Title: Livecoin issue -- Does this make sense?
Post by: ken4767 on January 08, 2020, 05:33:18 PM
A couple of days ago when Bitcoin was priced at roughly $7500 US I had 0.02062038 BTC (roughly $154 US) on Livecoin. I wanted to trade BTC for THETA, which at the time was priced at about $0.08 US cents. I traded my entire BTC holdings ($154 dollars) for Theta yet only received 22.00630366 THETA. Can someone please tell me if I was scammed or if I'm not understanding something? I sent a Help request to Livecoin but as of now (two days later) they have not responded.
Thanks for any insight anyone here can provide!

Maybe you have looking with your order history and still have some your order not refill all, your coin trading THETA maybe have higher price and not all your buy order completed, I think not fault whit exchange market exactly with Livecoin because I ever this exchange market and look safety when I make trading and withdrawing assets in livecoin exchange market.

This might be the case where buy order aren't still completed. Therefore, its better to check it out if there are still pending orders.

That's what most likely happened. If you see the problem, it seems that indeed the error is in the hands of @OP.

1. Your order has not been completed, and try to see your order history.
2. If all your orders are completed, chances are the amount you buy at a high price.

So, try checking first. Because this is not a matter of scam or not. Because this is a mistake that often occurs, because everyone does not understand it.

From the statement from Op it is clear that the order hasn't got executed. Based on the changes happening with the price of the respective token there'll be delay in the execution of the trade. In such a way in this particular trade the order hasn't got executed completely. Going through the executed order history this can be found.

Thanks very much to all who responded to my post.

However, if the price of THETA on all exchanges at the time was about $0.08 US cents how is it possible that I only received 22 THETA tokens for .02062038 BTC (about $154 dollars at the time)? That would mean Livecoin was selling THETA for about $7 dollars! For $154 US shouldn't I have received almost 2,000 THETA tokens on Livecoin?

I just checked my Livecoin holdings and it indicates I now have 0 BTC but 0.01621173 BTC "In orders". I bought the THETA yesterday -- would it actually take more than a day to complete the transaction?

that indicates that you still have open orders that weren't filled, and only 0.00440865 BTC was actually exchanged for THETA.

scroll down past the order book to "my orders":

are there open orders that you can cancel there?

Livecoin has disabled THETA withdrawals. This often leads to wild price discrepancies vs. the rest of the market. Compared to the price at Coinmarketcap, THETA is currently trading at a 17.5x premium on Livecoin.

Latest data from CMC shows that this coin is priced at 2x premium now. OP, I don't understand why you choose Livecoin which only has a very low volume to trade this coin (not to mention the withdrawal thing), but even if you can get back your bitcoin from open order back, chances are you might still in a loss.

If I were you I'd withdraw and use the remaining bitcoin to buy on another exchange.
