should be too concerned because the price went down several hundred dollars, and what can you say for those who invested in Bitcoin at the time it was worth $100 or $1000? The price will go down until it starts to rise again, there is no great philosophy here - who does not risk, does not profit ;)

In the meantime, when you see such drops of BTC price and growing panic, it may be simply better to buy more with us or our competitors even if it would mean your kids will not get Christmas gifts this year, and instrad the Easter Bunny 3x more expensive ones thanks to the expected pump :)

best time to sell or even buy anything in any market is always when the market is calm and not moving. specially if you are NOT a day trader. otherwise when there is some chaos going on like price falling or price rising fast, the regular investors should not get involved in the market. and day traders should have sold already when the drop began not now. so that only leaves idiots who are selling now...

Same, not now. If you are following news about bitcoin we should be optimistic.bItcoin has a great future ahead, and I think as possible we have to accumulate as possible. Another factor to consider is, bitcoin has a fixed 21M supply, not enough to cover the whole population once it becomes mainstream.

This is exactly the opposite of what we should do. Instead of fueling the bear trend, we can support the price by buying more. And in my opinion, the price is already low enough and buying now will have a good profit in a few months.

Selling bitcoin when conditions like this are you wrong? It's better to hold long compared to selling now. I don't mind it, although the price of bitcoin will fall to $ 6000 too, but I will stay firm until the halving happens.

I guess the topic better suits in Speculation board rather than posting in Bitcoin Discussion. You need to understand that bitcoin is not a shitty trading/get rich quick scheme for you to sell as and when you like. Bitcoin was meant to be used as a perfect alternative to the bullshit censored fiat money (or) what you people call them as original money. The fiat currencies are meant to impose restrictions on us, the public and would always keep us under the control of government. You should probably use bitcoin as a currency apart from using them alone as a trading scheme and you need to understand the basics of bitcoin before making any topics like these.

Speaking from a trader's perspective, most of them wouldn't sell unless they see some good returns from what they have invested. Majority of the world thinks bitcoin in a bad light considering their minimal to absolute zero knowledge in knowing about what bitcoin is about and why it was invented. There are quite a lot of backlash from governments fearing that bitcoin might replace their fiat money and this could be considered as positive rather than labeling them from a negative perspective.

You can surely sell your Bitcoin if you want but don't make people fall from your own despair, and I would really think that you can not get much attention by just saying that it is the best day to sell, Just because of the price drop to more than $7000 USD right now, there is no need to sell but it is really the holders decision to make but a guideline to each and every Holder,

Don't ever sell your Bitcoin at a critical time even though there is a slight change or a major downfall, it is not the end Bitcoin will not end so keep on Hodling and take it easy.

I think the bitcoin in the low side just like in 7000$ is just a bad opportunity to sell your bitcoin if you invested in bitcoin at a price of 10000$ up,
Also, a lot of users sin cryptocurrency don't really hold bitcoin or invest a big amount of money since the bitcoin market price was so volatile in a way so a lot of holders just sell the bitcoin if they already made the profit in it since in 2017 the bitcoin market price reach almost 20000$ in the market and dump in the next years until today.
If you buy it at a higher price and wanted to return the profit you could just hold it until the market price increases again but sometimes the time taken before it go up again was not worth the wait because you could just use the money to invest and make a profit in that time already.

I won't. as I sold off %60 of my holdings in Jun when I decided the stress of watching the price wasn’t worth it and it was about time for me to take some profits. the %40 I have left invested is what I’m comfortable with, after taking that profit, so that’s true “HODL” money, and putting much more back in would make me over invested again. thereby with the current prices, and having done some work to my house with the %60 I withdrew, I’m about ready to start buying in again slowly.

If you want to sell BTC at this time, it's really too late. You had the opportunity to sell BTC at a much better price last month, it was at $ 10,000. If you just tell that bitcoin will decrease in price even you give an exactly price it will be useless. You don't have any proof/reason that bitcon will down more then $7000 (which it is true right now)

I found some prediction currently, even I found it so much. There are some people who make a prediction that bitcoin will fall drastically. But, I don't believe them since their analyst just uses technical side only.

I think everyone knows that selling your Bitcoin during this time would be a catastrophic idea. It only worsen the price even more if everyone dump most of their holding. I think OP needs to rethink or rephrase his title to "do not sell your Bitcoin today" because you will face the consequences of regrets.

Now it's not time for selling but for buying. Remember the two most important things for trading, buy low and sell high. If you don't stick to that your calculations might be very bad.
Selling now it's bad idea unless you didn't buy at.much lower price that we are having now and that would mean you are holding your coins quite a lot of time and if that was the case you wouldn't be thinking about selling now.

Everyday there is at least a $100-$200 low in the market price of bitcoin. This means it is the right time for selling and buy back at a lower price. Here if there is sudden growth same as that took to the price reach $14000+ it'll cause a big loss. Better is to quick buy and quick sell between the market rise and fall(small difference between buying and selling) which ease the risk of losing.

everyone has a different timeframe in managing their funds to invest. Although the price of BTC tends to fall, there must be some investors who have bought BTC far below this price before, so they are still calm. So the OP cannot fully enforce the suggestion. The importance of doing the analysis and strategy here. We must be able to determine safe limits from the ability to maintain capital. In this extreme price movement, it takes a strong mentality and patience. I tend to be impatient and too afraid of prices moving beyond predictions so since a few months ago I chose to wait and see.

We have seen this happen a lot. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see the price jump back in next few days. I wouldn't suggest others not to sell their bitcoin due to this temporary random drop.

It is not recommended to sell when a decline occurs, because I personally would be better to keep holding it. Well, maybe you have another purpose that does have a certain need that requires fast money and chooses to sell it even though the price is being lowered, but on the other hand you can still use the money for something urgent, and that doesn't matter. But, when you only sell it for fear that the price will not be able to recover, then fully it is a panic that occurs, keep calm because after all the price will definitely recover and changes will occur.

This is the bad idea of selling and you're right it was really late to sell and if you wanted to do that, I am sure you'll regret doing that afterwards. What is good to do now, ypu should buy and accumulate your bitcoin holdings quantity. On that strategy you'll able to have the huge possible profit when it's value increase when good market comes in. For now we should be more understanding while, btc price was still struggling to recover at a desirable market price.

Basically you had months to sell at a price almost double of today and why hold and sell now? When BTC was having these +20% days back in June 2019 it should of been your signal to sell some, not your entire position but maybe 20% or so. You can't sell the top but you can average your sells just like your buys.

I didn't sell the top either. I think I sold some at $4K, then $5.5K, then $6.5K, then $8.5K, then $10K, then $12.5K and didn't sell anything higher than $12.5K because I regretted my earlier sells between $4K-$10K and was assuming we would go to $20K but we never did.

So sometimes selling too early can be a good thing, but if we hit $25K then obviously not. Either way. Its too early to tell whether we hit the bottom or not, so hold for now.

It seems you are new in this crypto industry. I have been in this industry not for a long time but I am not a newbie either, anyway, I have seen a lot of the same cases before. Bitcoin encounters a lot of dips and yet it manages to come back and sometimes become even more. It is a really bad idea to sell your Bitcoin now, in fact, you should buy now because the halving in getting closer we don't know what will happen so it is better to be prepared.

Maybe not some but most people who knew about the fluctuating nature of bitcoin already bought the bagholds and then wait for another rise. To those
scalpers this is a good opportunities to buy, whenever the market is on panic diving and trying to position yourself to the bottom gave a lots of profits in

I agree, sell now or later it depends on the situation, if you get a low price it is better to hold it rather than panic selling. or you don't have a lot of capital so sell now and buy again at a lower price, it makes sense. ya it might fall below 6000. but look at 2020 many big events await.

the whole cryptocurrency market is can not be predictable accurately , that is the concept. that time when the price hit $10000 this guy i believe 99% bullish , he thinks it will continue to go up, so do with everybody else. but hey everything runs unexpectedly , bitcoin let them down while still thinking it will bounce back soon -as we can see there is several correction from $10000 to $8000 , $8000 to $9500- before it goes down to at $7000 where actually they never think this gonna happen.

Today is the best time to buy not to sell. If you sell your bitcoin today you will suffer the consequences of losses in the future. Just look at the price of the market if you think you will gain some profit if you sell today then do it. But if you think you can't gain profit then don't do it but instead hodl it.

To know when to buy and sell you have to consider a number of things but for me the important ones are how far are we from the top, the fundamentals and the amount of fear (consecutive red days).
If we count that around 100 was the bottom of the last bubble we're more than 70% down from the top which is a buying opportunity. Fundamentals looking strong with hashpower rising, number of wallets rising, no critical bugs being found. In November we had moments when there were 5 consecutive red days in a row. This usually suggests a buying opportunity. I'm currently adding about $500 in BTC to my portfolio every month.

This could be basically the worst ever time to sell bitcoin in the past 6 months. If anyone thinks selling at the bottom is a clever idea has never really been a trader truly. Bitcoin does have these very low times but if you wait 2 weeks you will see that in new years there will be a bitcoin that is higher, I am sure of that.

Looks like you are a beginner who in my opinion your experience in bitcoin is not too far away and the decline in bitcoin is normal and your advice will not affect those who have been here long and the decline in bitcoin will be their chance to make purchases because the price is cheap.

Lows reacted pretty strongly with buying but also it was a lower low which means to me at least it will likely need to check that area before moving on in either direction.    8 day average price happens to match the larger daily type trend of descending prices for the last few months.    With such a rise many might expect it to get past this possible area of doubt but it could do either I still think.   I would still guess some disappointment either now or mon or tues possibly.

the november and december lows were within $100 (1.5%) of each other. that's close enough to call it a double bottom. we don't necessarily need to retest it again. the 4-hour chart shows a confirmed bullish engulfing on pretty strong volume. if the day can close above $6900 then it'll also be a bullish engulfing on the daily chart.

just an observation though. i'm not getting my hopes up too much. the bulls have been rejected on every attempt for the last 6 months; no reason to assume otherwise yet. :-\

yes, some people still believe that the price of Bitcoin will be up and this is time to buy. moreover, if you have a passion as a day trader and take profits for the short term then yesterday was the right moment when the price of Bitcoin fell to 6600-6700 and now you can sell it by getting a profit of more than 5% I guess. actually the risk can be reduced as long as we are careful and not greedy.

I like that, will trade some of my portion if its goes above $8k. However, the chances are rather high that it might go further to the upper band of the channel.

As long you earn income from selling bitcoin maybe its the best time to sell. But, in the current condition of the market, it is advisable to sell your bitcoin and the good decision you can make right now is to hold or to buy more bitcoin. Even bitcoin will fall down some investors are have a strong hand where they will still hold it than selling it because I know they will regret in the future if they going to sell their bitcoin right now. yeah of course the statement is panic and push people to sell their coins. i think no need to be panic in this case because bitcoin pump and dump is normally, don't to be panic because it makes you fail to get more profit
bitcoin will increase high price again, bitcoin dump is because people sell their bitcoin for christmast or another event so do not sell your bitcoin to make stable price of bitcoin

Buddy I don't think this is the best time to sell Bitcoin as you advise for I see this period as a time for people to buy and not the other way around. Some of us that sell at the time is just because we don't have option on how to take care of the pressing needs.

In a market panic you always feel that pressure to sell and it gets stronger and stronger as you watch red candles pile up. When you sell it gives you a temporary relief like it's finally over and you can rest. And then it jumps back up and you keep lying to yourself that you did good because it's a dead cat bounce and it's going back down but it keeps going higher and higher and you know you've fucked up :D

Sell at $7200 (new resistance) or $7800 (support turned resistance)?
I don't feel so good to sell bitcoin at the current price as I have bought at a higher rate, maybe could make more bitcoin if it will going to take another big dip below $6500 but nothing for sure. However, if the price manages to pass $7800, what the chance it will stay above it or fall instead? Probably worth the risk for traders :D

It doesn't work like that. You know there are a lot of people thinks that this price is too little for what bitcoin value should be.
So, I guess they won't just sell it just because you said so.
Maybe create some good reason and posts it here or edit your first post then maybe they will think twice about selling their bitcoin.

Trading, investment I think is very suitable for now in the short term, I mean weekly and daily trading.
Example:
You buy Bitcoin at $ 7000 and you sell at $ 7200, wait for the price to go down and buy it again, this has been repeated several times this week, if you do the same thing you are already compensating for a decent profit on a daily or weekly basis.

in terms of selling, I think depends on our goals in the beginning. if for the long term why should sell now, under 10k bitcoin prices still low imo. because I'm sure next year when many big events the price of bitcoin will go above 10k. although your prediction is correct and it had dropped to 6500 but now the price of bitcoin is rising again above 7100, so don't panic, if it goes down why not buy again?

If encouraging people to sell their BTC, who then capitulate, the this speeds up the process - so personally I don't see a problem with it. People who are here for "get rich quick schemes" don't deserve any Bitcoin anyway, or it's financial gains.

If they have a reason then letting them sell their Bitcoin is not really a bad thing. But if they are just worried about the price to dump more and lose their money, its gonna be optional and I'd find it not really a good decision to have. Maybe you want every one sell their bitcoin faced Christmas day where bitcoin and altcoin always have lower price, I think is the best ideas to sell bitcoin now before Christmas come and buy back after Christmas day. When new year bitcoin back again with higher price because Christmas always give effect for bitcoin become down.

I have bitcoins and I do not have plan to sell it because the market is still downtrend. How can we identify if the market is downtrend? It is simply by using a 200 moving average. If the price is below the MA then it is downtrend but if the price is above the MA it is uptrend. Selling bitcoin in downtrend is not a good idea. It is better to wait another for us to make investment.

this statement only make people to be panic. in my opinion this strategy to make people panic and sell their coins then the price of bitcoin down so someone who make that issue can buy bitcoin in cheap price and really he is Successful with his strategy.

From time to time we see people that lose confidence in bitcoin and tell everyone that they should sell their coins, and sometimes I question myself if this is just that or sometimes whales in their desire to make profits sometimes create campaigns to try to create panic among bitcoin holders and they sell their coins to them, I know that this sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory but since whales are willing to do almost everything to get your money that will not surprise me.

It's still good to sell Bitcoin but it will depend on how much are going to sell it out on market, you just need to make sure that you didn't sell at low and buy at high because that would be a waste.

I don't know how you predicted like that. What thing pushed you to believe that the Bitcoin price will go down? That's why experience is needed in crypto! I think that time was best for buying, not for selling. Only a non-believer can sell bitcoin at that low price! I want to see bitcoin at the lower price again before the halving so I can have it more, because I believe whenever bitcoin price become low its good for buyers! This thread is a good example that we have to study and think about our movements, and not only read something in the forum and believe that is true and make a quick sell or panic sell

That is as it should be but very few people can do something like that because they do not take the time to study the markets, they are lazy, they want everything to fall on their lap and they do not want to make the effort to make the money they want in the markets and so they rely on someone else to tell them what to do and as we know they are going to completely panic when things don't go according to their plan and they lose a lot of money because of it.
