Its bad enough players have to play through 40 times, but then limiting them on a max .005btc wd is just terrible.

High likely they are using tracking link, perhaps the one posted in the OP is a tracking link so anyone visit and register through the link will be considered as players from bitcointalk.
This KYC thing will always be a complicated thing, even a pure crypto casino reserves the right to ask for KYC if there is something suspicious with the account. It is usually mentioned on the ToS page of any casinos.
