Title: Project support offering
Post by: batesresearch on December 19, 2019, 12:40:54 PM
Just a quick one, we have the two below domains and are offering support for anyone who wishes to develop/host any projects on them. We have received offers to buy the domains but would much rather help support any worthy projects.

If you interested PM me.

Domain: bitcoingiveaways.org

Domain: btcexplorer.co.uk

But this way you will have access to the project code that looks like a nice way to steal an idea. And what you are offering people already can get it for free:

Free web host: 000webhost.com
Free domains: noip.com

Ah ha - Yes I can steal their code - I didn't think of that!..........anyway I am offering more than website hosting services (Financial support, access to a range of developers, project advertising etc)

Eitherway thanks for the input  ;D

I checked the 2 domain names and confirm that you did not hang it on any webhosting account, this means that you are offering the domain name only, what is the terms of the contract and why didn't you park it for monetization ?

You should also research on any project to be hosted on the domain names in order to prevent google blacklist.

Hmmm, domain name looks or sounds suspicious to me. There are a lot of fake giveaways plowing in the crypto sphere so I'm not sure if your domain name will not be affected by those cyber criminals taking advantage of this so called giveaways and scam crypto individuals out of their hard earn money, just saying. You can check it out:   Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0), and see what I'm talking about fake giveaways scam.

No we haven’t ‘hung’ them on any hosting yet. However we do own CryptoCloudHosting so can ‘hang’ them anytime when ready. Never really parked domains.

It on depends on the level of support, We are happy for people just to show our group logo and that we are supporting them - in a more complex case where we’d financially support we’d discuss in much more detail.

^ Indeed. Quite used to it with CryptoCloudHosting!

I understand what you mean by the giveaways one sounding suspicious. We own CryptoGiveaways.org and thus bought the bitcoin version to go along with it, but since we removed bitcoin from the giveaway site (As we were spammed a lot!) - it best to see if someone wanted to work with it than just leave it.

As someone said earlier and a good point if you knew us that we would monitor the project anyway, we’ve done a lot of work in that area over the years but really only people that know us personally know that.

But this way you will have access to the project code that looks like a nice way to steal an idea. And what you are offering people already can get it for free:

Free web host: 000webhost.com
Free domains: noip.com

If they're simply leasing the domain to whoever wishes to use it, this won't allow OP to steal any code that is developed for it. After all, hosting and domain management are two separate things.

Anybody wishing to keep their code safe would just need to provide OP the nameservers to point the domain to, and they'll retain full control of the hosting.

What have had a lot of interest in btcexplorer.co.uk which is good to see.

We've had a few more messages regarding peoples worries about the bitcoingiveaways.org domain so we'll work out whats best to do with this domain.

Can you explain more, what you exactly trying to find here?
You have domains and you want someone who will develop service on this domain, or you want to give these domains someone who will build his own service on them?
On the first view, it looks generous, but is it?
For example, someone will develop a project in that domain, invest in marketing, and you still can change DNS servers and point them on your server. All previous investment action is still targeted to your domain.

Hey,

Thanks for your opinion, appreciated.

To cut it short I am lucky to have a positive reputation in the realms of the 'real world' of crypto away from the WWW - too much to lose for a bit of extra cash from the web traffic. If you are based in London (As per the Twitter) - I organise CoinFestUK - Based in Manchester, UK - Happy to connect to discuss exactly what I am looking for in person - Already got good interest (Especially with btcexplorer.co.uk) I guess each discussion with a potential person to take on the project will be very specific but hopefully get there in the end.
