Title: bmy.guide's Postcard Campaign *User that use plagiarize pictures*
Post by: Yatsan on January 02, 2020, 02:07:36 AM
What's your thought about user who plagiarize pictures? I know that our forum will automatically ban a user when he/she posted an copy paste content from the web, But what are your thought's about the one who submitted plagiarize pictures here?

The campaign manager stated that:

  • Posts must be original and photos or images uploaded in the post must be original and authentic.
(Plagiarized posts/photos are not accepted and will get you disqualified from the campaign).
    (Mandatory)

So I think they have no excuse about submitting a plagiarize content, Should the be punished? or should they be given a chance?

Here is the link for the campaign:

Link for Spreadsheet where you can see those plagiarize content and the member who submitted it:

It is clearly that one after you're going to join the campaign the rules will get you disqualified when a participant posted plagiarized image. Rules is fine[1] and you just need to face the consequences of not following the rules as it's stated before you join.

[1] Just take our forum rules as an example when you plagiarized post, you'll be banned. Same to their campaign rules.

Should the be punished?
Disqualification from the campaign was their punishment. But, if you're talking about having them banned or tagged, for me, I guess that's too much.

should they be given a chance?
No. I gave everyone who participated in the campaign warnings on what would happen if they submitted a plagiarized photo a couple of days ago. Even sent an additional instructions on how to edit their wrong posts or delete the bad ones from the platform. But even with all that, those who got disqualified never listened. Is it as if they are thinking that they could get away with submitting a plagiarized photo and get paid without me noticing it. That right there to me was a clear intention of cheating on the campaign. So no. No second chances.

Anyone that intends to cheat such a campaign, deserves to be painted [tagged] in red [IMHO] and neutral feedback for those that listened afterward.
- By not tagging such participants, you're indirectly giving them the freedom to do the same thing on other similar campaigns...

As far as I know, in every campaign, no one tags people who violate their rules. The campaign rules aren't too important for a forum, I mean you can ban them on your forum, but not here. As for sanctions, I think you can remove them from the campaign, then add them to your blacklist. In addition, this is plagiarism, although it is a picture, but it is not a good thing, you can also negotiate with other managers to put them on their blacklist.

Another thing is that they have posted the plagiarized photo on another website and not on this site. So i do not think that they could be punished too much for that. Getting disqualified and no payment is enough punishment for them.
