Maybe youtube are just playing safe here. Since a lot of people are losing money in crypto investments, they want crypto related videos gone so they will not be blamed by the proliferation of crypto-related losses. But I think should not be all videos, they should assess the content. If it is more on informational videos towards crypto, they should not delete.

Yeah, that's right.
By deleting crypto-related videos, YouTube has shown its attitude that most crypto investment ends up being a scam. Which is done by people who are not responsible. Whereas crypto like bitcoin and top altcoin have never committed fraud, what is wrong is only those who promote it and flee their investors' money.

Did they made any changes against cryptos in their terms and policies? I can still view videos related to cryptos and trading so they are not entirely screening crypto contents maybe some particular influencers who go against their community terms.

Same here. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency tutorial and educational videos are still available in Youtube. This must be limited to a few channels or influencers only. Perhaps they are violating certain terms or conditions. But this is not a complete ban for sure.

youtube is owned by google and that makes sense if youtube is also following the act that already taken by google about crypto.
We must have own platform to do that. All of the major companies suck, just hope there will be an alternative way to publish anything related to the visualization through the crypto platform for vlogging.

But not all of videos are about promoting crypto some may discuss about what crypto or something else.

Maybe it's not a policy change from YouTube, but there are some reports that YouTube might receive from people watching videos about Crypto.
People can report any video and be reviewed by YouTube. Maybe the report deleted the video on that channel. but for other channels that contain crypto is still safe and can be watched.

I think there is a missed point of this application of Youtube. Not all Youtube channels, only some of them have received these alerts. In order to comment, we must first learn what they have in common.

wow, I think this is really a big problem for those who share about crypto on youtube and make money from it.  I think this problem is caused by too many channels being established just to acclaim fraudulent projects and buy likes and views.  This has been attracting attention for a long time and now they have started to punish crypto-related people.  I personally think this is not a very friendly job of YouTube, they are removing millions of their customers.

I also think the same, because no TOS has changed, only stronger toward sentiment towards massive reporting actions, YouTube removes video content that leads to bitcoin buying suggestions, or suggestions and guidelines for other crypto investments.

YouTube is still in a position to prevent, but it doesn't make sense to consider that the deleted content is considered to be in the harmful category, they need further research on this.

So sad news. I have also gone through this piece of article. Once Facebook and google slapped a ban on crypto-related advertisements. Now it is the time for YouTube to do so. But YouTube doing so will not discourage the importance of cryptocurrency as it is being widely adopted across the globe. I think YouTube will lift this ban soon following pressure.

Maybe they do not want to associate with crypto currencies which is kind of understandable. Cryptos has shown literally nothing for the past two years and no further steps made towards the mass adoption.

Maybe youtube management do not want to involved in any crypto issues and I think they don't want to pay crypto blogger that already hit their views quota in their site because all we know that crypto is not yet on legal status so it is hard to be part of any blog that sharing in public. I think this is the main reason why youtube management do that.

I think depending on the content from YouTube, if you only provide information related to the crypto world I think YouTube does not delete it, but the type of projects that offer ICOs that are vulnerable to the scams they delete.
I think it's natural because they don't want to be blamed.

That's a newb investor perspective, and big companies don't act like that. I believe that youtube is just acting on some new orders from sec, because almost certainly many of those videos are violating some securities law or something like that.

This shouldn't be an issue... not strange to me. What is alittle strange is why centralized companies have tolerated decentralization for too long.
I think people on this space should learn to depend less on centralized platforms and begin build great decentralized alternatives.
People who don't know about cryptocurrency are more at risk, in my opinion.
People should learn to depend less on "governments" and begin to build proper/ethical governments
themselves

Its quite disappointing to hear the sudden cracked on crypto related contents and being removed or deleted by youtube they ought to have stated the reason for their actions or possibly profiles the contents which are more or less promoting scams of course there are quite a number of crypto videos which are genuinely promoting the crypto positively personally its high time a rival decentralized video platform should be established.

There's a rumor spreading before but I don't know if they implemented it or not but I can't blame them to impose those since there are so many crypto scams involve and youtube has been used as their source of advertisement and maybe youtube find that dangerous to their users that's why they shut this off. And hope this could help to minimize the scams but although it can affect the platform who do a good performance.

It seems like Google used to also have a policy for cryptocurrency ads and it's been revoked. Regarding You Tube, maybe the deleted content is content that suggests investing in several or one type of crypto because from what I know there are still some videos about crypto that still exist but the content does not provide investment advice

Can't wait to see the whole Reddit cleaned up. Don't know about Youtube much since I hardly go on there and all the suggested videos are for me sports or music, but I would love Google to do the same for their search engine (since they now own Youtube right?).

Kill all the spam and ads, and keep the internet clean like this forum. Happy to hear this news to be honest!

Indeed. I think the only reason why YouTube did that because they heard that scams have increased in crypto that spread all over the internet, that is why cleaning all those messes by just deleting all their videos is the bestest way actually. I think other social media sites will also start to delete those crypto related that are not that helpful to people.

Actually this is sad news related to crypto. after google and facebook, youtube followed him to ban crypto ads on their platforms. This may be the youtube does not agree with crypto because there are too many problems or victims of scammers. I completely disagree that YouTube forbids crypto content-themed videos to be banned, I think YouTube needs to filter crypto content, if for the problem of bitcoin and blockchain technology. I'm sure it all started with a waste ICO that is of no use to crypto-wolrd.

What I know, youtube has begun to accept crypto, but unfortunately what I see here youtube does not explore thoroughly about crypto or maybe just play it safe, and as evidenced by the number of my friends who were affected by scamm just because they were tempted by passing advertisements. Maybe from here also youtube limits content related to crypto, because if a scam is still hanging around. Many people will complain and YouTube does not want that to happen.

Cryptocurrencies are risky and unregulated accept it or not especially for people who are not so techy. ICOs just raise money and then their products just never arrive. So, people feel that they could be cheated at any moment. And our ICOs are responsible for this. Now youtube too might have realized that this ICO thing is making their platform negative. Youtube too will soon realize blockchain's potential but Cryptocurrencies will never be something this would would like to advertise looking at the current reputation.

This is most likely an isolated case because on YouTube without cryptocurrencies many fraudulent projects are advertised (sports betting, pyramids, hydra, etc.). It’s interesting to find out the reason for the removal from YouTube itself.

some time ago we have obtained the proof and indeed the plan has been around since last year, that youtube considers crypto as a dangerous asset so they prohibit all forms of content about crypto. but in some videos for bounty promotion, actually we can still see it some time ago, but don't know if everything has been banned now. I think the current policy of YouTube looks anethat the content there is also strange content that is trending.

I am following quite few crypto related people myself as well and from what I can understand they have removed a lot from the people who talked about stuff like prices and charts and technical analysis etc etc but they also did the same for stock market people as well few months ago, so I think they do not want people to give financial advise to strangers on their platform.

For example, the people I watch and subscribe for mining related stuff are standing and none of their videos are deleted, maybe miners are getting a free pass because it looks like they are not suggesting anything to people but mostly showing others how the miners work and what they do etc etc. I kinda do understand why youtube may not want people to give out financial advise on their platform on the basis of "what if people lose money because of you" but that is kinda limiting free speech.

I also checked all the channels that I subscribed in and videos that I bookmarked and they are still live, the uploader should message Youtube about this issue, there might be a new policy or there is a violation if you have videos with hundreds of thousands of views that means it's ranking and it's a big loss if they deleted it.

The renewal of new requirements made by YouTube now seems very strict and it seems that this only applies to small channels that do provide Cryptocurrency content because according to some news reports many large business channels related to crypto escaping the cull. And of course this is a threat to the world of Cryptocurrency because youtube is one of the largest video sharing platforms in the world and of course the ban might also have an effect on banning crypto on google like an issue that was once circulating in the past.

I think they are deleting only that videos of the crypto projects about the future of which we do not know. Many people are creating videos for the upcoming projects in many projects scam the investors. If someone want to create their videos about crypto and they do not want to see them delete then they have to create videos about the established and legit projects. I hope Youtube will not delete that videos of established coins and projects.

They're not specifically cracking down on crypto youtubers, but only high risk influencers that are known to be involved with dubious projects and platforms.

It's just part of Youtube's no crypto advertising policy, which is now being extended to videos that are primarily for marketing crypto projects and altcoins.

The vast majority of removals were just a mistake though: https://decrypt.co/15590/youtube-to-deleted-crypto-video-sites-oops-we-screwed-up

Not only cryptocurrency, forex trading also get blocked by youtube because many people are interest with the ROI from trades, but in reality they are losing their money, so youtube will take care about the content, they won't get blammed about it.

If this is the case, they should remove all adult related material, hate speech, gambling videos and violence as well, if they are so nit picky I understand that there are many crypto scams and after programs like Bitconnect, it is right that some videos should be removed but also there should be some allowance for some crypto items as the crypto market is here to stay and you cannot just ignore a 250 billion dollar financial market. Maybe they should make it like cigarette packets, make every video influencer have a big disclaimer on each video. Let people have a choice to watch or not to watch with the disclaimer.

I noticed several update from YouTube and several restricted rules from YouTube. I didn't find any rules against cryptocurrency or I did miss. But I believe this is another restricted rules from beginning, after sometime everything will run and will go smooth for few months just quite down or upload by maintaining rules.

YouTube? Well, they have always had a fraught relationship and now they have turned worse. And for sure it is not every crypto content on YouTube that’s really bad, there are lots of good videos that can be helpful to people on how to access cryptocurrencies.

But, I won’t blame them for going on a crypto videos deleting spree without even checking whether the videos are good or not, there are lots of videos on YouTube that are related to cryptocurrencies and they wouldn’t have the time to go through all to know what they are really all about. There are still videos about cryptocurrency that are still not deleted, maybe they have their reasons for deleting the ones they deleted.

Quote
According to Bham, who has been uploading crypto-related content to his YouTube page since 2016, a channel hit with a strike such as this may be unable to livestream for up to 90 days, heavily impacting a user’s income.
now they are now voicing out their displeasure because of this although there is a report that it was just a mistake by Youtube

Not only cryptocurrency, forex trading also get blocked by youtube because many people are interest with the ROI from trades, but in reality they are losing their money, so youtube will take care about the content, they won't get blammed about it.
That's why we should be careful on what we watches in YouTube, some might be too good to be true that attracts too many victim. I think it's right for YouTube to remove those who have been reported scam, since YouTube might have reasons why it is deleted.

Crypto influencers are frustrated and confused by YouTube deleting crypto-related content on its platform

Based on Twitter and Reddit threads, YouTube suddenly began deleting a number of cryptocurrency videos on Dec. 23.

YouTuber Chris Dunn, whose channel has over 210,000 subscribers, noticed on Monday that the platform had removed all of his videos that mentioned cryptocurrencies.

Maybe youtube are not allowing people are promoting crypto content for free, because i've still seen many crypto ads on youtube that means youtube are not banning cryptocurrency instead of want people to pay if they want to promote their crypto project which is non sense for me since youtube is free platform for any videos. Seems like discrimination

Start using the Steemit powered d.tube or other YouTube alternatives.
They're heavy on the censoring side on political topics as well.

Now that you mentioned, I noticed some of the videos crypto related was indeed deleted by youtube.
No idea if it's just a random inspection on youtube's part and deleting whoever caught their eyes about crypto advertising, but this one still concerning.

I'm not saying that every one of youtube's crypto related videos is a good one, but I've also seen many of scammed ads on youtube itself.
Well, at least from the article, youtube's team already looking into this matter and we're waiting for another update from them.

I agree with this and i think this is not only for that. I have other reason and i think that to reduce scammer who always share fake airdrop and bounty. Because Youtube is the popular   website sharing video with more than millions visitor.

I also noticed this one upon searching some tutorials about crypto trading maybe those videos that violating the terms and conditions are now banning on youtube because we all know theres a lot of people lossing money by investing on scam project.

I am not saying that those channels and Youtube influencers who are banned are scammers. I personally don't think they are scammers. But for sure they are violating some rules. Which rule, I am not sure of. Or it could also be a possibility that Youtube committed an error or slip of judgement in those cases. There are projects that have Youtube videos that are shady but they are there to stay.

that's true especially when it comes to the this news

https://beincrypto.com/fake-litecoin-foundation-scam-defrauds-309-ltc-from-users/

in that article is clearly stated if scammer is also using youtube and fake reviews (probably comments and likes) to make his video looks legit.

If youtube is censoring it and that sounds better rather than the youtube itself will have a big problem with the regulators caused by youtube is allowing scam promotion through the video that already published on youtube.

whatever it is I hope this will not continue in the future, this is like bad news for crypto, when one of the big social media refused to promote crypto, although some people responded wrongly.

You are right on YouTube not deleting informational videos on crypto. YouTube has also released a statement that in bid to sanitise it community or those crypto videos that are primarily for fraud, it erroneously wiped some important and informative crypto videos. They have restored normalcy ever since anyway

I think they have extended it to Playstore, they just deleted metamask to Playstore, after Youtube and now Metamask, what more rules can Youtube implement against the Cryptocurrency community, they have done this is in the past on Google adwords and it's possible they will again disable adwords that are related to Cryptocurrency.

Why is Youtube or Google doing such a thing? What happens if Youtube makes Libra payments, not dollars. They can also pay bitcoins. I don't think it makes sense for Youtube to implement such a ban. They say it's already a mistake.

YouTube already apologize to the public that they made a mistake and they will restore those deleted videos. It is a wrong move of their bots that suddenly deleting some of the crypto related videos. I don't know if it will happen in the future but they should have to consider if the contents is not informative.

they have apologized, and the mistake they said on their part was bot and we don't know whether it's pure or not. but the current problem has been resolved hopefully in the future there will be no more problems like this anymore because it actually harms crypto, because YouTube media is one of the media for advertising and education about crypto
