Hello Community; as you know from the last 3 days the social media is full of this topic. What’s your opinion on it? What’s the main reason behind it?

According to me; what’s are the possibilities- 
1)   Crypto is being purge by Youtube.
2)   Attract by some kind of group intentionally.
3)   Attract from Scam Coins (Since good YouTubers telling the true story).
4)   Wrong YouTube Algorithm.
5)   Lots of Fake ICO, Crypto Exchange related videos on YouTube.

Guys, till now I am confused but I added all of my probabilities. End of the day, I am scared. Because, I have learned so many things by watching YouTube crypto videos. I can’t imagine a single day without watching my favorite’s cannel.

Whatever, now really want to know all of your opinion on this issue.

I'm sorry but why you need to be scared? I'm sure that you already learned a lot from watching youtube videos so it's about time that you practice it yourself. As far as the bans, I don't think that youtube wanted it to be permanent. Perhaps they just wanted to get rid of the bad eggs here and free their system with a lot of scammers. Nothing to be afraid of.

It's really unfortunate! I personally learned crypto trading techniques frkm YouTube itself. I believe, Youtube is trying to keep themselves clean from any controversial matters. YouTube has been used extensively to promote ICO and token offerings and if you look at the trend from 2017, you will see 99% of such offerings are scam! Billion of dollars have been siphoned out by these scammers in these three years!

But there must be something big going on at their end which we are not aware about or we are not able to understand yet.

This is what happens when you are using a centralized platform. Talking about cryptocurrency and not using a decentralised platform.

Google, Facebook and Twitter are kings in their domain, they have the right to delete and destroy anyone using their platform. That what Google did now.

Not one of them have favoured cryptocurrency in the past nor will they do in the future.

There is nothing we can do with this except called on Google why this is being implemented and maybe ask them for a clear-cut guidelines on things related to cryptocurrency. I have to be honest that indeed there can be that need to curtail on scams and ponzi schemes being promoted on YouTube but this should not be done at the expense at those honest videos. As a centralized platform, YouTube has all the power to do whatever it wanted to. Though this is a sad move on my part, maybe YouTube could have done some previous announcement and even consultation before releasing the ax.

Whatever it might be, I think it's an isolated case, or probably a coordinated attack. It might be personal, or is related to hate on cryptocurrencies. Either way, I don't think Google has switched sides already. And I don't think they'd censor cryptocurrencies either. I also don't think they are on a crackdown on cryptocurrencies, and that it's only limited to a few.

I try to search information about this, but the information just came from crypto currencies blog/site related. I don't find any source from big news sites such as Forbes, Techcrunch or any technology news portal. I think this news just another FUD. I checked few YouTube channels that create ICO/IEO reviews, all of video from channel is accessible, are you sure it's not because government authorities limited crypto video's in your country?

I don't know what's really happening of this is true. But creators should message or email YouTube to ask them why they have to remove some crypto videos. YouTube will probably answer that. We still have no announcement from YouTube itself so it's hard to say why they are doing that. I just think they should have contacted them before posting something on their other social medias for more clarifications

It's not just cryptocurrency videos, but they are apparently also not monetizing many political videos as well.  They are adopting some more strict guidelines for some reason.

Because YouTube can not decide on the limits of what is allowed on its site. Because there are big fish who do not like to lose their money due to the fact that more and more people are beginning to delve into crypto and blockchain systems.

I believe they are under pressure from the government and have to change their terms, from which they must ban all cryptocurrency-related videos and videos about ICO projects. With the current situation, I think Youtube will continue to delete more channels and videos in the near future until everything becomes clean.

I’m not sure Yt would reconsider their stance once they decide to ban certain video contents, it’s interesting every major sites would always certainly unfavoring bitcoin, the steorerotype is strong among them.

That's certainly true, but everyone should have known about the possibilities before this and everyone knew Youtube is run by Google and that Google can do whatever it wants.  

It isn't clear to me to what extent the video deletion is happening or why they're doing it.  It's a really bad move on Youtube's part if this is some kind of crypto-wide video ban, because they're already becoming the big bad censor that everyone hates now.  I'm sure if Google had its way, it would be only mainstream media outlets who could post content on their site.  I don't think they care to host videos for people who don't draw in big revenue for them.

Screw Youtube.  Even if they didn't remove every single crypto video on their site, screw them.

It's not only crypto that is being purged. A lot of political extremists got their channels deleted or at least received warnings. This is connected to the changes of Youtube TOS according to which if you attack other people in your videos you can get a community strike. Many crypto youtubers used to talk about crypto scams like those guys who promoted bitconnect, but many others criticized and exposed these scams and also got those videos deleted.

Youtube doesn't want free speech. They don't want you to criticize or expose other people, they don't want you to dox. You are to be a silent audience that devours information they're feeding you. Time for some decentralized free media to take over!

They did this on the second quarter of 2018 too, IIRC, and Google also shut down some ads relating to cryptocurrency services as well hinting that they dislike the exposure cryptocurrencies are getting within their own platforms. If I remember, they haven't fully banned crypto-related ads and videos in YouTube on 2018 but just on Google ads. But right now it seems that they are cracking down on cryptocurrencies yet again without any definite nor possible reason. Google has been acting weird, and makes me think that they might be on to something crypto-related on their own.

Maybe youtube is getting a lot of report about these creators I don't think this videos should be removed since they are creators they are discussing things about cryptocurrency and not particularly promoting a cryptocurrency projects that is a scam project, I could easily understand if they are just having a safety measure buy blocking scam projects but this is videos from youtube creators. Maybe youtube now hates cryptocurrency.

I think this is a great chance for some decentralized social media platforms to win over this situation, take full advantage of it and push all of those YouTube lovers to come to their platforms and watch those videos there by giving some rewards for the same. Like Brave gives us BAT tokens to surf in the browser, there are platforms which got covered by the dirt of Finance by having their tokens devalued since the 2018-19 disaster. Now it is the time for them to take the show in their hands and turn the tables for their projects.

As far as I know the system is being abused by a group of individuals who are coordinating "flagging" actions so specific videos and channels get "banned" and hidden from public sight at least temporary. I don't know what are the benefits of this group caused by these actions.

could you show us a couple of videos that were good and removed?
i ask this because i don't really follow any Youtube channels but i occasionally watch some stuff and ever since this news came out i re-visited most of them and they are still there.
so my guess is that they are only purging the garbage such as videos trying to gain views by pretending to do TA for bitcoin or those talking about altcoin prices and try to pump the shitcoins they bag hold,... removing these videos is an excellent decision.

Most youtubers, basically all of them are paid shills and also abusing referals senting their audiences in scam exchanges and making them lose money.
I hope they get banned all of them as they promoted scams, shitcoins, shady schemes and got paid a lot for it.
They are not even entertaining and their live chat rooms are full of ridiculous paid shills talking about ridiculous coins they were so stupid and blind to invest in. Probably paid youtube services of bots or total retards that only irritate rational viewers.
Perhaps only Chris Dunn is an exception but he also made a paid video lately while in the past he said he didn't need to do any.
I hope they ban them as they were useless and diverting people into scams.

I would also like to know this. I have had a youtube account for over 10 years and have never had a problem and I am very vocal and very raw and direct. Never a single strike nor warning as it should be. I have not known youtube to be this way. It sounds very odd to me since youtube it pretty liberal and free. Youtube is the place to go for learning videos. Censorship is something I find difficult for me to believe since youtube really doesn't seem to support censorship and as far as I have experienced it's not censored at all. (obviously clear abuse cases are)

Youtube is not what it used to be. It has killed and still kills a lot of genuine content creators. YT is turning into TV money making machine and long term they will get burned for that.

If you think that you did not break the rules, then you should contact the support service, because very often errors occur when youtube channel is blocked for no reason.  The fact is that the YouTube administration automatically selects suspicious information that may advertise phishing sites or any other fraudulent projects.  Of course, each user must carefully select information for his video so as not to fall under suspicion.

Surely they are aware of what is happening in the cryptocurrency community I think they are planning to ban this kind of videos since they are getting a lot of reports but for me it is not a good thing because they already deleted a whole channel for just a single restriction like this for me it is unfair for the owner of the channels.

well now that it happened i guess all are again fair in the youtube crypto influencers, this might just be a good time for me to create youtube videos related to blockchain and present myself as social media influencer to get a high paying job from crypto teams who needs advertising.

Since, it's under Google and Google ads has already stopped with cryptocurrency ads. Now it's being followed by YouTube as well as YouTube is an easy and a profitable medium of advertisement. Videos are anyday more attractive than plain ads. Just like other social media companies like Facebook and Twitter which already have curbed cryptocurrency advertisement, I am guessing that YouTube has too done it because of the increasing scam.
People advertise their scam ICOs through these social media platform at negligible cost and many people fall for such stupidity.

You shouldn't be scared of what's happening to YouTube. I'm more concern with these content creators if YouTube is the only place where they post their videos and they didn't backed up any of those videos from their channel. Day by day the algorithm is changing and I think it has something to do with these deleted videos, I'm sure that if they comply and file for dispute, and YouTube agrees then they can easily retrieve those deleted videos.

But if YouTube becomes firm of their decision and those disputes won't help, there's nothing they can do unless they find another platform to continue their advocacy and monetize their videos.

Recently I got message from youtube where it was stated that every content creator has to mark on youtube whether their content is created/acceptable for children or not in order to protect COPPA and other rules.
As far as I know chanel owners had to mark their videos according to this but still idk whether it has to.do something with current case cause otherwise there is no reason to delete bitcoin related videos on youtube, there is no such rule, he can send claim on his videos.

From the information you provided, I don't really think it is only crypto related videos that are affected, others might be too.

They are most affected by YouTube fraud, which is why they remove videos.
Youtube looks after its customers in some way and may not have delved deeper into the crypto world to know about it.
These videos must be more detailed, contain more information, and the presentation must be nice and clear, and everything else will be condemned to be scam.

Unfortunately what makes youtube is those people who aren't really into technology and I can't see then moving over to decentralized platform which potentially confuse and make them give up from switching platform at the first try. Such bitter truth that youtube has now already in the mind of many people it's so hard to see other streaming platform than youtube.

it became a hot topic in this forum where many crypto related channels were removed by youtube, maybe because of the many reports, many scams in the name of crypto on YouTube, as we know that YouTube is Google's property, whether in the future Google will also censor crypto-related searches or articles.

So how will you explain that people lost videos or got their channels flagged for posting investing tutorials even those unrelated to crypto or analysis of financial markets also unrelated to crypto? Youtube is biased and it has proven it many times by attacking channels that were supporting certain movements like pro-life, MGTW, now it's investment channels. Do you really need to be protected from free speech?

If YouTube will prohibit a crypto content, this will greatly slow down the popularization of crypto and create the opinion that crypto is bad because YouTube does not approve of this. Do you think this will not hurt? I am sure that we should afraid of the ban of the largest media platform

I think this is a big mistake during cleaning old materials. I am sure that YouTube is not one of those platforms that do something contrary their rules

So in the past few days, did YouTube make a mistake or have some problems with cryptocurrency videos? And now deleted videos are being restored to what they were before, if they were right then we wouldn't have to worry. Everything is still under control and this market will not be affected by this news

Youtube is a big place for cryptocurrency, I hope they don't push this kind of action and I hope that youtube will support cryptocurrency in the future and make this as an option for their paid advertisement. Let's not panic on this one and let's wait for the official announcement of Youtube!  :)

I don't know whats wrong whit youtube want to banned bitcoin without have good reason, there are many bad video publishing in Youtube but keep exist without banned like bad attitude video publish on youtube, I hope although youtube want to banned bitcoin keep make price bitcoin will higher price and don't have anything effect where can make bitcoin down.

Not necessary youtube are banning bitcoin and cryptocurrency related videos, it is just a matter of deleting or removing unnecessary video content that are making by some users of youtube so that the watchers of the said platform will not br able to watch some bad related videos that attached with the cryptocurrency. YouTube is used by so many people in the cryptocurrency to promote and help their projects to be successful but the remaining balance of the projects that are legit are lessen and the scam projects that are promoting in the youtube are deleted in order to be safe to their watchers because there are a lot of people who are watching this platform and we know that this is one of the best way to promote things and etc.

I don't think what's happening because i always take many cryptocurrency related video from YouTube and you know many projects IEO/ICO their promoting YouTube with review also. Onece think i don't have received any information about banned cryptocurrency adds in YouTube because it's other good part in YouTube media.

In my opinion, this is not the fault of crypto alogarity, except that even channel traders will be banned, it may be an error of alogarity. but at the moment, I do not feel it is an error of alogarity.
so far, I think that this is at odds with scammers, and so many ICOs have become scams. So, YouTube cleans it up so that investors who are looking for investment sites on YouTube don't go there. that is still my opinion, but so far I am still looking for clarity.

You're right, even youtubers had a crypto project sponsors and they promote crypto so much. so there are no chances that crypto banned in youtube maybe it is a rumors and if this happen many users or crypto influencer will protests. and I also think that youtube won't do that because they also had many problems against coppa and banning non money maker videos so it is hard to believe it will gonna happen.

when it comes to security maybe YouTube does prevention, but in doing prevention it must be done in the sorting because not all videos about crypto blame the rules. I hope this rule applies to only a few types of videos, because there are still many videos that have a good level of crypto knowledge

most of crypto channels are made to scam and spread false information and all , if we check YouTube regulations and rules we will know why they have banned videos ,or typical copyrights issue just read youtube regulations

If I'm not mistaken, this not not the first time that YT have been crypto related videos. Maybe the purge has something to do with a lot of fake giveaways videos circulating around.

Of course, they have to make a hard line stance against those who take advantage. And those legit crypto influencers such as Dunn who have been affected will be given a chance to recover their channel once everything settles down.

The only time they could probably delete or ban youtube videos of these cryptocurrency enthusiast is when they violated some of the rules that youtube set. But as far as I can read, there is no rules that have been compromised and it imparts some political and economical influences to crypto space and the youtube industry. If they continue doing this, I think its time for us to have our own video streaming platform that mainly focuses on cryptocurrency news, updates and literally everything about crypto.

Probably because most of those video channels from youtube are promoting hype groups. Just like scam projects of ICO/IEO, they know that it will harm people that might be watching the video and they want to protect those naive youtube users that probably fall and the next victim of hype group. It's a chronic incidence now that there are always scam projects out there maybe there someone concern about that. Nevertheless, there are other social media to use than youtube.

I think Youtube bans bitcoin and crypto to avoid people to being scam. I dont mean bitcoin is scam, Youtube may think bitcoin is a tool that scammers use to scam people and they ban it right now. Other crypto project also get ban, maybe those projects are ponzi, scam... I think crypto still need more times to be accepted by the crowd before get unban. Dont too worry about this, when they start unban crypto, bull run will return.  ;)

In my own opinion, it is a good news for me that YouTube is starting to clean the crypto related videos on their site because there are a lot of scams projects video that are spreading not only in youtube, but all over the internet, that is why it is fine to me that youtube is starting to delete these videos.

Many videos makers do anything wrong with their videos,that's why youtube bans crypto videos.now seem many unuseful videos on youtube.

I would be scared, why not? they are censoring content heavily. To quote the late great Thomas Jefferson "He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither." Thomas Jefferson also said: "He who gives his freedom for safety gets none of them". As long as your fine giving up your liberties they will continue to strip them away. I feel for the content providers who have spent hard work through blood sweat and tears making those tutorials and educational videos, because it will now be in vain.

YouTube might assume that content about cryptocurrency can be detrimental to people because so far if we see a lot of scams that we encounter in the crypto project, but you don't need to worry because today YouTube has stated that they have recovered some of the deleted videos in the last few days.

Not all crypto related videos on YouTube are banned and deleted by youtube. I think they delete some scam ico videos and exchange like you said.  Because until now i see many videos related in crypto but this is tutorial,  educational,  and some trading analysis.  

That is very unreasonable if youtube claims that alibi, just think of clickbaits in youtube, you could see tons of people deceiving the user of the content then it turns out to be far from the title and they get views counted for earning money. Youtube already re-uploaded the deleted videos from various channels and guess what, it is not about avoiding the masses to be scammed.

youtube is known for its unpredictable algorythms and weird support and policies
they can ban your channel for no reason , you can get strikes for what the others don't , happily stealing the content etc.
the media is full of this topic just because some bloggers who have the audience to be heard said about it
this has been happening for ages but to smaller bloggers and youtubers
for a example , a friend of mine got his channel banned , he only had mining and cryptocurrency videos
only 3.000 views on average and 5.000+- subscribers , no idea why would youtube take it down at all
there was nothing criminal or breaking copyright laws there , just his mining rigs , description of how to build them and so on
this was at the times when GPU mining was good , so you can safely say that it is not a start of the witch hunt by youtube but its continuation

As @avikz say on the first page 'youtube is trying to keep themselves clean from any controversial matters' and that is true. And honestly, most video that has deleted by youtube are airdrop event.

But it is a good step in my opinion, they will reduce the negative things about cryptocurrency first so as there is no one who will be scammed anymore. And this case will eventually same with facebook when they tried to ban crypto and they accept back again.

Their reviewer must manually check each video to clarify what exactly had the videos violated because it only confuses people right now and now want to upload anymore.  On the other thread it I also read that the videos deleted are the ones discussing investment and encouraging people to invest to some project which is the reason for the video taken down.

I think it was by mistake. They have updated the algorithm. I heard that they will restore those channels and video. So don't panic.

Well, I don't think youtube is just deleting video contents of cryptocurrency. There might be some particular reasons behind why these videos are been deleted. But personally, i haven't seen anybody who I have subscribed to their crypto channels complaining that their videos have been deleted yet. I think those whom their videos have been deleted might be breaking the YouTube terms and conditions.

Is this for good ? I mean you will no longer be able to upload such videos ? Even if I saw a lot of shady videos about cryptos on youtube , I have some decent channels that I follow in order to take my extra info about a project or a trading tip so I don't see the reason of why this videos will no longer be legit for uploading.

Regarding scams on youtube this is a step-forward in that direction and I do hope only the real good channels will remain active on this category.

Highly likely their security is triggering some false positive alarm. Their algorithm is probably flagging those videos. Wasn't it few years ago that youtube and google starting banning all ICO and crypto related stuffs? Even facebook if I am not wrong. But they ending reversing everything. Or they have actually updated their policy, thus removing all videos. Lets see what happens after few days.

Maybe in future Google may come up with the new features or any decentralized application works with Google integrated application. Then very soon we can expect some cryptocurrency from Google corporation directly.
So we do not need to worry about the band which is now from the YouTube, I believe this is temporary ban and soon everything will be settled positively.

I was also checking about this and have some information that they are now bringing some stick policy about scam groups and scam projects so just because of this they are doing this all hopefully this will be clear in next few days and we can do again with good and solid projects on youtube.

The opinion about algorithm issues is right and YouTube finally said that this was all a mistake and that's really a mistake on their part.

Most of educational channels are doing fine albeit the massive news regarding the raiding of crypto channels. Youtube will not just outright ban without a proper reason and they are doing this because there are too many garbage videos talking about scam investment. I'm myself always stumbled upon such videos everytime I'm trying to seek information regarding crypto so it's not a problem on my end. Youtube also want to reveal from where the funding of a channel comes from and if it comes from a shady organization it will be taken down aswell.

Don't be afraid guys , if you want to get more information about cryptocurrency you can visit forum cryto ( Bitcointalk , Altcoinstalk , Crytotalk , etc )
Platform video streaming it's not just YouTube.

There are youtube channels that are spreading wrong information. Youtube want to protects its community and that is why there are crypto contents and channels that are been banned recently. It makes me cringed when I see a youtube video that is spreading misconception to its viewers and for me it should really deleted. Those video maker are also ignorant because they really do not know what they are saying.

and yeah Youtube is the last source of information in regards to crypto
but it is a huge platform to overlook if you want to promote something related to bitcoin and to see your work of a couple of years undone is bad

If youtube have stop and banned for promoting bitcoin and cryptocurrency you have thousand way to make bitcoin and altcoin become popular payment currency by advertising with your social media account like Instagram, Facebook and you can use twitter social media platform, above three social media platform most effective for promoting bitcoin and altcoin.

I donot remember going to youtube to search for bitcoin related tutorial's. i did when i was learning how to send an encrypt msg's,blockchain ...

It is! But youtube already apologizes to everyone for the mistake that they've done and is planning to restore those deleted videos by their bots. It is already been talked in another thread for what the youtube management has been done.

You don't need to be scared mat, youtube has already apologized that this was a mistake with their platform  and they are doing their best to get this rectified. Though i have not heard any of the victims commenting  that his videos have been restored but seriously you don't need to be scared as there are other streaming platforms that are eagerly waiting for all this crypto users to onboard

People often misuse social media and channels like YouTube for their shady business and scams.
So if YouTube removed any of such videos it was because of protection of users and to protect themselves not to have to deal with different complaints and possible scams. As far as I know many websites do the same. That is not aimed against cryptocurrencies but at protection of users so there is nothing wrong in that. Maybe they also removed some legit content by mistake but I'm sure they'll make it right.

It was a huge effect of banning crypt from using YouTube because YouTube is a large company where it can easily advertise and it can help to spread bitcoin.  Site like bitcointalk was not like YouTube that can easily advertise to promote bitcoin that's why it would be a huge effect from spreading crypto to people.

I think it has a big effect in the community if the cryptocurrency related videos in YouTube was all blocked and banned surely YouTube was a big platform for cryptocurrency and bitcoin to influence a lot of people in the world, and I think with this videos getting banned could affect and prolong the process of cryptocurrency to be implemented in a lot of countries.

But as YouTube already address the issue and called it a mistake for me it was hard to believed, I also created videos in YouTube and most likely if you have original content on your YouTube it will not going to get any copyright issues or any error, But cryptocurrency related videos getting banned or blocked surely YouTube have it already in their thoughts or maybe the YouTube platform is getting a lot of reports from this videos because sometimes they are promoting a scam website or projects. I think YouTube just realize it lately and just announced that it is a mistake. But it was just may theory since YouTube called it like this , I think the issues is already solved and videos should be back online already.

Lets state the facts here as per the statistics 5 billion videos are viewed on a daily basis and the amount of videos in YouTube is really huge and the so called influential videos are viewed by people who are already in the crypto market and it will not make a change in the adoption of crypto in certain countries. The reason for the blockage is not yet known but they have already rectified the issue


It is a fact that the scammers are using their platform to get the maximum reach around crypto investors and i support YouTube if they are able to block all the shit coin projects so that we will be able to get rid of these scammers.

no problem if some big platform ban crypto, because crypto still walk in path. and no need to worry, ot mean they are admit about crypto. its not crypto fault if many scammer show on that channel, it can be good too for cut scammer.

Youtube is one of the highest source of information being in social media. About ban issue among crypto coins ads and videos, it may be a struggle for those who wants to start crypto life over internet, but we should also think that not only youtube can produce such info’s, maybe its time for us to be independent of ads/ videos of crypto’s.

Youtube may be awared of these things and ideas of crypto, there might some thought of youtube avoid endorsing bitcoins/ crypto currencies and be more focus on social issues and events all over the world.

It seems that there is a strong wave against the Crypto market when YouTube has deleted a series of videos related to crypto. Coinbase's Dapp browser on the App Store was removed and Google blocked MetaMask in the Google Play Android app store.

It is already clear that we have confirmed the negation of the entire google company including youtube in banning cryptocurrency. People might have different preferences in looking up to what cryptocurrency could bring, but if it reaches a larger scale, it is a matter of "business" now, their only problem is how to make their attacks clean so they will not lose more supporters to their activities. With this, we could simply make our move to use different platforms for advertising cryptocurrency.

        As per my opinion it really seems like they are banning cryptocurrency advertisements. I think they are only promoting some advertises which is more profitable for them, that is only my conclusion but I think its quiet accurate.

Previously we have seen Google/facebook doing this with the name of client safety from risky investment and now its YouTube turn to do that. YouTube hasn’t banned these contents rather they are restoring crypto contents. It may be that they are just doing a test to see crypto community reaction on this move. Strong criticism from crypto community forced them to restore the contents.
