Title: [Merits Giveaway]2019 in review. A big thanks to many forum users.
Post by: fillippone on December 27, 2019, 08:39:23 AM
2019 is going to end soon.

This thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5211780.msg53416884#msg53416884) from Hhampuz made me realise I had to stop for a moment to review how much it happened during last year, and thank all the users who contributed to the way I walked on the forum this year, each one of them in a different way, according to their specific capabilities and attitudes,

Just compile a good list, with a few words of thanks toward the user.

So I am posting a list of users who helped me during last years, and I encourage you to do the same.

I will pour merits (I won’t precommit like Theymos, but rest assured on this) on everyone who decide do compile the list, and also on the users more mentioned on all the list themselves.

I commit to reinvest every sMerits received in this thread on the final give out.

There are a lot of members I would like to thanks.
This has been my first year active on the forum, and 365 days ago I had 69 merits.

So I am going to take my time and thank a few users who helped me grow in the forum:
  • Babo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=65636) for his  fist forum guidelines and advices.
  • Plutosky (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1237522) for his insightful posts and the endless conversations.
  • Micgoosesens (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1067333) for his cheerful and always positive attitude.
  • LFC_Bitcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=379487) who provided me encouragement to move up with my engagement in the forum.
  • VB1001 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1138727) and LUCKMCFLY (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1153977) whose posts provided me thoughtful moments.
  • LoyceV (http://LoyceV): more than once I used his posting habits and forum behaviour as  guidance for my acting on the forum.
  • Ddmrddmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324): a great user who uses number to separate truth from lies, and who gave the forum his DdmrDdmr BitcoinTalk Merit Dashboard (https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/GlobalSummary), one of the tools I used the most over the last year.
  • o_e_l_e_o (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1188543): I had a few really insightful exchange of views this years and made me even reconsider something I was very certain of: no matter how you think you know something, you can always learn from others.
  • theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35): last but not least. This last November I became Merit Source, I think this is testimony of the effort I put in the forum, and this started a new phase as a forum user, not only contributor, but also promoter of good post quality.

Edit:
A little bit more than 200 merits later:

https://i.imgur.com/tNjrJUf.jpg

Most of them come from my merit source and personal stash, incoming merits have been lower than expected. This thread was about giving, not receiving. The balance is good, could have been better, but who knows, some belated donor might get the wheel spinning fast again.

Also I ranked up quite well on the merit sender chart!

@suchmoon is out of reach, for now!

I referenced DdmrDdnr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324) in Hhampuz's thread. He has been an inspiration to my journey. Out of many also;

Hal (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2436) Finney, he touched lots of people on the forum and by extension off it, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155054.0

Suchmoon (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=234771): An overall level headed guy

LoyceV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459836): Bitcointalk's AI and the one who is the reason why I got motivated to rank up and he merited me more times than other forum members.

HCP (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=867786): Most active member of  Bitcoin Technical Support and helping to resolve newbies and even veterans of technical related queries.

nc50lc (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1237156) : ANother active user of Bitcoin Technical Support and he deserves more merits than what he got at the moment,IMHO.

tranthidung (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1292764): Stats creator of bitcointalk and helped many forum members to get stats related to anything.

DdmrDdmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324): Another forum's AI and helping newbies on B&H with his knowledgeable suggestions.

iasenko (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1291828): One who proved newbie could rank up to legendary when people start blaming about the difficulty of getting merits when the merit system was introduced,it seems still his previous avatar is more famous than others.

OmegaStarScream (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=375981): Active member of service discussion and its child board.

Edit: xhomerx10 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=120694): Amazing person and kind-hearted,one who created my amazing eye-catching avatar just like he did for other hundred users. :)

dbshck (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=153634) One of the best local moderators, and he also ranked second as a member of Most generous merit senders, all time (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendat) with 14281 merit. He has helped many people get promoted to new rank, not only on the local board but also quite actively sending merit on the global board.

LoyceV, tranthidung & DdmrDdmr they are users who have high quality in terms of forum statistics and users, when I need data, so I visit their threads quite often.

There’s a lot of members I’d like to thank for my first really active year here on the forum . I want to pick members who I’ve felt have helped me personally -
frankbitcoin- for guiding me through my first ever buy in collectibles
miner jones and vizique - for their knowledge and level headedness in the collectibles section again.
micgoosens - for being a genuine and informative poster
krogothmanhattan - for spreading his knowledge and introducing forum users to interesting and historical collectibles
hilariousandco- for introducing myself to new forum members via football/ soccer discussions
These are just a few , but I love everyone on the forum who tries to be positive even when it can be very difficult. Thanks

This is also my first active year in the forum although I registered in 2017.

- Last of the V8s we all have a reference user, V8 was the first member of WO to welcome me and helped me a lot in my beginnings in the forum.
- bitserve for advising me from the beginning to learn and improve English.
- JayJuanGee always pending my threads and publications.
- micgoossens for his sympathy and collaboration with everyone.
- xhomerx10 for his work in the hats.
- DdmrDdmr your help in the local section was and remains perfect, apart from that it is a very objective and neutral merit source.

My list would be very long, an important part of LoyceV (txt) list would be necessary to compile my list, I end up thanking all the Wall Observer thread, my Local Section and Bitcointalk, we have a fantastic forum.
(I wanted to say this a long time ago. ;))

- fillippone you have become a very competent merit source, theymos made a right decision with you.

However, I like LoyceV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459836) contribution more. His loyce.club (http://loyce.club/) website is very informative and very useful. I try to follow his posts. Many others have also made many contributions this year. Many thanks to everyone for contributing.

Happy New year all.

Post by: El duderino_ on December 27, 2019, 11:10:36 AM
But damn I’m on my phone so this post can get messy......

First of all it’s gonna be a long list but I have got so many positive moments coming from BTCT for this last year.....

VB1001: remembering his WO entrance pretty well, posted so nice things but as I remember good he had some difficulty in the beginning and thought some WO’s insulted him, what of-course wasn’t so, his help around the WO with knowledgeable post as with fun and HAT history and etc is maybe becoming one of the most reliable WO posters from the last year..... would love to meet this person as well IRL (soft person with a heart for animals, always a win-win kinda person)

Last of the V8’s: From the whole forum absolutely the best man with words and where and when to place them, if you didn’t meet this man IRL then you will never know which kinda character his all about, I do know and for me his a true gentleman I wanna stay connected with as long as possible (previously he helped me with some English, I just don’t know why that has stopped....—-> am I a lost *cause?)

HairyMaclairy: The only one I put my all in live saving on when it comes to TA and charts ... my unicorn....:) a kind person as well, coming very lose after some wines, a person that’s always in for some fun moments

Kurious: One of the persons I met more as ones, broke bread with on several occasions and a man when sitting together I can only listen and learn not try to add something ..... very bright and extremely well structured person, if he plans something then please just follow and it can’t go wrong ...

P_Shep: Very old account but younger looking when I met him .... he’s the perfect person to have on the tip of a boat when punting and makes a lot more noise after a few drinks as when he’s sober :)

Globbo: I don’t know why but I think he’s one of the persons supported me the most and always has my back, he writes in weird sentences but they always fits the topic, I met with him and his fiancé both where very kind to me and invited me for whenever I’m in the country, damn I did lose in a game of pool/biljard..... Never will forgot the first line he said when I saw him.... “I’m clearly over dressed”

Gentlemand: Interesting character that I do loved for winning a game of mine, if he didn’t then I would have been sending to sgbett that’s something no BITCOINER would wanna do, also a guy talk in weird sentences for a non perfect English person ::) but a very kind man I have seen him helping a lot of people, sending papers and stuff

600watt: the person I met with some other WO’s and a person that doesn’t matter to put some effort into traveling, he would do the distances to just meet with some friends, and as we have done, the persons that really had to travel for the first meet not knowing where to end is admirable THX

LFC_bitcoin: Sorry this name has to come in other letters, I could start writing but it will not stop, so gonna keep it short cause everyone knows we are real brothers, I don’t know If there is some one I text more with as with LFC, thanks for supporting me from the start and helping me around, also lucky we both have a GF that likes the other ones GF as well ......

Xhomerx10:Probably one of the most kind persons of heart from the entire forum, if someone needs somekind of help or whatever, xhomerx is always just a few letters away, THX for starting the HAT mania that just has its own place on this amazing forum, there is never been a trend as the HATs that I know of, amazing and I will never forget the help you gave me with the writing of my merit source application!!!

Boblawblaw: Amazing black gay guy just don’t think his from outter space but his like me a big fan of the dude and I think (know) his the first person that gave me merit, I think more as for he appreciated me as a person as it was for knowledge ::) but I did like as a very fresh member how he always was around and gave me some nice talking, also I always like his bob and rick stories, never change your attitude!!!

Filippone: A kind person that creates good threads and overal a positive person, I like the moments when someone as him a determined person on the forum but still a bit fresh comes towards me PM’s me for some words or help/thinking while his better in every part of the forum as myself :D still I think I have helped him even he surely didn’t need my help, he’s one of the newer but reliable WO’s that creates the WO-hand sign

r0ach: For just showing me how not to be

Mitchell: Extremely helpful person, not a WO .... pity I would love to see him there sometimes :) maybe something for later, but for sure one of the best members on the forum that talks Dutch where I can ask help if I need some ....

Minerjones: Thanks for being a so trusted person, I have had some items stored at your place worth more as a few bucks and I never doubt that anything would happen, thanks for being so trustworthy and for inviting me to the Amsterscam meet up where I did meet a lot of fine collectible members And pity I missed you on that meet, sorry I was a bit late

Bitcoinpenny: Same as minerjones thx for being so trustworthy  and helpful, we did have a nice raffle thx for organising as you did....

AT101ET: Gentlemen younger person that I met and helped me out with a RL deal and probably busy on our next one, very very trustworthy

Chronicksky, micromen, minifrij, vizique, actmyname, yogg, Hhampuz and some other collectibles I regret I didn’t mention: But I have met some IRL and played alcohol/card games with no more need to say, just thanks for inviting me in some places and I just have seen where the collectibles group is all about, I think I have never witnessed the charity/generosity as I have seen from you guys especially with the advent stuff :D

Bitserve,d_eddie,jojo69,JJG,lambieslayer,cryptotourist, jimbofromtoronto,elwar,PAASHAAS,JSRAW,Hueristic,sheenshane,nuthilda,LoyceV,biodom,lightfoot,AlcoHoDL,Phil_S,ivomm,ludwigvon,Icygreen,bitconaire ..... just all of you awesome WO’s that are keeping the WO colorful  and a part of BTC history!!!!!

Sorry, have to separated thank theymos as well! I can imagine he’s a guy with tons of PM’s and still he always responded on those I have send him and helped me out, made me a merit source etc THX!!!

Just want to say thanks to krogothmanhattan (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1000199) and his Daily Free Raffle.

This person turned this free raffles as a daily work (dont forget that the coins is send worldwide for free). So far it is given away 431 coins, that means more than a year of daily raffle work  :D

Cant wait for krogothmanhattan to become legendary forum member. I'm sure that this day he/she will create something special for raffle.

I gotta review the journey here. It was great experience for me joining on the forum; otherwise, I couldn't learn wide variety of technical stuffs on bitcoin & cryptocurrencies. I would like to thank everyone who helped me learning all these things.

Let me name the people who have helped me time to time with their experience & knowledge.

bob123- bob is a great member of the forum; always try to help people with his technical knowledge. At the beginning of my forum journey, I have learnt a lot from him. He used to point out my mistake (of course others as well).
BitCryptex- Another great user, helped me a lot when I was learning about Lightning Network.
LoyceV- Cool guy. Share merit everyone who deserve. I have been merited by him numerous times. He is very much helpful to the newbie.
Ddmrddmr- He had handed out the first merit here. Sometimes, it seems he used to hunt good quality post to merit.
TMAN- Very much generous in handing out merit. Gave me 43 once.
theymos- Very much responsive even though he is the lord admin. Once I had to PM him for some reason and he had answered that after 2 days probably (I thought he will never  :D )

And many more including TryNinja; because  ;D
> sees Hhampuz thread;
> not mentioned;
> sees fillipone thread;
> still not mentioned.

RIP TryNinja (2015 - 2019). :'(

Not so much people for me to thank about. These people are genuinely hardworking and I highly appreciated their works, and passion.

Here's the list:

  • yahoo62278 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=355846) - the first manager I've been working with and all of it did go well.
  • cabalism13 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1605387) - on his passion of helping less fortunate people specially kids, he did work with sincerity.
  • crwth (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=914465) - same as cabalism13 which made Bitcointalk Charity Program a successful program.
  • Dabs (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=54791) - though he's not our local moderator anymore but he has been a good listener in our local. And as well to his Feed Some Children (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300631.msg3222843#msg3222843) program though it is quite a long time ago but I still want to thank him for helping those children.
  • Lastly to my friends who introduced me to this forum, highly appreciated pals!

P.S - Might be a lot of people helping out there... so thanks and continue helping those who are in need.

Did you forget someone who has taken us this far to find out about bitcoin and the bitcointalk.org forum?

I think Satoshi really is worth mentioning, because we are here with various ranking, differences of opinion, and because of that we also know something that we have never known before.

Yes, Satoshi Nakamoto

I was inspired by these two great campaign managers...

yahoo62278 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=355846) and Hhampuz (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=881377) - for the huge numbers of their participants but still they could manage it and actually, I'm one of them.

@ LoyceV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459836)- for the trust list reviews
Of course, @theymos - who certainly maintaining the quality of the forum.

A lot of aspiring individuals here but I don't think I should need to mention everyone. They build their good reputation already even they aren't recognized by someone and that is the most important.

2019 was indeed a fruitful year for me and a wake up call to be more active in forum. I'm able to visualize some members here that really contributed to the benefit of the forum.

All Staff moderators clearly did a good job supervising their assigned sections. No need to mentioned their names.

Also, Theymos which really keep this forum neat and clean
and  always do fair judgement in many ways to keep discussion as appropriate as possible.

LoyceV, SuchMoon, The Pharmacist, DdmrDdmr for being nice and always put discussion on the same page and not bias on their opinion. Very worthy mentioning.

Also Tranthidungwho always input some update on the Meta section of useful graphs and statistics.

For tk808 who always there to oversee the Alternate Altcoin Discussion and giving useful info on this section. Also to CryptoprenuerBrainBoss for being active on this section too.

For Hhampuz,  yahoo62278 and CoolCryptovator for providing legit and good bounty campaigns.

And also for Fillippone giving this chance to share his thought on some members who help and contribute a lot on this forum.

Last but not the least Satoshi for being the sole reason why this forum become a good ground for knowledge about bitcoin.

Wow what a wonderful year 2019 has been, i registered on the forum in 2017 and was somehow inactive and when I'm active I wasn't as productive as I'm currently. Late 2018 I encountered my savior so my story on this forum will never be complete without mentioning the almighty LoyceV.

Here's my list;
  • LoyceV, this was the user that turned me from a net negative forum user to who I'm today, he help me get a fresh start and encourage me into contributing positively to the forom
  • suchmoon, he was the user that single handedly ranked me up to full member with been my biggest merit fans, his meriting gave me another reason to improve on myself since the best meriter was keeping an eye on me.
  • Hhampuz, the best campaign manager I have ever worked with, such a great guy. After working with him few days after I turned full member, there hasn't been an open slot that I'm interested in that haven't been mine considering I was quick and qualified for the position. His timing was so perfect that he pays me back them, first thing in the morning (just imagine waking up to a credit alert) that was how he made me feel on every payday morning such a wonderful guy.
  • LFC_Bitcoin, he was the first user that trusted my judgement but now over 9+ users now trust my feedbacks, he included me on his custom trust list, made me a DT member for months without me not knowing until months later which then encourage me to continue hunting down the untrustworthy users on the forum, right now we encounter ourselves regularly on the gambling board and each time, his contributions are always interesting to interact with.
  • My merit fans, i can't mention them all but they're the reason I'm here today (rank-wise). Some assisted me then left me along the way; Jet cash (he hate bold so won't put his name in bold lol), DdmrDdmr, The Pharmacist, Welsh etc i miss your meriting lol although thanks for helping me when i needed you guys the most.
  • tk808, shout out to this guy, he was the reason why I picked interest in the alternative subboard since the board was lacking merit especially as his contributions weren't getting highlighted then I got motivated, applied for source and got appointed. He's such an asset to that particular board.
  • Special shout out to; GOLD_official (current campaign manager for finding value in my posts and always accepting me each time I reapply to promote project. Fillippone, Heisenberg_Hunter & cabalism13, (for been my pals & motivators), DireWolfM14 (1st positive trust giver, thanks for trusting me (A Nigerian) with the loans, Upgrade00 (for always patronizing my currency exchange business (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5200468)), philipma1957 & TMAN (for always coming through for me and thank you for everyone that have assisted me one way or the other on the forum in 2019, thank you merit sources, moderators, spam & scam busters and Theymos/Satoshi. Season greetings to you all.

So we have another chance to thank to the users who have somehow helped in the last year, but what if we could stick not to a list but a whole community? In the end, keeping that pace is what makes us strong, isn't it?

I would name several users in here such as @satoshi (that should be thanked not every year, but everyday), the brazilian community as @Adriano, @Alveus, @alegotardo, @bitmover, @Forsyth Jones, @Loganota, @Lucasgabd, @Mamaecrypto, @Paredao, @sabotag3x, @tg88, @TryNinja, @vit05 and so many others that make our local forum (and lot of external sections) a place for helping and also exchange knowledge - which, in the end, is the purpose of all of this - @theymos for handling this wild jungle (and also giving traction to the merit engine with that bunch os merits at the 10yr art contest ;D) and all the users that I might (and probably) had forgotten who makes this feel like the best place not for BTC only, as originally envisioned, but for an entire new generation. Revolution is just starting and we're all part of its inception (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg53144124#msg53144124) :)

2019 is about to have its curtain call. I've had a great year both inside and outside the forum. But there were several members here who kind of left some special imprint in me. By making this list I am taking the risk of leaving some names behind. My advance apologies for missing some of you.

  • theymos- That 10th anniversary Bitcointalk art contest was really fun and memorable. It brought the childlike artist out of me. By merely thinking of what's creative enough to contribute to the contest killed otherwise mind-numbing hours.
  • Zwei- My very first BTC-paying signature campaign manager. Had several smooth projects with Hhampuz later on.
  • krogothmanhattan, minerjones, Agrawas, chronicsky, BitcoinPenny, etc.- One of my forum regrets is that I lurked in the collectibles section too late. Burned some BTC in the past. I should have spent them on collectibles. I've had great transactions with these guys for my tiny and humble collection.
  • finaleshot2016, Bttzed03, GreatArkansas, crwth, etc.- To all the local guys and gals who kept the section alive and meaningful.
  • mjglqw- His/her posts had prodded me several times to shift to hardware wallet.
  • Piggy, maggiordomo- Notifications through PM is dearly missed. But many thanks to LoyceV for taking over, without whose notification I wouldn't have been led here.
  • Vod- It is sad and unfortunate that bpip.org is gone. I hope it is temporary, though. One of my personal bases in considering whether a forum member is a quality poster worth emulating or not is not the number of merits he/she received but the number of posts he/she makes per deleted one. I don't know where to find such data again.

My gratitude to all of you and to those I missed to mention for making my 2019 great. I hope I have contributed even a little to at least a single member's good year in this forum.

Thanks for mentioning me, your transition from noob to well respected DT member & the 12th highest earning Merit account here has been great to witness.

I like to think I know a good poster & a trustworthy person, it’s been a pleasure interacting with you on a regular basis.

Here’s to more fun & happiness in 2020 as we reach the halving & the price begins to rise before the moon bound mission in probably 2021.

Thanks.

Focusing on the Portuguese local board, we have a lot of users who always add a lot to the cryptocurrency discussion.

@TryNinja, @girino and @cryptobaboon who have above average technical knowledge.

@Paredao that plays the role of being the user who motivates people to use their Bitcoins.

@alegotardo who always tries to do something different for the Portuguese board community. (giveways, bounties management).

@bitmover which is our merit source and also always has some differentiated knowledge to contribute.

@Pumared and @tg88 that are always present in our discussions.

A reminder to @sabotag3x who decided to leave the forum but has helped many people.

And a special reminder to @schiavonxv who left us a year ago but left his legacy in the Brazilian cryptocurrency scene.

Well, I have highlighted the impressive intellect capacity of: DdmrDdmr, fillippone, JayJuanGee. (Great people and open books)

It is very important to highlight in the same way all those who always live in WO, micgoossens, infofront, vapourminer, Last of the V8s, xhomerx10, mindrust and excuse those I do not name, there are many, I really see the opinions they have of Bitcoin and in the market, the enrichment of knowledge by what they contribute is impressive.

In the Spanish forum, whose level is really increasing, I have seen a greater participation of users who did not think they were Spanish-speaking or who dominated Spanish, the contributions are of a golden level.

It is to admire how LoyceV, Suchmoon, Dark_Star move like a fish in the water inside the forum, regardless of language.

TMAN, a great person, personally helped me to ascend to my rank of Hero Member, in addition to his contributions being high level.

Hhampuz and yahoo62278 Great professionalism in their management as campaign managers, really the ability they have to read the publications of each user and classify them to maintain an acceptable level is an impressive job.

It is very nice that Fillippone is a source of merit, theymos are a person who takes into account what the community says, excellent what it does, worthy of admiration.

It is my honor to be named here six times by the others. Thank you all.

I am thankful to the following users:
  • LoyceV: of course. He is the first one I have to mention here. He gave me his hand with data dump on daily and weekly merits (after I asked him repeatedly. Maybe for very first times, he did not think I was seriously about that. From his data, I made some efforts and ranked up to Full member rank. Then, a little bit less than one year, I have collected enough merits to become a Legendary member.  Moreover, he made so many replies that help me to learn a lot of things.
  • Hhampuz: I joined his campaigns, all things go smoothly (from post check, feedbacks, supports, and payments).
  • TMAN: who gave me lots of merits without any request from me. Sometimes, he made me shocked with his merit dumps.
  • DdmrDdmr: He gave me some insightful advice and informative clarifications on data, and data retrieval. He is very helpful, not only for me, but also for the general community in the forum.
  • wwzsocki: I have some discussion with him, and he is definitely a kindful man.
  • fillippone: He motivated me a lot to achieve what I have today. You know what? When I ranked up to Senior Member, he was still a Full member but two or three months later, he moved fastly to Hero member (in terms of total merits) and he somewhat give me strength to not give up and fight for my next rank. Now, I am at the highest rank of the forum (in rank and in merit-earning club)
  • nc50lc: He made so many high-quality and helpful in Bitcoin Technical support, from which I learned a lot of thing.
  • Welsh: he is the moderator that I have most frequently discussions in the forum (in topics, not in PMs), and I learned from him too.
  • iasenko: I followed him in 2018, very early months after the merit system kicked off. He and me created account nearly in the same period so I admired him so much on what he achieved. From my follow-up process aims at iasenko, I understood that merit system does not ruin my life.  8)
  • Admin, moderators, and the others who are legit members and help the forum has sustainably grown

By the way, I wish a happy new year to all!

P/S:
Please don't make my prediction becomes true  :D
I predict that there will be more increases for 2019w51 (with the coming Friday-data dump), when more sMerits refilled and effects from the Christmas and New year!

And a special reminder to @schiavonxv who left us a year ago but left his legacy in the Brazilian cryptocurrency scene.

Great post Loganota.

schiavonxv was  very popular in Brazil. He was co-founder of one of the biggest and oldest exchange in Brazil. He passed away very young, in a car accident a year ago.

I didn’t know his story. Very interesting yet sad.

This is why I created this thread: to celebrate the main asset of this forum: the users.
(This is also that I tried to do in my art contest... but hope to have more success here).

Hhampuz and yahoo62278, Best bounty managers until now
Yep, they're definitely good ones.

I'd like to give a huge thank you to DarkStar_ for managing the Chipmixer campaign like a freakin' boss, which he has consistently done and continues to do.  It's amazing how consistent he is, and I think he doesn't get the props he deserves because he doesn't manage a lot of campaigns like Yahoo62278 and Hhampuz do.  There aren't many campaign managers left that I can see--it seems like there used to be a lot more of them, but the ones that are left are very good.

Edit:  I don't need any merits here, I just wanted to publicly thank DarkStar_.

I’d like to thank everybody on bitcointalk.org

I love this forum, I found it in 2015 & have learnt so much from so many people. I learnt which wallet to use, how to secure my coins, where to buy them from.

Special mentions to -

achow101 - Technical expert, helped me out a few times with bitcoin core wallet issues
hilarious&co - Good mod & runs our gambling pool
WO posters - too many to mention but cool guys who bring a lot of fun to a techie place

Happy NY friends.

I would also like to thank  CryptopreneurBrainboss (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1052091) He has been a inspiration to me this year on the forum following his rise to the top.

LoL I have to thank someone who supports me and contributed a lot to my account.
but that doesn't matter because the more I say thank you, the more and I hope they read it.
the first person to have many contributions to my account is:
  • tk808 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=180477) nice man who gives merit to forum members who have quality posts, you are amazing.
  • dbshck (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=153634) is a member who is a source of merit for the Indonesian sub forum.
  • DdmrDdmr (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1582324) I mentioned him again, because the Merit Dashboard that was developed was extraordinary, helping to provide bitcointalk data well.
  • Welsh (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=84521) staff bitcointalk who bought my engraving at a reasonable price. thank you brother
  • Coolcryptovator (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1980983) bounty is a professional manager and I am allowed to adopt the thread that he created for remake in my language.
  • roycilik (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1051955) friends from the Indonesian sub forum who have many contributions.

Then there are 2 people who want me mention it too, because they responded to me on Hhampuz's post yesterday.
  • cabalism13 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1605387), hey LOL man here finally I put your name. I thank you because you care about me LOL #MeritBrokeMyLife
😂 😂
  • fillippone (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1852120) hey man many use your comment template on this thread LOL and I also use it. Big thanks for your contribution.

And to #Lauda: for his directive and informative posts.
#Coyster: for correcting my ignorant initial thoughts on the forum and leading me right.
And thanks #nrd525: for getting me to love reading threads on the forum and spending quality time here and in doing so learn new things.
Finally thanks #Fillipone: for such a wonderful way of wishing us a happy new year in advance.
I wish we all would at least make it to have splendid time together and get to know each other more. #One Love.

Huge thank you to the admins for bringing up this forum.

Hal Finney - This man has left a legacy which will never be forgotten.

theymos - for allowing freedom of speech. Compared to Bitcoin reddit it is a godsend to read this forum as it does not moderate as harshly.

DdmrDdmr - You have provided us with the most in depth statistics available on the forum and have always posted great posts. Its a pleasure to have you in the community.

There are the others: o_e_l_e_o, bitmover, mjglqw, who responsed to my question in my first topic. They helped me and gave me a belief that the forum is a good one to stay with.

I am only an observer on the Forum I like to learn in it. I would like to spend more time but sometimes it is not possible. Because I only have a few hours to dedicate.

I admire Theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35) At some point I thought he was the same Satoshi Nakamoto. Theymos is a great administrator. 8)

Jet Cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698159) He is like those professors that you find in the University teaching with the maximum interest that their students learn.

Vod (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30747) I like for all his activities are straight to the point and his reply helps a lot.  :)

yura04071989 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1112979) He is the best bounty manager I have ever had.

JayJuanGee (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=252510) Recently gave me 1 merit.

Thank you!

His thinking is enriching. I am sure that I will be following his activities a little more to continue learning. A part of me tells me that this is true what he preaches: How much alt coin diversification is needed? 0%?

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! 2020 Looks Bright!  ;)

I mainly attend the Italian section so I know almost only the users who write there.
Among the people who constantly make a contribution in that section, I definitely want to mention:

babo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=65636): as already said by Fillipppone is a person who cares about honesty and is a tireless scammer hunter

fillippone (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1852120) : that constantly spurs us to create interesting posts and since he became MS he has helped keep the section alive by circulating the merits (thanks fillippone)

Micio (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=115423): who for a long time ago and in a silent way has been making merit: sorry if I insist on this point but merits are an important form of recognition for the writer

Plutosky (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1237522)  and Paolo.Demidov (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1422438) : because there is always a lot to learn from their posts even in the financial field

arulbero (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=170072), gbianchi (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=140582) , marioantonini (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=326035)  : they too always make interesting interventions

and in general many others who write daily in the Italian section and are people with whom it is nice to exchange opinions and - therefore - learn.
Thanks to all of them.

I do not "get lost" in thanking theymos and the old people of the forum but it is clear that without them all this would not exist: thanks and keep it up!

Since I read a fair share here, and came here around the time the Merit System was set in place, one way to list profile names to be thankful to, one way or another, would be to display the names of those that I’ve merited (which means I have certainly read their posts and found some interest in them):

Although specifically I’d like to thank those that roam around my local board (Spanish), be it as a habit or a sparse contribution. I’m still in awe that it is ridiculously small in terms of activity (number of posters and posts) for the potential and extent of the language, but pretty certain the board would have no attraction whatsoever if it wasn’t for their contributions to it, keeping the engine running for when we need to drive off in .. first gear (for starters, let’s be humble in objectives) …

There are lots of people that we can mention here that did very good job making this forum a better place like busting scammers and more. Each person have their own skills that is very handy like DdmrDdmr's Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4428616.0) which i'm sure it will take time to finish this analysis. CryptopreneurBrainboss (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1052091) - generous merit sender and doing some service to fellow bitcoiner and other helpful stuff. Tranthidung - making people inspired and motivated and . Theyoungmillionaire help me gain knowledge and provide me guidance even though he didn't know me in person. Thank you all and also those who aren't mentioned by me. Thanks to those who manage this forum and also to Satoshi Nakamoto.

Satoshi, Hal, sirius, Theymos and others which works/ed hard for the community.
EFS: hard working moderator, s/he helped me when i was a newbie.
LoyceV: For great and important datas.
Julerz12: one of the best bounty managers, s/he always checked spreadsheets well and s/he fights cheaters.
Arteezy.rtx: another very good bounty manager.

Special thanks to Turkish local members. I'd love to making more friends on global forum but my english level is not very good for writing and its hard for me. But i can understand, so i'm only a reader for general forums. İs it ironic ? No, its general problem of our education system.

I slowed down my cheater detection activity after I had been promised 2 small payments to find scammers, obviously never paid since that time, I almost stopped.
Let's see if with the new year I feel like to "reopen the activity".

Goodbye 2019 and I wish for a better 2020.

It's the year of the 10th anniversary of Bitcointalk.org, and coming up to the new year. Therefore, you get the limited edition of soppy Welsh here. Although, its always awkward doing these as I couldn't possibly thank everyone of the forum. Therefore, I present you with the blanket statement of; First of all thanks to everyone that is part of the forum, you've made this place something special, and will always be remembered in Bitcoin history. In all seriousness, I do thank everyone for being part of this great community, and making it what it is today.

However, I do have some users that I'd like to mention that were significant community figures that I've either respected, frequently enjoyed reading their posts, or had an impact on me throughout my journey.

  • Vod, and Tomatocage were the figures that I looked up to when I joined the forum. They were the most prominent figures fighting scams not for merit or for trust, but for the community. Both have had a significant part of the community outside of their scam busting abilities, and have provided the BPIP project, and the staked address thread respectfully.
  • DannyHamilton is another user that I followed during my early days on the forum. Danny was posting some of the highest quality content back then, and still is to this day. While also providing a good role model for merit source distribution, and providing a public policy of how they distribute merit.
  • SaltySpittoon this is the moderator at the time that I looked up too. Provided excellent information in their posts, and was a superb moderator. I probably annoyed Salty in the early days as I messaged them a few times about the rules of the forums, and how best to report posts. I owe a lot of my early knowledge of the forum to Salty. Hence why I included them in my  poem (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193860.msg53119314#msg53119314).
  • Badbear the big bad global moderator at the time that you shouldn't piss off. Again, provided great insight to forum rules, and seemed to be a pretty level headed member of staff most of the time.
  • DeathAndTaxes despite the recent accusations which is a real shame. DeathAndTaxes provided some of the best quality Bitcoin posts in this forum. Most of his posts were interesting, and I found myself reading until late at night when I was newer to the forum.
  • hilarious&co I remember Hilarious&co taking the forum by storm, and seemed to explode onto the scene with their high amount of posts everyday. They were good posts though, and Hilarious established themselves among the community as a user with a very high work ethic who has been a global moderator for quite some time.
  • DdmrDdmr is another user who seemed to burst onto the scene with his highly valuable data, and insightful posts. While reading the Spanish section as a educational aid as I learn Spanish I've come across their excellent language skills in Spanish, and that has definitely made the process of learning a new language more bearable with reading discussion I'm actually interested in.
  • o_e_l_e_o Hasn't stopped providing great information to newbies, and answering technical questions on Bitcoin. Definitely, one of the better posters here on the forum, and you could probably spend a night or two reading some of their informative posts.
  • JetCash has been trying to help the community in many different ways, and although I might not agree with their stance on everything you can't argue that they put an incredible effort in their posts. Probably seen as the grandfather of the forum looking out for newbies, and always trying to ignite some inspiration for discussion.
  • LoyceV has always been an exceptional user of the community, but they've recently been unleashing informative data on the forum only rivaled by a few users. Also, provided me with the drawing that their daughter did well wrapped in a "huggies" if I recall diaper box. Will always appreciate that.
  • suchmoon exceptional user of the forum, and provides a laugh or two in between very good quality posts. Also, has helped the forum in more ways than one.
  • Cyrus for being the silent ninja that you are, and personally thanking me for reporting posts. Also, for the work that you do behind the scenes in account recovery along with the rest of your team.
  • Hal Finney has truly cemented himself in not only forum history for one of the most hear wrenching stories, but also one of the most heartwarming histories in computer science. Hal Finney is an inspiration to many.
  • Mitchell also another staff member that provided great informative posts, and some noteworthy threads in their history. Also, has the bot that watches our forum, and prevents bots from running havoc. Also, likes to beat me at auctions.
  • mprep Someone who I've also picked their brains about forum rules. However, in the early day I've always respected them for managing the near impossible moderation of the altcoin sections....look how that turned out ;)
  • Gmaxwell obviously, has fantastic knowledge about Bitcoin, and generally has very good advice to share. I could probably go through their post history, and merit more than 50% of it. An exceptional user of the forum, and an asset to Bitcoin.
  • Grue lurks in the dark, and you probably shouldn't piss them off. Again, someone who I remember reading a lot of their posts, and enjoying it.
  • Gavin Andersen has a lot of history in this forum, and Bitcoin. Although, many consider his involvement controversial I've always enjoyed reading his blogs, and posts on the forum. I believe Gavin to be an important part of Bitcoin's history.
  • jgarzik obviously a Bitcoin core developer, but has also had some exceptional discussions here on the forum. Jgarzik has a lot of history within Bitcoin, and the forum.

I think its worth noting theymos, Cobra, and Sirius for looking after the forum in one way or another over the years. You guys have done a fantastic job so far. As well as all the staff members, as they truly put in some incredible work. As well as all the active users looking out for the community spotting scams, and calling projects out. As well as all the merit sources which actively look to reward high quality users, and keep the cogs spinning. We've got an amazing community here.

Satoshi for creating this great forum
Admin, staff and moderators especially mprep who listened to a lot of my prayers(reports) on the Bounties board and Theymos who chose me as one of the BTC winners in the art contest.
And finally, the scammer catchers who took the time to expose the cunning and warn us about attempted fraud. They saved many people's assets.

Fillippone, Heisenberg_Hunter & cabalism13, (for been my pals & motivators)
And I still remember you being in 150 merits and how you really became knowledgeable in the forum over the period of one year.

Its been 10 years since this forum was created and right from the beginning of my registration I admired many of the old accounts in this forum and how good they were in their knowledge, forum aspects etc. Some made me to realize how generous one could be in an online forum and some had special mentions in my book of records. I had never ventured into collectibles space last year but somehow made into it this year at the start and that was one such thing which will be remembered forever whenever I visit this forum.

BitcoinPenny - The first person on this forum I have traded with and have sent my money first before receiving goods. Their piece of collectible coins were outstanding, beautiful and that made me to buy more and more collectible stuffs. They have taught me how generous one should be when it comes to this forum and they have proved the same by giving away some coins designed specially for a forum member who was dead.

erikalui - They have helped me in bringing out fake translators and with their help our whole local board is back from being dead. The board has regained the state of sensible discussions and has become one of the better local boards without a moderator!

chronicsky - Another collector from whom I have learned a lot regarding collectibles and other stuffs related to bitcoin in general. They have always encouraged me in bringing out new initiatives to the local board from behind the scenes. These were really important in paving a better local community.

micgoossens - Very generous and the one who helped us in upliftment of our local board by donating funds.

krogothmanhattan - One who introduces collectibles in the form of daily raffles to newbies...  :D

Each and every Technical Support board poster - Without them, the very purpose of this forum would become meaningless. satoshi created this forum to discuss about bitcoin and to help newbie users if they have any problem in using bitcoin. This forum was not created for online political fights/scamming for bitcoin etc. I would always be thankful for them and I am honored to be a minor part in the Technical Support board (not so recently).

98 merit sources and generous merit givers - Without you people, we can never distinguish good posters from shitposters and good posts from bad posts.

All scam hunters and DT members - Since the forum is related to money, DT members and scam hunters are the ones who act as the police and prevent people from losing money for scams.

Lastly theymos and Cirius - While the latter is a silent Ninja working behind the scenes, theymos is the one who keeps running the forum smoothly for all these years.

This community has got so much of worthy users to mention (LoyceV, o_e_l_e_o, Ddmrddmr, fillippone, suchmoon, welsh, nullius, mickeywith, steamtyme,The Pharmacist, Jet Cash, TMAN, hilariousandco, mprep, Mr. Big, minerjones, brainboss etc etc) and a single post isn't sufficient!

Happy Holidays and have a great year ahead!

although at this time I was only a silent reader for a very long time I saw the development of the forum to be better, all of that would not be easy to do but by working together everything would be able and easy to do,

very grateful to the supervisors of this forum such as LoyceV, suchmoon, o_e_l_e_o, YOSHIE who have tried hard to make the forum better.

of course theymos as the role of the Administrator and other staff that complement each other so that the bitcointalk forum can survive and prosper until now, 10 years is not a short life because what I know is difficult to make forums still remain active like this.

It's far too Miss World to name names. Each and every one of you will be at the receiving end of my very personal attention some dark day.

I would like to throw kudos at the moderators of each section and many a campaign manager too. I have no real conception of what madness is swilling under the surface here but I can imagine it's a hurricane down there and this place would be intolerable without their attention.

Perhaps along the lines of Proof of Keys one day a year should be totally hands off here to show us what true horror looks like.

Nothing special, but I think you should be the compliment in this topic, fillippone. Over the course of 7 pages, you're the one giving away the most number of merits, so it's no problem if I give you a compliment  ;) Thanks for your hard work  ;)

And of course special thanks to Satoshi, no one can replace him though I still don't know who he really is  :D

I will view this topic as a place of honor. I really admire you, with only one year of running at this forum, you have a huge amount of merit, that's what most people in this forum want. So, I honor you as a hardworking person of this forum and thank you for your dedication, fillippone.

In addition, I would like to honor yahoo62278, because of his intelligence in handling problems. I just came back to this forum after a long time of inactivity, so I don't know many people to pay tribute, but the way he handled the Yobit incident impressed me, I think he should be respected.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who was actively working in this forum. And happy new year everyone!  ;D ;D :P :P

First don't merit me, give those merit to the guy posting after my post who has a way up to go. I already reached the top, just waiting for that day to get Legendary under my nick :)

So I want to thank Satoshi for bringing us all together here . Also big thanks to Theymos, for keeping this place in order somehow.
There are too many good people here to list them all, no need.
This is an amazing place and I'm happy to be able to help with what I can to make this forum even better.

Happy Holiday to everyone! (even to the spammers, I'll get you next year.. for sure)

First don't merit me
<...>

I gave 2merit to each post on this thread, so 1 smerit has been granted. Now you can merit yourself who you think deserves it. The merits keep circulating.
I know you specifically  don’t need it, but I think I gave you the idea of why I am doing that.

Well, not every posts, guy  :D

lol  :D I understand that merits should be circulated, but I can't even reward someone when I find that he deserves it.
Quote
You have 0 sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people
 :D

Edit: Can you show me how to get avatar like you, the hat is really beautiful, I really want my cat to be on that hat  :D

There's a lot of people I wanted to give thanks here.

First of all @theyoungmillionaire and @DdmrDdmr for inspiring and motivating me to grind and explore this community and the whole world of cryptocurrency.

My fellow mates in local, @asu, @cabalism13, @crwth and the others, thanks for helping our local community and gave your best to give on others. I also wanted to congratulate @cabalism13 for having a successful charity again this December. I wanted to greet also my new fellow mates in local, you're too many to mention, I hope you continue your journey and keep making the best for our community. Also my fellow DTs in our section! Good job!

@kroghotmanhattan for being generous on giving free tokens, I received my first BTC token from him this year, thanks a lot!

@yahoo62278, this is the best CM I ever had and I learned a lot from him, his actions towards me really changed me and makes me avoid those mistakes that shouldn't be done again.

@Hhampuz for being a good CM too, thanks for accepting me in some sig camps that I've joined even though there are many worthy users out there than me.

@theymos, for meriting my entry in the art contest, I know that he appreciated my work even though I didn't make it to the final entries. Thank you!

For those people, I forgot to mention that it is part of my 2019, thanks to you! Advanced Happy new year and hoping to have a better life this upcoming 2020! Good luck to everyone!  :D

The year 2019 was a great year for me being here in the forum and a year that I have come to realize that the people you know and see what they do will definitely determine how it will be easy for you to achieve your goals in life. In the race of life, we come in contact with different personalities and our ratings about their character and charisma can never be the same, it's all about perception but for people like; @Satoshi, @theymos, @hilariousandco, @Cyrus, @LoyceV, @thefiniteidiea, @Lauda, @Suchmoon, @Hhampus,  @OgNasty, @BADecker, @yahoo62278, @Idrisu ( who introduced me here) and @fillippone (for the opportunity to recognize the above mentioned names) their identity are unique; an eloquent orator gifted to mankind that have continued to leave indelible mark of positivity on the sand of time.
