Title: Two questions related to Forum's history
Post by: Rengga Jati on December 27, 2019, 02:30:53 PM
Today I was trying to find out the answers to some questions related to Meta. I found most of the answers, but there were two remaining questions that I still didn't get the answers. Does anyone know the answers to these questions below? Really want to know about them, those are certainly part of the history of this forum.

1. Who are the first 10 members registered in bitcointalk forum? Are some/all of them still active until now?
2. What post (thread/reply) got Merit for the first time? Please enclose the link as proof.

*Those questions might be considered unnecessary for some people but for me, it is quite important to know. Thanks in advance for your help.  :)

Come to think of it, I wonder why was the Members page disabled. Or else you could have your first question answered.

You can check it by user id profile;u=
1. First Bitcointalk profile is admin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1
2nd user doesn't exist anymore,
3rd is satoshi https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3
4th sirius https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4
5th doesn't exist anymore
6th nandnor https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=6
7th, 8th and 9th doesn't exist anymore.
10th Xunie  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=10
As you can see, none of earliest Bitcointalk users isn't anymore, some of them accounts were deleted. Only Xunie had signed in in 2019.
2. I'm lazy to check merit ttranactions on mobile, but I'm almost sure that this theymos post got merit first:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0. But I don't know who is first merit sender.

Yes. The page was disabled. Cannot get anything there.

You can check it by user id profile;u=
1. First Bitcointalk profile is admin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1
-snip-
Nice answer, buddy. It seems my first question got the answer clearly enough.
By the way, how do you know those profiles are the first one to the 10th one? Check each profile manually?

Okay. It makes sense but yes the sender is still questionable? Or the first merit sender is theymos as well since he is the first merit source.

Yes, I checked each profile manually. I used https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u= link and just added number, for example 1 in the end.
And I see that @tranthidung already have answer about first merit sender and it was theymos. He had to check it to be sure that it works :D. He was first merit source, but also most of us had some sMerit back then from airdrop.

Thank you mate for the information. Yeah, as I guess, the first merit sender is theymos as well.

-snip- the first merit sender is theymos as well since he is the first merit source.

Now, with your information above, everything makes sense and clearly enough. Thank you so much for your help.  :)

You should lock your thread when everything was solved.

Were the first users of the forum transferred from some other forum or messaging service?  Were all the posts transferred over as well?

I don't think the users were transferred, they create new accounts here when the forum was shifted to SMF as even Satoshi and Sirus have a registation date.

Satoshi posted about transferring some posts here from the old forum in his first thread here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0).
Quote
I'll repost some selected threads here and add updated answers to questions where I can

But don't think any of them were transferred here at all.

Sure. Don't worry, I always did it.  ;)

Thank you for your help to respond to the comment above. I assume he is already satisfied with your answer.  :)

Now, I will lock this thread since everything is clear. If I have other issues related to Forum's history in the future, I will open (unlock) again this thread.
Thanks guys..
