Recently seen,
YouTube has started deleting videos of many users who speak on crypto either testimonial or introduction videos.
Many complaints about YouTube is deleting videos without giving any notice. giving shadow ban on videos.
For every action, google send notice, but this time without notice , google taking action on crypto based YouTube videos.

It's all over the news and they've taken responsibility for this wrongful act. Not all videos were retrieved, it's still on the process though. By the way, we've got many topics already created for this topic like this one (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212934.0) and for the others just look over them on the forum.

I have seen a number of news and thread reports on this forum about the removal of crypto videos on YouTube. Maybe it's because of the rampant fraud or ponzi schemes that occur a lot in videos uploaded on YouTube and that makes YouTube furious so delete without notice.
If this is done for a lot of scamer reports, then I'm fine and agree.

The warning on most of the videos and channels in my native language has been removed and there hasn't been any improvement on the ban. I think Youtube has stepped back on this.

Yaps, I agree with your opinion. Any platform must hate scammers, and this must be taken seriously. Google, Facebook, and even YouTube are currently carrying out such acts only for the convenience of users and too many complaints from users due to being caught in a victim of fraud in the scope of crypto. And I think it should filter or not do something sad like this. I've also seen scam project advertisements on YouTube on video content about crypto. And I want to ask, why is the crypto related video deleted by YouTube without clear notice?

We call this hype, we are united to hype this Youtube action, because it harms the community, let's admit it majority of us here are followers of influencers, especially Youtube influencers and it will hurt us if we see videos that we used to watched and recommended are deleted without notification why it was deleted, they are now restoring it and hopefully those who follows guidelines will get their videos restored.

I think youtube did not do that because all we know that bigtime institution like youtube have a huge pride and ego so once they give a decision it is already final and I already checked to search old video about crypto specially about trading it is already deleted on site. So I think it is a fake news.

Yes, they have apologised and started restoring all the videos of content creators for now. The claimed it was an algorithmic error which caused this situation. For now they restored it after an outrage on twitter but, I do not think they will do it in the future. Content creators and viewers of those channels should move out of YouTube.

Not yet done. There were some videos that were restored though. It is nice to hear Youtube apologize for it. For sure there were a lot of people who wondered why their videos were suddenly taken out without prior notice. But I think what happened was not totally an error. There must be a reason for that intentional action. But they realized later on that it was not the right thing to do.

This action was taken by YouTube as a preventive measure so that not many scammers promote their projects so far that victims will not be there anymore. If scamming continues on YouTube as a means, it is certain that YouTube will suffer losses too, especially its prestige. I strongly support this youtube action once because it is to limit the space for the fraudsters. But the impact is even too general. I hope that there will be a YouTube replacement website devoted to the promotion of crypto videos.

I read that there spokeperson said that they admitted their mistakes and will restore everything. But so far, if you go to tweeter world, lots of complains about Youtube and says that there channels or accounts is still block so I don't know who's telling the truth. But I will side with Youtubers here, this supposedly spokeperson has no name, look at their official channel and there are no mention whatsoever. So I guess crypto individuals who uses Youtube as their platform should look for a better blockchain based alternatives.

@fortunecrypto - don't believed everything you read specially crypto related sites, they're just clickbait. If they can point us to a link from an official Youtube statement then I might believed them.

The worse part here is those who listen to fud easily. Yes YouTube is very famous ground to upload certain crypto related info but some of those are abusing their platform. I just dont know those videos created from a campaign would be considered as violations.

But some videos were restored so I guess this is just a false alarm on their cases. Its also not right to delete unless there are some rules of YouTube has been violated.

do you have a crypto related YouTube channel what kind of videos you share like , crypto promotions or crypto education , there are many education content i dont think that you tube will delete educational content 

If I look at the tweets and retweets made by crypto youtubers on their twitter accounts, saying that their videos have returned to the public, but in another article that crypto-related content was not fully restored. Apart from this incident, can a decentralized video platform be the solution in the future?

Not many users' videos got deleted, only a few. Which is very normal, any regular YouTuber knows it that sometimes youtube deletes video mistakenly and they gave those back when they notice! Youtube replied on twitter that the recent crypto video was deleted mistakenly, and which is already fixed. So, relax and support youtube for larger benefits in crypto!

Didn't hear anyone saying that youtube started restoring their video but yeah, I was expecting this to happen. Since no one was notified about their videos getting removed and the reason behind those bans, i guess it was  a faulty algorithm that started flagging those videos by mistake. If that's the case, then yeah YouTube will revert those mistakes.

But it is very unlikely for a banned account to be restored again unless they make an appeal and proven did not violate their TOS.

Some videos are simply violating youtube's newest ToS and are deleted without notice because youtube has the right to do so and is mentioned on their term of service. it's unfortunate indeed but there's nothing we can do.
it's not because of youtube is furious or something but they are trying to enforce their updated rules and TOS as it happen majority of crypto videos which most of them are just promoting something shady being taken down.

Well to bad looks like YouTube are now enforcing what they should have done a log way before. Most of the videos from crypto are quite shady and they dont want to get involve in such mess. We all know how hot cryptocurrency is nowadays and a famous video site like this could be affected and got turn down. Well I hope YouTube is not playing politics here r got paid by someone to create fud.

I rarely make videos about cryptocurrency, so I really don't know about this problem, even though I am a very active YouTube user, and before being recovered by YouTube, is your video permanently claimed?

This is a great news for crypto world. Youtube is an effective platform to spread awareness about Crypto and I think restoring of crypto videos is an indication that they are now open for what is offered by Cryptocurrency for our future.

not too much thought, crypto is not only YouTube and the most effective promotion is not from YouTube. there are still many social media that are very good for promoting crypto and they don't prohibit writing articles, including this forum is the most effective forum for crypto promotion. so I suggest it doesn't need to be discussed again and forget about youtube, we have to keep going.

I do not know motives behind the act of deleting crypto-related videos and why the move has been corrected. What I know is that cryptocurrency has been widely adopted and supported by the people. As a result of this support, YouTube has corrected its move by retrieving the deleted videos. 

I have seen a similar topic and try to make sure myself related to the video, I think this is a wise decision by a prestigious institution like YouTube. In the future, let's see if YouTube will be a crypto-friendly platform or not, hopefully no one is abusing this for bad things.

That article gave me the idea that Google is not that supportive of cryptocurrency and blocked certain cryptocurrency-related ads from their website. I do think they meant to do the "Crypto Purge" but didn't expect this kind of backlash that is given by the users, especially the big channels who were affected.

I have seen the news as well. They mentioned it as their mistake. But howcome one can make such mistakes especially company like youtube? What is the reason they are giving?

It is awful that many videos related to talking about crypto have been deleted on YouTube platform because it is one of the medium being used by the project producers to make a clarify explanation on how their project run and works. It is surely a shocking reaction for the whole crypto community specially those users that have posted those videos for the action done by YouTube. But since YouTube admitted that they have just mistakenly deleted those videos, it is momentarily understandable. It is just that it is really surprising that those have been deleted without prior notice through email notification so that the user have done some action regarding it. Hope that this accident will not happen once again and if so YouTube will delete again crypto related videos, it should be on purpose to lessen the spread of scam projects but that still must be done on a step by step basis including notifying the user to take an action into the matter of deletion.

I have a series of videos that generally speak of bitcoin - without doing any kind of promotion - and none of them have been canceled.
I think those banned proposed the usual scams, I don't think there is an ongoing campaign against crypto like two years ago. But I keep it under control.

It's not their fault. remember so many parties have already stated if they were contradicted with the existence of cryptocurrency. it's normal to see if some people are still seeing it negative. Just try to spread more awareness about that is much better. Remember about massive ban for crypto in the past and that has brouhgt a lot of conflicts to the crypto supporters.
As long as youtube has already made an announcement about that and it's fine and just waiting for the crypto related content will be restored again.

Some videos have been returned by Youtube, there is nothing to discuss anymore because there are already too many topics like this.
Moreover, there are some videos that violate the rules of Youtube, so it is natural to happen and we must respect what Youtube has done to avoid less good content.
Youtube has also provided information that they have a technical error regarding the removal of cryptocurrency videos which are more and more widely discussed in this forum.

YouTube was deleting videos since December 23, and after removing videos from crypto-based channels and getting strikes of community guidelines, many YouTubers appeal and their channels back, as YouTube also telling this was an error in flag system but maybe the failure of flag system or crackdown against cryptocurrency due to launching own financial system APP.

Yeah, that's true and i think they have apoligized for this unfortuate circumstane that happened with people's a vidoes being taken online. Just to get you guys to stay calm, if ever gets to the poin where Youtube may decide not to allow crypto related contents on its platform

Since it becomes a topic in crypto and people starts questioning, I think YouTube have seen it and reviewed what they did. I've seen an article saying that youtube already apologized for the mistake. And since they admitted it, of course they have to restore those video because it's their fault. If other videos won't be restored after the coming days, maybe it's because they really violated some terms and conditions on YouTube.

Yes I saw a lot of news regarding this youtube restoring crypto videos. I think they are finally seeing a potential in bitcoin since as far as I know google banned crypto related ads. I think they might bring it back? What do you think people? Are crypto ads will be flashed in google platforms again?

That is a good decision of them if they restoring those videos they deleted, not only crypto were affected here also those video makers who did not earn any bucks just because of this policy. However, that is good news that they will restore now. Hopefully, it will back to normal even though they will filter those videos that obviously for the Ponzi scheme and self-interest.

They seemed right but the right action isn't their responsibility. Maybe YouTube just wanted to offer a help by removing crypto currency related videos however it wasn't right in crypto enthusiast side as it closes the door for the opportunity to be discovered and be adopted by someone. Neither was right, and in addition they admitted themselves and they are taking care of what did happened by restoring all videos. So there is nothing more to rant about.

The subject of cryptocurrencies became a great tend on YouTube. And it's unfortunate to see how small mistake of scam accusation can affect almost all of the channels on the site that is about cryptocurrencies. Hopefully, things can work out soon and the site could really filter out which channel is legit and which is a scam. YouTube is a very influential platform so we all hope that it can succeed in implementing its rules to keep things run smoothly not only in the site but also in the crypto industry.

thats odd if they wont give any notice  . its sad because creating those videos were not easy but youtube just deletes them pretty easy   . that okay if they restore what they remove but i think they will only restore that ones that got accidentally deleted and not the one's that is illegal or against thier tos  . people are still going to be angry with youtube now after this incidents  and i heard that people are now looking for a solution like a decentralized video sharing platform  that will fit perfectly for crypto content  .

It is true that the YouTube are starting to restore those videos that they deleted in relation to the Cryptocurrency. It is okay that the YouTube sometimes does accidentally bad activities but the good thing here is they are responsible about what happen on the current situation of it. Many users of YouTube submit their complaint to the YouTube because of what happened and I am glad that the YouTube and the google are taking a fast action about this kind of matter. This probably the best way for them to do in order to get apologize for those users that has been deleted a video without further notice.

indeed this is unfortunate because YouTube is one of the big social media that indirectly stops its support for the development of crypto.

That's why they stated that this is all a mistake. They do not send any notice because they don't actually plan on doing that. They have already released their apology and restore some deleted videos.  It is indeed hard to create videos that's why they made their solution as fast as they can.

This is no accident. Apparently on Google very strongly pressed the American authorities. Therefore, Google began at a very fast pace to delete all videos that relate to cryptocurrencies and also deleted ERC20 and MetaMask wallets from its trading platform. If the video began to slowly restore may in the near future we will see how the trading platform restore software for android.

But no ETA about when all of the videos will be fully restored. Remember it's so easy to delete them all but im not sure if google will be fully restored the deleted videos. Im even not seeing any correlation with the trading platform to restore the software for android and where are you getting that logic? Im feeling curious caused by how is it possible?

If indeed the video does not comply with YouTube's rules or the video does not match even those who promote several scam projects certainly does not hurt to delete the video and certainly not just the video about crypto that they delete.

Imagine a crypto world without youtube, that would have been a bad news for crypto, we all know how important youtube is for crypto, I'm glad they lift the ban on crypto videos if not it would have been a severe blow

That's right, those video deleted were those who has been reported many times by many people that's violating the rules of the videos such as spam, promoting frauds and many more. But as per the youtube management team, those video deleted can still do appeal if they think that they are not violating the rules for them to re-review again by their team.

I have seen the news about it and it is really true that YouTube maybe accidentally have deleted crypto related videos on their platform and YouTube have admitted that they have made a honest mistake with that and they have already taken the full responsibility of the accident that happen. We all know that the damage has been done because videos have been deleted without prior notice. But the best thing is that they still manage to retrieve those retrievable videos to lessen the effect of the mistake that maybe caused by some technical issues or difficulties on their part but at least they have done a responsible action to resolve the problem even if some of the videos cannot be retrievable at all. It is just a nice thing that YouTube have take a quick response on the issue and promised not to let the same thing to happen again.
