Title: Bitcoin circulation supply
Post by: AntoineCjp on December 24, 2019, 02:44:00 AM
Beside Blockchain dot com and blockchair dot com are there any sites that provide the Bitcoin circulation supply since the beginning.
The data on blockchair seems correct but I cannot retrieve the correct data in file.
Blockchain dot com does not have the data for every day.

Any suggestion?

I found this one https://knoema.com/rilqhnd/bitcoin-currency-statistics-2009-2019?measure=Bitcoins%20in%20circulation.

Not sure if that's accurate, you can sign up to view the source (at least that's what they said).

This is what they provide in their source.
"Source: Blockchain, Bitcoin Currency Statistics, Daily Update"

Their data is from blockchain dot com. Not worth signing up for anyone who is lurking.
They do provide some benefit with charting tools.

Thank you for searching  :)

I think this is what you are looking for but I dont know if this gives accurate information. Number of Bitcoins in circulation 2012-2019 (https://www.statista.com/statistics/247280/number-of-bitcoins-in-circulation/).
As far as I see there is a registration fee if you clicked the source below of the chart.

Ain't promoting this site, just make further research. At least I gave you already what you are looking for.

Any idea why you would need this data exactly? Basically its just going to be a diagonal line with a slight change during the 2 halvings we had in the past. You can actually just plot the block times and for every block you can just add 50 BTC until the latter 2 halvings and it should get you what you need.

If you look at this chart,
https://www.blockchain.com/en/charts/total-bitcoins

You can see that its basically going up diagonally pretty much but with the halvings the curve bends a little since the supply is slower. In 2009-2010 the curve is slightly different because there was a period were the mining was on and off and the difficulty was at 1 for a very long time. When BTC had some value then people started to mine it and it became more constant.

I want to do some research that needs to deal with the supply of bitcoin. :/
I suppose I could do that but the block time might vary thus the supply of bitcoin is not constant even in the same block reward period.

I think you could use the circulation data here about the Bitcoins but it is real time and I think you would create a data file by your own and update it weekly.

There are lots of websites you will find the Bitcoin circulation. It would be best if you researched several websites by yourself. I think you will find the updated and accurate data.
