Title: How much bitcoin to buy?
Post by: Robdwny on December 24, 2019, 09:42:16 PM
I recently purchased bitcoin, it was the most I have ever put into a cryptocurrency.
This is going to be a long term buy, This was taken out of stock money,
Now that I have done this I feel more excited about
where bitcoin is headed than  I do about stocks. Now I feel like I should take more out of
Stocks, Feel there’s going to be more return this way. Thoughts on this am I getting carried away

You are doing the right thing of buying bitcoin but you should analyze yourself if it's also a fine decision that you have taken it from your another investment. If it's with a dying altcoin I can say that you're doing a great job but while you're getting carried away and feels the excitement, you have to study and research more about bitcoin and be aware that this is more volatile than the traditional stocks that we used to know as one of the known investments in the world.

I do have a financial plan. I’m actually using the money from Stocks that I was taking risk with.
So this is why I was good with cryptocurrency. I know the risk of it.  I just wonder what would
Be enough in one coin.
Maybe I should spread it around and put it in other coins.

Definitely a good idea to pull some money out of other investments to spread into bitcoin... especially if you had taken them out of other altcoins. It may be exciting now... especially seeing that the price has been on a slow, but steady decline, that maybe we'll see a slight explosion or atleast some sort of new peak in value. But its the same idea with any other investment, if you put moree money in, you have to be comfortable with losing that investment. If I were you, I wouldn't get too excited or impulsive about throwing more capital into your investment, but to each their own.

Nevertheless... its always good to put your eggs in different baskets, and in the case where bitcoin or any other investments you may have shoot up in price, you are a wealthy or wealthier man :) Yet if the opposite happens, you will still have capital in other places. Keep doing research and best of luck to ya!

There is no specific amount that is  "enough"... it is whatever you are comfortable with in terms of the rate of it's growth and how much you can potentially lose.

Don’t bother with altcoins, they’re mostly all utter shitcoins & follow the price trajectory of bitcoin any way.

What you need to do is be willing to invest regularly in bitcoin & be able to be patient, leaving your money in bitcoin for a couple of years at least. It’s an almost fool-proof method.

Put x amount of your monthly income into bitcoin & you’ll make great profits providing you’re patient.

You should be very careful, never have only one investment, even if bitcoin is an excellent investment we should have several investments. I am not saying that you should buy altcoins, I am saying that you must have real world investment and invest in bitcoin.

Another advice I can give you is buy by parts. Exe: Today the price has dropped to $ 7300, so you go for one part and expect the price to fall further to buy another part.

I do have a financial plan in place. I can use 5% of funds to buy stocks or cryptocurrency
Or whatever. Right now I’m good with bitcoin. This can be a 5- 10 year move I don’t need the money
For anything now.
Here are the other coins I can buy
Ethereum
Bitcoin cash
Litecoin
EOS
Ripple

I don't think it's within our decision to tell you the amount of principal capital that you need to start with when it  comes to investing into bitcoin. The rule of thumb in any investment plan is to invest with an amount of money that you can afford to lose. So basically i would say an amount between $500-$1000 is cool to start with.

it is an investment that I think is profitable, but you must remember, patience is the key to someone's success, you don't need to rush to sell it anymore, wait for the right moment and the price is high. !

I don't know how much you bought and how much you have in stocks. This makes the question extremely difficult to answer because to some people 1000 USD is a lot of money and to others it's just a daily spender. You could have a million in stocks and use 1% to buy BTC, in such case I'd tell you to get more.
Also, make sure you understand risk and are prepared volatility. This market is pretty unique.

A good decision I think because you have bought bitcoin and for now the price has not shot up. Later after halving maybe there will be a change, we just hope that after that bitcoin will pump. You have to be patient for that, maybe it's still long or bitcoin will pump soon. It is only a matter of time. I hope that you have done your research before entering the world of crypto and investing in crypto.

If you feel that way you can start to take more stocks, but, a little advice(I know you know it too), don't take all your eggs in one basket. The way you have your investment in stocks right now, the same as having an investment in cryptocurrency, is a wise decision of you. Think deeper about what situation you might put in if you take more out of stocks, please don't get carried away.

You are in a correct way, stocks are very long term to earn a decent money unlike in crypto currencies that you can easily profit especially if the bull run is coming. Right now we are nearly at the bottom of the market so it is the right time to stock your bitcoin or any currencies that you like so the return of your investment will become huge once we hit the peak of the market.

You can just start slowly buy buying small amount of bitcoin but do it very often so you can stock a good amount of bitcoin before the bull run comes.

Yeah don't be carried away especially when you have no solid data behind this. Just feeling? Not good. What percentage of your portfolio is currently in crypto? You should adjust it based on your risk appetite.

I hope you realize that this is an even bigger risk than Bitcoin. Why would you want to go with ETH or LTC? Why do you want more crypto in your portfolio?

An investment in cryptocurrency you must better to buy a lot of coins now like for bitcoin because the price of the currency is slowly growing up and becomes profitable. After the bitcoin falls, there are a lot of investment came from the people because they know the possibility of the price rise again. It is better if you have a lot of extra money better to start the investment now because the price of the bitcoin is still in seven thousand dollars and it is suitable for buying today. And don't be tired of waiting for the coin because you are trying to invest in bitcoin it is for a long term trading it takes a long time before you get your earnings. Next, make sure you must be aware what is happening in the market because to monitor if you are gaining profit or not, else better to take out your money if you are not sure about your investment.

I'd not suggest you to take money out from stock investments but to increase your investment on crypto through savings.
I try to balance a 1:1 ratio in investments between stocks and crypto. Though crypto possibly has a very large chances of profit, they could still be unpredictable.
Stocks too are a good investment and could even be safer than crypto as the companies involved are regulated and audited.

If all of those are still alive, let alone relevant, in 5-10 years I'll take that as a damning indictment of crypto's stuntedness.

Play with alts by all means. Don't expect to do well, don't be sad if you lose what you put in and whatever you do don't get married to them.

Definitely you are getting carried away but I think it is good.  Just make sure you have that patience and strong hand to hodl until your target price is achieved.  Many people who are too enthusiastic towards BTC ends up being disappointed when the BTC price crashed.  You should be well aware that Bitcoin price goes up and down insanely in fast pace.

Don't over do it man. Just invest what you can afford to lose. If you can support yourself while not relying on the income of Bitcoin, then sure, you should invest more as long as it is by your means.

My personal plan was to invest in cryptocurrency every month and snowball it while holding long term and not bothering about it till I get to my desired profit. That way, I can avoid those FUD or FOMO happening in the space.

You have made up a good decision about buying Bitcoin, Definitely, It's the right time to buy Bitcoin because of the low price, I think Bitcoin will come back very strongly within a short time, Hopefully, It will get stronger than the previous scenario, hopefully, you will get a good return when the price of Bitcoin will get high, Many people are trying to break the ice and rejoining in this system because of having a good opportunity in the coming January, they have speculated that Bitcoin will rise in the coming year, So they have made a good move, Hope you are also in.

One of the profitable investment today is the cryptocurrency before there are only a few people are trying to invest to the bitcoin because they know that there is a potential on using this coin, afterwards on the year of 2017 the bitcoin price grows up and becomes profitable. It can happen again, but the cost of the bitcoin today is not like the previous years because before the year 2019 the price of the bitcoin falls from nine thousand into seven thousand dollars. But don't worry about it because for now the price of the coins are slowly rising and this is a good sign for a good investment. Again if you have enough knowledge and capability to use cryptocurrency for investment and trading better to start it now and don't hesitate to invest because in the future the price grows up again.

Very good if you already buy bitcoin, now just hold the bitcoin that you have until the price goes up. But if I may give advice, don't
only expect from just one coin in the cryptocurrency investment. It's better to invest in some altcoins that do have good potential.
Because investing in lots of coins can generate maximum profits. My advice for the capital that you have 50% invest in bitcoin and
50% more at 2-3 altcoins. I recommend investing in ethereum, litecoin and binance coins. By investing in bitcoin and altcoins you
have opened the opportunity to be able enjoy profits in the cryptocurrency world, just need to be patient waiting until the price rises
to reach the target that we have set.

What you are doing is right to diversify into bitcoin and stocks. But you must be able to determine how much you must divide each.
It is true that bitcoin has very sharp fluctuations that make it possible to get a greater profit presentation than stocks or other commodities.

You must at least plan first before investing in bitcoin. Do not invest all of your physical money because you will need it for your daily needs. Invest your money in bitcoin only if that is your extra money because investing is a long term process. Meaning, it really needs some patience before your money grow.

You should do split your investments in many than 1 currency which in this way being Bitcoin and Stocks markets.

Still you need to understand bitcoin has a big price variation possibility and by now it's not fluctuating so much so you will probabily have to wait for another big news or the halving day.

You could also take opportunity on several other coins instead but it's your choise and it has been wise on chosing something that you feel trusted into.

how much money do you have? if you have enough money at least I recommend buying a few percent of your savings, for example 20% of your savings are also still quite safe, don't use your savings to buy all the other bitcoins or cryptos, analyze and rethink any risk to be part of we are here, lol  ;D

Investing in this market and Bitcoin is a good investment choice, but this investment option is also very dangerous because this market is not controlled and it may collapse anytime in the future. . So if you have invested, I recommend not investing all the money you have. Invest just enough for you and if the market collapses, you can start over with different capital

good decision, but as much as possible you buy gradually because we know the fluctuation of bitcoin is quite high. when prices go lower buy quite a lot.
for now, don't choose altcoin the risk of losing is quite high. better focus on bitcoin, because we know what will happen to bitcoin in 2020-2021, it's very hype and I hope to get the same thing as 2017. at least having 1 bitcoin is enough to have a lot of money.

"invest the money that you can afford to lose". That is the best amount on how much you should put in all types of investments. There are risks in all types of investment so we should always be prepared. It cannot affect our mentality and personality if we lose the money that we can afford to lose. There are a lot of investors who regretted their decision when they invest all of the money that they have. They got mental disorder because the money that they invested is not the money that they can afford to lose.

You did a good decision. You see, bitcoin's price is currently at $7k and this is a good time to buy bitcoin. And by long term hold, I suggest you set how much profit you want to achieve before selling. Regrets exists when a huge pump occur and you did not sell after the pump so setting a target profit will be a great help.

Bitcoin as investment will give you different emotions and with good management it will turn out well.

I think you're indeed getting carried away a little bit. I think balanced diversification of funds would be your best way to go, and don't prioritize Bitcoin alone since the market is too risky, price change happen extremely quick especially those huge pumps and dumps in the market. Having some still on stocks would not only lessen the risks, but makes sure you have enough backup funds once needed.

Right now it is the time to give importance to analyze which is the best altcoin at the moment and invest than going with bitcoin. Compared to the bitcoin what we see with the altcoins were really low valued. For the profiting purpose we need to have patience when altcoins were found higher than the percentage of bitcoin in our portfolio.

Buy three bitcoin you can get profit every day about 1% to 3%, I think if you have much money you can buy 3 bitcoin and trade in daily day without have hold for long term to get much profit, every day always have change of bitcoin price where one day can up more than 5% and you can buy back after bitcoin back with lower price, keep exist for trading with short term if you have much money.

if you invest better you are not too provoked by the conditions, when you invest then you must know satisfaction when investing. maybe if you follow the wishes it will be more difficult, so it helps you focus on the funds that have been invested first and when you get a profit then you can invest again. the goal is that you can control the current investment, and think about the bad things that will happen so you can be more careful

That's for sure especially now that we are seeing the adoptions is continuous so Bitcoin is really something that we are aiming to have right now. Bitcoin is just like a gold that you are aiming to have as much as you could as you  know that the price of it, although not certain is possibly will rise as the more users are adopting it.

Well, I think there's nothing wrong with that as a matter of fact it is the right thing to do, however, much better if you will use the amount of money you can afford to lose remember, the market is full of surprises. Anyway, buying Bitcoin now and hold it for a long time could be the best option you choose due to the fact that Bitcoin will rise again and will become greater as it before way back in 2017.

You can buy bitcoin as much as you can, but you should know how much money you want to use for investing in bitcoin. You don't need to use all of your money to invest in bitcoin, especially if you cannot get a low price because bitcoin can be at a low price anytime. You can analyze more to find that low price so you can buy bitcoin directly. Don't forget to stay calm if you see bitcoin price is down, and you can buy more bitcoin if that is happening. You should hold tight your bitcoin if you want to use bitcoin as a long term investment because you will see the fluctuating of the bitcoin price.

Anyway, buying Bitcoin now and hold it for a long time could be the best option you choose due to the fact that Bitcoin will rise again and will become greater as it before way back in 2017.
That is exactly what he needs to do, he should think of how much money he can afford to risk in this investment. OP should set aside getting excited since he might make a rush decision and invest right away.
It is a good decision, even there is no guarantee of profit, his chance to make a profit is high and his possible profit is much higher than stocks.

How much you want to buy,  when you to buy, it all depends on you, because the cryptocurrency is unpredictable. For investing in Cryptocurrencies  there is no guarantee how much you get in return . Do not ask any suggestion here. Think and research on your own and decide whether to invest or not.  but holding bitcoin for long term you get 100% profit.

I think if you are good in stock, you can do both in investment. Both investment with big capital will be better than bigger in 1 and smaller in 1 since bitcoin investment and stock trading is little different investment. If me i will split it balanced especially if i good at stock. But i am not good at anything so currenctly i am only do bitcoin investment.

The allocation of your funds is something that you need to plan carefully. You cannot invest all of your money after all. Studying financial literacy can help us to solve that problem. If you are financial literate then you can invest the right money at the right price. Just invest something that you are prepared to lose. There are risks after all so it is really better to study and make a plan properly about the allocation of your capital.

Investing in cryptocurrency was surely a risk, we cannot be sure of a profit since it was a digital cash,
The higher the amount of invested surely the higher the profit you are going to get and vice versa. For a long term investment in my opinion this is still one of the best investment but it will take a long time to get a profit. I think in investing bitcoin we already know that it is a big risk to put your money and invest it in bitcoin since it is a digital cash you should just invest the money that you could afford to lose. Investing in bitcoin was just like a gamble to your money but still when the right analysis and research a lot of time you could easily make profit in this investment unlike gambling which is completely have a fair method of winning.

In investing you should not let your emotions get you a lot of people already make a big mistakes in this kind of investment since a lot of people a just getting hype in the market when the price of bitcoin is pumping and that's the time that they keep on investing in bitcoin and when the market is dumping a lot of investors are losing its hope in bitcoin.

You are doing just fine, since you have been investing in stock I assume that you are aware how the market works. The only difference is the crypro market is more volatile than stock market. Just be patient, if you can hold for a long-term purpose, you can surely make the most out of your investment.

Why do you think Bitcoin is cheap now? If compared with 2018, the price of bitcoin is now more than 2 times more expensive, so in fact in the coming months, the price of bitcoin may drop at any time.
I do not recommend investing in bitcoin at this stage because the market situation is not clear, it is best to be patient and wait for Christmas to end. The end of January or February 2020 is a good time for us to think about buying bitcoin and holding

Having a portfolio of Altcoins is recommended but never go above 70-30 ratio.. Keep 70% of your money in Bitcoin and the time and do your own research before investing into any alt.

I think the OP's decision is good because he realizes that investing in cryptocurrency or bitcoin always provides a good and profitable return, and it seems like he has learned it and chose to invest in the long term to avoid worries because bitcoin is very volatile.

I actually think it’s a very good time to buy. We are just a few months away from the next halving. I think there will be a significant price increase leading up to the halving and the increase will probably continue for a long time after that.

Remember that the current price is one-third of the all time high so there is plenty of room for a move up.

One thing that i notice on OP is that he's like expecting too much and is too excited about of where his investment would be going. This could lead to an over excitement that may lead to a stressful time to keep looking at the price of the market. I hope OP doesn't expect too much in this market because the bull market is not happening yet.

I think it is a good investment since you said that it is for a long term invesment,
However you should also consider the risk and don't get too carried away Bitcoin price fluctuates unpredictedly.
You could always make some profit or lose your money on it so you should think about it carefully.

Thanks Everyone this has been very helpful, I just wanted to think through it. the next small buy I might by ETHEREUM or litecoin slowly start buying more.

A very unwise decision. Bitcoin is solid and can be hold long term, the others? Not so much. If you are a high risk short term experienced trader, you might get some profit from these highly risk altcoins, but as in most tradings, 90% lose.

I agree with balancing stocks with Bitcoin investments, that is fine. You can add traditional assets like metals/minerals, or even some forex if you feel riskier, its your portfolio after all... But with altcoins? Expect loses and loses and loses for years to no end. Only rarely they might spike (or you could have luckily bought a dip before a spike).

Buying a bitcoin  is one thing and holding it as a long term investment asset is another thing. You should understand that knowledge and understanding are the key elements in investing in bitcoin.  I will advise that you should try and gain knowledge and understanding about the entire bitcoin market and its ecosystem. With this, you will understand the true value and purpose of bitcoin..

Since you plan to hold for a long time I don't have much to discuss. I agree that it is a good decision. Money in the bank is usually bad money as they will devalue to 50% in a few years. Now about stocks I'd have to tell you that Buffet has hundreds of billions in cash, waiting for a crash in order to buy. That's what he is doing and thats how money works. Buy the blood in the streets. 10 years bull run seriously? What I see happening right now is panic buying and a huge bubble. There are even youtubers that bet huge amounts on Robinhood and trade live having thousands of people watching. This is a definite bubble. I got out of stocks one year ago before the small pullback and my stocks recovered and are at double top lately. I won't waste a dollar for these overvalued stocks.

You did right though, buying bitcoin is one of the best decisions that you took I guess, I mean this timing is the best in my opinion because it's gonna increase in the future. Furthermore, buying bitcoin is more profitable in the long run unlike the other coins, because most of altcoins are so bad and you'll be rarely getting a profit from em.

in buying bitcoin is indeed a pretty good choice, because bitcoin is good enough for long-term investment. if he has a few funds it would be good to make bitcoin as an investment savings but it must remain based on research foundation. without research and also the objectives, the investment will certainly be adrift following the market situation

the only challenge we have to face when holding Bitcoins are emotion and greediness cuz sometimes there is a time later that you have to decide to sell or to keep it. As example in 2017  and early 2018 where the price was really high that time and people seem to not sell it for some reasons that lead to big regret for most of the people so please sell when you can cuz you don't want that happen again on u.

It's not a good time to buy bitcoin, don't let yourself be disappointed in bitcoin.
Wait a minute for the price to fall and all you have to bet is ready to lose, Caution!
And wait a long time, because it is like interest in a bank, it grows over time and not your work and effort.
And you will earn a profit if you are mentally strong.

Litecoin
EOS
Ripple

Good option if you will hold bitcoin for that long because you don't have to worry and spend that money you'll use to invest and as for altcoins, you just made a list of alts which can easily determine what coins you should buy. I'll eliminate the most and shall remain these altcoins that I think are good for me.
ETH
Litecoin

As long as he only chooses the top coins then at least it is the right choice for a long-term holding plan, he can spend his money without thinking or considering a quick return and that is already a good first step and all that needs to be done next is to remain consistent and if need to buy more and add a bigger portfolio, maybe it will be good in the future too.

There are top coins that I don't have on my list and neither want to invest because I simply don't like them. This should be the other investors mindset that if they are about to choose, the money that they'll allocate to that investment is good for nothing within a long time and doesn't have the obligations to be spent. It's all up to OP's choice, we've given significant suggestions and he's even more knowledgeable than the other investors that are asking what kind of coin that they should buy with lesser risk.

Look at the price of Bitcoin in January 2019, it is worth $3.8k and  the price of Bitcoin now which is around $7.2k, so if you bought last January and you sell it today then you gain almost 90% which is very good thing despite the market condition, so always choose any ways for you to earn, it is just based on perfect timing and analysis.

But the thing is you do not know if it is the bottom of the price. There are people who lose money because they bought at the bottom where the price is really not at the bottom and it continue to go down. Identifying the bottom is really hard because you are never sure if there will be another dip or not. Counter trend strategy is really risky decision but the thing is you can successfully do it with prior knowledge and also good technical analysis skills.

yes i think it was the right decision to take some stock to buy bitcoin. in my opinion investing bitcoin is more profitable than stocks. bitcoin price fluctuations can provide huge profits if we buy and sell bitcoin at the right time. and with bitcoin investments we can control our investment assets in full. in contrast to shares we cannot control our assets fully, shares are very dependent on the decisions and policies of the company that issued the shares.

your confidence in making a decision then, that's what you will produce. traders and investors expect the same thing about the price of Bitcoin. but still have to remember about risk management. where losses are things that could have happened and it's an absolute risk in the world of cryptocurrency.

Holding bitcoin is not a certain thing. You should take a risk before you gain profits out of it. It's good to buy bitcoin in this season where bitcoin is in a downward price, but we're not sure when will it's price will grow again.

Just manipulate your emotion because failure may come and always check the market to know when to sell what you store

Basically with all the future promises and speculation, there's really an extent that we might be influenced to buy and accumulate large volume of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But this is in fact true, the race today is to have more bitcoin because of the halving that will happen in the next year. With that, for people who are saying accumulate only a certain amounts of bitcoin, then maybe we should ignore it and try get the best out of the market. Accumulate as much as we can and feast as much as can when times comes our speculation becomes true. Of course we will not sell in price not worth our investment.

I think in terms of buying Bitcoin, there’s never a upper limit amount to buy. therefore don't think of it as an investment. It's a gamble, pure and simple. However, I will leave you with this fact. only 21M bitcoin will ever exist. approximately 3M-5M of that 21M bitcoin has been irrevocably lost, and block rewards are halved every 4 years and therefore bitcoins gain scarcity exponentially. if all bitcoin were in circulation and every human had an equal amount, that would equate to roughly 0.003 BTC. that is a good metric of wealth within the Bitcoin economy. thereby, just think about them and say why you should be careful about Buying bitcoin?

since we are in lowest price now,i think what you are doing is perfect and in timing, imagine that we are heading halving season and you decide to buy Bitcoin at this moment.

so Go take more amount from stocks and transfer here in crypto, but try to consider buying altcoins as well maybe those in top 1-10 is safer to make good bucks next year since you have mentioned that this is for holding.

What are you doing right now is good, as a newbie member in this forum I am gladly to see that even though a newbie has the urge to buy and risk on bitcoin which is a good thing to do.
If you have the urge to buy many bitcoins or if you have the big budget to invest on it then it is really good, all of us are excited what would be happen on our risking in bitcoin, I am just suggesting that don't panic if something happens on the price of bitcoin if it dumps so hard because it is normal that sometimes bitcoin dump. Keep buying bitcoin if it dumps so that when it pump up again you will gain profit on it, don't be carried away by your feelings that you will have a huge losses if that happens, just wait the good opportunity on when you will sell your bitcoins in the future. Good luck to all of us young fella.

I really do admire people who are really putting funds to cryptocurrency especially to bitcoin, because with the past years, what I am always doing is to work here and earn BTC. with that, I mostly invest what I earn without converting my physically earn fiats to crypto. So, it might be hard for me because it puts a pressure to my self that I am not contributing to the growth of bitcoin, I always try my best to spread the word about it. So people rather than me, will invest real money in our future which is considerably the BTC.

take all HALF of your stock investment and bring here to crypto, that is more than enough for Holding and trust me that would be doubled or tripled in just a year or two from now.,but remember there is no rush and you must be ready for longer holding if things dont come your way.

Any amount to buy bitcoin will do. It will also be worth it if bitcoin started to increase it's price again because even you invest your money in bitcoin in a small price as long you hold your bitcoin in a long term, there would be a chance that the money that you have invested would be double or triple depending on the pump of bitcoin's price.

It is still not too late for you to invest in this market, especially investing in Bitcoin. You can buy now and set a long-term goal, in the future I am sure the price of bitcoin will be many times higher than the current price. And the most important thing is how much patience you have to be able to expect profits from this market
I also set my goal in bitcoin for a long term investment and I know that being patient is one of the keys to earn good profit. As we expected, many people believe that in the coming future the price of bitcoin will become higher. Buying bitcoin is always a bright idea especially if you going to hold it for the long term but always make sure that you do not have a weak heart and do not too greedy to earn because in investing it always required time to earn good and high profit.

I believed that in the future bitcoin will be a big digital currency as the technology is rising the bitcoin surely is going to take over the digital world,
For sure in long term investment bitcoin is going to dominate compare to other cryptocurrencies that is just a copy or just an alternative token.

Also, bitcoin market price was on a lower side so I think it is a good opportunity to invest in bitcoin, still, it is risky for it will take time to gain a profit and we cannot surely see if it is worth the wait.

Heavily depends on your funds. You must always remember that only invest what you're ready to lose. This means only put in you're extra, non-neccessary funds that when you lose, doesn't really affect your living.

I never thought that the stock market would be boring and stagnant that even stock investors are migrating to crypto currency but anyways welcome aboard. Its not bad to put to much in crypto after all, it has proven itself as a safe asset to invest on by withstooding crypto bubbles in the past years. If i have lots of money i would surely go all in myself.

Yes, and maybe OP can get profit in short term with his stock trading. So both investment can be done in same time. Actually hold bitcoin is really flexible, only need patience and set target sell. If ready to hold for long term, maybe no problem will come if OP not see price of bitcoin a lot because sometime that thing make us to be unpatient and then it broke our plan for long term investment.

whether for the purpose of passive assets for the next 5-10 years, or for active trading? if it's passive, it's better to hold bitcoin and the rest diversify to 3 strong altcoins like eth, neo and xrp only.

If you are familiar with stocks, automatically you will not be too difficult to adapt to the volatility of crypto, your step is right because after halving, maybe crypto will not return at a cheap price like now.

Buy at least 0.1 Bitcoins and then add more if you can. I recommend 0.1 because it’s relatively affordable based on the current price but of course the more you can buy the better.

It's nice that you see the potential in bitcoin but you can also try out some altcoins, it's also good to invest on altcoin not only in bitcoin. But there are shitcoins so be careful with that.
How much Bitcoin to buy? Well that's up to you. We cannot tell you to buy this much because it's about how much Bitcoin you are capable to buy. And also don't get to hopeful that Bitcoin will do good right away. So think of how much you want to invest

Perhaps you have taken the right decision by investing into Bitcoin at this point but I suggest you not to get much greedy. As you said to pull out money from stock and put into Bitcoin, remember Bitcoin is very volatile, it can increase your capital many times but the same time it can decrease it within some days, it is OK if you can afford to lose your invested amount. Take risk as per your appetite. All the best.

bitcoin investment is clear and I agree with risk and demanded to be able to control and analyze correctly. because if you wrongly analyze and are impatient and panic quickly, it can be a very big loss will happen to you. bitcoin investment is a very unique and challenging investment, it can change very quickly whether it changes up or down and that's where a very precise analysis is needed so that no losses occur.

It doesn't really matter in my opinion but remember that investing in cryptocurrency was already a big risk for a lot of investors surely it is not recommended to invest all of your money what is recommended is just to invest the money that you could afford to lose. But investing a big amount of money could give you also a big amount of profit.

How much should I buy? Simple answer would be as much as your capasity to loose. It is very good to hold a chank of Cryptocurrency in your investment and if you are looking out for long term buy(as you mentioned) it is very great investment. You can even keep diversifying the crypto investment in other alts as well in the long term investment.

As per my analysis the BTC market can go a bit down from current situation, I am thus on hold at stable coin and enter in few days. excepting a spike in price by second quarter of 2020.

Disclaimer: this is my study of market. Please read the market and then step.

Do not let your emotion ride over the analysis. All the best.
You can actually buy how many bitcoin do you want as long as you are able to manage that big amount if you do that. Because at a time like this, bitcoin is not that good like what happened last 2017 wherein it reaches its highest value when it started reaching $20k and it is the golden time for everyone else using bitcoin because any projects that are coming are going successful because there are lots of investors that time. As long as you can manage every bitcoin you have there is no problem with it. If spike in value happened it is good for you to buy right now so that your money will be doubled up.

My only suggestion to you is to buy at dip always because you can earn more profit here especially when bitcoin price increase. And also if you have chance to sell for some good profit then don't waste your time sell now and wait for dip again and do buy back.

As long as it doesn't fail for some reason. If we knew what reason that might be we wouldn't have invested, but there's always a possibility of failure, just as there's always a possibility of a giant company like Amazon or Microsoft going bankrupt. IBM lost a lot of its value in the 90s when real competition came out.

Considering the current price of bitcoin which is quite low compared to the usually, it is not a bad move that you purchased large amount of bitcoin. If ever the price is too high and you bought plenty of it, you would totally regret it soon after as the value falls down together with your money. You should watch out about this thing cause it would lead you to greater benefits and a more successful investment. Bitcoin is currently under a crisis, actually it has been for so long already and we are all still waiting for it to recover or surpass its current highest value in the future.

Bitcoin investment is indeed the majority of people choose it, because they might think that investing in bitcoin is safer and promises to be kept for a long period of time, but for example we want greater profits maybe capital must be quite large, unlike the case with investing in altcoin might be able to choose a cheaper price and the capital is not so big, but future movements and developments are difficult to predict.

I think it is not really directly related to the emotions of a people, the decisions in the market will mainly depend in the thoughts of a person based from the news he could hear and read from the public. If we are sad, it will not necessarily trigger for us to buy and sell, thus we are thinking deep based on market condition for us to sell and buy. Definitely in 2020 we already know the concept of buy low sell high, we also already learned allot from our mistakes in the past market condition.

A good investor always moves planned. It is very difficult to say whether it will rise or fall for the Bitcoin price. I think a good plan can overcome them. You can schedule a continuous purchase of Bitcoin. Your average will always be alive. You should also make profit sales.

How many Bitcoins to buy depends on available funds you can invest and your appetite for risk.
First rule you need to follow is not to invest more than you can afford to risk. Don't think that Bitcoin will bring you only profit, there is potential loss possibility too so always have a back up plan and it's better to start will smaller amount.

Investing in bitcoin is a very appropriate decision, because bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency for investment. Bitcoin has very high volume
and also bitcoin now dominates the market up to 68% which means bitcoin is in high demand by investors. So investing in bitcoin doesn't
need to hesitate, but please think wisely. Don't buy with all the capital we have. This can be dangerous because investing in bitcoin is an
investment with very high risk. Because the price of bitcoin is volatility. So it can change suddenly the price of bitcoin. So my advice is to
buy bitcoin with 50% of the capital we have. The rest of the capital we have can stored in stable coins, so if the price of bitcoin drops from
the price when we buy it, we can still buy again bitcoin with the remaining capital we have.Buy bitcoin gradually.

Litecoin
EOS
Ripple

Well, at least you don't need money right now so you'll be ok when the price goes down which is good. 5-10 years for holding crypto is a good plan, make sure to hold them in the safest wallet or something that you can control the private key. Don't put them in exchange because anything can happen especially in 5-10 years, we've seen many exchanges got hacked or even vanished in the past. I see some people still holding their assets in exchange for the long term which is totally bad.

You've done right though, buying bitcoin is one of the best choices I believe you've made, I mean this timing is the best I think because it's going to increase in the future. In fact, buying bitcoin, unlike the other coins, is more profitable in the long run, because most altcoins are so poor and you barely get any gain from these.

You're probably just carried away in buying BTC but for me, it is a good buy. I trust BTC than any other altcoins so I'm confident that you won't go wrong about it.
If you're doing stocks then it is good that you diversify your investments as most experts say don't put all your eggs in one basket. Even if you see that BTC as a good way of earning now but if you're investing in the long term sense, it is good to put some money too in stocks since they are more stable.

stocks and bitcoin are two investment tools that have fluctuations. but I think bitcoin has higher fluctuations than stocks. and of course high fluctuations have a large risk but can also produce greater profits. and we must always do research before investing in bitcoin we must learn bitcoin and cryptocurrency well so that we don't make wrong decisions. Bitcoin is not always profitable for us and for investors. Let's look at the past bitcoin price went up to $ 19k, but now it's only $ 7000 after a long time. Obviously investing in this market has a very high level of risk. Therefore, we need to consider carefully before we want to invest in this market, we can become rich quickly but we can become poor quickly like that.

Good for you sir/maam that you stock bitcoin because its a good investment for a long term and good to hear that you have positive thought on bitcoin because some people are being negative because of what happen on 2017. There's a lot of investors buying high price then bitcoin drop easily. So many are disappointed on that point. For now good to accumulate bitcoin and hold it for a long term.

Its a great decision. Pulling out your stocks investment may seem not that much maybe. Its better to have both for you to have options just in case one will fail. Its best to diversify your funds. Bitcoin is good as well but price is really unpredictable just like stocks as well. When your asking of how much to buy bitcoin? Well I guess it depends on the funds you can possibly give out the most. There is really no limits or restrictions, it all depends on your fund level.

yes I think now is the right time to buy bitcoin because the price of bitcoin is quite low. and even if you have to sell some of your shares to buy bitcoin. if you want to hold bitcoin for at least 6 months. then later in the future you will benefit. but of course we have to be patient waiting for bitcoin to pump and not easily panic when the value of bitcoin has decreased.

There is not really a minimum amount you need to purchase Bitcoin to start your own online business. The minimum amount may be the camera set by the platform where you will buy the first piece of yours of Bitcoin. For instance, Coinbase allows the users of its to purchase Bitcoin from two dolars.

On another hand, I don't suggest investing such a tiny sum of money because exchange os's charge fees for buying, transferring and selling cryptocurrencies. These fees are going to kill your investment rapidly if it's not significant enough.

On the whole, I suggest purchasing a minimum of 501dolar1, even in case you are able to invest lower amounts. why not find out more (https://0123movie.net/)

Ideally no more than 10% to 15% of the portfolio should be composed of high risk assets, such as Bitcoin. In that way, even if anything goes wrong you will be able to stand on your foot. Diversifying is a good idea and I would say that you did the right thing by converting some of your stocks in to cryptocurrency. But you should draw a line and decide how much risk taking you can afford, depending on your financial stability.

if we already have an investment goal then I think when we do it must be really in accordance with what was written from the beginning. in time to hold it should be done with the time that has been written, and also has a selling price goal as well. so when it has successfully decided to invest, prepare our mentality as well

it was a good decision because you are now planning to invest in two different projects with shares and bitcoin, if I were in your position, I would of course take 60% of the stock of money to buy bitcoin because investing in bitcoin is very different compared to investing in gold or stocks because the price of bitcoin fluctuates which makes it possible to make a profit, so I think bitcoin is good for use as a protector of wealth or wealth enhancer.

It depends on you, it depends on your income and in your savings. You cannot follow the decision of the others because we all have different cash flow. But the best tips that you can follow is just invest what you can afford to lose. If you have extra money then maybe you should put it in bitcoin investment. Big amount of investment is not required after all if you want to make investment, it is better to start at small first in order to focus on protecting our capital.

I believe someone else mentioned it earlier but it's important to distance yourself a little and not to buy impulsively. Try to calm down, read more and then make a decision based on your logical thoughts and not the excited and emotional ones.

There could no possible negative implication if we are to buy huge amount of bitcoin, as long as we know how to diversify our buying activity, we could possibly reduce the risk of losing in the market. In addition, our emotion will impact us greatly on the timing we buy. But in my opinion, the biggest challenge when we need to put allot of attention and time in making decision is when we are about to sell. We need to make sure we have profits on our investment and never ever try to sell at lower price.

When the market begins to create spikes, people begin to get nervous. Emotions affect the adoption of the right decision and I agree with you it is needed to calm down and see if there is a profit if you sell now. It also happens when buying, you do not need to do it impulsively, it can play a trick on you, you need to make a decision in cold blood

It always depends on you on how you can lose or invest on any amount because you are the one who take the risk from holding bitcoin. If I have a lot of money I would spend some extra money that I have because I trust bitcoin and bitcoin never broke my expectation.

I will buy many bitcoin when price going down and selling back after price up, doing the same way when bitcoin back again buy and sell after price up, talking about how many bitcoin have to buy I think depend with how much money we have, recommendation if you have much money I think 5 bitcoin for trading is enough to get much profit every day about 3% and can be 5%.

Wow...that is too much Bitcoin dude. Though it doesn't matter for you to lose it(maybe) if you have a lot of money but please remember the risk that you going to indulge with. Putting an egg in just one basket will be riskier than spreading it some form of investment.
But anyway, that is your decision and I believe that you'll know exactly what you are doing.

You do a good task. I think that you but order completed of bitcoin. So hold your bitcoins still. After a long time when the bitcoin price even doubled.
And what do you do if after a period of hold bitcoin, its price drops 2 times compared to the original. This market is not safe, you can get a lot of profits if the market goes up, but you could lose everything if the market collapses. I do not encourage new investors to enter this market with the ambition to make a profit, they need to accept losses first. And if they are afraid of losses, they should invest in gold or the stock market

And it is literally the best way to think that the best profit will come in how much bitcoin to buy but with the instances of considering how effective we buy at certain market prices that is considerably profitable. Buying allot of bitcoin at higher market price will not give us any positive or income at all. If we have less funds to buy but we always choose to buy at good entry points, then it is the deal we should consider in investing in cryptocurrency in which we aim for bigger profits.

If you are not an expert trader it is better to not invest as much money in the markets despite the profits you believe you may get. This market can be very difficult to predict as the previous movements of bitcoin show to us, it is better to start with an amount of bitcoin that is way smaller so you can gain experience even if you can afford that many bitcoins, then once you are sure you can make money then you can use all your available capital.

in investing indeed we must know our limits, if the ability is not comparable with capital then it is better to reduce the capital owned to invest or do daily trading, the goal is to seek experience first. we have to understand ourselves and improve our ability periodically so I think whatever the funds are then we can look for profit when we have the ability.

no time can be exactly sure when we have to buy bitcoin, other than wanting to analyze continuously and pay attention to its movements. although some say bitcoin is a long-term investment but now we can buy and then sell it when we get enough profit. because bitcoin movement now every minute can change up and down quickly. that's where we look for loopholes in order to get profit.

That is what everyone should do but that is not what we see, most people want to trade the markets immediately as they see the price of bitcoin moving like it is doing now and they think that if they do not do it now then they are going to lose the opportunity to make money, but bitcoin and many other coins move like this all the time and you are not going to miss anything if you take a few months to learn how to trade but many decide to trade anyways and pay the highest price when they lose all their capital.

well, the most important is to be reasonable.... so, be patient, watch the market's fluctuations and then decide to buy more or not. Another important thing is to "never invest more than you cannot afford to lose", remember that quote. If you want to do something, different from buying btc, but still very connected with cryptocurrency industry, I recommend you to take part in a cryptocurrency affiliate program. Almost every cryptocurrency exchange has its own affiliate program. I recommend you to check for example this CoinDeal's one (https://coindeal.com/affiliate), I've used it and it's pretty profitable.

There is no limits on buying of bitcoin, whether it is a small portion of bitcoin or number of bitcoin surely everything will be highly valued as time goes on. Different users will have difference of opinion on the amount to be hold, it varies based on the need and the sophistication each expect. Beyond this very few take risk of selling all their belongings and buy bitcoin, and such risk takers have truly benefited out of the investment.

My personal opinion is that you should limit investment in high-risk assets such as Bitcoin to somewhere between 10% and 20% of your portfolio. Diversifying is always a welcome step.. but as we have seen during the past few years, cryptocurrency remains extremely volatile when compared to the other assets such as stocks and bullion. You should invest, only in case you can afford to hold the coins for at least 3 to 5 years.

Just to make hodling even more easier and possible, setting target bitcoin amount is a good example how to keep investing in crypto and how to keep future profits. Imagine, if we are targeting to have 1 BTC in the beginning, we will limit our cash out and conversion to fiats, as a result, we could hodl even higher amount of BTC, and might even learn how to easily increase its amount in trading. As long as we are active in cryptocurrency, especially on this forum and cryptocurreny market price websites, we could definitely achieve the profit that we want.

Currently and since Trump has announced they will not use their missiles (so no ww3) you can go for something big.

Probabily markets will still go even lower than currently for the week but gradually increase for the halving.

If you think you are investing and trading good go for more buying as well.

Well one thing that I would highly suggest is to take little instruction from others, What works for me might not work for you if anything and as a fellow trader I wouldn't want you to lose your precious investments let alone money you have worked hard for. What you're feeling right now might subside later on so I would highly suggest you take it little by little, testing waters so to speak and see if it looks better for you.

Investing in bitcoin is a very good decision, as bitcoin is the best investment cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has very high volume and Bitcoin now dominates the market up to 68 percent, which means that investors are in high demand for Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin doesn't have to hesitate, but think wisely, please. Don't buy everything we have with the capital. This can be dangerous as investing in bitcoin is a very high-risk investment. Since bitcoin's price is uncertainty. So it can suddenly change bitcoin's price. So with 50% of the capital we have, my advice is to buy bitcoin.

If you think that 1BTC is good enough for you, then that's enough.
Asking how much Bitcoin to buy will it depend on our capability as well. Coz if you have a lot of money to risk, why not of having 2 or 3 BTC. Bitcoin investment is really profitable, the more you invested the more you'll expect to earn also. Now, you have to look at your position and try to evaluate yourself if you are strong enough to face the challenge that you might encounter in the future.

If you will have 1 Bitcoin savings for this year and planning to hold it for a long time, then go for it, for as long as what you have bought then didn't came out from your hard earned money, once it is from your spare money. But, check well your priorities before you finally tell yourself that you will save Bitcoin and check if you are ready for the consequence.

If you have faith on btc, keep purchasing small amount whenever you can. I know some people who spent like 5% of thier monthly income to buy btc and some other cryptos. Cause after 10years btc will be into different height and it seems to me that 10k or 20K per coin is imminent. I would try to collect as much as possible.

This is also my plan, but I consider buying bitcoin at good market price even though it takes me allot of time waiting for the right time for me to buy, I am just saving the fund to my local exchange wallet so whenever I need to buy bitcoin, It would be easy. In addition, I advise to strictly not take out our bitcoins out of our personal wallet unless we are willing to take risk to trade it for profits. Because believe me or not, once we exited the market, it is very hard to come back especially, upon considering to have profits, we need to buy at lower market price.
