Title: Ask which one is better GTX 1060 or 1660 Post by: mamedesign on January 02, 2020, 06:29:16 PM I'm here to buy some Nvidia GPUs to add to my new engine. Indeed mining is no longer an interesting subject anymore because profits are rather difficult at this time.
But I want to ask which one is better for the latest GPU, especially from the Nvidia GTX 1060 or GTX 1660, and the results of hashrate and efficiency of the power consumption problem. Thank you in advance for giving input. Title: Re: Ask which one is better GTX 1060 or 1660 Post by: Raja_MBZ on January 02, 2020, 08:11:01 PM Interestingly, according to WhatToMine.com (https://whattomine.com/), both the cards offer almost the same hashrate for the same amount of power consumption (~21 Mh/s with 90 Watts of power for Ethash). I'm not an Nvidia guy when it comes to mining (I've always bought AMD cards for this purpose), but IMHO, you should go for the 1660s instead of the 1060s.
Title: Re: Ask which one is better GTX 1060 or 1660 Post by: VasilyS on January 02, 2020, 09:43:19 PM GTX 1660Ti gives 30-31 mh/s on Ethash with 90 watts of consumption by Core (according to GPU-Z) thanks to GDDR6 memory. It is much better than GTX1060. GTX1660 has GDDR5 memory - the same as 1060, that's why there is almost no improvment on Ethash algo. GTX1660 is bette than 1060 only on algos sensitive to Core frequency.

GTX 1060 is eating more power compared to GTX 1660. So if you care about the power better choose gtx 1660 and I think gtx 1660 is getting more improvements in new algo and coins.
